Inspirational artists for the wearable sculpture

This work is inspired by Jackson Pollock and how he did the Guernica in his own style. Once the first part of the sculpture was hanged, I poured black paint with water to represent the problems that a person may have when struggling with mental health. As the sculpture fell, this show that when the problems are too heavy –the paint was too liquid, and the paper ripped- not always the person will be able to solve it and they might realise that they need a little help. However, with the second part of the sculpture, I used yellow paint showing those same problems but with a little help from some people, so not every part of the sculpture fell – the paint wasn’t too liquidthis is because when a person with mental health seeks for help, those problems become lighter The problems that they might be going through could be that they are being bullied at school or work, the stress caused by the amount of work that they have to do or even if they feel distress because of a deadline, this factors could affect mental health and it’s wellbeing

This sculpture symbolises a person that suffers from a mental health issues and who may feel alone and never talk about their problems. Such a person could have a mental breakdown at any moment because they put too much pression on themselves and don't look out for help or someone that could hear them. A lot of people look for not only people with mental illnesses, but sometime there are cases where the other person don’t listen to them but try to find a solution and then change the subject almost immediately to make it more to themselves

The paint that is poured on the sculpture represents the problems each person can have and the pressure they put on themselves. The sculpture that has the black paint are the problems that consume the person because they are trying to do it themselves. In this instance so they may end up consumed by the problem. The second sculpture symbolises an individual suffering similar problems however they have tried to reach out for help We can see a slight difference in the first sculpture is fully on the floor but the second one is still hanging from the nylon which show the difference of what a little help could do, the difference of a mental breakdown alone and a mental breakdown with someone. However not everyone is willing to help or to reach out for help.
