Unit 2C19 –Enable Individuals to Develop Strategies to Manage their Behaviour Unit Code: T/617/8145 RQF Level: 2 Unit Aim This unit aims to introduce the learner to legislation, policies and practice in relation to supporting individuals to manage their behaviour. Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria Learning Outcomes: To achieve this unit, the learner will: 1. Understand legislation, policies and practice in relation to supporting individuals to manage their behaviour. 2. Understand the factors that influence behaviour.
3. Be able to work with individuals to recognise the impact of their behaviour on others.
4. Be able to support individuals to develop strategies for managing behavioural responses.
5. Be able to evaluate and review strategies for managing behavioural responses.
Assessment Criteria: Assessment of these outcomes demonstrates the learner can: Describe the relationship between legislation, policy and practice in relation to supporting individuals to manage their behaviour. Describe the methods and approaches available to help an individual manage their behaviour. Explain how factors relating to the individual can affect behaviour. Describe the potential effects of the environment and the behaviour of others on individuals. Describe why it is important to establish a professional relationship. Support the individual and others to recognise their behavioural responses to different situations. Encourage the individual to consider the impact of their behaviour. Work with an individual to identify and agree the factors which will motivate them to manage their behaviour. Explain to an individual the positive outcomes of managing behaviours. Support an individual to identify situations and circumstances which trigger specific behavioural responses. 4.4. Explore with the individual ways of coping with situations and circumstances which trigger behaviour they wish to manage. Work with the individual to identify and agree strategies. Support an individual to develop and practise the agreed strategies. Record the individual’s agreement and motivation to manage their behaviour. List any potential barriers to progress and ways in which these barriers can be overcome. Describe the additional advice and support available. Conduct regular reviews of strategies for managing behavioural responses. Assist the individual and others to evaluate the effectiveness
