THE
ANGELS OF
ATLANT by Stewart Pearce
TIS
In the legends of the Middle East there exists an ancient story, which concerns the role appointed to the Angels by the Great Creator. This fable tells how the Infinite One made a statue of clay in the image of the Divine Male and Female, and asked the Soul to enter it. But the Soul refused, as to be captured thus meant sure imprisonment. The Soul’s essence was to be free, moving throughout the Cosmos forever via pure love and joy, and liberated by the ecstasy of sound. So the Creator asked the Angels to sing such sweet and blissful music, that the Soul became enchanted by the magic of this celestial choir, and agreed to enter the statue of clay - so began the embodiment of Adam Kadmon - so began human life.
A
ngels and Celestial Spirits have always existed - in the pages of sacred and mystical texts, in the minds and hearts of ordinary human beings, and in the ubiquitous acts through which they lovingly support humanity. Wherever they may be, whatever form they may take, and whenever they appear - Angels as Messengers of the Grace dispense the powerful force of love, which is created from the furnace of the Cosmos itself. Living thus, they are encoded with the passion of everlasting praise, and are quickened to live out the beauty of the great song of the Soul - the harmony that enchants humanity to remember the ALL THAT IS and the very oneness of love. ince the Italian Renaissance, Angels have been painted as human beings with wings, although I’ve always seen them as Orbs of Light. Seen that is, fro childhood and then very particularly since a remarkable encounter with twelve beings of immense light on Glastonbury Tor, during the Harmonic Conve rgence of 1987. In those early days of renaissance, in our search for spiritual intelligence away from the confines and dogma of oppressive religious establishment, it was extremely unusual to see circles of plasmic energy, and many with whom I shared, wondered about my sanity. However, with the presence of digital photography, aligned with the magical allure of the ‘internet’, we are regularly brought to see the extraordinary phenomena of Orbs. Indeed, in one recent video I saw two golden orbs clearly create a beautiful Crop Circle on the landscape of Wiltshire in South-east England.
S
ot surprisingly, my conversation about these brilliant balls of light at that time was sparse. Until that is, I read the early Christian mystics, through a study of Angelology, and found that Angels in medieval times were believed to be Orbs of Light suffused with God’s love and splendor. Some of the great early Mystics were: Thomas Aquinas, Dionysius the Areopagite, St. John of the Cross, and Hildegard von Bingen and they all said Angels were Orbs.
N
T
he twelve Angels of Atlantis work with me, gifting their love, strength, healing and wonder, to help with our own renaissance at this time of the great shifting. In order to create this healing, they accord themselves powerful archetypal traits that penetrate our individual and collective consciousness. These archetypes can be seen as keys to our consciousness, and illustrate generic versions of our own personality traits.
F
or example, if we gaze on the Lapis Lazuli-Orb of Gabriel, the Divine Messenger, a sacred oracle opens through the lineage of the wisdom traditions, and as though from God’s voice itself. This oracle moves us through the sands of time, to a far distant memory of the Atla Priests of Atlantis, through to the Ancient Egypt Gods, then on to the Greek and Roman Gods and Goddesses. After a period of darkness, the line once more reappears through the light of Carl Jung’s extraordinary work, through the aspects of the twelve Archetypes he brought to our attention. You will also see against the Orb, a Sacred Sigil that contains, in geometric form, the essence of the Angels heart. Sigils are ancient mystical symbols that hold the force of an entity. In the second Oracle the ANGEL HEART SIGULS, the Angels of Atlantis have given us powerful teaching about the heart as the seat of the soul.
In Atlantis, Gabriel the Messenger over shone the unique healing work of the great Atla Priest Thoth, who in a later period of history became the ‘Scribe Messenger of the Egyptian Gods’. Then, three thousand years later, Thoth transformed into the Greek ‘Hermes’, and the Roman ‘Mercury’. These were the Gods that brought messages from the pantheon of Heaven to Humanity, and engaged in spectacular acts to save humans from peril. believe that Angels are messengers of God, loving for the sake of love through the consciousness of divine grace, and always responding whenever a human request is made of their love and guidance. In like manner, Gabriel was given specific responsibility for functioning as a conduit between God and human beings, encouraging us to optimize our creativity, to become inspirational messengers, to speak our heart’s truth, and to reveal ourselves to the world through grace.
I
So, just as Gabriel brought the Koran to Mohammad, and the annunciation to Mary and Elizabeth – the witness of this Angel reminds us of how inspired action may be wrought in our own lives through love, grace, and the wisdom of divine order. Please try drawing Gabriel’s Blue Orb into your life for a one-day assignment, and notice how uplifted you feel, as you speak your mind with gusto and grace, and how speed of communication takes place so easily!
The Angels have brought us to a specific relationship with the greatness of SOUND. They nurture us to understand their role in our very own creation. Indeed, we often refer to the Angelic Communion as having the ability to uplift us with their great song of praise, the Hallelujah Chorus, and in Renaissance painting we see Angels with their mouths opens, holding powerful trumpets, and bringing from heaven Doxa (praise) through Sona (sound) into our physical presence.
G
aze at the Violet-Orb of Michael the Cosmic Leader, who overshadowed the great Atla Priest Osiris in Atlantis. During the latter stages of that great civilization, Osiris with Archangel Michael’s aid, led a communion of the Atlantean people to Egypt, and subsequently created a golden age of prosperity in Egypt’s history. Centuries later Michael helped Osiris to re-emerge as the Greek God Zeus, and the Roman God Jupiter. These great leaders furrowed into the consciousness of all human beings the power to fulfill individual life force by establishing personal sovereignty in the world – the I AM PRESENCE. In effect, Michael brings forth the essence of leadership through enchantment, patience, and the ability to transmute all human challenges into divine splendor.
Please do check out all of the Orbs, and feel your own personal archetypal key. In turn this will bring Angelic love more directly into your mind, body and soul from their ancient lineage. To assist with this I’ve produced a two Atlantean Oracles, a Book about the Angels of Atlantis, and a series of Icons that depict the twelve Angels. These inspirations humbly bring their power to us, so that we may feel healed and uplifted to the sacred aspect of our lives. Seen thus, the witness of these beautiful Archangels reminds us of how inspired action may be created from their sacred messages – the jewels of love, blessing, inspiration, courage, hope, forgiveness, grace, wisdom, patience and truth – to name just a few.

Delivered thus, the Angels take on a new clarity and might, and if we allow their energy to penetrate our lives, we allow an ancient grace to ease our path into the discovery of a very new way of being. Who wouldn’t wish to be encouraged thus, at this time of unprecedented change, for make no mistake, we live a time of vast change.
B
efore us lies a vision of ourselves as luminous creative beings, engaged in the evolutionary impulse of the cosmos. Therefore, through each step of life at the time of this great ‘shifting’, we may become consciously self-realized divine-beings, like Human Angels, embodying an impulse of love so great, that our physical presence reaches the potential for transfiguration. This means that our energy field may expand to such an extent, that we become like Orbs of Light, illumined by the recalibration of our energy field, appearing like Human Angels! Vantage Point:
Expanded Awareness By JD Messinger
The greatest advantage that a chief executive can attain is a condition of Expanded Awareness (EA). The cover of Fortune Magazine bears the image of these legacy leaders whose unique vantage point and prescient insights was not only demonstrated in stellar shareholder returns, but in altering human behavior as well.
T
hese great EA visionaries created a linear innovation—a combination of things that already existed but bundled in a manner that added new value in a new way—and in the process shifted industrial patterns and consumer behavior. This exclusive hall of fame includes technical giants, financial oracles, and legendary inventors and creators. Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, “A mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.” The same can be said for the boardroom. t the risk of stating the obvious, EA is a different state of consciousness. It is the vantage point of expanded consciousness; a place beyond current beliefs, limitations and constraints, where Jeff Bezos envisioned a world of online retailing, and Steve Jobs a world with a thousand songs in your pocket. It was from this place that Walt Disney had visions of EPCOT, and Nikola Tesla the alternating current motor dancing in their minds eye.
A
Although it is has been said that knowledge is power, EA is not knowledge. Knowledge of facts, information and conditions is useful, but incomplete as it only allows a leader to be aware of an opportunity or disturbance before the event occurs. EA, on the other hand, is the solution— the application of knowledge coupled with intuitive or gut instincts, inspirations that open the eyes to a world that others do not see. When a chief executive taps into this realm, he or she is able to achieve a unique competitive advantage where, to quote Sun Tzu from the Art of War, “Winning without fighting is ideal.”
It sounds tantalizing; create a unique competitive advantage and achieve superior returns, all while leaving a legacy. How does one do it?
A
chieving a condition of EA begins by clearing the mind and trusting deep instincts. It requires total confidence, courage and faith. Taking action from a position of EA is not for the meek at heart. It is the secret that helped most executives achieve their status in the first place. It also requires a degree of detachment, the ability to step above and view the macro situation where the executive instantly recognizes patterns that legendary heroes well understand. The first pattern is contrary to popular belief; the nature by which great inventions, companies and societies evolve is not a series of small linear developments, rather a series of incremental changes followed by radical shifts. The second pattern is that artificially sustaining a nation, industry, company or product is a sinkhole that eventually collapses. Today’s macro condition is where many are now trapped.
The executive who has achieved the detached EA vantage point recognizes the macro conditions and patterns, and the current radical shift as well. This radical shift is a shift in global consciousness catalyzed by the necessity of the majority to survive: the rock upon which we stand is crumbling.
JD Messinger
Fifty million Americans are living in poverty, 47 million on food stamps, our nation has more than $124 trillion in unfunded liabilities, the actual underemployed figure is estimated to be double the official unemployed numbers, and finally, the Consumer Price Index might be hovering around two percent, but that is not reflective of the increased cost of living. Beyond economic conditions is the deterioration in trust and integrity. Back in 1940, only 20 percent of college students admitted to cheating during their academic careers. Today, that number has increased to a range of 75-98 percent.
W
hat’s worse, these employees don’t think they are doing anything wrong, and why should they when school superintendents hold pizza parties to change the grades. In any given week we can read about financial fraud, failure of fiduciary responsibility, gross ethical misconduct, or yet another peoples
movement. According to Stephen M.R. Covey, the # 1 WSJ best-selling author of The Speed of Trust, we have a crisis in trust. These economic and social leading indicators are reflected in a corporate outcome indicator, employee engagement. A recent Towers Perrin Global Workforce study showed barely 21 percent of employees are engaged in their job.
W
hat might not be obvious to the boardroom is, however, not lost upon the Millennial generation. At 80 million strong, any executive who ignores this demographic does so at high risk. While the cost of a college education has increased more than 100 percent in 10 years, the Pew Economic Mobility Project report infers it is getting harder to pay that off. Only 42 percent of recent college grads are working at jobs that require college degrees, 10 percent of recent university graduates are unemployed, while another 26 percent are underemployed in high-school-level jobs. Even though they believe in God, more than 30 percent don’t go to church, saying they are spiritual, non religious. According to Time Magazine, they will average seven jobs before age 26 and they are not into materialism, rather experiences. During recent speeches to more than 1,200 of these college graduates, 80 percent said their top concerns were saving the air, water and food.
This up-and-coming wave of citizens, formerly known as consumers, are socially active, in debt, and under employed with more living at home than ever before. They are consciously aware that we share 99.99 percent the same DNA and are not nearly as concerned about the color of our skin, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin as mom or dad.
The next wave of EA visionary executives who create ecofriendly, socially responsible businesses serving a noble purpose will have a customer base of 80 million posters and tweeters with a consciousness so expanded the Hubble Telescope has difficulty estimating the trajectory. Executives who fail to explore the global shift in consciousness risk sharing the same fate as the corporate titans that ignored technological shifts. We knew three of them as Blockbuster, Polaroid and Borders.

Illuminating Businesses Happiness:
A Visit to
Zappos.com by Holly Duckworth
I A
t seems clear. We all strive for happiness. Yet, my research shows we fail miserably at delivering happiness at work. Statistics show that as many as 70% of employees get in their cars and go to jobs they hate.
s a speaker, I travel from event to event no matter corporate or volunteer group everyone is striving for happiness. As spiritual beings we often equate happiness with love. We look for, why we love. How we love. And, what we love. It’s clear at Zappos the answers to these three questions. They love making happiness.
As a luminary voice I traveled to one place that just might be an epicenter for Zany. went to Zappos. Where CEO Tony Hseih makes it his business to create happiness. Zappos has 10 core values. They may seem a little zany and I’m here to tell you they make Zappos one of the hottest places to work (and shop) in the country.
I
Here are four values you should illuminate in your business to drive more happiness: Deliver WOW! Service to Everyone appos is all about PEC, personal emotional connection. From the moment you walk on campus as a guest, customer or employee you can feel you are valued. The mayor, who greeted me, personalized my experience with a nametag and took my photo on the Zappos Family wall. Our culture guide, Erica showed us everything from where phones are answered, to employee training areas all reminders of having fun while delivering great service. Did you know, there are no phone scripts or call times at Zappos so every customer gets one on one attention every time. Wow!
Z
Build Open & Honest Relationships With Communication ne of my favorite parts of the tour was the t-shirt wall. Every time that Zappos hits a financial milestone from their first $1million dollar day to the first $100 million the entire company gets a shirt to celebrate. Each shirt is displayed here. What was clear is it’s not about the shirt. It’s about communicating clearly both financial goals and the ability to attain them as a company.
O
Create Fun & Weirdness
T
he culture at Zappos is a bit opposite of many companies I have visited. The theory at Zappos is hire the best and then set them up to succeed. Ask for forgiveness then permission is the motto. The people of Zappos are empowered to create happiness.
Zappos has more than 17 lunchrooms on camps where their employees can snack on items from oatmeal to beverages for free at any of the theme break rooms from the beach room to the game room. Zappos has one door in and one door out to intentionally create employee serendipitous connections across departments with the hope to spark new ideas. Every department and every person I met even said “hi” as I walked the halls. In the spirit of weird, the day I visited the lobby was full of employees raising money thru a charity day called “Bald and Blue”. Blue Man Group was there and much like a fun run you could have people pledge money for you to shave or wax your body and all the money went to charity.
Pursue Learning
H
appiness is about the lifelong quest for knowledge. Every employee is offered the opportunity to have learning from reading books in the Zappos library to personal coaching. When you hit your goals you even get to sit in the “Royalty” throne.
Z
appos lives their 10 values, and a little more than that they share gratitude with each other and the world. What I learned was every employee each month has the opportunity to reward a fellow employee with a $50 bonus for catching him or her doing something good. Oh, and Zollars, the company has an internal currency employees can earn for doing great things. Zappos culture of happiness is about circulation and flow. y visit to Zappos is a demonstration of their core values the PEC, personal experience of connection. As you walk out of your tour they invite you to sit in the VIP chair to take a photo, share it on social media and know you are valued. Oh and when you get home in your email you find a little thank you card and a discount on your next purchase. Zappos is illuminating happiness for employees, customers and guests in big and small ways.
M
lluminating happiness in business, may not mean business as usual. Zappos is not shy about doing things different. Zappos demonstrates the world working together to be the source of happiness. Love why you do what you do, how you do it and what you do and you have the engine for success.

Fear And Write a New Story Dissolve
by Carl Greer, PhD, PsyD
We grow up on stories and are comforted by the simple arc of a narrative that has a beginning, middle, and end. We love a great story of triumph over tragedy, localboy-makes-good, or fall from grace and redemption.
Many stories are of initiation: journeying into the dark of the unknown and emerging into the light. Our stories may be archetypal, with simple plots we all recognize. When we are watching a movie and all seems lost for the main character, we eagerly await the plot twists that will cause him to learn and grow and regain what he lost and even more. When we are watching a friend struggle with a job loss or divorce, we hope it will have a happy ending. If we’re dissatisfied, unhappy, or lost, we want to believe we’re simply at the point in the story before everything turns around. However, for the story to take a positive direction, we may have to make changes—even if we’re afraid to do so. The narrative can be turned around if we let go of fear of the unknown and step into the role of storyteller who has the power to change the plot line.
C
hanging your story begins with the awareness that your current story isn’t working for you. This realization must not lead to paralysis, however. You want to be able to step back and remain in a state of curiosity and optimism as you look at what your story has been up to this point. Let go of the paralysis and fear that comes from observing what is happening and the need for it to change. With your eyes open but unclouded by fear, it will be easier for you to recognize which patterns are no longer serving you. You’ll start to see threads that can become woven into a new and more satisfying story. The problem may give way to the solution—or even multiple solutions. hen I was growing up in the postwar era, I expected that I would find a career and stick with it my whole life until the day I retired, because that’s the story I knew. Nowadays, people typically change jobs every five to seven years. I came to have several careers that overlapped each other. Those who are still living according to the old story of how a career unfolds may become paralyzed with fear upon losing a job. Those who grew up with a different story may be hurt and upset by a job loss, but more resilient because of their expectation that they will emerge into a new situation. They simply expect the plot twist to take them to the next stage in their career. Fear doesn’t keep them stuck in the part of the plot where all is lost.
W
MEME If you’ve had change forced upon you for any reason, or are realizing that change is inevitable, or your old story is not working for you, it’s time to consider writing a new story. You may not have confidence in your ability to imagine a new story that’s even more rewarding and to begin to live according to that better narrative. By consciously choosing to let go of fear and enter the unknown, you can start the process of changing your story and changing your life. You don’t have to live according to the old narrative—or get stuck feeling uncertain of what to do next or where you are going. You don’t have to remain in a situation that’s making you unhappy just because you’re afraid of making a change.
T
o overcome your fear of change, you can encounter your fear symbolically through a dialogue, which will allow you to learn from it and dissolve or release it. Set the intention to dialogue with your fear. Close your eyes, reduce your mental activity by focusing on your breathing, and continue to do so. Pay attention to any symbol that arises in your mind. The symbol is probably related to your fear, or it is your fear itself. Ask it, “What do I need to know?” Wait for the answer. Then ask, “What do I need to do to release my fear?” Follow the symbol’s instructions. Imagine that the symbol is starting to dissolve in front of you. Feel your confidence and faith growing each time you inhale, and the symbol growing dimmer and weaker each time you exhale. Thank the symbol for appearing to you. When you’re finished, journal about the experience. If you hear nothing when you ask questions of the symbol, or you get the message that you’re not ready for the answer, simply thank the symbol for appearing to you and complete the exercise. Allowing the symbol in this exercise to fade or dissolve will help you release your fear. As you think about the exercise afterward, consider these questions: What did you learn about your fear? What do you need to do right now to prevent fear from keeping you stuck in your old story?

VOICE THE POWER OF by Kara Johnstad
ONE
A
nd it is the voice that has the power to bring us together or move us apart. It is the inner voice that guides us to take chances and to make decisions. It is the voice that can comfort and heal.
The voice is so complex and yet so simple. It all comes back to nothingness and somethingness. To silence and tone. To
Each and every one of us, has a voice.
0 and 1.
I
f you understand tone and voice and language you can shape shift your world and begin a journey which will take you to the beyond and back.
If you become aware of open and close whereas V = open and l = close - you can reprogram your world just like a computer programmer can re-program.
VOICE - THE POWER OF ONE Today I simply would love to explore with you possibilities, and a question which is moving through me. Can WE create a global shift of consciousness with understanding the power behind voice - the power of one? If you look from the heavens and imagined a channel running through the center of your body connecting you from heaven to earth, you would see that one of the first portals is a ventile in your throat. A gate so to speak.
I
When we inhale and welcome in the air and energy that nourishes us, the portal or gate is in an open V position. When we exhale silently and release, let go of that which we no longer need, the folds remain open and wide and form the same V. The fascinating thing is, when we wish to communicate, or express our heartfelt emotions, the V moves into l . In a strange paradox - our body closes into oneness for us to open into some-ness. By closing the folds we come into inner oneness and close one circuit before we can expand further into the next outer space.
f you look from the top down and the person is simply breathing, you would see the vocal folds take on the shape of V:
In speech and singing, the vocal folds oscillate between V and l. Silence is V Voice needs l or ONE to produce a tone. Click here and see a movie clip showing human vocal folds in action.
The amazing thing with voice is, only when the folds can close properly, bring both sides together, only when you have a relaxed l or you are in a state of relaxed oneness while singing or speaking can the voice regenerate constantly and begin to have an affect on our world.
W
V
oice the power of l. Yes looking at it from a bird’s perspective, one could say that every day while talking and singing we go through a constant repetition of movements between V and l.
Could we say that through language and tone we are programing our world and our environment through word and sounds. That instead of the 01 01000111 01110 1001 010101001 01001 of a computer programer, we as a humanity are using V l V l VVVVVVV l and thus shape shifting our world into the one we wish to perceive.
If we explored the power of ONE would we in the end be in the tone. At - one.
There is a famous book called the Power of Now. And yet look at the last word. The seed sound is l. Now backwards is Won. And all is Won and all is One when we come back to being One with ourselves.
hen we are one with all the fragments of ourselves we then easily reconnect with the whole.
And is Whole also HOLE or the OPEN state of the throat V: 1 = one No, I have not eaten funny mushrooms in the forest, I often see how the worlds of words are connected. I do not know the answers. I am an explorer and love knowing that when I sing, my instrument forms a clear l or ONE. Open, close, open, close. Off, on off, on. VlVl
T-ONE and language is powerful. It can bring us back to ONE And oneness brings us into a deep state of peace.
N
ow, look at the ring where the vocal folds lie and look at the V and l. Then look at the symbol that the world uses for peace. Whether it is two fingers holding a V or the peace sign both are clearly derived from THE VOICE. Is it possible to lead the world into a state of harmony and global mind-global heart by consciously understanding that in TONE we are one, that the voice holds the key? What would happen if each and everyone of us owned our powerful instrument we have been given consciously and start to awaken each day not only feeding our body the right food, but consciously feeding our soul the right tones and also sharing our beautiful tones with our environment thus affecting the world?
It’s not coincidental that shamanic healing rituals include songs.
W
hat would happen when we sang as a community together into the pain as the news of destruction came into our ears and eyes? What would happen when we stopped writing letters to the editors in disgust and stopped marching with signs, and instead truly voiced or deeply held grief. We voiced our frustration and learned to move through it in song. What would have if we pulled our vocal folds together into oneness and VOICED our deep longings out loud? What would happen if every time we saw injustice we started to hum, to sing, to offer the pains of the world our healing voice? What would happen if instead of commercials constantly running, we had moments of silence in our media and moments of poetry – moments of reflection using the power of word and song consciously? Would our world find more balance? Would we be able to identify with healing and wellness instead of pain and destruction?
Music is a powerful unifying force. The voice rules as the supreme instrument. The human voice is the portal, the key to l finally bringing our world together in harmony and in peace V. Peace V and our oneness lie embedded in the VOICE: Share with me your thoughts and join me at the Voice your Essence community. Transforming the world through the power of the human voice. Peace. an you imagine a world where it would be natural
to sing? Not only while you are sitting at your children’s bedside before they go off into a deep slumber and visit the land of dreams, but also natural to sing on the street, in the car, or waiting for the train? What would happen if we sang through our lives?
We are moving into a very strangely internalized world of consuming other peoples sound in our ears and walking through the world with headphones on instead of realizing, we have the music within us. Tap in.

Dancing the Creative Path
The Other Side of
Inspiration By Pollyanna Blanco
Being inspired is often likened to a light-filled and buoyant experience where the heavens open and the angels sing. We just know we have struck gold! From that initial burst of excitement a quickening is felt deep within, emboldening us to take a necessary leap of faith and pursue our creative impulse.
A
ll fired up, we feel enlivened and on purpose, fueled to proceed -- until the first challenge ruptures the moment. Perhaps a few days, possibly even weeks in, something as subtle as a fleeting hesitation starts to throw some watery doubt on our creative bonfire, fanned at first so passionately. In this moment a critical decision is made. We either decide to carry on or begin to find many ways to justify throwing in the proverbial towel. Here is where inspiration seems to have slipped from us. In reality it is our one-sided perception of it that has. By readjusting our perception of ‘inspiration’ to include its other side, we acknowledge its inherent duality, the light and the shadow that emerge from our motivations. We can then get a fuller sense of how both aspects contribute to the larger creative process.
Inspiration’s Shadow Side oes this sound all too familiar? Impressed by a TV episode of Dancing with the Stars you sign up for a few dance classes. The first class is exciting and empowering; you have now crossed the threshold from the living room to the dance studio, an arm chair dreamer no more. Heartened you return for a few more classes, relishing the wonderful feeling of taking charge and turning your dreams into reality. Then it happens. That subtle,
D
or not so subtle, moment when the initial infusion of joy starts losing its potency. A toe is stepped on, an awkward moment is caught in the mirror, and a pattern of steps begins to feel like figuring out a complex math equation. That quiet inner conviction of ‘I can do it!’ now shifts to ‘Maybe I can do it?’ From here on in it can be a slippery slope. When your insecurities, limited beliefs, and fears begin to surface you are shifting into inspiration’s shadow side.
Duality as Teacher s strange as it sounds, why wouldn’t ‘inspiration’ have a shadow? We live in a world of duality. As many of us are expanding our consciousness we are opening to the idea of seeing beyond duality, to an awareness that we are all one. However, we arrive at this light of awareness through our daily experiences of living with, and learning from the friction, confusion, and contrast that duality provides. Inspiration is no exception. In fact, delving deep into our challenges just as much as soaring spirit-high with our motivations is a balancing act. Considering that the earliest meaning of “inspire” is to breath, imagine taking in a deep breath of divine inspiration without naturally allowing an exhalation to follow. Inspiration then is a process that involves both a taking in, and a releasing. Therefore learning how to navigate the ups and downs of the creative process requires accepting these dual aspects. We can then hold fast to honouring our passionate commitment to being creative no matter the terrain.

Your Soul’s Companion ere’s the good news! No matter how bumpy the road ahead gets on your creative journey, you have a trusted companion nestled deep within your psyche, whether you realize it or not. Many are unaware of this assistance, even misunderstand it – yet your daimon is actually your greatest ally. Fear not, there’s no need to sound the alarm bells! Your daimon is not some sinister force as suggested by certain religious lore, but merely a ministering spirit who wishes to guide you. Patrick Harpur traces their origin back to Neoplatonism; the ancient Greeks believing each of us has a personal daimon assigned to us at birth. Pioneering psychologist Carl Gustav Jung understood the daimon as a psychological principle within us, both universal and archetypal, and central to helping us understand how to live a fulfilling life. Jung believed that our daimon exists to provoke inner conflicts that encourage us to become more selfaware. Quite simply, our daimons are in fact our soul communicating its very essence to our personality.
H
Anything but Fluffy Bunny Friends t first seeming more foe than friend, your daimon directs you out of your comfort zone, through the alchemical fires of your deepest desires, to help you grow in accord with your soul’s dictates. Upon first encountering your daimon you might wonder about this ‘unexpected’ guest. Often daimons seem to crash ‘life’s party’. Before much time passes they change from being the charming life of the party, to a seeming liability; carelessly knocking over the glass table and toppling the priceless antique vase, without batting an eye or even offering an apology. No matter how many times you try to escort them out, they are back ringing your doorbell until you let them in again. So when you are inspired, called to follow a creative path, you can bet your daimon is truly behind it. If God, the angels and the Universe seem to inspire, guiding you ever higher, in contrast your daimon at first appears to inflame, burning off any human hindrances that hold you back. As you surrender to your daimon’s mission, this insightful being’s purpose becomes clearer; to serve your highest good by helping you tap into your creative potential so that your beautiful essence may be revealed. They just do this in unique and often disconcerting ways at first -- bearing challenges as gifts.
A
Again, your daimon is the emissary between both aspects of self; the light of spirit, and the shadow of personality. Transformation occurs as your daimon is embraced and becomes more friend than foe; ultimately awakening the creative genius sleeping within. As we learn to negotiate the dance floor of our creative process with our daimon, literally or metaphorically, this push-pull relationship refines itself from slam dancing in the mosh pit into an impassioned, wellarticulated tango where our essence can shine front and center.

Consciousness Beyond Life: The Science of the Near-Death Experience by Pim van Lommel, M.D.,
i
s a book that takes human consciousness and its role in our reality seriously. The author, a medical doctor trained to look at the world in a scientific and rational manner, takes on the subject of near-death experiences (NDEs). He realizes that even though our current scientific understanding cannot explain the NDE, it does not mean that they are not a real, valid experience for the people who have them. “I am of the opinion that people who have had a near-death experience and who are capable of putting their experience into words can teach us a great deal about the relationship between human consciousness and the brain. Finding an explanation for the cause and content of the near-death experience is a major scientific challenge. The author does a thorough job of covering the possible scientific explanations for an NDE, from the physiological to the psychological. Some theories are possible explanations for certain elements of the NDE, but there are no theories that can comprehensively account for all of the elements (twelve, as measured by Raymond Moody). In addition, despite a serious inclination to attribute consciousness entirely to the function of the human brain, science has yet to prove this. The author believes that it is increasingly unlikely that consciousness is merely a product of the brain. He cites the inability to measure thoughts and feelings, the mounting evidence that the mind [the author uses mind and consciousness interchangeably] is capable of changing the brain, as well as the findings that consciousness can be experienced despite a complete lack of brain function, as in an NDE. The book then delves into the cutting-edge of scientific discoveries as the author discusses quantum physics, electromagnetic fields, probability waves, nonlocal space, and the origin of consciousness. It is dense reading at times, but the author does a good job of attempting to explain very technical terms and ideas in a manner that is easy for the casual reader to digest. And through his research on NDEs, as well as data from neurophysiological research and concepts from quantum theory, the author concludes that consciousness can only come from nonlocal space. This nonlocal space can be likened to the vacuum, the Source Field, the Zero Point Field, the Ether. And he believes that consciousness cannot be measured in the physical world, though it does inform it and interact with it. He also goes on to demonstrate why he believes there is a continuity of consciousness, independent of the body. Whether intended or not, this book is an excellent bridge between spirituality and science.
A very thorough and engaging read, Consciousness Beyond Life leaves the reader with a sense of awe and wonder at not only human consciousness but the consciousness that seems to pervade the very fabric of space itself, informing everything with an intrinsic intelligence. NDEs not only change the lives of those who have them, but the lives of those around them. There is no doubt that this author was profoundly changed by his research into NDEs, and as a consequence, his consciousness. If you read this book with an open mind, your consciousness too will be changed. Review by Kandy Williams, NCReview
Human Purpose and Transhuman Potential: A Cosmic Vision of Our Future Evolution, by Ted Chu, PhD
T
his book is not easy to read, but it is important. Because it deals with subject matter that many would consider highly controversial, Dr. Chu expends great effort - and many pages - to lay the philosophical and historical groundwork for his thesis that humanity is and should be only an intermediate step in our destined evolution to cosmic beings. The enablers of this conscious evolution, he suggests, are technologies like robotics, nano technology, cloning and genetic manipulation. Having worked for General Motors where robotic research was a part of the landscape, he has, perhaps, fewer barriers to the idea of developing advanced or even sentient robots or cyborgs - humans with integrated robotic elements, or even genetically enhanced humans. Whatever one’s opinion of this prospect is, the fact that we as a species already have, and continue to develop these capabilities, makes it imperative that we examine the implications and are prepared for the consequences. Chu points out that consequences may not be pretty in the short run, and some chaos during the transition is probably inevitable, but nether a return to the “good old days nor stasis are an option. All in all, this book is a valuable addition to the transhuman scene, and provides excellent background for the conversations we need to be having about the God-like capabilities that science has unleashed and industry will exploit. Messages of Hope, by Suzanne Gieseman
F
ormer U.S. Navy Commander Suzanne Giesemann began her journey into spirituality when the tragic death of her step-daughter sparked a quest to find the truth about life after death. What she didn’t expect to find was a gift and inner connection that not only answered her questions, but pulled her deep into a mystical world of mediumship where her own, previously unknown psychic skills emerged, and she began providing comforting messages for loved ones who had crossed over. Aptly titled Messages of Hope, her latest book offers not only proof of life on the other side, but also shares a remarkable story of how Suzanne moved from doubting anything that couldn’t be perceived by the senses, to fully embracing her connection with spirit and sharing messages of hope with people around the world. Suzanne’s words—beautifully crafted and straight from the heart—provide a deep, authentic connection to readers without attempting to sway their opinions about mediumship one way or another. Previously a self-proclaimed skeptic, she shares her amazing journey, spirit-inspired poetry, and powerful messages from the other side of the veil, allowing readers to draw their own conclusions. Passion and gratitude for discovering her remarkable gifts are infused in every word, making Messages of Hope not only heartfelt and engaging but also full of comfort and hope for readers on their own quest for truth about life on the other side. Time in a Bottle: Mastering the Experience of Life, by Howard Falco
O
ur physical world is bookmarked with distinct beginning and endings, boundaries that give structure to our existence. When we dwell on the surface of our lives time is a limited commodity, and for most of us there isn’t enough of it—either to get done the things we “need” to do, or to enjoy the things we desire. But in the grand view of the cosmology of life, the universe has no beginning and no ending, and there is no time: neither past nor present, existence is an infinite flow of present creative moments. The purpose of time then, says Falco, is “to give life the space to unfold and demonstrate its glorious infinity.” Awareness of the influence of infinite time, and its counterpart, is key to mastering the experience of life—to creating a life that best serves us. Falco deftly and lucidly navigates readers through the universal and personal nature of time, dividing the book into four parts: time’s purpose; how we become stuck in time (understanding suffering); how to dissolve time and create what you want; and transcending time. The degree to which we perceive life as finite and limited directly corresponds to the degree that we act from this fear, and consequently create experiences that are the result of this fear, he explains. Using straightforward explanations and examples, Falco describes practices to “stretch and collapse time”—demonstrating how we determine and create our experience by our thoughts and actions—and therefore can change our life dramatically through a deeper understanding of how time works. Time may be “on our side” but it is Falco’s keen perception, empathy, and thoughtprovoking notions of how we can harness the power of time that leads to greater mastery of the experience of life: to realizing our greatest hopes and dreams. Radical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against All Odds, by Kelly Turner
H
ats off to Kelly Turner for her objective investigation of the factors behind so-called spontaneous remissions of advanced cancer. This paradigmshifting book provides radically new perspectives on what should be considered important in treating cancer. Many of the case studies are taken from people who have gone through the best that Western medicine can offer, and when they were sent home to die had nowhere else to turn but to their own research and determination to live. Others rejected radiation and chemotherapy at the outset. The stories in the book detail the steps taken by each individual to overturn their prognosis, and awaken the body’s amazing ability to repair itself. What is so fascinating is that of the nine key factors in radical remission identified in the course of research, only two are physical – diet and supplements. All the rest have to do with the changing the emotional state of the individual. It has become common knowledge that sugars, refined grains, hydrogenated fats and pesticides are bad for the body, but stress, isolation and repressed anger, it turns out, can be just as toxic. The implications for both treatment and prevention of cancers are profound. With the probability that over 1 in 3 people in the US will develop cancer in their lifetime, truly this is a book that needs to be read by medical professionals and laypeople alike. Himalayan Sound Revelations: The Complete Tibetan Singing Bowl Book, by Frank Perry
“T
his book is intended to be a comprehensive study of the ‘singing bowls’ that have become so popular in the West,” says the author. And comprehensive it is. Beginning with the history and traditions of these “bells” that rest upon the earth, Perry then leads the reader through the development of singing bowls in Ancient China, their use in Tibetan ritual and culture, and their appearance in the West. He covers some 250 different styles of bowl, techniques for drawing out the sound, and information on how to choose the right bowl, wand, and mallet. He discusses the yoga of sound, mantra, and the relation of different bowls to the zodiac, planets, and the chakras, and offers 26 exercises to “accompany the isolating of one of the partials from your bowl.” Perry’s passion for the subject, combined with over 40 years of experience with singing bowls, makes this book a must-read for sound healers, musicians, and anyone drawn to sacred sound. lthough as a book Experiencing Spirituality is something one reads, it is really more like a vessel that carries you along a river of human experience to touch many shores of spiritual wisdom. At each shore one pauses and drinks deeply of the inquiry and grace awakened, through tales recounted from great traditions of many ages and cultures. More than just passing on stories, however, authors Ernest Kurtz and Katherine Ketcham invite readers into a new way of seeing, through experience, which is the inherent gift of story. As guides for the passage they provide an equally fluid and rich narrative of context that brings into focus the many facets of spirituality—such
Are You Happy Now? 10 Ways to Live a Happy Life, by Barbara Berger
B
arbara Berger has a knack for touching the sweet spot of personal empowerment. The title of her most recent book, Are You Happy Now? 10 Ways to Live a Happy Life, is the heart of inner dialogue that every human being has at some time in their life. Am I happy? Am I happy now? What can I do to be a happier person, to make my life easier, or sweeter? What would it take to become a happier person? The number one cause of suffering and unhappiness, say Berger, is wanting life to be something it’s not; followed by number two, which is not wanting what you have. We can all relate to this because, of course, she’s right. There isn’t a single person who hasn’t at some time wanted their life to be something else—something better. Understanding that it is our thoughts that determine our reality is key to living a happy life, but shifting the way we think and perceive is not always the easiest thing to do. Fortunately, Berger shows how, with simple adjustments in our thinking, we can make our experience of life easier—and happier. With her trademark easy-to-understand writing, self-disclosure, and practical takeaways, this book provides real-time insight and guidance for peering into our own happiness quotient and changing our view of life. Aging: Enlightenment in Slow Motion
C
John C. Robinson, Ph.D., D.Min.
I have written about enlightenment for years, exploring its remarkable nature, revelations and effects.
alled by countless names (satori, mystical experience, or cosmic consciousness) depending on one’s philosophy and theology, it’s that unpredictable and timeless moment when the mind’s chatter stops, perception and consciousness intensify incredibly, identity and ego boundaries may dissolve, and a divine and loving Presence seems to engulf or permeate everything, evoking a feeling of ecstasy and often providing profound insights about the spiritual nature of life.
W
hat I never anticipated, however, was how the enlightenment experience would also creep up on me as I aged. I now believe that aging is enlightenment in slow motion, if we pay attention.
S
ubtle changes in consciousness appear naturally and spontaneously in the aging experience. Released from the tyranny of clock, calendar and career, we slow down to “smell the roses” and often notice fascinating shifts in awareness. See if you can identify some of these changes: • A gradual fading of identity as if who you were or think you are is no longer very important or even that real. • Unexpected experiences of a silent and thoughtless consciousness in which there is no sense of purpose, effort, agenda, point of view or even a thinker. • Unusually intense and vivid sensory perceptions revealing the nearly indescribable beauty of the world around you. • Moments of unexplained joy, wonder and childlike innocence. • Loss of interest in or attachment to material things that once seemed so important. • Feelings of unconditional love and compassion for the world and all living things. • Subtle awareness of a larger consciousness all around you, as if consciousness were no longer in you but you were in it. • Spontaneous spiritual insights that surprise you with their depth and significance.
T
hese kinds of experiences may signal a growing awareness of enlightenment’s consciousness breaking into everyday life. What is their purpose? With the unprecedented longevity gifted us by science, medicine and nutrition, we boomers again have a chance to change the world - not by heroic means, not by doing big things, but by a change in consciousness. As we integrate aging’s awakened consciousness into our lives, values and activities, enlightened elders subtly change the consciousness of humanity - away from the warrior model of western civilization to a more loving, spontaneous and nondualistic way of life.
John C. Robinson
I recently consulted the Taoist I Ching on aging. Also known as The Book of Changes, this ancient Chinese divination system predates recorded history. As an oracle, it is both profound and easy to use. My copy had been gathering dust on a top shelf of my bookcase for the past several years. With new discoveries about aging, I returned again to my trusted friend for assistance. The results were stunning.
The reading (Hexagram 41) explained, “This hexagram indicates the time of a decrease of some sort in your life…Whichever or whatever recently played a large role in your life will now diminish…Now is the time to return to more basic values… Even one who has been united with the One and the All - the saint, the bodhisattva - must ‘decrease’ and reenter the wheel of karma. After a time of revelations and spiritual landmarks you will now become a little more ordinary… If you have been enlightened you will accept and love your role in the material world. Instead of seeking union with God through your psyche, you now can be at One though simply being. In this time of decrease you will become one of the simplest things, which you know are in notoriously close touch with the One and All.” (Reifler, Sam, 1974, p. 183).
T
hree recent books on aging have indeed been “a time of revelations and spiritual landmarks” and it now feels right to move into a simple and ordinary life, which is itself so close to the divine. We climb the mountain and then come down. For me, now, the “diminishment” of aging is an experience of simply “being,” a homecoming that I appreciate for its beauty, simplicity, ease and perfection. I believe aging itself takes us into a realm of quiet flow, and I am reminded of my earlier books, Ordinary Enlightenment and Finding Heaven Here, which anticipated this new kind of consciousness.
he great Persian poet Rumi was a well-known university professor. One day an ecstatic “mad man” named Shams approached him, threw his books on the ground, and said, in effect, “Now you must live what you know.” After revelations and insights, after a lifetime of learning, the time comes to simply “live what we know.” The new land of aging brings us to this same alchemistry - the culmination and integration of all we have learned as simply being who we are.
T
n sum, I believe that aging is a most natural kind of enlightenment. If we fear this time of emerging simplicity, judging it unproductive by the values that drove our middle years, we will resist its profoundly transformational potential. My advice? Let go of heroic beliefs, values and goals. Feel into the flow of thought-free consciousness. Discover who you really are. And return to the world as it is. There you will find an entirely new path and way of life - the way of the sage.

Finding Your Genie in a Bottle
How to Attune to Higher Consciousness by Suzanne Giesmann
My husband and I walked past a row of TV sets in an electronics store the other day. He stopped abruptly when he saw Christina Aguilera dancing to a song about a genie in a bottle. I seriously doubt that he was drawn in by the lyrics, but my mind drifted to musing about the main theme of the song. Who wouldn’t love to have their own genie in a bottle to answer the pressing questions that occupy our minds?
A
s a medium, I’m well aware how many people wander about in search of guidance. It has only been a few years that clients have come to me to hear from their loved ones on the other side, but it still surprises me how many are as interested in getting personal advice as they are in communicating with their deceased family members. To some, a reading with a psychic-medium is like a private session with a genie in a bottle. There is nothing wrong with this. We are used to going to professionals for advice. What most people don’t realize is that each of us is innately endowed with the ability to tune into that guidance ourselves. he One Mind of which we are a part speaks to all of us all of the time. When asked with intention, the answers come. When trusted, the guidance is unerring. The Voice is often quite subtle and can easily be mistaken for one’s imagination, but as a very wise person once said, “How else would God speak to you, if not through your imagination?”
T
T
he ability to attune to higher consciousness can be learned. Take it from this former career Navy officer who now brings through verifiable evidence from the consciousness of those who have passed to the other side. I had no idea I had this ability until I discovered it in the fourth decade of my life. Now I know beyond question that you don’t become a spirit when you die. You are spirit here and now. The physical parts of you are not the real you. It only appears that way because that’s where you place your consciousness. Paradoxically, it is that very consciousness that is the real you.
Consciousness has no beginning and end. It is eternal. Consciousness is in every living thing, from one-celled organisms to plants, animals and humans. It is omnipresent. Quantum physics has proven that everything exists in a field of all possibilities until observed by consciousness, therefore consciousness is creative. Because it is the source of all awareness, consciousness is allknowing.
e most often attribute these qualities to a power outside ourselves, but when we focus on our inner world and become aware of our “I Amness”, we understand that these qualities belong to us as well. We, as individuals, are a focus of this greater Consciousness. In this physical dimension, we call that focus “Mary” or “John.” Take away the labels, the personalities, and the individual beliefs— something we can do in the silence of meditation—and there we experience our true nature.
W
We can deliberately access other states of consciousness in the dream state and through hypnosis or meditation. It is then—when we transcend the limitations of ordinary awareness—that we open ourselves to higher levels of creativity, insight, inspiration, guidance and wisdom. Some of the world’s greatest discoveries have come into being by deliberately attuning to higher levels of reality. Albert Einstein said that “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.” Imagine what kind of problems we could solve and what kind of creativity could be unleashed, on a personal as well as a global level, if more people purposely attuned to higher levels of consciousness on a regular basis.
T
hose who come to understand that we all contain this same essence are often referred to as “illuminated” or “enlightened,” but this awareness is not limited to a few select beings. It is possible for anyone to enter into and experience the deeper states of consciousness that lead not just to the answers we seek, but to an understanding of our essential oneness. This is nothing short of transformational. The keys to self-transformation, to a level of attunement that will eradicate the need to search outside of yourself for answers, are these: • Believe that higher consciousness exists and that you are connected with it. Just as a wave is an integral and inseparable aspect of the ocean, you are an integral and inseparable part of the sea of consciousness in which you are immersed. If you see yourself as merely a brain with a body, separate and apart from the Source of the answers you seek, you cut yourself off from that very Source. • Train your mind to be still. It can be challenging to distinguish the subtle Voice of the higher self amid the constant chatter of your human brain. It takes discipline to quiet the conscious mind through meditation on a regular basis, but this is critical to perceiving the more subtle vibrations of the unseen dimension. Mystic Joel Goldsmith said that, “Closing your eyes to meditate is stepping into a corridor and standing before a door to another reality that is always there.” When you couple the belief that another reality exists with the discipline of regular meditation, you have opened the door. • Clear all energy blockages. Every thought and emotion carries its own energy—its own vibrational frequency. We take in negative vibrations throughout the day from our own thoughts, from the energy radiated by
After a lifetime of left-brain living, I have learned to do just that. The result is a sense of inner peace, joy, and unerring guidance— available to all of us— including these words, received as a mere whisper in the silence:
those around us, and even from our dreams. Be aware of the thoughts and beliefs that run through your mind and upgrade them as necessary. Pay attention to your body’s signals. If you are feeling lethargic, ill at ease, irritable, and disconnected, your energy field is likely clogged. There are a variety of ways to clear the blockages. One of the best is to … • Open your heart. When the goal is expanded consciousness, consciously expressing gratitude, joy, and love is the means to get there. It takes deliberate intent to rise above the dense vibrations of the physical world. • Shift your focus. Where you place your consciousness becomes your reality. We reside in the physical and non-physical realms simultaneously. Unfortunately, somewhere between the “terrible two’s” (a time when we take on the belief that we are separate individuals) and around age five, we forget our true nature as spirit-beings temporarily in a physical body. Our focus becomes firmly rooted in the physical world. Your consciousness does not reside in the brain. Your consciousness is everywhere at once, in the non-local realm of no time and no space. You can regain access to your true home by consciously expanding your consciousness with the breath, then shifting your focus to a location beyond the limits of the physical body. I recommend a spot about one foot above the skull. Go there often.

he genie is not inside a bottle. It lies within your consciousness. How do you know if you can trust the genie’s voice? Act on what you hear in your mind, and if the guidance is truly from a higher source, your experience will speak for
To experience a life that is God-guided … one in which you no longer feel the need to look outside yourself for answers … be still. Take a deep breath. Shift your focus, listen, and trust the still, small Voice within.
Sit quietly and ask to know the world beyond yourself And then to you will come a sense of treasure beyond wealth. For now, relax and trust our words as your reality expands. For trust is what this path you’re on so frequently demands. A greater sense of knowingness will be your great reward. For stepping out and trusting, God’s bright light you’re drawn toward.

“What did you feel that time?” can’t respond. I’m overwhelmed by unexpected feelings of dread, cold and fear after inserting my head into the second niche in the wall. Just seconds before, I’d experienced only joy, warmth, and positive energy from placing my head in the first niche on the same wall.
T
Mohammed, my guide and indigenous keeper of ancient Egyptian wisdom, smiles knowingly and bares slightly yellow teeth from years of chewing areca palm nuts wrapped in betel leaves which he assures me serves as a mild stimulant similar to drinking a cup of coffee. Without words, he nods acknowledging that he understands.
“Sakkara was one of the great wonders of Bu Wizzer, the civilization of the first Khemitians or, as we call them today, ancient Egyptians. This vast temple complex was built for healing of the sick through the use of sound.”
Jim Phillips
T
Mohammed tells me that Khemitian pilgrims placed their heads within niches strategically cut into crystal-infused tula limestone walls. A healer-priest(ess) standing on a nearby platform would intone a series of sounds and see a holographic image in their mind’s eye of the patient’s body, a sort of MRI where blood and lymph flow, organs, tissues and energyflows through the nervous system could be seen. Blockages would then become known to the healer and therapy could begin. “Sheer fantasy?” Mohammed asks rhetorically, “Yes, according to the medical profession, but many healing modalities today utilize these same sonic principles …” In his earlier life, Mohammed had been trained as an electrical engineer so I believe him as he continues, “…The Khemitians were masters at production of what we today call piezoelectricity. The word “piezoelectricity” is derived from the Greek word “piezo” which means to squeeze or press. Certain crystals such as the crystal-infused igneous quartz rock used here at Sakkara are highly piezoelectric. When they are compressed or struck, or excited by sound, they generate an electric charge. It can work the other way as well: If you run an electric current through a piezoelectric crystal, the crystal changes shape slightly. This property makes piezoelectric crystals highly desirable for use in liquid crystal displays in flat screen televisions, radio transmitters and receiving devices, and a wide variety of quartz timepieces.”
A
I learn that piezoelectricity has many other useful applications such as in the production and detection of ultrasonic sound, generation of very high voltages, and ultrafine focusing of optical assemblies such as MRI. Another quite recent application is the development of piezoelectric ultrasound surgery which is a minimally invasive technique used to cut mineralized tissue like human bone without harming nearby neurovascular tissue and other soft tissue, thereby maintaining a blood-free operating area, better visibility and greater precision.
s we talk, Mohammed and I slowly amble through the remnants of the temple complex now threatened by the ubiquitous sand of the encroaching desert. We walk past the six-tiered Step Pyramid of Imhotep built for the Third Dynasty Pharaoh Djoser, through the Jubilee Courtyard and several Superman-style temple buildings on the right side of the pyramid, and enter the South House to see the magnificent 4500 year-old blue faience tiles hanging on its walls.
I
explain to Mohammed that I’ve been a sound healer for over 15 years and created the exclusive Total Mind multi-layered audio guidance system to support the listener in extraordinary states of consciousness.
“Is that similar to temple bells that monks in monasteries use to achieve God-consciousness?” asks Mohammed. respond in the affirmative. Magically, we’ve arrived back to the parking lot and our rental van. I take a last long wistful look at the Step Pyramid of Djoser seemingly drowning in the sands of mankind’s ignorance. I wonder out loud if we’ll ever re-discover the lost sound healing technology of Sakkara.

“Ensha’Allah” is Mohhamad’s softly spoken and prayerful reply.

The Law of Sobriety
Attracting
Positive Energy for a Powerful Recovery By Sherry Gaba, LCSW The Law of Sobriety takes the principles of the Law of Attraction and puts them to work for the specific purpose - to help individual’s recover from their addictions, whatever that addiction might be including alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, food, codependency, love, and or shopping. However, in order to understand the Law of Sobriety, you need to understand The Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction states your life is related to your thoughts – both conscious and unconsciously – those thoughts we put out into the universe. Thoughts are a type of energy, and the energy you put out into the world is the same energy you will receive or attract back into your life, both positive and negative.
T
he Law of Sobriety helps you take actions steps in your recovery which essentially means the energy you are putting out into the universe with these positive steps, will be what you attract back in order to have peace, joy, and serenity in your recovery process. That is why it is so important that the thoughts and actions your take align with your path of recovery. Thoughts of fear, rage, and discontent, according to the Law of Attraction will not only keep you from fulfilling your recovery goals, but will be what is attracted back to you. If you live in fear, you will be afraid to try a new career or move on from a bad relationship. It will keep you frozen in misery and anger. If you are living with resentments, you are sure to attract back the same people, places and things that cause you to be resentful. n some ways the Law of Attraction is Positive Psychology meets Metaphysics. Positive Psychology states if you have a positive outlook, you will have a happier and more fulfilling life. Studies in Positive Psychology report certain strengths and virtues enable individuals to thrive. For example, emotions such as zest, gratitude, hope, and love are the most strongly associated with a satisfying life.
I
T
he Law of Sobriety is a program of seven steps that can be combined with twelve step programs or utilized on their own not only to assist in living a life clean and sober, but to live a life that has purpose and meaning. It is about being called forth to do what you were put on this planet to do. The seven steps include: Finding Your Purpose with Intention Living a life that is true to your Values Living a Life of Authenticity Learning to Live in Appreciation, Forgiveness, and Compassion Living a life of Right Action Living with Awareness and Mindfulness Learning to Let Go of Resistance and Attachments ften alcoholics and addicts are not only drinking and using to escape their reality, but to fill their emptiness, pain, and what many in the 12 steps call a “spiritual hole.” They are suffering from a spiritual malady of sorts. It is often said that if they would put the same amount of energy into sobriety as they did obtaining their drug of choice, their recovery would be assured. Addicts and alcoholics are always looking for the “softer and easier” way.
O
The Law of Sobriety may not be easy, but it is simple. Once these action steps are achieved, you will not only experience what it is to be joyous and free, but your life will have more clarity and purpose. You will be able to get a grip on what in life brings you the most fulfillment. Existential questions such as Why am I here? What is my calling? Am I living an authentic life? Do I hide under a false façade? will be resolved. You will get a glimpse of your own unique wisdom and how to tap into it so that you can accomplish the goals you have set for yourself.
The first step, finding your purpose with intention, is about putting your passions into practice. Whatever gifts you were given is to be shared with others. If you are meant to be a writer, go write. If you are meant to be a chef, go cook. It is all about your compelling reason for existing. Without purpose, staying sober without being “dry will be next to impossible. Relapse is almost inevitable when you are not living a life that resonates with who you are. The intention part of this step is once you know what you desire; it is all about going after it with all the energy you can muster. For example, I remember watching Celebrity Rehab 1 several years ago and I told myself I would be on that reality television show no matter what. Through a series of events, I landed a spot on Celebrity Rehab 2, 3, and presently I am working on Celebrity Rehab 4. I knew I had gifts to offer the clients of that program from my work at some of the Malibu rehabs and with high profile clients. My persistence was uncanny and I made it happen.
L
iving a life that is true to your values is identifying what you stand for and are willing to defend. These values are what guide you toward action. It is about releasing the negative belief systems that you might of learned in your family of origin, but creating values that resonate with who you are now. Your personal values allow you to stay grounded. If you are in a bad relationship that could possibly cause you to relapse, then if sobriety is your value, you must step away from that toxic situation.
iving a life of authenticity is allowing your true self to emerge. So often celebrities have this false persona that they portray to the media and their fans, but on the inside they are like scared little children. Authenticity is all about healing that frightened part of you by being really honest with who you are. Often our true self emerges in the midst of crises. If you are contemplating getting sober because you have lost everything, now is the time to do it and to embrace the true essence of who you were always meant to be.
L
Learning to live in appreciation, forgiveness, and compassion are interrelated. Once you learn to forgive yourself and others, releasing all the shame you have been carrying, finding your purpose will be much easier. You will have opened up a space in your heart for true compassion which can only lead to a profound appreciation for your sobriety. When your heart is open, anything and everything is possible. I have seen many clients release their resentments towards people, places, and things letting them go allowing for positive changes to occur. iving a life of right action is living a life that aligns with your essence, no one else’s. You are here to follow a path that is essentially yours, and yours alone. If people, places, or things are taking you off that path, get back on it by getting rid of what is causing you to stray. Obviously if your addiction is taking you away from what you truly want, then it is time for you to embrace the Law of Sobriety and attract back into your life exactly what you deserve.
L
L
iving with awareness and mindfulness is selfexplanatory. It is about living your life one moment at a time. The founders of the twelve steps must have divinely known that living “One day at a time” was all an addict or alcoholic could tolerate. Often one of the personality characterics of someone who has the disease of addiction is their difficulty staying out of the past or future in their thoughts. It is much easier not to be judgmental of yourself if you are living mindfully in the moment. There is nothing to perseverate in the moment is there? The moment is perfect just as it is. inally, learning to let go of resistance and attachments is about not being glued to having things turn out exactly as you envisioned them to be. It is about being open and willing to whatever comes your way so that you do not live in perpetual disappointment when things don’t go your way. I always thought that I would only be working with single parents when I graduated from my social worker program. I had no idea I would end up working in addictions. Once I became open to wherever my career was going to take me, more opportunities came forth.

HEALING
WITH LOVE by Beth Cosmos
All the great mystics, avatars and holy ones are here to anchor the Uncreated Light for humanity to play out their mission, to be a light in the Universe. Whether you work with a guru or a priest, a Lakota holy person or a Quero shaman, a monk of Mount Athos or a QiGong master – no matter – these individuals all over the world, some quiet, some walking amongst you, have come to bring in the Uncreated Light for the earth and all of her inhabitants.
W
hat is our role? It is to become pure vessels and luminous bodies of Divine Light – the Uncreated Light, the Source of All that is.
I
n a spiritual path one finds a practice that feels good, that makes you happy, that gives you guidance. These paths have practices that bring peace and balance. Spiritual practices are about shedding away the parts that no longer serve us, that block us from feeling the Light. The practice or movement of removing these obstacles is best known by the term “healing.”
ealing is self-examination and emotional release – to correct a situation that causes distress. Healing is concerned with one’s self to regain the sense of loss of interconnections and make whole for your benefit and the good of the community – self-transformation. As Gandhi said, “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him…”
H
Presently, we are witnessing a reawakening and reconnecting of the self to feel and attune to the energetic world. Many are taking the path to healing. Personal healing takes a dedication and perseverance.
How often have you heard that healing is each person’s birthright and that everyone has the capacity to heal? When one chooses the path to heal, an opportunity opens to reevaluate the meaning of life. To heal is to bring into sharper focus the situation that creates distress, not as a helpless victim, but rather as an empowered participant. The great teachers do not accept passivity from those who are seeking healing. Personal healing or growth requires discipline in spiritual practices and the proverb “Know yourself” will become clear.
There are too numerous paths of healing to mention all. nergy healings are methods of working with Divine Light and Love. Some are ancient and others have surfaced from individual desire to understand energy healing. In Earth history, there are references from many cultures to the Divine Light and Love actively involved in human experiences. Many of these energy techniques have been on Earth for a long time; however, awareness was not always open to exploration of these healing energies. In the more recent past, there has been a reintroduction of these techniques into the world, and they have been openly and lovingly received.
E
The physical world we live in is a world of matter composed of energy. As souls, we are energy in a physical dimension. Therefore, this matter that we are and that we live in can be affected by energy. Pure energy for healing purposes has been offered to humankind as the planet and its people have evolved to a sensibility open to the ancientness and foreverness of energy healings. have for over 30 years been actively focused on personal healing. Energy healing became a natural extension and a strong interest in my quest for balance and peace. Early on in my seeking I was introduced to Ama-Deus. This title is Latin meaning “to Love God. Ama-Deus, like many healing techniques, enhances our spiritual growth and awareness, and supports our physical and emotional healing. The Ama-Deus energy (Divine Love) can be used to assist, to enhance, and to expand the human experience in the physical reality.
I
My experience with healing on any level is that without the component of Love, there is no healing. Love is the great assimilator. The experience of love creates the desire to know the Source as a continual living experience. The need to connect with others, to love and be loved during our earthly experience, is a force that directs us back to the Source.
With Ama-Deus, one taps directly into the energy flow of Love, accessing a stream of consciousness, an originally Uncreated Energy, as the name implies to Love God, which is enhanced and expanded by all who have ever used it. After invoking the energy, one is able to use this source of energy for self-healing, or to transmit to others through the hands, or via distance healing treatment. Ama-Deus primarily helps to smooth, stabilize, balance, and bring tranquility as a gentle subtle energy adapting to circumstances and offering what is needed. AmaDeus has the purpose for and is used to support the healing process. The energy of love is so powerful that its radiance lights every dimension of consciousness eliminating any shadows.
A
s we choose to do our healing, love supports and gives strength for accomplishing our task. This support and strength is recognizable. For example, how often have you felt “in love”, causing us to let go irritating events or brush off negative situations? We instead take on an air of indifference or nonchalance. Why? Love not only lifts us up, but also carries us through the healing process. n the summer of 2012, a self-published book Ama-Deus: Healing with the Sacred Energy of the Universe entered the market. This came in direct response to the growing demand to embrace this ancient healing practice. A healing practice rooted in Love. When first laying the foundation for this book, literary editors, agents, critics and close friends repeated the question “who is your audience, what is the theme?” and I responded with a big smile, “Everyone, it is about Love!” “NO, no, no this cannot be, the theme of Love will not work, and focus on a particular audience…” Several attempts were made to fit the material into the contemporary literary style, focus and theme suggested; however, repeatedly the manuscript returned to the premise that this is about Love, and the audience is for all.
I
And so it came to be… ma-Deus has been preserved for thousands of years by a particular tribe of Guarani in South America. Alberto Costas Aguas, a worldrenowned energy healer from Brazil, who after several years in exile, returned to his native land and found himself working with this tribe of Guarani. The Guarani recognized him as a great healer and the one they were expecting, and initiated him into their sacred ways and transferred to him their ancient wisdom.
A
Ama-Deus Healing with the Sacred Energy of the Universe is a story of the Guarani, who for thousands of years held on to this knowledge until the time came to share with the world how to heal with Love. Both the Guarani and Alberto believe that Love is in all healing. Alberto Aguas, who risked his life to preserve this knowledge, brought it to North America, where my story of healing with this ancient wisdom begins. believe we are all created with a sole purpose to love and be loved. In thinking of love, my thoughts take me to the highest source of existence, what is understood to be the Source of All that Is. Then love becomes Love. Love is in everything and is all things. From a transpersonal or soul perspective, Love keeps all that exists joined to the Source of All that Is.
I
Whatever spiritual technique or method of practice that you are using, recognize that Love is the most important ingredient. And as the great holy people of our times hold in place the Light let us rejoice in practice knowing that Love will circle the earth aiding transformation for all.

We have so much to be thankful for like water, air, land, a home, food, family, computers, phones, pets and more. We spend a lot time in our cars, at work, on computers, phones, playing games to the point of isolation. The fast pace and convenience of today’s technology is literally sidetracking us from the very energy we are meant to be engaged with. The earth offers an exchange with our energy field that is fundamental to our existence.

e are reliant on the Earth for far more than her natural resources and gravity. When the brain and nervous system create human magnetic fields it is like electricity passing through a metal wire causing an energy field or magnetic field. When we go outside and walk barefoot or sit on the ground we are recharging our batteries. Billions of nerve impulses in the human body are constantly creating complex human magnetic fields. Even science has proven that the human heart is a source of electro-magnetism that can be measured six feet out from the body. This is also the amount of distance the aura normally spans around our body. n spring we are busy getting ready to plant gardens and grow crops for the New Year. Our exchange with the Earth’s energy provides a union of hands and heart with the soil revitalizing both. The Earth receives our energy as unconditionally as she gives. We can recognize the

love that comes back to us through the plants that sprout despite the rain or cold. We pour our love into the soil nurturing the seeds we sow. This nourishes the planet and is your energy feeding her. There would not be so many people on the Earth if she were uncaring. The hard part for humans to understand is the Earth lives in a perpetual state of balance, constantly shifting and moving to find that centered state in her body. We take it personally when she erupts with a volcano or shakes the ground as she shifts her tectonic plates, but this not about us. It is about her and the difficult job she has managing a body with the radius of 3,959 miles. Our job is to be the caretakers of this blue planet. We have quite the task ahead for our children and future generations.

The way each one of us can contribute is to remember our cultural roots and get your hands back in the soil! Take time to give her your gratitude and prayers as you plant your flowers and prepare your field. Our caretaking the Earth might be a small bit of land and for others a much larger property that takes time and energy. Just remember the plants and trees hear your thoughts and prayers as does the land they are rooted in. Everything around you is in concert with a much larger energy field. Your energy is doing a dance that lasts your whole life with nature. Be creative and add words to that choreography talking to the water, trees, plants and soil. Give back to the Earth your generous love, the same love you have for your family and children, pets and friends.
