Site: Flagstaff Gardens, Melbourne, Victoria (2019)

Libraries for future have to negotiate their role in modern society where physical books are fading out and book owning culture is shifting to book accessing through electronic devices. To deal with that challenge, this project reconcepted the library as a hub of knowledge and added gallery and forum into conventional library functional program. With the new program, the library now is no longer a ivory for learners, but in fact it takes new roles such as connecting people through Gathering Forum and spread out knowledge through Exhibiting Gallery. Meanwhile, the studying area is maintained at a high percentage to keep the authentic value of the library as a place to study.

Inspiring from the success of Guggenheim museum in Bilbao by Frank Gehry, this project attempted to revitalising an old industrial precinct by creating a tourist attraction focal point from swirling ribbons.

The design process is a iteration of drafting models. There are 4 key stages to develop the idea.

The project is a compact accommodation with hotel and appartment facing to the ocean. From the master plan of senior archtiect, I was given a chance to propose facade design.

Project -Bus station - retail project - District 5, Hochiminh city Stage: Concept design

The exsiting interchange bus station locates in China town of Hochiminh city where is donimant by small retail business and big retail center often loses in the competition. But the investor cooperated with the goverment to reconstruct the station with uper rental retail.

Therefore, the challenge was defined that bring people to the area.

From the fact that the local area are lacking of green space and gathering space, our team came up with an idea that creating a community space which attract local people to the new retail space. Further, continuous vertical circulation and accessibility to 1st basement and 1st floor are priority.

The site is constrain by an crossing road, and its tremendous length.

The idea came up with cluster solution. The autrium between building potentially become gathering public space.

Later, masses were shifted to create free area which later become green space.

Site: CuChi, Hochiminh city, Vietnam.

Design challenge:

Hot climate. - extreme afternoon temperature.

Solution to reduce extreme heat:

• Planting palms in the South elevation to create shadow but still allow wind access from this direction.

• Cooling the breeze in the South by a small pool.

• The roof slopes down from the North to the South to eliminate direct sunlight.

• Laundry and balcony in the West aim to reduce high heat in the afternoon

I need to have a collective of skills and understanding such as:

Hand sketch: help me efficiently propose different plans quickly with inspirational sketch lines.

Minimum distance between desk and wall (1050 mm), 2 desks: 2000 mm, door clearance: 110 mm in hinged side, 530 mm glass panel on handle sides, and 1450 mm clearance for both side and 920mm opening.

Number of workstations to NLA. The common ratio is 10-13 sqm for a workstation.

By using Design Option in Revit, I can present different design options within 1 files.

My favourite technique is using patterns to generate ideas for fit-out plan. In this project, I used circle pattern from internet and try to trace and bring to layout plan. The curve becomes a feature curtain combine with planter boxes effectivly soften the space.
