An Inconvenient Truth: The Crisis of Global Warming Dramatic full-colour photos, illustrations, and graphs combine with Ex Vice President of America’s Al Gore's effective and clear writing to explain global warming in very real terms: what it is, what causes it, and what will happen if we continue to ignore it. An Inconvenient Truth will change the way young people understand global warming and hopefully inspire them to help change the course of history. It exposes the shocking reality of how humankind has aided in the destruction of our planet and the future we face if we do not take action to stop global warming.

Staff Interview Ms Coker- Adeleke First book you remember reading as a child: It was a book of Nigerian Folk tales – that’s my first memory, but I don’t remember any of the stories. Did you like reading at school?: Oh yes, I loved it. I still do. I read an average of a book a week. What books do you read now?: I read a variety of books, from Graphic novels to Science Fiction, to contemporary fiction. I am currently reading the Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall – an amazingly well designed book. Some of appearance of the text is designed around pictures that are clues and is part of the plot. Some pages look like Sharks! Do you have a favourite author?: Too many to name I am afraid. I would have to be a real pedant and ask you to define the genres before I could even begin to think about any names. How much time do you get to read? When do you usually read: I make time to read. I always have a book in my bag no matter where I am going – my friends are used to it now, but at first most people think I am bonkers. I read on the way to work (when I take the bus) & any travel on public transport is an opportunity. Always before I go to sleep at night and often on a Saturday morning. Do you tend to buy books or borrow?: Both – I borrow from the school library, and I buy my Graphic Novels and other fiction/fact/travel books. Have you got a favourite book?: See the answer to favourite author. Same applies. Have you any books to recommend to students? The Children of the Lamp series by P.B. Kerr are my most recent discoveries. Is reading important?: Absolutely!!! It is the key to everything. It opened up new worlds to me, and whenever things were going wrong at home, I knew that I could open a book and find some solutions or at least escape into a different, easier world for a while. Here are some of Mr Coker- Adeleje’s recent loans from the library!
