ARCHITECTURE OF TIME In this semester I was asked to investigate the time in architecture. My purpuse was therefore to react to the richness of the site in terms of urban tipology. Alley, Piazza and Avenue coexist in this place and the relation between such typologies and the courtyard enfolded by the building is what drives all the design choises.

In this project the approach towards the site condition and the building spatiality are thought in a linear system of continuity, while an element of disruption is placed between its parts. This radical gesture gives the oportunity to think of opposite spatial condition that changes while moving through this linear system They evolve in different way depending on which is the direction of the movement.

While working on a more conventional theme -the private garden-, to design this building and make the fuctions coexist, we worked as well on what we called "spine". This element is what defines the whole spatiality of the project.

SHADOW. We decided to work on this theme as architecture's biggest duty and richness in this environment is to provide shadow and a shelter. We did it providing a ROOF. A floating roof with all the facilities within its mass and the laboratories hanging from its structure aims to establish a connection between the human and natural world through the simple gesture of projecting a shadow.
