Sail Dinghy Section The Club has a thriving and enthusiastic Dinghy Section. Racing takes place from the main Shoreham club house in the river Adur alongside the new footbridge over slack water at high tide. There is also social sea cruising in Summer. Both club houses have changing room and shower facilities. SYC racing caters for a mixed fleet and club craft are available to charter, There are generally two races during each sailing session lasting approximately half an hour each, with the faster boats
completing more laps of the circuit than slower boats in the fleet. Average lap times are calculated using PY handicaps. Yacht Racing In addition to the regular racing, we also hold Saturday Pursuit Racing. If you wish to try racing, train crew, tune up your own performance or just have a fun sail for an hour or two on a Saturday, then Pursuiting could be for you. You start in order of your handicap number (slowest go first) the
courses are short and simple, very suitable for beginners to both racing and crewing. Email us and we will get you in touch with the race organisers and arrange a handicap number for your boat if you don’t already have one and for you to join the SYC Pursuiting WhatsApp group.
