dreamlike blur of lights, sparkles, and beautiful faces. I perhaps have spent more time on fashion show images than most other photographers,
but
I
refuse
solely to document, I must create with
a
passion.
Phoenixes,
angels, fairies, and dragons; these are the type of fantastical creatures
[incorporated]
into
the show through color, textile, movement, and energy.

In my work, whether editorial, personal, or runway, I always want to display not only what I see, but how I see these things and more importantly, their feeling. Onstage, I felt the regality of the Phoenix and the power of the Dragon, but it is at home where it’s my turn to create some magic of my own. I wanted to recreate the warm energy I felt radiating backstage, and to emphasize the ethereal boldness onstage. For runway, it’s especially hard to take images that are not the same as [those of] the other dozens of photographers within the same space. Exclusivity through creativity is a way for me to break out of the norm; Always has been. I try to interact with the models instead of frantically snapping their picture. I look for art in the chaos. Even with the lights, loud chatter, limited space, I was able to find it heavenly, and transmit it into my work. I would even call some of these fashion portraits with the expressions of the girls both aware and unaware of the camera quite a narrative.
