EDITOR’S LETTER
As I sit in my office and write this letter, I am already incredibly excited for what winter and 2022 will bring. Even though it is before Christmas and there is that overwhelming feeling of what still needs to be done, not only for the holidays with shopping, parties and wrapping but I have a Christmas baby. My daughter was born Dec. 20th. I always feel I need to do a little extra for her at this time because her birthday tends to be overshadowed each year with Christmas. We just came back from a mother daughter fun filled weekend in New York celebrating the magic of the city during the holidays. Winter for me is many things; it is the beginning of a new year, a time to renew and become inspired for the year ahead. We have many inspiring stories and business owners in this issue who share their journey. Kat and Landon Eckles who started clean Juice share their trial and tribulations from a start up to over 114 stores nationwide. Michael Gallis inspires us to make simple changes that may be impactful on our environment and future in the article The Wolf has Arrived. Winter brings the opportunity to start anew in 2022, and we’re including a little bit of everything to innovate and inspire in the world of business, beauty, fashion, gorgeous travel locations and trends in wellness. Travel is always good for the soul and we share beautiful Bermuda and winter wonderland St. Moritz in our escape section. We also are debuting a new section Lux Locations highlighting wonderful new stores, restaurants and go to now events in our local communities. In the spirit of embracing the winter our Editor at Large Kellie Delaney of KDHamptons stays in the celebratory mood with an Icy Hot winter soiree. Without further adieu, I invite you to unwind by the fire (or under the palm tree) with a glass of bubbly and enjoy our latest issue; that’s where I’ll be if you need me.

THE WORLD OF ANNA SUI
a major retrospective of the iconic fashion designer, November 20, 2021- May 1, 2022, at its Mint Museum Randolph location. The exhibition — presented by PNC Bank — provides a look inside the creative process of Sui, who recently was featured in T: The New York Times Style Magazine’s 2021 Greats issue and is known for her mastery of street-chic style from mod to punk, surfer to bohemian. The World of Anna Sui is organized by the Fashion and Textile Museum, London and curated by Dennis Nothdruft, head of exhibitions at the Fashion and Textile Museum, London. The first iteration of the exhibition debuted at the Fashion and Textile Museum, London in the summer of 2017, and has toured the globe, from New York City to Shanghai to Tokyo. The Mint Museum’s iteration — curated by Annie Carlano, the Mint’s senior curator of Craft, Design, & Fashion — is the last stop for the exhibition’s current international tour. It presents more than 100 looks from the designer’s archives, with a roll call of archetypes that capture the Sui aesthetic, such as rockstar, Americana, fairytale, grunge, retro and nomad. It is the first full fashion exhibition at The Mint Museum to be devoted to a woman’s body of work, as well as the first dedicated to an Asian American designer. As the museum celebrates the 85th anniversary of its founding, the exhibition brings to life aspects of The Mint Museum’s evolution. For tickets visit www.mintmuseum.org

Designing the tabletop decor is my favorite part of planning an event, and the best place to shop for exclusive pieces (pictured above) in the Hamptons is at East Hampton Gardens. Treating guests to decadent cuisine and decor makes the festivities much more memorable.

WESTPORT COUNTRY PLAYHOUSE
Westport Country Playhouse announces its upcoming 92nd Season, from April to November 2022, featuring five productions, staged before a live audience, under the artistic direction of Mark Lamos. “The season will make you feel, think, and spark conversation,” said Lamos. “Some amazing artists have been assembled to deliver great theater experiences,” said Lamos. “Choreographer Camille A. Brown and a thrilling design team will create a brand new production of ‘Ain’t Misbehavin’’ that will feature the music of Fats Waller, a large cast, and lots of dancing; Marcos Santana, who directed and choreographed ‘In the Heights’ in 2019, will give us a blazing interpretation of the groundbreaking musical, ‘Next to Normal.’” Lamos continued, “And our other three shows are knock-outs. David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director, will helm Amy Herzog's beautiful, insightful play about generational divide, ‘4000 Miles’; I'll be exploring Young Jean Lee's exuberant and extraordinary ‘Straight White Men’; and our season will conclude with a moving, joyful celebration of spirit-- Endesha Ida Mae Holland's thrilling ‘From the Mississippi Delta.’ “The season invites us to experience lives like--and unlike--our own,” Lamos added. GREENWICH REAL ESTATE MARKET
Over 1,000 Sales in Greenwich Makes 2021 an All-time Record – A good year in the Greenwich real estate market is when we have over 600 home sales; in 2021 we had over 1,000 sales. What’s truly amazing about this is it happened with record low inventory throughout the year, but particularly in the second half of the year. Had more new listings come on the market in the second half of the year we would have had many more sales as you can see from our months of supply. Anything less than 6 months of supply is considered a seller’s market. Pre-Covid our months of supply were as high as 51 months with an overall market average of 12 months of supply. By the end of 2021, we were down to only 2.5 months of supply overall. What was really amazing was that the high-end market from $5 – 10 million our months of supply was down to
only 5.0 months when in 2019, in the pre-Covid era, it had been over 2 years of supply. This dramatic drop was driven by a 238% jump in sales from 2019 to 2021. With inventory coming on after the new year, we should see a jump in sales and contract. Having good professional advisors has become key in the market for buyers. CAPTURED MOMENTS BRIAN SAGER FINE ART
Brian was initially drawn to photography by the access a camera offers to
unique moments in time. He used the camera as a vessel to explore the world around him. Participating in thousand mile, or longer, sailing trips, often sailing from Nantucket down to the Caribbean, it was impossible not to notice how much plastic waste was in the ocean, even when he was hundreds of miles from land. The ability to use his camera to capture and share these experience’s with others galvanized his desire to continue capturing and sharing unique elements of the world. Brian’s work can be seen and purchased on Nantucket through the Artist Association of Nantucket, Thomas Macy Gallery, and other gallery and retail outlets on Nantucket. He is also in the process of opening a brick & mortar gallery in early 2022, in the village of Cohasset, MA. www.BrianSagerFineArt.com

POLPO
Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, a luxury oceanside retreat on Florida’s Gold Coast, announced it will debut Polpo Palm Beach, the second outpost of the legendary Greenwich, Conn. restaurant. Set to open this winter, Polpo, which translates to “octopus,” will bring acclaimed restaurateur Ron Rosa’s authentic Italian and seafood-focused menu from the Tri-State area to South Florida, a destination known for its fresh catch and beloved by snowbird travelers. Polpo Palm Beach will transport guests to Rosa’s native Calabria, Italy through upscale fare inspired by regional dishes, an Italian-influenced wine selection, handcrafted cocktails, and classic aperitivos and digestivos. Led by Eau Palm Beach’s Executive Chef Neall Bailey, Polpo Palm Beach will anchor a new era for the resort as it undergoes a resort-wide reimagination to become the area’s most distinctive year-round culinary destination. “Eau Palm Beach’s partnership with Ron and Dominque Rosa is undoubtedly a perfect union,” said Tim Nardi, General Manager, Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. “We are excited to share the synergy between Polpo’s storied gastronomy and our expertise in impeccable hospitality with guests looking for a memorable culinary experience. As we undergo an extensive reimagination, Polpo Palm Beach will be a focal point of Eau Palm Beach’s new chapter.”

SYNERGIE SKIN + FOUNDER TERRI VINSON
A
As a female scientist, and clean science
advocate, Terri Vinson, Founder, Formulator, and Cosmetic Chemist of Synergie Skin, saw a significant gap in the skincare market for highly effective products free from any potentially harmful ingredients that delivered transparency and consumer education. With a background in biology and chemistry, a passion for studying the effect of topical ingredients on skin cells, and the ability to take a formula from inception to shelf, Terri created Synergie Skin. Founded in 2005, the certified cruelty-free brand quickly bloomed and became internationally recognized for formulas that are created with evidence based active ingredients.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE TOCCARE? I wanted to create a special space for my valued clientele where they could come and get good honest advice about their skin care and self care needs without feeling pressured.
HOW DO YOU DETERMINE PRODUCTS AND TREATMENT PROGRAMS FOR YOUR CLIENTS? Our focus is on non-invasive treatments, and helping our clients make educated decisions when it comes to what they put on their bodies. So while we are constantly scouting and

The beauty industry is focused so heavily on change, aggressive and overwhelming treatments, and seeing ourselves through a lens that needs to be corrected. I believe beauty is about learning to care for, nurture, and be kind to what we see in the mirror.
THE FIVE (OR ANY NUMBER) PRODUCTS THAT SHOULD FORM THE FOUNDATION FOR ANY EFFECTIVE DAILY SKINCARE ROUTINE? I'm a minimalist when it comes to my daily beauty ritual so I'll mention 3. A good oil based cleanser, a vitamin C serum, and a layer of protection whether that be an oil or moisturizer that's most suitable for your skin type.
CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT PRODUCT? For me, personally, it's the Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm. It's a unique texture in that it feels like a balm but melts down to an oil-like feel when pressed against the skin. It's light-weight yet provides intense moisture, and also helps tone down redness.

IN A PINCH, BEST MULTI USE PRODUCT? The Cupu cool balm from Lil Fox. It can be used as a cleanser, moisturizer, or face mask. I'm a sucker for a dual action product.

The difference between the assets and the liabilities is known as equity, or the net worth of the company. Equity must equal assets minus liabilities. Looking at the equation in this way shows how assets were financed: either by borrowing money (liability) or by using the owner’s money (owner’s or shareholders’ equity). The two sections must balance, hence the name of this financial statement.

READY, SET, GO! “The first step of any tablescape is deciding on an overall color scheme for the event and table. The apartment where I hosted my dinner party has deep navy blue walls, romantic overhead lighting, and a beautiful farmhouse-style wooden table where we would be eating, so we chose to lean into that,” shares Nina.
“My menu always informs what flatware to choose. I like to serve healthier dishes and worked with Little Gem catering to make an elevated family-style buffet, which left more room on the table to build out the florals and decor which I designed with PopUp Florist.”

WINTER LAYERS “We chose navy blue dinner napkins to match the space as well as brushed gold flatware to go with the rustic farmhouse vibe of the table. We initially considered a white tablecloth, but the wood table in the space was just too pretty to be covered. Often less is more when creating your tablescape, so I always look at how we can refine different aspects once I set the table.”
SAY MY NAME “I also always choose to put out name cards at larger group dinners because I like to bring together friends from different groups who may not know each other. Place cards ensure everyone mingles and meets new people, and makes for an even more fun dinner for everyone since you leave having met someone new!”
FLOWER POWER “The floral design is always one of the most exciting elements of creating a tablescape for me. Working with Popup Florist, we selected a palette of deep red and burgundy flowers, as well as mismatched vases in different colors and sizes to add pops of color to the space without feeling too serious or overly styled.”

GETTING LIT “Once the table is set and florals are placed, the final touches of accessorizing can happen. The lighting in the space was really soft and moody, so we added a bunch of different sized candles all around the room to make the space feel super cozy and also lit perfectly for photos. Candles are always a really great add for dinner tablescapes, but you can also work with other greenery, ribbons, confetti, or even candy as table decor for daytime events.”
BE YOUR GUEST The energy of any great event is set by the hostess. Don’t stress if a guest doesn’t show, or the apple tart gets a tad overcooked. Go with the flow and a smile, and no one will notice the difference. “Enjoy the tablescape and the friends you’ve brought around it,” shares Nina.

Combined with a humanitarian heart, these qualities culminate in a brand that appreciates the nuances of its craft, history, and the human experiences that go into each glass. Here are two of my favorite recipes using their offerings:
THE CAROLINA MULE INGREDIENTS • 1.5 oz Hope Town Lime Vodka • 6 oz Ginger Beer • Mint • Lime Wedges INSTRUCTIONS Find yourself a 100% copper cup for the best and most classic taste. Then bruise 1-3 mint leaves at the bottom of the glass. If you don’t have a tool to bruise them, gently roll them between your finger and thumb a few times until they effervesce that savory mint smell, then drop them into the cup. Add a heap of ice. Pour Hopetown lime vodka and ginger beer, then garnish with a wedge or wheel of lime. Hopetown’s lime vodka is subtle and tastes of freshly squeezed fruit, not harsh or artificial, which makes the lime wedge purely for looks, or perhaps an extra tart kick for the adventurous. It’s sweet, bubbly, aromatic, and refreshing for any time of the year.

For inspiration for his next community, he traveled to Cotswolds and Prince Charles’s Poundbury in England. David set out to one-up Prince Charles and build a superior, authentic European townhome community called “Chipping Campden” in Charlotte. The 15 luxury cottage-style residences feature slate roofs, stone exteriors, wrought iron window boxes, and carriage-style oak garage doors. A stunning English garden is the central focal point. Another step back into time to be cherished for perpetuity.
Pellyn Wood also became home to an enclave of 17 French Provencal limestone exterior cottages; he called “Courance.” This parcel of land was hilly and in a flood plain. But that did not deter David. He spent $1.5M to remove the bad soil and build a central pond. The entire community shares cobblestone streets, waterfalls, and gas-lit street lamps. The interiors are for a Francophile’s utter delight, featuring French doors, authentic historically designed see-through fireplaces, and La Cornue stoves. One of the estate homes even has a wooden bridge, as if in a fairytale. Such a fairytale that Gwyneth Paltrow lived there during the shooting of Shallow Hal. “When I was finished devel-

HAUTE HABITAT WHAT IS YOUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY? My design motto is that your home should feel like “jeans with a silk shirt and a cashmere sweater.” To me, that means a casualness yet luxurious design that feels comfortable and inviting, with a glamour and aesthetic that is special and inspiring. This home has all that. There is no room that is off limits. As beautiful as all these spaces are they are very livable and stylish at the same time. Our designs always reflect the client, and I encourage them to share my philosophy to enjoy every room in the house.
WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE THAT HAS IMPACTED YOUR LIFE AS A DESIGNER? You only go around once, so live your best life. Life is not a dress rehearsal.
DESIGNING SO MANY HOMES IN GREENWICH, MANHATTAN AND PALM BEACH, WHAT IS THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IN DESIGN FOR EACH AND OR WHAT IS THE COMMON THREAD? The common thread in all my homes is quality and comfort. The colors and textures vary in projects based on location and light. I always have emphasized “inside/outside homes.” I integrate a project’s location and views into the home’s interiors. Each Rinfret, Ltd. project has its own uniquely curated mix of color, art and accessories that is influenced by the client’s personality and the location. The architecture of the home and each client’s lifestyle speaks to me and directly informs the direction and design of the project.
IS THERE A CURRENT TREND ARE YOU OVER? WHAT CURRENT TREND CAN YOU NOT GET ENOUGH OF? I don’t follow trends and my designs tend to be more tailored and less fussy. At Rinfret, Ltd. we are dedicated to quality and an aesthetic of timeless comfort is the priority.
WHAT DESIGN ELEMENTS ARE IMPORTANT TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN CREATING A SPACE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY TO ENJOY TOGETHER? I personally want my clients to enjoy every room in their home. I embrace all that our homes offer, from the lifestyle of the family pet to creating destination spots for entertaining. Anything too precious is avoided so clients never feel afraid to use a space. Rinfret, Ltd. designs always have something to discover and we give lots of reasons to enjoy each area of your home. My rooms touch all the senses – sight, smell, touch! I love great throws to cuddle up, as well as scented candles in every room and always a bar or drinks table. I am a golden retriever lover and even that informs my designs! Pets are family and a way of life for many of our clients. We embrace that and build pets beds into our projects.

WHO OR WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST INFLUENCE? My greatest influence of my entire life and career has been travel. It’s so important to see new influences, history and inspiration. Travel is my drug of choice. Always finding somewhere new to discover keeps you curious and inspired.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE DESIGN PROJECT? I must say creating the duplex at The Plaza was very special. This is an iconic building. I had the pleasure of working for a month on a mural in the turret overlooking Central Park with Hillary Knight, the illustrator of Eloise at The Plaza! He was so wonderful and even signed an “Eloise” book for my daughter.
HOW HAS YOUR STYLE CHANGED OVER THE YEARS? My style has not changed but “developed.” The more you travel and see the more inspired you become. I think my work is a bit more tailored but definitely more interesting in its details. “The devil is in the detail.” People say what they love about my work is that my rooms don’t scream out and you see everything at first glance. The more you are in my rooms, the more you see the subtle beautiful details. Our rooms always feel collected like life -- your interiors should reflect the collected influences in your life.
WHAT MAKES GREENWICH STYLE UNIQUE? Greenwich Style is elegant and classic and collected. My clients in Greenwich and elsewhere all have lived very fortunate lives, been generally well educated and exposed to the best. My book “Greenwich Style” reflects these privileges. I like to say our designs are similar to Hermes or Lora Piana, always understatedly stylish and always appropriate, comfortable and interesting .
WHAT IS THE SECRET TO BLENDING ANTIQUES AND TRANSITIONAL PIECES? The secret to blending antiques and new pieces is scale, accessorizing and the mix of art. Pure anything is boring. It’s the mix of history and beautiful fabrics blended with clean lines that create a unique and confidant interior. Antiques infuse a room with history and style -- this is what sets great design apart and creates a bespoke experience. www.rinfretltd.com Volume 6, Issue 1 | www.LuxLifestyle-magazine.com

Bermuda’s beautiful scenery, pleasant climate, and relaxed pace of life have long made Bermuda an ideal escape from the trials and tribulations of daily life. In fact, health concerns were the cause of Princess Louise’s first trip to Bermuda from Canada, where her husband the Duke of Argyll was serving as Governor. Likewise, your perfect vacation to Bermuda will certainly include ample time for rest and relaxation. From seaside dining in the refreshing open air to lazy dips in the Great Sound, you will feel the stress and strain of the modern world melt away under Bermuda’s sunshine and blue skies. There are only a few places in the world that have pink sand beaches and Bermuda is famous for them. Long before instagram, the stunning shoreline has inspired amateur and pro photographers alike to capture the beauty of the shoreline. The beaches here are are even more breathtaking in person.
To unknot as well as unwind, you can book a massage at the Natura Spa at Grotto Bay Beach Resort. A truly one-of-a-kind sensory journey, the Grotto Bay’s Serenity Cave Experience has been described by customers as profoundly spiritual and sublimely healing. This massage occurs in an entirely natural and unaltered on-site cave. You will relax entirely during this treatment while gazing down into the crystal clear but turquoise-tinged mineral water pools collecting naturally in the cave. The Natura Spa capitalizes on all elements of this wonderous ecological setting, respecting and embracing all of its primal features including the hypnotic sound of echoing water drips.

For a golfer, there’s no vacation like a warm-weather winter golfing vacation. And for that sunny escape, there’s no destination like Streamsong Resort in inland central Florida. This isn’t the Florida of amusement parks and crowded beaches. Instead, Streamsong features 16,000 acres of world-class golf with three courses in a serene natural environment, far from the noise and bustle of the coasts. Your Streamsong getaway is as busy or relaxed as you want to make it. Besides the impeccable golf courses, there’s bass fishing, bird-watching on nature trails, shooting sports and tennis. Most, however, come for the golf. And does Streamsong ever have it! It starts with central Florida’s exceptional golf-friendly sand sites. Two intersecting courses, Streamsong Red and Streamsong Blue, have been engineered to make the most of this unique terrain. The spectacular fairways and greens were designed by Bill Coore, Ben Crenshaw and Tom Doak’s Renaissance Gold Design. Recently, these courses have been regrassed with Mach 1 ultradwarf Bermudagrass, a modern blend that ensures smooth ball roll across uniform growth patterns. The drought-tolerant, heat-tolerant turfgrass is the ideal choice to withstand the challenging Florida summers and present the ultimate golfing carpet to Streamsong’s winter guests. 2017 saw the addition of a third course, Streamsong Black, designed by Gil Hanse, who also architected The Olympic Course in Rio de Janeiro. That same year introduced The Gauntlet, a two-acre putting course, and The Roundabout, a complex of several greens and practice holes. PROTECTING AFRICA’S REMAINING NATURAL SPACES
Space for Giants addresses climate pressures to ensure a future for people and wildlife Africa is home to some of the most biodiverse ecosystems left on Earth and they are disappearing at an alarming and accelerating rate. If these wondrous national parks and conservation areas are not protected now, they will be lost forever. There is hope. Space for Giants works with national and community partners throughout Africa to preserve and restore some of the world’s most important natural ecosystems and the wildlife they hold. Unwavering in their commitment, they are strengthening our collective response to achieve a meaningful impact. Humanity can no longer dream about the world that was. Urgent action must be taken now to ensure these wild spaces survive long into the future.
Space for Giants is an international conservation organisation that protects Africa’s remaining natural ecosystems and the large wild animals they contain, while bringing major social and economic value to local communities and national governments. It is headquartered in Kenya, works in ten countries in Africa, and is registered as a charity in the UK and a 501c3 non profit in the US.
