Membership

The Sailing Academy welcomes new members. Membership is open to recreational sailors who wish to use the extensive facilities on a regular basis. Members are able to store equipment on site permanently or simply launch their boat/board if they wish.

Membership types are as follows:

Single Handed Membership Available to owners of a single-handed dinghy that is used by that person only.

Standard Membership Available to owners of double-handed dinghies or power boats who wish to use the facilities to launch.

Storage Available to Single Hander or Standard Members only.

Our membership is annual and runs from 01st April – 31st March Temporary day membership is also available to all who wish to use WPNSA’s facilities. The fee covers launching, parking and use of the changing and social facilities, with overnight storage available if required. Temporary membership can be purchased for up to a maximum of two weeks per annum.

Please note all members must also pay harbour dues, this is a small fee that Portland Harbour authority charge to all those using the area in order to maintain the infrastructure.

Our site also has some designated spaces for campervans and caravans, which can be booked in advance on the website or through reception.

Windsurfing Membership

The WPNSA Windsurfing Membership Scheme continues to make the sport more accessible than ever before. Portland Harbour is one of the most exceptional windsurfing venues in Europe and with The Official Test Centre (OTC), windsurfing is represented as it deserves to be within the Academy grounds. As such, with its location, facilities and resources the windsurfing membership scheme represents unbeatable value. The price includes:

• Vehicle parking in the WPNSA car parks. • Use of the changing rooms and shower facilities. • Launching fees and harbour dues for the year, providing access in all wind and tide states. • Two free one-hour rentals of the latest equipment in stock. • 10% off WPNSA café prices.

All this, plus a calendar full of social events, demo days, pro-clinics, barbecues and more. And being statistically the windiest location on the south coast, we are sure the wind will show up as well...!
