District Project: Pediatric Lyme Disease Foundation Foundation Lyme disease can be a devastating disease. Unfortunately many insurance companies do not pay for its treatment. The Pediatric Lyme Disease Foundation was set up by Kiwanis Governor John Gridley to help pay for treatment for those inflicted with this virus. The virus is spread by the deer tick and has been found in various areas of New York. Lyme Disease targets the brain and can have many different symptoms, most commonly disturbance in thinking. By raising money for this project Key Club is able to help support families who need all the help they can get.

International Project: Eliminate Maternal and neonatal tetanus steals the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. Tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. This can all be stopped by an immunization but in certain parts of the world it is nearly impossible for women to receive it. It will take over 110 million dollars to ensure that over 100 million mothers and future babies will receive the treatment needed. Kiwanis and Unicef have joined forces in attempting eliminate this horrid condition.
