A TIMELESS CELEBRATION OF LEGACY, INNOVATION, AND THE ART OF WHISKY MAKING

A TOAST TO LEGACY

In the gilded realm of fine spirits, there are rare moments when craftsmanship transcends time. Enter Johnnie Walker Aged 52 Years, an ultra-rare blend that redefines the art of whisky making. With only 200 bottles gracing the world, this extraordinary release is a celebration of legacy, ingenuity, and flavor.

Crafted with liquid from distilleries both active and shuttered, this 52-year-old expression is a harmonious symphony of history and innovation. Each drop is a tribute to Johnnie Walker founder John Walker and his son, Alexander Walker, honoring their lifetimes through a blend that matches their shared age. It’s a poetic nod to the past, meticulously brought to life by Johnnie Walker’s first female master blender, Dr. Emma Walker.

“Alongside my small team of whisky experts, we hand-selected some of our oldest and most precious casks for this masterful blend,” Dr. Walker shares. “Our goal was to honor the Walkers’ achievements with a whisky that embodies their spirit of excellence.”

A RARE ALCHEMY

The journey of this whisky begins with Highland single malts and Lowland single grain whiskies, aged for over five decades. Among them are the ghost distilleries of Cambus and Carsebridge, infusing the blend with velvety notes of vanilla, butterscotch, and a whisper of spice. Glenury Royal and

Glenlochy bring depth with flavors of berries and confectionery fruits, while Brora—a once-silent distillery now reborn—lends its signature smoke and complexity.

Blair Athol introduces bright fruit notes of raisins, currants, and orange peel, while Dalwhinnie’s subtle salinity balances the blend. Finally, Glen Albyn’s richness and hints of cured meat round out the profile, crafting a whisky as multifaceted as the Walkers’ storied legacy.

EXCLUSIVITY MEETS ELEGANCE

Presented in a hand-blown decanter, each bottle of Johnnie Walker Aged 52 Years is a masterpiece in its own right, retailing at an opulent £23,500 (US$25,000). Bottled at 41.2% ABV, this blend is available through Diageo’s private client teams and select luxury retailers.

For collectors and connoisseurs alike, this whisky is more than a drink—it’s an experience. With each sip, one embarks on a journey through Scotland’s history, guided by the craftsmanship that has defined Johnnie Walker for over two centuries.

As the world’s leading Scotch whisky brand, Johnnie Walker continues to evolve, offering a blend of heritage and innovation. This 52-year-old release not only elevates the art of whisky making but also sets a new benchmark for luxury.

Here’s to savoring history, one exquisite pour at a time.

Tiffany & Co. Has Announced the Acquisition of a Titanic Piece of History.

THE TIMEPIECE, CREATED BY THE RETAILER IN THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY, IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE PIECE OF MEMORABILIA FROM THE HISTORIC SHIP EVER SOLD.

Images courtesy of Tiffany & Co.

Tiffany & Co. has added a remarkable chapter to its illustrious history with the acquisition of a pocket watch of extraordinary provenance.

The LVMH-owned brand recently secured this piece of history at a Henry Aldridge & Son Ltd. auction in the U.K., paying $1.97 million for a timepiece it originally retailed in 1912. This acquisition solidifies the watch as the most expensive piece of Titanic-related memorabilia ever sold.

This palm-sized treasure tells a powerful story of survival and gratitude. It was originally purchased from Tiffany & Co. by three prominent society women of the era: Madeleine Talmage Astor, Marian Longstreth Thayer, and Eleanor Elkins Widener. Their connection? They were all survivors of the Titanic disaster.

The stories of these women resonate deeply. Mrs. Astor, whose husband, John Jacob Astor IV, tragically perished on the ship, became one of the tragedy's most recognized figures. Mrs. Thayer, wife of Pennsylvania Railroad Company director John Borland Thayer II, and Mrs. Widener, wife of Philadelphia Traction Company head George Dunton Widener (who also perished along with their eldest son, Harry Elkins Widener), shared the harrowing experience of surviving the sinking. In an act of profound gratitude, these three women gifted the pocket watch to Captain Arthur H. Rostron of the R.M.S. Carpathia, the ship that bravely rescued nearly 700 souls from the icy waters in April 1912.

The watch bears a poignant inscription that further cements its historical significance: “Presented to Captain Rostron with the heartfelt gratitude and appreciation of three survivors of the Titanic April 15th, 1912, Mrs. John B. Thayer, Mrs. John Jacob Aster, and Mrs. George D. Widener,” along with Captain Rostron’s initials, “AHR.” The date, of course, marks the day the Titanic met its tragic fate in the North Atlantic.

While the $1.97 million price tag may seem substantial, it's important to consider the value of such a significant piece of history. In today's market, some modern watches command even higher prices, making this acquisition a strategic move for Tiffany & Co. Heritage departments are increasingly vital for established brands, serving not only as archives but also as powerful tools for storytelling, publicity, and museum-quality displays.

As Tiffany & Co. executive Christopher Young explains, “Tiffany & Co. jewelry and objects have been a cornerstone of global luxury since the mid-nineteenth century, and that Tiffany was entrusted to help give thanks in the wake of the unthinkable Titanic tragedy reminds us of our humble role in the lives of our clients. Captain Rostron’s pocket watch is an incredible expression of thanks and gratitude, and we are humbled to welcome this extraordinary treasure home to Tiffany & Co.” This remarkable timepiece is more than just an artifact; it’s a tangible link to a pivotal moment in history.

WHEN BEAUTY HURTS

Understanding Breast Implant

Illness and the Path to Healing

Breast implants have long been a popular choice for enhancing confidence and self-image. Yet, in recent years, a shift is emerging in the world of beauty and wellness. Women are increasingly turning to breast implant removal, or explantation, as health concerns surrounding Breast Implant Illness (BII) and other complications gain attention.

For many women, unexplained symptoms such as chronic fatigue, brain fog, and autoimmune disorders have prompted questions about whether their implants might be the culprit. While BII remains controversial and is not officially classified as a medical condition, countless women have reported improvements in their health following explantation.

Adding to these concerns, textured implants have been definitively linked to Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL), a rare form of cancer, further fueling the conversation around breast implant safety.

A DOCTOR’S PERSPECTIVE

Dr. Fredric M. Barr of Palm Beach Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery is one of the many medical professionals leading this shift. A Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Barr made the bold choice to stop performing breast implant surgeries in 2018. His decision reflects his commitment to patient health and his belief in the power of listening to women’s concerns.

“Due to ongoing FDA and clinical investigation, along with heightened patient concerns and reports regarding breast implants, I have chosen NOT to perform breast implants,” Dr. Barr explained.

Instead, Dr. Barr focuses on explantation procedures, offering women a path to relief from unexplained symptoms often dismissed by other medical professionals. “Women often face medical gaslighting when they bring up symptoms possibly associated with their implants,” he says. “As a surgeon, my role is to take their concerns seriously and empower them to make informed decisions.”

THE NEW TREND: EXPLANTATION AND WELLNESS

As awareness grows, a new trend is sweeping the beauty and wellness landscape: breast implant removal. Many women are choosing to embrace their natural bodies, prioritizing health and well-being over societal beauty standards. Explantation is becoming a symbol of empowerment, with women taking charge of their health and redefining what confidence means to them.

Patients often report a significant improvement or complete resolution of symptoms such as:

• Chronic fatigue

• Joint and muscle pain

• Brain fog and memory loss

• Digestive issues

• Anxiety and depression

• Insomnia

• Recurrent infections

For some, explantation is more than a medical procedure—it’s a reclaiming of their health and identity.

The choice to remove breast implants is deeply personal. It requires a trusted healthcare provider who not only understands the medical aspects but also provides compassion and validation. Explantation surgery, when approached thoughtfully, can be a transformative step toward improved physical and emotional health. However, as with all surgical procedures potential risks and complications need to be fully understood.

As the FDA continues its investigations, the conversation around BII and implant safety is far from over. However, the rise of explantation reflects a broader trend: women advocating for themselves and their health.

If you’re experiencing unexplained symptoms and suspect your implants may be a factor, consulting with a surgeon experienced in explantation, like Dr. Barr, could be life-changing. Every woman deserves to feel heard, empowered, and in control of her health.

Breast implant removal is more than a trend; it’s a movement that reflects a deeper shift toward prioritizing health and wellness. It’s about listening to your body, seeking answers, and embracing the confidence that comes from making choices aligned with your well-being.

Understanding FACIAL BALANCING

The Art of Facial Harmony with Expert Injector at OVME Waverly, Charlotte N.C. Lindsey Plair

IN RECENT YEARS, AESTHETIC MEDICINE HAS SHIFTED ITS FOCUS FROM DRAMATIC TRANSFORMATIONS TO SUBTLER ENHANCEMENTS, PRIORITIZING NATURAL BEAUTY AND BALANCE. ONE OF THE MOST TALKED-ABOUT APPROACHES IS FACE BALANCING, A TECHNIQUE THAT CREATES HARMONY AND SYMMETRY BY STRATEGICALLY USING FILLERS. BUT WHAT SETS THIS METHOD APART FROM TRADITIONAL FILLER TREATMENTS, AND WHY IS IT REVOLUTIONIZING THE WORLD OF AESTHETICS?

Face balancing is a holistic approach to cosmetic injectables, designed to enhance facial harmony by evaluating and treating the face as a whole rather than focusing on isolated features. Unlike traditional filler treatments that often target popular areas like the lips or cheeks, face balancing considers how each feature interacts with the rest of the face.

“For example,” explains Lindsey Plair, expert injector at OVME, “if a patient has high cheekbones, I ask myself—does their lower face, particularly the chin, also have good structure? If a client wants fuller lips, I assess whether their chin can support that fullness to maintain balance.” The goal is always the same: create a harmonious, natural look that feels authentically you.

When it comes to facial balancing, the guiding principle is to enhance what’s already there. “I’m passionate about optimizing each client’s unique beauty,” says Lindsey. “I want them to look like themselves—just younger, refreshed, and radiant.”

Natural results take precedence over trends. At OVME, the process begins with an in-depth consultation that includes tools like a Visia skin analysis to assess the skin’s deeper layers. This is followed by a conversation about the anatomy of aging, explaining how changes in fat, bone structure, and skin elasticity over time can alter one’s appearance. From there, a personalized anti-aging plan is created, tailored to the client’s specific needs.

While some practitioners rely on tools like golden ratio calipers to measure facial proportions, Lindsey prefers

a more intuitive approach. “I use my eyes and hands for assessment. No one is perfectly symmetrical, and that’s okay! Perfect symmetry would actually look unnatural. Instead, I focus on enhancing the features you already have and achieving balance in a way that looks effortless.”

One of Lindsey’s most rewarding experiences involved a client who initially came in asking for lip filler. “She told me her best friend got lip filler, and it looked amazing, so she wanted the same thing. After our consultation, I realized her lips weren’t the issue. She had gorgeous high cheekbones but mild volume loss in her mid-cheek, which was causing her upper lip to lose support. She also had a recessed chin that impacted the overall harmony of her face.”

Instead of lip filler, Lindsey recommended mid-cheek, chin, and jawline enhancements. “When I handed her the mirror, she was in tears. She thanked me for not letting her go through with lip filler, and it’s moments like that that make me love what I do.”

One of the most frequent worries Lindsey hears from clients is the fear of looking overfilled or unnatural. “I always tell my clients, ‘You are my walking models.’ I want people to look at them and think, You look so refreshed! What’s your secret? My goal is never to make someone look ‘done’—it’s to enhance their natural beauty.”

Lindsey also stresses the importance of choosing the right injector. “Not everyone needs lip or cheek filler, even though those are the most popular areas. If your injector is hesitant to address other areas or automatically goes to these zones, it might be time for a second opinion.”

As the field of aesthetic medicine continues to evolve, Lindsey sees regenerative medicine and collagen stimulators as the next big trends. “Dermal fillers aren’t going anywhere, but I think we’ll see a rise in treatments that promote the body’s natural ability to rejuvenate itself.”

Beyond fillers, Lindsey emphasizes the importance of combining treatments for optimal results. “Beautifully placed filler doesn’t look great under skin that isn’t cared for. That’s why I always incorporate skincare consultations and recommend treatments like microneedling, photofacials, and hydrafacials to enhance the results.”

With a background in healthcare and a lifelong love of beauty, Lindsey’s journey to becoming an expert injector was a natural fit. “I’ve always been drawn to all things

girly and artistic. My grandfather was an artist, so I think the beauty and creativity gene runs in my blood—though I leave the sketching to him! My medium is needles, not pencils.”

Before transitioning to aesthetics, Lindsey worked as a labor and delivery nurse. “I joke that I’ve always worked in the ‘industry of pain,’ but it’s taught me to have a gentle hand and a deep understanding of patient care. Merging healthcare with art has been a dream come true.”

Face balancing is more than a trend—it’s a thoughtful approach to enhancing natural beauty and restoring youthful harmony. As Lindsey puts it: “The best compliment my clients can receive is, You look amazing! What have you been doing? That’s when I know I’ve done my job.”

The Mini Facelift

Need to Know About

Standing in front of the mirror one morning, I found myself tugging at the sagging skin around my jawline, imagining what it would look like if time had been kinder. I loved everything about growing older—except what it had done to my reflection. I didn’t want to erase years of memories, but I wished my face didn’t tell the story quite so loudly. Like so many others, I assumed that the only way to reclaim my confidence was through an invasive facelift, complete with a daunting recovery process. What I didn’t know was that a simpler, less invasive solution existed: the Mini Face/Awake Lift™.

When I first heard about this innovative procedure at Palm Beach Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, I was introduced to Dr. Barr through a friend, and I am forever grateful to this connection. I was intrigued—and a little skeptical. A facelift without the need for general anesthesia? Back to life in a day? It sounded too good to be true, but the more I learned, the more I realized it might just be the answer I had been seeking.

Unlike traditional facelifts, which can be intimidating and require significant downtime, the Mini Face/ Awake Lift™ focuses specifically on the lower face, jawline, and neck—those areas that betray aging most noticeably. It is not just a skin lift, but also encompasses the underlying muscle layer (smas) to improve further long lasting tightening. And here’s the best part: the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, with small incisions made discreetly in the natural creases of the ear. This isn’t about looking drastically different; it’s about restoring what feels like you.

The results are subtle, natural, and long-lasting, and

patients often combine the procedure with other “mini” enhancements, such as a Mini Neck Lift, Eyelid Lift, or Mini-brow, all also under local anesthesia. For someone like me—new to cosmetic procedures—the idea of starting small felt right.

But what really sold me was hearing from others who had undergone the Mini Facelift. One woman shared how her jawline looked like it did a decade ago, and another talked about how the compliments poured in—but no one could quite put their finger on what had changed. And isn’t that what we all want? To feel like the best version of ourselves without it being obvious that we’ve had “work” done?

The recovery time is just as revolutionary. With traditional facelifts, you could be sidelined for weeks. With the Mini Face/Awake Lift™, most patients are back to their daily lives in just a few days. For me, the convenience of an outpatient procedure was a game-changer.

I can’t help but think about all the mornings I spent wishing for a solution that didn’t feel so extreme or unattainable. If only I’d known sooner that a procedure like this existed—a way to look refreshed, not altered. The Mini Face/Awake Lift™ isn’t just about enhancing your appearance; it’s about restoring your confidence and giving you the freedom to feel like yourself again.

If you’ve been toying with the idea of facial rejuvenation but aren’t quite ready for a full facelift, I encourage you to explore this transformative option. You don’t have to settle for sagging skin, and you don’t have to commit to something that feels overwhelming. Sometimes, a small lift is all it takes to make a big difference.

Take it from someone who wishes they’d learned about this option sooner: the journey to looking and feeling your best doesn’t have to be as complicated as you think. If you’ve ever stared at

your reflection and longed for a little extra help, the Mini Face/ Awake Lift™ might just be the answer you didn’t know you were looking for.

The Power of Food THE NATURAL SLIMMING SECRET

Food as Nature's Answer to Ozempic

In recent years, Ozempic and other semaglutide drugs have taken center stage in the weight loss and metabolic health conversation. These medications, originally developed to manage type 2 diabetes, have had a significant positive impact helping people to regulate blood sugar levels, reducing cardiovascular risks, and promote weight loss.

More recently, Ozempic has gained popularity for the ability to help otherwise well people shed pounds by affecting insulin levels and appetite, becoming a modern age pharmaceutical elixir for weight loss. However, the concept of achieving similar metabolic benefits through diet, particularly through foods that naturally balance blood sugar and encourage satiety, is far from new, and, as a nutritional wellness specialist, I’d say is a more powerful route for our phsyical and mental health. After all, nature has been offering us powerful, 'Ozempic-like' alternatives for centuries.”

In our modern world, with ultra-processed, calorie-dense foods within arm’s reach, we often overlook the power of food as a tool for metabolic health. It is easy to forget that the right combination of whole real foods can curb appetite, while providing essential nutrients, hence facilitating the healthy management

of our weight, without the need for pharmacological intervention.

Long before these modern remedies, mother nature herself offered an abundant array of 'Ozempic-like' treasures—foods that naturally harmonize blood sugar and promote a satisfying fullness, offering all the power of the earth for health and wellness.

Here is how some natural foods stack up when it comes to supporting metabolic balance and healthy weight management.

THE POWER OF FIBER

Fiber is a powerful nutrient that regulates blood sugar and slows digestion, which keeps us feeling fuller for longer. Vegetables like leafy greens, legumes, oats, and fruits such as apples are high in fiber, helping to prevent the blood sugar spikes that often lead to cravings. Fiber is an essential ally in weight management and can support insulin sensitivity, a cornerstone of metabolic health. Including fiber-rich foods in meals may reduce the frequency of snacking and stabilize energy levels throughout the day—benefits that mirror those provided by medications like Ozempic.

Here is one of my favorite recipes, Marci’s Mediterranean Power Bowl, to celebrate the profound power of what we put on our plates and ultimately in our bodies.

• 1/2 cup chickpeas, drained and rinsed

• 1/2 cucumber, diced

• 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, cut in half

• 1/4 cup Kalamata olives, sliced

• Optional: Add 8-12 ounces of your favorite protein, chicken, seafood, or meat, and for a spicy version, with the power of capsaicin add 1/4 cup of your favorite hot pepper, sliced.

TOPPINGS

• 1/2 avocado, sliced

• 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds

• 2 tbsp feta cheese

HERB YOGURT DRESSING

THE POWER OF PROTEIN

Protein not only helps build and repair muscle but also has a thermic effect, meaning it requires more energy for the body to digest. This results in a boost to metabolism and a sense of satiety that can help manage hunger cues. Lean meats, fish, eggs, legumes, and plant-based proteins like quinoa and chickpeas are excellent choices for those seeking to manage their weight and blood sugar levels naturally. High-protein meals can keep insulin levels more stable, much like the effects of semaglutide-based medications, by minimizing the spikes and crashes that lead to food cravings.

THE POWER OF HEALTHY FATS

While fat was once villainized in diet culture, healthy fats play an essential role in managing hunger and supporting metabolic health. Foods like avocados, olive oil, nuts, and seeds provide the essential fatty acids the body needs to function. These fats help promote steady blood sugar levels and encourage satiety, making them invaluable for weight management. As with Ozempic, which influences hunger hormones, incorporating healthy fats into the diet can help control the biological signals that tell us when we’re hungry or full.

THE POWER OF PHYTONUTRIENTS

Nature provides another gift in the form of phytonutrients, which are compounds found in plants that offer protective benefits. For example, polyphenols in berries and flavonoids in leafy greens are linked to improved insulin sensitivity and reduced inflammation—factors closely tied to metabolic health. These compounds can help reduce oxidative stress and support the body’s natural metabolic processes. For individuals seeking to

harness nature’s bounty for metabolic health, brightly colored fruits and vegetables should be an essential part of the diet.

THE POWER OF HYDRATION

Proper hydration is a simple yet profoundly effective way to support metabolic function and appetite control. Dehydration can often masquerade as hunger, leading us to eat when we may simply need water. Staying hydrated helps the body efficiently metabolize food and can support the kidneys and liver in their natural detoxification processes, which in turn supports weight management.

While medications like Ozempic can certainly be a tool in health management for those with medical needs, for individuals graced with more health and wellness, focusing and relying on real food for weight management provides a host of additional benefits.

Whole foods provide vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that promote overall health. Additionally, foods do not carry the same risk of side effects that pharmaceuticals can, making them a safer long-term option for many people.

Adopting a diet rich in whole foods not only supports physical health but can also enhance mental and emotional well-being, offering a holistic approach to wellness that no single drug can match. Food as medicine may not be as convenient as a pill or an injection, but its effects go beyond weight loss or blood sugar control. It nourishes the body, protects the mind, and fosters a connection to the earth, improving our own resilience, and of course, gives us much more power.

By embracing food as nature’s Ozempic, we can take charge of our health, respect the body’s natural processes, and I believe, find much more health and happiness.

Discover Your Forever Home in the Heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains

Tucked away in the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina lies a truly magical place that many proudly call their ‘forever home.’ This premier mountain community spans over 6,000 acres and sits at an elevation of 3,000 feet, offering unparalleled views of the majestic peaks. Wildlife thrives here, creating a natural haven for residents.

Amenities abound, including hiking and UTV trails, a restaurant, a fitness center, pickleball courts, a swimming pool, and a shooting range. But what truly makes this place special is the strong sense of ‘community’ that residents cherish— where connections run deep and life feels extraordinary.

SLOPES, SOAKS, AND SERENITY

WINTER’S ICY EMBRACE BECKONS WITH PROMISES OF SNOWY ESCAPADES, ROARING FIRES, AND LUXURIOUS MOMENTS OF SELF-INDULGENCE.

For those who believe a day on the slopes should end with something far more restorative than sore muscles and helmet hair, there’s nothing like retreating to a world-class spa. We’re taking you on a journey to three incredible winter escapes—where skiing and spa days come together in perfect harmony.

First stop: Aspen, Colorado. A name that conjures images of Hollywood elites and adrenaline-fueled powder runs, Aspen’s legendary charm lies in its blend of rugged adventure and unparalleled luxury. At the heart of this snowy wonderland is The Little Nell, the town’s only Five-Star, Five-Diamond ski-in, ski-out resort. But it’s not just the direct access to Aspen Mountain that makes this place extraordinary—it’s what happens after the runs.

Tired legs and altitude-weary lungs are no match for the Element 47 Spa. Whether it’s a High-Altitude Recovery Massage or a session of oxygen therapy that leaves you feeling like you could take on another black diamond run, The Little Nell has perfected the art of pampering.

And if you’re looking to sip champagne in a rooftop hot tub with jaw-dropping views? They’ve got that covered, too. Aspen may have started as a silver mining town, but today it’s pure gold.

On the other side of the Atlantic, where luxury skiing was practically invented, lies St. Moritz, Switzerland. This glamorous alpine playground has been drawing royals, celebrities, and ski enthusiasts for over a century, and the crown jewel of it all is Badrutt’s Palace Hotel. Imagine arriving at a palatial property steeped in history, where opulence meets the frosty magic of the Swiss Alps.

Here, the Palace Wellness Spa redefines relaxation. Think glacier-inspired treatments, thermal baths, and an outdoor infinity pool that blurs the line between heaven and earth. It’s the kind of place where you can soak in steaming waters while the surrounding snow sparkles like diamonds under the winter sun. Fun fact: St. Moritz is where winter tourism began, thanks to a savvy hotelier who bet his summer guests they’d love the place just as much under a blanket of snow. Spoiler alert—they did, and the rest is history.

But for those seeking something more offbeat, let’s head south to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, where a hidden gem awaits. Old Edwards Inn & Spa in Highlands may not boast the towering peaks of Aspen or the legendary glamour of St. Moritz, but it offers an experience that’s no less extraordinary. Here, skiing takes on a cozier vibe, with nearby Sapphire Valley providing the perfect slopes for a laid-back day in the snow. The real magic, however, happens inside the spa. Nestled in the tranquil embrace of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Old Edwards offers treatments inspired

by its natural surroundings. From massages infused with locally sourced essential oils to year-round heated serenity pools that let you soak under crisp, starlit skies, every detail is crafted for deep, unshakable relaxation. And the town of Highlands? Think twinkling lights, charming boutiques, and the kind of small-town magic that feels straight out of a Hallmark movie.

As winter wraps the world in its frosty embrace, these escapes remind us of the breathtaking beauty that surrounds us. Each destination offers more than just luxury and indulgence; they reconnect us to the rhythms of nature, the art of stillness, and the power of self-care.

In the warmth of a spa, where tension dissolves and time seems to slow, we’re reminded that the most meaningful journeys often lead inward. These havens of relaxation allow us to reset, recharge, and rediscover the simple joys of being present. Winter may chill the air, but it also reveals the quiet beauty of a snow-covered world—and invites us to savor the moments that restore our bodies and nourish our souls.

THE FRENCH RIVIERA

Transforming Wellness into a Year-Round Escape, No Crowd Required

Image courtesy of Lilly of the Valle

THE FRENCH RIVIERA CONJURES IMAGES OF GLIMMERING YACHTS, SUNLIT BEACHES, AND CINEMATIC GLAMOUR. YET, THERE’S A QUIETER STORY UNFOLDING ALONG THE CÔTE D’AZUR—ONE THAT TAPS INTO ITS HISTORICAL ROOTS AS A SANCTUARY FOR WELLNESS AND RENEWAL. BEYOND THE HEIGHT OF SUMMER, WHEN THE CROWDS DISPERSE AND THE MEDITERRANEAN BREEZE CARRIES A NEW KIND OF CALM, THIS ICONIC DESTINATION IS RECLAIMING ITS LEGACY AS A YEAR-ROUND HAVEN FOR HEALING.

Long before the Riviera dazzled as a playground for the jet set, it was prized for its restorative powers. In the 18th and 19th centuries, European aristocrats and royalty flocked to its sun-kissed shores during winter, seeking respite from colder climes. Doctors prescribed the region’s balmy air and serene vistas to rejuvenate body and spirit. Figures like Queen Victoria and Robert Louis Stevenson became part of a seasonal pilgrimage, earning the nickname les hivernants—the winterers.

Today, this timeless spirit is being revived with a modern twist. Luxury hotels and boutique retreats are redefining wellness as a year-round experience, leveraging the quieter months to offer deeply personalized escapes.

When summer’s golden haze gives way to cooler breezes, the French Riviera transforms into a sanctuary of serenity. Leading this renaissance is a collection of extraordinary properties that seamlessly blend luxury with holistic care.

Among the pioneers of this movement is Lily of the Valley in Saint-Tropez, nestled in the lush, untouched Cap Lardier, a green sanctuary on the Riviera. Designer Philippe Starck notes, "This is a place that welcomes you at any time in your life, at any time of the year." This year, the nautical-inspired Arev hotel opened near

Saint-Tropez's Place des Lices, making its mark as one of the few properties to remain open year-round. A standout feature is its exclusive spa partnership with Saint-Tropez-based Maison ST, renowned for its natural fragrances. Treatments like algae mud wraps and exfoliating body scrubs using local sand and elements from the Mediterranean Sea offer a sense of place in every therapeutic touch.

Nice has long been a year-round destination, renowned for its winter sunshine that draws Northern Europeans seeking respite from harsh winters," says Valéry Grégo, the visionary hotelier behind Hôtel du Couvent in Nice’s Old Town. This boutique hotel, which opened in early summer, is the result of a decade-long, $100 million renovation of a 17th-century convent. Grégo’s property is part of a growing trend of hotels embracing wellness-focused offerings that remain open year-round. The Hôtel du Couvent honors centuries of wellness traditions, featuring terraced herbal gardens, thermal baths, and an on-site apothecary offering custom-blended teas and oils. The resident herbalist draws inspiration from the hotel's two-and-a-half-acre terraced garden, planted with nearly 300 species, just as it was when the convent's nuns tended it. Daily meditation and breathwork sessions in the Movement Studio complete the holistic experience. Designed to merge Provençal abbey architecture with modern touches inspired by California

villas, Hôtel du Couvent's hillside location is as captivating as its wellness programs. These include detoxification and anti-aging regimens, Mediterranean cuisine by renowned chef Vincent Maillard (a former Alain Ducasse and Guy Savoy protégé), and expert-led guidance from nutritionists, wellness coaches, and therapists.

The hotel's subterranean thermal bath circuit pays homage to Nice’s Roman past, with a design inspired by the ancient baths found in the hillside neighborhood of Cimiez. "It embodies the age-old tradition of caring for body and mind through water, movement, and treatments—mens sana in corpore sano," explains Grégo, emphasizing the connection between the baths and the hotel’s holistic offerings.

Further along the Riviera in Mougins, Le Mas Candille in Mougins unveiled its full transformation this summer. After a facelift by French-Mexican architect Hugo Toro, the property now features an entirely new concept with its Glow House, a wellness center in collaboration with Clarins. This spa fuses cutting-edge skincare with ancient traditions, from infrared light treatments to Nordic baths under the open sky. Treatments blend European plant extracts, fine essential oils, and collagen-boosting infrared LEDs for an elevated skincare experience. Le Mas Candille also offers tailored wellness programs focused on beauty, mental rejuvenation, and mindfulness,

redefining the Côte d'Azur as a luxury destination for those seeking tranquility, wellness, and pleasure.

Olivier Courtin-Clarins, Clarins' general manager, shares, “We wanted to return to a deeper and more authentic approach to wellness, integrating a comprehensive concept of beauty. This extends beyond aesthetic treatments to include mental and physical rejuvenation and mindfulness.”

The Riviera’s beauty is no less enchanting in the off-season; in fact, it may be even more profound. Without the summer rush, visitors can savor quiet walks along Èze’s cobblestone paths, explore the art galleries of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, or simply linger over Provençal cuisine at a seaside café. The slower pace invites a deeper connection—not just to the landscape, but to oneself.

With an emphasis on sustainability and self-care, the French Riviera is more than a summer destination; it’s a timeless invitation to unwind and reconnect. From November to April, the region’s tranquility, coupled with bespoke wellness offerings, makes it the perfect escape. Whether you’re indulging in a detox program, exploring the coastline’s natural beauty, or savoring a nutrient-rich Provençal feast, the Côte d’Azur offers healing magic that transcends seasons. True luxury is a state of mind, and some of life’s most beautiful moments unfold after the spotlight fades.

The Holy Trinity Of Watches

In some industries, you may hear the phrase, “The Big Three” referring to the top 3 of a product in categories that might range from Fashion to Automobiles to Computing. But in the world of watches, that term is replaced and uplifted to something known as The Holy Trinity (a reference to the Catholic sign of the cross blessing of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost). When it comes to fine timepieces, The Holy Trinity refers to the three ultra-high-end Swiss watch brands of Audemars Piquet, Vacheron Constantin, and Patek Philippe.

All of these have long and storied histories, not only because of their centuries-old establishments but because of their relevance and monetary value in today’s market. Audemars Piguet was founded in 1875, Patek Philippe in 1839 (first as Patek, Czapek & Cie) and Vacheron Constantin in 1755, holding the title of the oldest watchmaking manufacturer in the world and by all historical accounts the oldest brand in the world today. These are not just watchmakers, they are artisans whose core collections include timepieces packed with intricate complications ranging from perpetual calendars, minute repeaters, and split-second flyback chronographs.

Aside from mechanics, all three members of the Holy Trinity are also known for their movements (the engine of the watch) that are intricately hand-finished using techniques including the famed Côtes de Genève – aka “Geneva Stripes” and Guilloche, an intricate pattern of hand engraving on gold, platinum or silver.

THE DEBATE: WHY ONLY THREE?

The term “Holy Trinity of Watches” has been around and referred to since the late 60’s, which explains why certain brands are excluded from the club. A. Lange & Söhne was re-established after the reunification of Germany in 1990. Blancpain had gone out of business in the 1970s and was only brought back to life in the late 1980s. Breguet was also going through tumultuous times during the 1980s, undergoing a few ownership changes and Jaeger-LeCoultre, known by many as “the watchmaker’s watchmaker” – was focused on making exquisite watch movements for other watch brands during much of their early history, rather than producing finished watches under their own name.

And then there is Rolex. Why wouldn’t the most coveted watch brand, the largest manufacturer in watchmaking (ever!) be left off the list? Because Rolex has never been known (nor do they want to be) for its “high horology,” a term used to describe watch complications, finely decorated movements, and innovations seemingly impossible to produce on a mass scale. Instead, Rolex’s expertise is making super durable, high-quality watches that are easy to use and practical for everyday wear. With over $11 billion in annual sales, I am not sure Rolex really cares as its importance and desire for their watches by consumers has never been stronger.

The fine auction houses of Sotheby’s, Christies and Phillips all hold semi or annual sales of fine watches and arguably the brand that gets the most attention because of the sheer size of available and tradeable pieces is Rolex. Make no mistake, when Sylvester Stallone sold his unworn Patek Phillipe Grandmaster Chime 6300 at auction this year for $5.5 million, it put Rolex on notice, but that winning bid brought increased attention to all watch brands, not just Patek, and the recent international watch auctions confirm it.

INVESTMENTS OR LUXURY WEAR?

Recent market values for members of The Holy Trinity can vary by model, but by all accounts, collector values continue to rise.

The Patek model once owned by “Rocky” is offered on international watch market sites for as much as $7.5 million, and the average Patek Phillipe would cost approximately $75,000 with values, depending on model, year and complication, running into the millions. Audemars has set its own level of lust with skeletonized gold pieces running just over $1.5 million and Vacheron’s beautiful creations from the 1970’s can easily top $650,000.

Are collectors and consumers actually wearing these timepieces on their wrists? In most cases they are not but that’s the point. Unworn icons will always go up and in most cases if one of these brands catch wind of a watch offered and purchased at one of their boutiques is then sold on the secondary market, that customer can be “blacklisted’ for future purchases. Sound familiar Ferrari or Hermes? At a recent Antique and Watch show, I witnessed many wrist checks at well over $100,000…. some in the $200,000’s and above and even met a gentleman wearing a famous Rainbow Daytona (encrusted at the Rolex factory with sapphires, diamonds and rubies) and recently trading at over half a million dollars.

Elevating any product to the equals of religion would certainly put a halo above it, and fortunately, in the watch world, we have three.

Joseph Pietrafesa is an investor and collector of fine watches and has been featured in blogs and on YouTube conversations regarding his watch journey. He owns one point of the Holy Trinity… more may follow, but that’s another story.

MASTERPIECE OF ARTISTRY

A Silk Road-Inspired Penthouse in Tribeca

Photography by Joshua McHugh, Styled by Martin Borne

Step into an extraordinary penthouse that captures the soul of New York with a stunning blend of artistry, Silk Road-inspired luxury, and modern sensibility. Designed by the emerging talents of Hines Collective, this 6,000-square-foot, 25-room duplex soars over Tribeca, unveiling panoramic views of the cityscape and rivers through grand windows on three sides.

The penthouse’s design is a curated tapestry of vintage and modern elegance, featuring bespoke pieces by design icons like Hervé Van Der Straeten, Achille Salvagni, and Pierre Paulin. Sculptural surprises await around every corner—there’s a bronze tree in the primary closet, a custom bird sculpture spanning the living room wall, and a moody media room that channels the essence of a classic speakeasy. The transformation was achieved in an ambitious nine-month renovation led by Hines Collective, founded in 2021 by Devin Hines, alongside his creative team.

It is a celebration of unique, high-end materials and artistry. Though the fireplace, kitchen, and foyer—originally crafted by designer Monique Gibson and architects Ike Kligerman Barkley—remained intact, Hines Collective reimagined nearly every other space. Luxurious textures, from eglomise glass panels and leather-clad millwork to custom fabrics, make each room distinct. The design team incorporated outdoor performance fabrics for upholstery to accommodate the client’s energetic 70-pound puppy without compromising on style.

The enlarged primary closet was planned as a combination of three rooms. During demolition, a surprise building riser was uncovered running directly through the center of the newly combined space. It could not be moved, and due to the tight schedule, Hines Collective had about a week to pivot and completely change the design. They offered several conventional options to conceal within cabinetry and one curveball option, to encapsulate the riser within a large, bronze sculptural tree.

“ Fortunately for us, our client’s adventurous spirit prevailed,” remembers Devin Hines.
“The project was completed on schedule. ”

The media room stands out with oxblood walls, a hammered gold bar, and dramatic lighting, creating a truly immersive ambiance.

The homeowner’s love for birds is gracefully reflected in custom decor, from the dining table’s intricate detailing to light fixtures that add an organic charm to each space. This theme is carried through the entire apartment, including a powder room where eglomise panels display a dragon—a meaningful symbol selected by the homeowner.

Each room’s furnishings are as thoughtfully selected as the architecture. The living room, for example, features a “Contour” coffee table by DeMuro Das and a custom double-sided settee upholstered in Kravet fabric. The media room’s sectional, upholstered in performance fabric by Holly Hunt, is a cozy yet sophisticated anchor for evenings of entertainment.

ABOUT HINES COLLECTIVE

Founded by Devin Hines, Hines Collective draws from his decade-long experience with glass artist James Carpenter and interior designer Vicente Wolf. The firm’s core team includes Kerry Offsey, Natalia Ramirez, and Lindsey Reese, who bring their own artistic vision to projects that push the boundaries of modern luxury.

This penthouse is more than a residence; it’s a journey through the world of bespoke design, an homage to the Silk Road’s artistry, and a reflection of its owner’s unique tastes. The result is a refined sanctuary high above the city—a true retreat crafted with passion, precision, and a dash of adventure.

FUNCTIONAL ART

Highlands CHIC

The natural beauty of the Highlands inspired every design decision, by interior designer Anne Buresh, from the warm wood tones to the soft textures, creating a seamless blend of comfort and sophistication.

A TIMELESS RETREAT IN THE HIGHLANDS

Nestled in the heart of the Highlands, this home was crafted as a true retreat—warm, inviting, and deeply connected to its spectacular surroundings. The vision for this project was clear: create a space that felt timeless and harmonious, a place that belonged to the landscape while still reflecting the elegance and individuality of the homeowners.

The goal was to design a home that felt like a sanctuary, somewhere you could truly unwind and be at peace with the world," explains Anne Buresh, the interior designer based in Charlotte, NC. "I wanted it to feel as though the home had always been there, perfectly integrated with its surroundings." To achieve this, every room was designed with an open flow, ensuring that the breathtaking mountain views were always the focal point.

The Highlands is a region known for its distinct charm—steeped in tradition, natural beauty, and a relaxed ambiance. This is a place where history meets serenity, and that unique character was something Anne wanted to infuse into every corner of the home. Natural materials like wood, stone, and woven fabrics were used to reflect the local landscape and craftsmanship.

Vintage pieces—like a reimagined Appalachian rocking chair and an antique sideboard—anchor the design, with each item contributing a sense of history and belonging. The sideboard, originally underused, was transformed into a stunning bar area, framed with antique botanicals and French silver to give it new life while preserving its nostalgic appeal. "It’s always about finding the balance between the homeowners’ personal style and the history of the place," says Anne. "It was so much fun to bring in these personal heirlooms and make them feel part of the overall vision."

When it came to the architectural elements of the home, certain features were too striking to ignore. Vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace were retained and highlighted, acting as the foundation for the interior design. "These architectural elements were the soul of the space," Anne shares. "We worked to enhance them, allowing the furnishings and layout to celebrate the beauty of these structures without overwhelming them."

The large windows throughout the home were strategically placed to frame the surrounding mountain views. The result is a seamless connection between the indoors and outdoors, where the natural beauty of the Highlands is always in view.

❝ I wanted it to feel as though the home had always been there, perfectly integrated with its surroundings. ❞

The design team took inspiration directly from the landscape when selecting the color palette for the home. Soft whites, muted blues, and subtle greens were chosen to reflect the tranquility of the natural surroundings. "These colors create a calm, peaceful atmosphere that makes the home feel like a true retreat," Anne says. Richer tones, like the deep buck leather of the armchairs, add depth and warmth, while hand-glazed green lamps in the bedroom provide a playful pop of color.

The palette wasn’t just about aesthetics—it was about creating an emotional connection to the environment. "We wanted the colors to feel like an extension of the outdoors, something that naturally brought the outside in," Anne explains.

The Highlands is home to some of the most beautiful outdoor scenery in the region, and the home’s design was focused on maximizing these views. Large windows allow the outside world to flow into the living space, while an outdoor porch was carefully designed as an extension of the interior. The designer used cozy accessories like soft throws and Appalachian rocking chairs to create an inviting space, perfect for enjoying slow Sunday mornings or balmy summer evenings.

"There’s something magical about the way the views change throughout the day, and we wanted to ensure that the home embraced that,"

Every corner of this home was designed with purpose. From the design elements inspired by the homeowners’ love of travel and their collection of global artwork to the personal pieces that hold meaning, the space feels uniquely theirs. "The most rewarding part of this project was seeing the homeowners truly fall in love with their space," Anne says. "It’s always such a joy to bring someone’s vision to life in a way that feels personal and authentic."

And while each room tells its own story, the living room stands out as the heart of the home. It’s a space where the design truly comes together, with layers of warmth, elegance, and personality. "This room really brings everything to life," Anne says. "It’s the place where family and friends will gather, relax, and make memories."

For Anne, the most fulfilling part of the process was not just the design itself but the joy of seeing the homeowners create new memories in the space. "Knowing that this home will be a place for them to relax, entertain, and build a life full of experiences—it makes every detail worth it."

In the end, this home in the Highlands is more than just a design; it’s a timeless retreat where nature, personal history, and thoughtful design come together to create a space that’s as breathtaking as the landscape itself.

THE NEW PICASSO:

Andres Valencia’s

Rise in Contemporary Art

AT JUST 13 YEARS OLD, ANDRES VALENCIA IS BEING HAILED AS A MODERN-DAY PICASSO, CAPTIVATING THE GLOBAL ART WORLD WITH HIS EXTRAORDINARY TALENT AND BOLD VISION. AT THE RECENT ART BASEL, ANDRES VALENCIA ACHIEVED A COMPLETE SELLOUT, SOLIDIFYING HIS PLACE AS A RISING STAR IN THE ART WORLD.

The Southern California prodigy’s vibrant, large-scale paintings—reminiscent of Cubism and inspired by icons like Picasso, George Condo, and Dalí—have become must-haves for high-profile collectors. His fragmented faces and striking use of color have taken the contemporary art scene by storm, drawing comparisons to some of history’s greatest artists.

Valencia began painting at age five, and his meteoric rise started when he debuted at Art Miami in 2021 at just 10 years old. His entire collection sold out on opening night, making him the youngest artist ever to have his own booth at the prestigious fair. It seems history repeats itself.

Valencia’s work has captured the attention of Hollywood A-listers, musicians, and business moguls alike. Sofia Vergara, Channing Tatum, Brooke Shields, Jordan Belfort, Diane Keaton, Tommy Mottola, and

Emilio Estefan have all purchased his paintings. The young artist’s collector base also includes renowned figures like art dealer Jessica Goldman Srebnick and philanthropists Robbi and Bruce E. Toll. His auction debut in Hong Kong saw Ms. Cube sell for $160,000— three times its estimate—while another piece fetched $230,000 at a charity gala in Capri, Italy.

Despite his fame, Valencia maintains a grounded perspective. “Some days I paint, other days I don’t,” he says casually. “It just depends on how much homework I get.”

“I just want the world to know my work.”

Valencia’s process is as extraordinary as his talent. Working on oversized canvases, he uses a mix of oil stick, acrylic, and oil paint, drawing inspiration from masters like van Gogh, Bacon, Richter, and of course, Picasso. While he sometimes starts with a sketch, much of his work evolves spontaneously, driven by his instincts and imagination.

Outside of painting, Valencia explores sculpting, filmmaking, and toy design. His artistic curiosity often leads to midnight bursts of creativity, with new ideas pulling him out of bed to create. His parents, Elsa and Lupe, support his unique journey, balancing his global success with the simplicity of childhood. “He’s a little boy first,” says Elsa. “He goes to public school, rides bikes with his friends, and plays outside.”

Valencia’s reach extends far beyond the U.S. In 2023, Korean superstar V from BTS shared Valencia’s artwork on Instagram, including a commissioned portrait the

prodigy created for him. This has sparked discussions about a potential collaboration for charity. Valencia has also been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, Vanity Fair, Smithsonian Magazine, and other major outlets.

Upcoming highlights include an exhibition at Frieze Seoul in South Korea and the release of a coffee table book by DK Penguin Random House in early 2025. Recent auction sales at Phillips in London and Hong Kong have fetched upward of $165,000, further cementing Valencia as a powerhouse in the art world.

While Valencia’s work draws comparisons to Picasso and his success continues to soar, his family ensures his childhood remains a priority. “I just want the world to know my work,” Valencia says humbly.

With his immense talent, star-studded fan base, and a vision that transcends his years, Andres Valencia is shaping the future of contemporary art—one masterpiece at a time.

A PRPOWERHOUSE

SOME WOMEN NAVIGATE THE WORLD WITH STYLE; EMILY PANTELIDES COMMANDS IT. AS THE FORCE BEHIND PALM BEACH’S LEADING PR FIRM, PANTELIDES PR & CONSULTING, EMILY’S ACCOLADES— WOMAN OF THE YEAR, YOUNG PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR, AND “THE ONE TO WATCH”—SPEAK VOLUMES. FROM HER DAYS AS A TV NEWS ANCHOR TO HER REIGN AS A PR POWERHOUSE, SHE’S DONE IT ALL, INCLUDING SPEARHEADING COUNTLESS CHARITABLE EVENTS.

There are women who simply navigate the world with style. Then, there are women who command it. Emily Pantelides, the woman behind Palm Beach’s most influential PR firm, Pantelides PR & Consulting, is undoubtedly in the latter category. If you were to google her name, you'd be greeted with a string of accolades that might make anyone’s head spin: Woman of the Year, Young Professional of the Year and titles like, “The One to Watch.” Don’t even get started on the charitable events she's conceptualized and chaired (you might need a second coffee to get through the list). From television news anchor to PR mogul, Emily has done it all, and she’s done it with a fierce combination of grace, grit, and humor that keeps everyone around her guessing how she manages to juggle it all — with a smile on her face.

A MORNING NEWS STAR’S LEAP INTO PR

Emily’s roots lie in the fast-paced world of television news, where she worked in multiple markets as a reporter and news anchor but it was her years spent as a beloved morning anchor in West Palm Beach, Florida that may be the most memorable. Yes, Emily was the face West Palm Beach woke up to at 4:30am—effortlessly poised, offering the latest headlines, weather updates, and just the right balance of energy to kickstart the day. What many might not know is that behind those glowing, early-morning smiles, Emily was already

strategizing her next big move. After 12 years in the cutthroat news industry, Emily decided to take the ultimate leap—she traded in her teleprompter for an entrepreneurial hat, leaving behind the camera lights for the spotlight of building her own PR empire. Emily saw a new challenge ahead: creating a public relations firm from scratch. With a diverse skill set honed from years of covering news stories, cultivating relationships, and understanding the nuances of public perception, she built a company that blends creativity, strategic thinking, and an unparalleled level of dedication to every client. The accolades followed swiftly. From the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s nomination of her firm for “Workplace of the Year” to Florida Weekly’s recognition as “Best Up and Coming PR Firm,” Pantelides PR & Consulting quickly became the firm everyone in Palm Beach County wanted to work with. Let’s just say, if your business or event isn’t on her radar, you might want to reconsider your networking strategy.

While many PR firms rely on the same old playbook, Emily has proven time and again that thinking outside the box isn’t just a strategy—it’s her way of life. Her creative approach to PR includes everything from high-profile campaigns to viral social media strategies, all while maintaining the professional charm and flair that keeps her clients at the top of their game. This year, Pantelides PR & Consulting celebrates 10 years in business. It’s something Emily never thought she would see. “I can’t believe we are celebrating 10 years as a company. It feels like yesterday when I was sitting in my living room wondering if I would have a life after TV news. 10 years to me is proof for me but also proof for all women that if you want something, don’t let anybody stop you. Just because you have a certain career track, you don’t have to stay there. There is such beauty in the pivot. A decade of controlling my own destiny has been truly life altering!”

Emily is Greek, having lived in Athens most of her life and she credits her international background for helping with that outside of the box thinking and for her ability to hire the best teams for her firm.

What we noticed when we conducted this interview is something interesting; when Emily walks into a room, what you hear most is, “I know her!” instead of “Who’s that?” In the PR world, this is a rare and invaluable currency, and Emily’s extensive network is one of the main reasons her firm continues to thrive year after year.

While building a PR empire and raising a family could be enough to keep anyone occupied, Emily’s true genius lies in her ability to balance it all—and then some. For Emily, success isn’t just about business; it’s about community. Emily has built a reputation as not only an incredible businesswoman but as a fierce advocate for charity and community engagement. Through her tireless work with non-profits like, Place of Hope, The American Red Cross, Quantum House, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Council, Emily has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for causes close to her heart. Emily conceptualizes, creates, and then chairs events that have become annual staples in the Palm Beach social calendar. From the Sugar Plums Dreams Brunch for Quantum House to the Furry Friends and Fancy Things event benefiting animal rescue, Emily doesn’t just attend charity events— she creates them.

Her work with local organizations, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County and the United Way Women’s Leadership Council, has garnered her numerous awards, including recognition as a “Magnificent Leader” by the Cancer Alliance for Help and Hope and a spot on the prestigious “Up and Comer” list by South Florida Business and Wealth. Emily says she wants to use her platform to make the world a better place. Emily does all this while raising three children with her husband and balancing life with a rescue dog (which, knowing Emily, is probably the cutest dog in all of Palm Beach). She jokes about wanting a larger farm to house all the animals she’d love to adopt, but the reality is, Emily’s

true superpower is in her ability to make everything look effortless—whether it’s running a thriving business or spending quality time with her family. Her ability to juggle multiple roles—shows that women really can have it all, if they approach it with tenacity and an occasional glass of wine (or two).

Just because you have a certain career track, you don’t have to stay there. There is such beauty in the pivot. ❞

From television news anchor to PR mogul, Emily Pantelides is a true Palm Beach icon. She continues to leave an indelible mark on Palm Beach. Her journey isn’t just about creating a successful PR business; it’s about crafting a legacy of impact, influence, and integrity. In a world that’s always changing, Emily’s brilliance lies in her ability to pivot, adapt, and—most importantly—help others succeed. When asked the simple question of how. Her answer is simple, she says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Whether she’s on TV, hosting a fundraising gala, or strategizing a client’s next big move, Emily Pantelides proves that when you put in the work, anything is possible. And she’s just getting started. Palm Beach is lucky to have her, and her next chapter? Well, we can only imagine how spectacular it will be.

Natalie WOOD

A Legacy of Love, Grace, and Timeless Elegance

Natasha Gregson Wagner

NATALIE WOOD REMAINS ONE OF HOLLYWOOD'S MOST BELOVED ICONS, HER LEGACY SHINING LIKE SUNLIGHT DANCING ON THE SEA SHE SO CHERISHED. DECADES

AFTER HER PASSING, HER NAME CONTINUES TO CAPTIVATE HEARTS, HER STORY BRIDGING GENERATIONS.

Through the work and dedication of her daughter, Natasha Gregson Wagner, Natalie’s legacy of love, strength, and grace endures. From heartfelt tributes to new creative endeavors inspired by her mother, Natasha ensures that the brilliance of Natalie Wood continues to illuminate the world.

In this exclusive conversation with VIVANT Magazine, Natasha opens up about the intimate journey of celebrating her mother’s life, the challenges of navigating her untimely death, and how she continues to honor her memory through storytelling, artistry, and the preservation of a Golden Age of Hollywood legacy.

“What is it about my mom that continues to resonate so strongly with people?” Natasha muses. “I think it’s because she started acting at just four years old and seamlessly transitioned into a leading lady. People feel protective of her, like a childhood friend they’ve grown up with. Mothers and daughters, best friends—so many tell me about their shared love for my mom. Younger generations are drawn to her beauty, her personal style, and the heartfelt characters she created. She’s truly timeless.”

For Natasha, this cross-generational admiration is deeply touching. “At book events, I see mothers and daughters coming together, united by their love for her. It’s incredible to witness how her legacy bridges relationships.”

In 2020, Natasha co-produced the documentary Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind, an intimate portrayal of her mother’s life. “It was a gift to create this with Laurent Bouzereau, who brought such sensitivity to the project,” she shares. “The set felt almost holy—a place where people could offer their love and memories of my mom. When I flew to Wales to interview my Daddy Gregson, who was battling Parkinson’s, it was bittersweet. He was incredibly brave and funny, but I knew it would likely be the last time I’d see him. It was.”

Growing up in Hollywood royalty, I saw the trappings of fame, but what stayed with me was the importance of creating joy and being present. My mom embodied that, and it’s a lesson I carry with me every day. ❞

Natasha also sat down with her stepfather, Robert Wagner, for an emotional discussion about the night Natalie died. “It was a difficult conversation. I’m extremely protective of my Daddy W, and asking him to revisit that night was painful. But he was honest and courageous. Unfortunately, the speculation surrounding her passing has been reckless and destructive. This documentary allowed us to address it truthfully.”

While the world knows Natalie Wood as a celebrated actress, Natasha reveals the personal side of her mother. “She was so funny. She loved animals, buying people gifts, writing letters, and celebrating holidays. She always wore socks to bed and drank chamomile tea at night. She was whip-smart, kind, and humble—someone who worked deeply on herself as a human being.”

Natasha’s relationship with Robert Wagner remains a cornerstone of her life. “It’s evolved like a fine wine. He’s 95 now, and we still talk every day. He’s my go-to person for everything.”

Honoring her mother’s memory has become Natasha’s life’s work. From creating fragrances inspired by Natalie’s favorite scents—gardenia, citrus, and fresh roses—to organizing a comprehensive archive of her memorabilia, Natasha is dedicated to preserving her mother’s essence.

“My mom was incredibly organized, and I’m working to create a space that reflects that,” she explains. “We’re transferring film reels to digital and preparing for a 2026 art exhibit that will showcase her jewelry, letters, and artwork. She lived only 43 years but accomplished so much. I want people to see her as the deeply special, multifaceted person she was.”

In early 2025, Natasha will launch a new fragrance line, L’Amour Mère (Mother Love), featuring three signature scents: Natalie, La Rose, and Lyublyu. “Each scent tells a story,” Natasha says. “Natalie captures my mom’s love for gardenia, while La Rose evokes the fresh garden roses she always kept in our home. Lyublyu is inspired by my grandmother and our walks in the South of France. It’s about the bond between a little girl and her grandmother.”

A Libra at heart, Natasha’s love for beautiful things shines through in every detail, from the scents to the design and packaging. “I’ve inherited this passion for blending fragrances from my dad, who was a tea taster before becoming an agent,” she shares. “It’s a family affair—my sister Poppy Wall even has her own candle company, EYM Naturals, based in the UK.”

Natasha’s memoir, More Than Love, was published by Scribner in 2020, offering an intimate look into her life and relationship with her legendary mother.

As Natasha reflects on her parents’ careers during Hollywood’s Golden Age, she acknowledges the stark differences from today’s entertainment world. “Back then, it was about artistry and building something meaningful. Today, with social media and instant fame, it’s so different. But there are parallels—like the enduring challenge for actresses to balance vulnerability with strength. My mom did it beautifully.”

For Natasha, luxury is not just about glamour—it’s about love, connection, and celebrating life’s beauty. “Growing up in Hollywood royalty, I saw the trappings of fame, but what stayed with me was the importance of creating joy and being present. My mom embodied that, and it’s a lesson I carry with me every day.”

Natalie Wood’s legacy is one of grace, resilience, and love—qualities that continue to inspire new generations. Through Natasha’s tireless efforts, her mother’s light shines as brightly as ever, a beacon of timeless elegance in an ever-changing world.

ESCAPE

BENEATH GEORGIA’S SOUTHERN SKIES

The Magic of Sea Island

Images provided by Sea Island

NESTLED ALONG THE SERENE SOUTHEASTERN COASTLINE OF GEORGIA, SEA ISLAND OFFERS AN ENCHANTING ESCAPE WHERE NATURAL BEAUTY AND SOPHISTICATED LUXURY CONVERGE. DURING MY RECENT VISIT, I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO STAY IN THE ELEGANT MAIN BUILDING OF THE LODGE, WHERE SOUTHERN CHARM AND UNPARALLELED COMFORT WERE EVIDENT IN EVERY DETAIL. AS A HAVEN FOR RELAXATION AND REJUVENATION, SEA ISLAND’S OFFERINGS—INCLUDING THE RENOWNED SPA AT SEA ISLAND—

CREATED A PERFECT BLEND OF INDULGENCE AND ADVENTURE, MAKING FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE.

The Main Building at The Cloister is an architectural masterpiece, finely detailed, with spacious, welcoming rooms that exude understated elegance. The Cloister, Sea Island’s flagship resort, has symbolized Southern elegance since it opened in 1928. It’s consistently ranked among the top luxury hotels in the world. Each suite possesses its unique charm, featuring vaulted ceilings, exposed wooden beams, and handcrafted Oriental rugs that evoke a sense of warmth and intimacy. These rooms provide a tranquil refuge after a day of exploring the property or indulging in one of Sea Island’s many activities, whether it’s a round of golf or a serene horseback ride through the marshlands. Several U.S. presidents, including Calvin Coolidge, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and George H.W. Bush, have stayed at Sea Island. In 2004, it was host to the G8 Summit. It’s not surprising Sea Island holds more Forbes Five-Star awards than any other resort in the world for its accommodations, spa, and dining. What’s particularly special about the Main Building’s location is its proximity to The Spa at Sea Island, a 65,000-square-foot sanctuary dedicated to relaxation and well-being. Situated near the riverside, the Main Building puts guests just moments away from the spa’s serene facilities, including the Coastal

Experience Center and Fitness Center, ensuring that relaxation is never far from reach.

When I arrived at The Spa at Sea Island, I was immediately enveloped in a sense of calm, guided by the gentle scents of eucalyptus and the soothing sounds of cascading water. As one of only a few Forbes Five-Star spas in the world, this retreat is a true sanctuary. Every inch of the space has been thoughtfully designed with elements drawn from the healing properties of water, creating an immersive environment where relaxation flows effortlessly.

I began my spa journey in the Water Rotunda, where the hydrotherapy pool’s gentle currents and the soothing waterfall provided immediate relief from the stresses of daily life. After unwinding in this serene space, I indulged in a custom massage that felt both restorative and transformative. The expert therapists at the spa tailor each treatment to individual needs, ensuring that every guest leaves feeling renewed.

For those looking for a more futuristic experience, the Somadome Therapy Pod provides an immersive meditation session designed to enhance well-being and promote mental clarity. It’s a truly unique feature that reflects Sea Island’s commitment to blending cutting-edge technology with holistic relaxation practices.

Sea Island’s dining options are nothing short of spectacular, ensuring that every meal is an experience to savor. After my day of relaxation at The Spa, I dined at Colt & Alison, a restaurant known for its cozy yet refined atmosphere. The crackling fire and intimate setting made it the perfect place to enjoy expertly prepared USDA Prime steaks and fresh seafood. The meal was paired with a curated selection of wines, each chosen to enhance the flavors of the dishes.

For a more formal dining experience, The Georgian Room—Sea Island’s crown jewel—offers a fine dining experience like no other. With its opulent chandeliers and warm golden tones, the restaurant exudes a sense of timeless elegance. The chef’s tasting menu was a true highlight, with each course showcasing both artistry and culinary expertise. A perfectly prepared filet of locally caught fish, paired with a citrus beurre blanc, stood out as one of the most memorable dishes of my visit.

After my indulgent day at the spa and exquisite meals, I returned to my room at The Lodge, where the soft earthy tones and serene marsh views made for a peaceful and restorative environment. Whether you’re lounging in the cozy common areas or retreating to your room, the Main Building’s tranquil setting offers the perfect balance of relaxation and luxury.

One of the highlights of my stay, other than the spa, was the horse-

back ride through the stunning marshlands. Early in the morning, I embarked on this unique journey that offered a fresh perspective on Georgia’s untouched beauty. As I guided my horse through soft, sandy trails, the air was filled with the sounds of nature—the rustling of marsh grasses and the occasional call of a heron soaring overhead. The serenity was palpable. My guide shared stories of the ecosystem, pointing out fiddler crabs darting across the mud and ospreys circling above.

As my visit drew to a close, I reflected on the exceptional blend of adventure, rejuvenation, and luxury that Sea Island offers. The spa’s healing waters, the world-class dining experiences, and the warm, welcoming accommodations combine to create an experience that feels both indulgent and deeply restorative. Sea Island isn’t just a destination—it’s a sanctuary that lingers in the heart long after you’ve left its shores.

For those seeking a luxurious escape, Sea Island offers an unrivaled experience, where every detail—from the sophisticated spa to the carefully curated culinary offerings to the five miles of private white sand beach—works in harmony to create a sense of timeless elegance. Whether you’re there for a relaxing retreat or an adventure-filled getaway, Sea Island is a place that stays with you long after you’ve left.

CHÊNE BLEU

A

New

Vision

of Sustainable Hospitality and Stewardship

The prevailing spirit of our time is a resounding call for sustainability, a philosophy that lies at the heart of Chêne Bleu’s mission. In an era where the zeitgeist of environmental stewardship and conscious living is more essential than ever, Chêne Bleu exemplifies a harmonious blend of innovation, tradition, and ecological responsibility, setting a benchmark for what it means to create with care for both the planet and future generations, an elevated and purposeful standard of sustainability.

Resembling a scene from a whimsical tale, perch on a secluded mountaintop in the Vaucluse region of Provence, Chêne Bleu is not just a vineyard; it is a sanctuary where history, nature, sustainability, and hospitality seamlessly intertwine. At the heart of the estate stands La Verrière, a beautifully restored medieval priory that offers more than just a place to stay. This fully renovated thousand-year-old architectural gem combines medieval origins with modern luxury, providing guests

with the highest standards of comfort within a setting unlike any other. The priory’s unique blend of history and cutting-edge design creates an unforgettable atmosphere where the past is preserved yet every modern convenience is at your fingertips.

Nicole and Xavier Rolet, the driving forces behind Chêne Bleu, embody the values that define the estate philosophy. With a deep commitment to the land, the world, and the future, they are real-life ecological stewards, living by their motto: Non mihi, non tibi, sed nobis— not mine, not yours, but ours.

With guiding principles that reflect their unwavering belief in the importance of collective responsibility, Nicole and Xavier approach every endeavor with passion and determination, striving to create something that transcends individual achievement and creates a better world.

At Chêne Bleu, they are doing just that—and have been for quite some time.

When Nicole and Xavier Rolet met in 1994, Xavier had already acquired the property—a site steeped in history but resembling an ambitious archaeological excavation, with layers of the past waiting to be uncovered. Initially, the tangled vines, ruins, and relics were concerning to Nicole, to say the least. However, her belief in sustainability and the potential to breathe new life—and love—into the land sparked her intrigue, and the rest is history.

Like any great work of art, they have created a transformative force for the environment through a blend of passion, vision, skill, and, of course, fortitude. At Chêne Bleu, regenerative practices, ancient craftsmanship, and cutting-edge sustainability converge to create a model of ecological harmony—all while preserving the cultural heritage of Provence and extending their influence well beyond.

The vineyard and La Verrière estate operate today using the greenest and most organic methods available. Without relying on synthetic chemical pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers, the focus is on regenerative agriculture. Their SustainaBEElity program incorporates bees, composting, soil preservation, redirecting water waste to a bamboo forest, and growing their own food while sourcing locally.

It is through these innovative guiding principles and practices that they have created a harmonious ecosystem where flora and fauna thrive together, immersing guests in a world where sustainability is seamlessly integrated into every aspect of their visit.

Whether it is a vineyard experience at Chêne Bleu or a stay at La Verrière, they cultivate an environmentally responsible, sustainable hospitality experience that goes beyond exceptional service. Guests are not only welcomed with warmth and care but are also invited to be part of a sustainable journey, where every detail

offers a personalized, thoughtful experience reflecting their commitment to ecological stewardship. It is a place where sustainability is not just a practice but an essential part of the rich, unforgettable hospitality experience—leaving guests feeling connected to the land and inspired by a brighter future.

As the Rolets take on the challenges of modern viticulture and environmental conservation, they do so with a vision that extends beyond personal success, focusing instead on leaving a lasting legacy. It comes as no surprise that they are bringing their message to the global stage. Nicole and Xavier, now Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellows at Harvard University, are expanding their focus to include innovative leadership in sustainability, social impact, and environmental responsibility. By integrating their experiences from Chêne Bleu with broader initiatives, they inspire new ways to address pressing global challenges.

Every aspect of the Rolets’ work—from the restoration of their thousand-year-old property to the cultivation of their wines—is a deliberate step toward fostering a healthier planet and a more socially conscious world. Through their unwavering commitment to sustainability, they are proving that luxury, history, and environmental stewardship can not only coexist but thrive together. Their work sets a very powerful example for others to follow, and I am certain the world will be a much better place because of them.

LA TÊTE D’OR

Quickly becoming known as the city's best steak house in decades.

Manhattan welcomes its newest culinary masterpiece, La Tête d’Or, the first-ever steakhouse by acclaimed Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud. Located at 318 Park Avenue South in the Flatiron District, within the newly transformed One Madison Avenue, this exceptional dining destination redefines the New York steakhouse with French sophistication and flair.

Named after the iconic park in Boulud’s hometown of Lyon, La Tête d’Or bridges the chef’s two worlds: France and New York. Known for his four-decade-long legacy of culinary excellence, Boulud brings a unique approach to classic steakhouse cuisine, blending premium cuts of beef and seafood with his signature sauces and seasonal French touches.

“The beauty of a steakhouse lies in its simplicity—an excellent steak and a great sauce—but it must have soul and precision,” says Boulud. The menu offers elevated favorites like the Scharbauer Ranch Wagyu Ribeye carved tableside from the Prime Rib Trolley, Crab Cakes, a Caesar Salad prepared before your eyes, and the Golden Chicken "à la brique," all subtly infused with French influence.

Complementing the cuisine is an expertly curated wine list featuring bold reds from Bordeaux, Napa Valley, and Tuscany, alongside Champagne and whites from Burgundy and beyond. The cocktail program delights with a mix of timeless classics and innovative creations, all showcasing seasonal ingredients.

Designed by David Rockwell, the restaurant’s interiors exude modern elegance. Deep blue tones, dark woods, and plush velvet banquettes create a warm yet sophisticated ambiance. With its expansive dining room, intimate private spaces, and a chic bar and lounge, La Tête d’Or offers a setting as inviting as its menu.

In partnership with SL Green, the developers behind One Madison, La Tête d’Or is poised to become a crown jewel in Manhattan’s culinary scene. “New Yorkers have always embraced world-class steakhouses, and La Tête d’Or aims to set a new standard,” says Sebastien Silvestri, CEO of the Dinex Group. www.latetedorbydaniel.com

RADA REDEFINES DINING IN CHARLOTTE WITH NYC FLAIR

Rada, a chic new restaurant in Myers Park, introduces Charlotte to an elevated dining experience with tapas, biodynamic wines, and shareable plates.

Helmed by Chef Callan Buckles, formerly of acclaimed NYC spots like Claud, Momofuku, and The Four Horsemen, the menu is a bold fusion of global influences. Owner Eloy Roy envisioned this contemporary American eatery in the former Little Spoon space, creating a cozy yet upscale 50-seat spot with mint green walls and a minimalist aesthetic. From a $3 Gilda skewer to a $110 sirloin, Rada’s offerings reflect Buckles’ culinary pedigree and adventurous flair. With dishes like eggplant escabeche and seabass paired with txakolina wine, Rada aims to carve out a niche in Charlotte’s emerging shared-plates scene.

Rada blends fine dining with approachability, focusing on flavors that challenge Charlotte’s palate while embracing its neighborhood vibe. Highlights include crispy roast chicken with vegetable farcis and Asian-inspired touches like fish sauce and shio koji. The bar program is equally compelling, featuring a gin martini made with anchovy oil and Basque pepper brine. Roy believes Rada will resonate deeply with diners, offering something fresh yet familiar. This new spot, opened on Selwyn Avenue, invites locals to indulge in innovative cuisine and discover what they’ve been craving all along.

Joining the ranks of top racket sports like tennis and pickleball, padel ball is carving its place as one of the fastest-growing sports globally. Recently, Palm Beach County stepped into the spotlight with the opening of the West Palm Beach Padel Club, a cutting-edge facility designed to elevate the local sports scene and unite padel enthusiasts from all walks of life.

Hailing from Mexico and combining elements of squash and tennis, padel has gained immense popularity in Europe over the past few decades and is now captivating players worldwide.

Known for its dynamic gameplay and inclusive nature, padel is typically played in doubles on a smaller, glass-enclosed court. The sport’s unique blend of athleticism, strategy, and social interaction has made it a favorite for athletes and casual players alike.

The new Padel Club, located minutes from downtown West Palm Beach, is Florida's first standalone facility dedicated entirely to the sport. The venue boasts three outdoor courts and one indoor court, along with a luxurious clubhouse. Designed by Caitlin Kay Interiors, the clubhouse blends inspiration from European sports and social clubs with a distinct Palm Beach aesthetic, featuring a café, lounge, locker rooms, and ample seating both indoors and outdoors.

This venture is the brainchild of prominent community investors, including Nick Hissom, Kameron Ramirez, and Anders Sulisalo, who share a passion for padel. Hissom, who first played padel as a child in Spain, was inspired to bring the sport to Palm Beach after constructing the first private residential padel court in the area at his family’s estate. “Padel brings people together,” Hissom explains. “It’s a sport that encourages activity, camaraderie, and community, and we’re excited to provide a space where those elements thrive.”

In addition to offering world-class facilities, the Padel Club will host an array of programming to foster community engagement. Leagues, tournaments, coaching programs, and special events will cater to players of all skill levels. The grand opening hosted an exclusive cocktail party and exhibition match, with plans for charity events, celebrity tournaments, and more throughout the season.

For padel enthusiasts and newcomers alike, the West Palm Beach Padel Club promises to be more than just a sports facility—it’s a destination where the community can come together to embrace an active lifestyle, build connections, and enjoy the game that’s taking the world by storm. MISS UNDERSTOOD WITH RACHEL UCHITEL

In a world where stories are often reduced to sensational headlines, Rachel decided to create a space where people could share their truths. Her podcast, Miss Understood, is a platform that amplifies voices often overshadowed by public misconceptions. Inspired by her own experiences of feeling misrepresented, Rachel’s mission is to reveal the humanity behind the headlines.

“I started Miss Understood because I’ve felt misunderstood for most of my life—a universal feeling many can relate to,” Rachel shares. “I wanted to create a platform to change the narrative, particularly for those reduced to a headline. My guests include politicians, actors, athletes, activists, authors, experts, and everyday people with extraordinary stories, all seeking to tell their truths.”

Rachel’s approach to selecting guests is deeply personal. “I handpick each guest, often inspired by news stories or documentaries,” she explains. “My journalism background fuels my curiosity, and I focus on individuals who’ve been widely discussed but rarely heard directly. These are the voices I prioritize.” Her passion for storytelling is evident in the diversity of her guests, from Terra Newell of Dirty John fame to Kato Kaelin from the O.J. Simpson trial. Each interview is a deep dive into the guest’s journey, offering listeners a chance to understand the complexities of their lives.

Rachel’s own journey has profoundly influenced her perspective. “Public perception often becomes a reality, even when it’s far from the truth,” she reflects. “Being misrepresented has taught me the importance of understanding context and motives. I’ve also learned to value close, meaningful relationships over public approval.” This understanding fuels her empathy and dedication to providing a safe space for her guests. “Changing public opinion is slow and often feels like a one-person-at-a-time effort,” she says. “But it’s made me stronger and more committed to giving others the opportunity to share their stories.”

At its core, Miss Understood is about empathy and second chances. “Each episode explores the human stories behind the headlines,” Rachel explains. “We focus on the resilience of the human spirit and celebrate the complexity of individual experiences.”

Her most memorable episodes include interviews with figures like Rudy Giuliani, who shared his experiences on 9/11, and Kathy Griffin, who opened up about her journey of recovery after being “canceled.” These stories resonate because they reveal the vulnerability and humanity often overlooked in public narratives.

Rachel has ambitious plans for the podcast’s future. “I want Miss Understood to grow as a trusted platform for honest storytelling, potentially expanding to television or streaming services,” she shares. “My goal is to continue amplifying voices that deserve to be heard.”

When asked what advice she would give to those feeling misrepresented, Rachel’s response is clear: “Tell your story. Don’t let others define you. Speaking your truth is powerful—for both clearing misconceptions and your mental health.”

Rachel hopes her work inspires listeners to lead with empathy. “Everyone carries unseen burdens. Offering understanding and second chances can transform lives—including your own,” she concludes.

Through Miss Understood, Rachel is not just changing narratives—she’s creating a movement of understanding, one story at a time.
