In an increasingly urban planet there is a growing need for daily contact with nature . Biophilic spaces are based on the concept of biophilia, popularized by E.O. Wilson who argues that humans have co-evolved with nature and we have a inner need to connect with and affiliate with nature to be happy and healthy. This emerging concept has helped to increase interest in nodes of natural environments. Public Parks are the most common types of biophilic places, however, they often are not true natural environments due to the lack of balance between social and natural functions, and the economic needs of such spaces. In the following we identify a pathway that can help in this necessary balance between natural and social interactions enhancing at the same time biophilic urbanism and resilience.
