If you have a charity, community group or not-for-profit organisation that would benefit from a fundraising event, then take advantage of this brand new resource – a specially created community BBQ trailer complete with audio visual and commercial BBQ. The trailer is available free of charge to the local community to assist groups to raise funds. Laing+Simmons Hornsby are donating a start up pack for each event to help you get your event up and running including bread sauces and napkins. We are also happy to lend community groups our marquee for the event and may even be able to lend our staff to help out. Our friends at Tender Gourmet Butchery Hornsby can also provide sausages and sliced onions at a reduced rate, as well as a free meat tray worth $50 with every order of more than 200 sausages or $30 with every order of less than 200 sausages. Due to a significant rise in property prices, the state government will increase, in this month’s budget, the price cap of their First Home Buyers Grant (new home) scheme from $650,000 to $750,000. The grant of $15,000 applies to newly constructed and off the plan sales. While new homes in the Hornsby Shire will generally be above this limit it should provide buyers with more options when purchasing townhouses and apartments. To be eligible for the grant you must live in the home for a continuous period of at least 6 months.
