Celebrating Legacy

Christopher ’Paul’ Phillips ’19, pictured here, joins the long legacy of his family as a fourth generation graduate of U-High. Along with his Championship ring, Paul is donning the class rings of great grandmother, Albertine Naomi Ellis ’28, grandfather, Robert D. ’Bobby’ Phillips ’56, great aunt, Helen Phillips Rankin ’65 and Paul’s father, David Phillips ’82.

As a special note, Mrs. Ellis’ ring notes Demonstration High School, the founding name in 1915 for what is now University High School. Mrs. Rankin donated her and her mother’s rings to the ULS Foundation Memorabilia Collection in 2015.
