WHERE TO STAY:
The Loutrel brings a chic retreat to Charleston’s historic distric. Inspired by the Holy City’s famed gardens and natural landscapes to create a rich design complemented by luxurious, modern comforts. Evoking a sense of timelessness and sophistication, the hotel is immersed in a palette of verdant greens, blues and golds that capture the color and varied light of the Lowcountry, while tactile materials that evoke nature, such as linen, wool and wood, are used throughout the spaces.
The Veranda Lounge houses an expansive bronze and wood accented bar, which conjures the image of an old ship while beautiful greenery and live citrus trees bring the gardens of Charleston inside. Further tapping into the city’s heritage, a repurposed southern porch swing beckons guests to sit and relax, while an expansive painting capturing the region’s landscape, by local artist Linda Fantuzzo, anchors the room.
On The Loutrel’s rooftop terrace, guests can take in stunning views of The Ravenel Bridge and many of the historic steeples that give the Holy City its name, while enjoying signature cocktails and shareable
bites from the Veranda Lounge’s menu delivered right to the terrace. Open exclusively to hotel guests and their visitors, the rooftop offers a highly-sought-after private outdoor space to relax and unwind throughout the day.
Property accommodations include a mix of California king rooms, corner kings with views of the Ravenel bridge or Charleston harbor, five suites, and a premier suite, with many of the rooms featuring balconies. All guest rooms feature luxurious Matouk linens and towels, locally crafted Deep Steep bath amenities, artisanal Lavazza coffee, live botanicals and a soothing color palette of blues and grays. In addition, guests can enjoy a state-of-the-art fitness studio that features a Peloton bike and Life Fitness equipment, and a private dining room that can be reserved for special occasions and events. It just may be our favorite hotel in Charleston. The attention to detail was noticeable and appreciated. www.theloutrel.com

SOCO GALLERY
SOCO Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Purpose At Random, a solo exhibition by artist Scott Avett. The gallery will host a Q&A with the artist on October 5th. This will be the artist’s second solo exhibition with SOCO Gallery.
Avett’s paintings explore universal themes of faith and observation, love and loss, heartache and joy, as well as the more personal stories of career, family, and life. Purpose At Random will present new medium and large-scale oil paintings and prints created by the artist from early 2020 through today.
Christina Hussey photography
The new paintings and prints in Purpose at Random explore the temporal place of meaning in the artistic process. For Avett, the narrative weight of a work can emerge after the creative act. Avett is guided by process - the assembling of elements – and as the layers stack and join, relationships and undercurrents present themselves. It is in mustering the trust necessary for this approach that Avett is able to find beauty. www.socogallery.com

THE VAULT NANTUCKET
Katherine Jetter owner of The Vault Nantucket recently debuted her beautiful new collection, Lady of The Rings. Katherine organized a magical outdoor garden party at The Greater Light, in Nantucket, with historical artifacts that were specially curated by the Nantucket Historical Association’s Chief Curator, Michael Harrison, along with contemporary jewelry from her collection and jewelry wünderkind, Fernando Jorge's. Katherine’s BFF and designer extraordinaire Marla Mullen, concepted the unbelievably fabulous tablescape, which was attended by a number of gorgeous local Nantucket ladies.
Silvia Furmanovich, designed a custom ring box that carries the complete collection. The box is handcrafted in wood, with Silvia’s proprietary marquetry technique and finished with brass. Each ring box has six rings surrounding one; move whatever traits are needed most on any given day to the center of the group, and it will lead your tribe.
Abby Huhtanen, Director of Fine Jewelry for Moda Operandi moderated a panel discussion all about the tie-in of sentimentality in jewelry, and the significance of travel from a global perspective. Katherine debuted her Lady of the Rings collection, which is a very personal line of signet rings inspired by her personal girl tribe, each representing a very different female heroine.

PERFECTLY PALM BEACH IS PERFECTLY TIMED!
By Margaret Bastick Luce
As Jayne Chase’s inaugural podcast guest on Perfectly Palm Beach, I felt like we were visiting over a lovely lunch. It’s quite rare to cover so many topics in one sitting and found a sense of transcendence through our conversation. Jayne has the rare ability to promote whatever project you have and she does so from a generous and genuine place. Her welcoming energy is like a ray of sunshine and a warm embrace.
The ease in which Jayne ebbs and flows in the community gives you a glimpse into her natural ability to meet and share. Always grateful to the architects, art gallery owners, interior designers, hoteliers, philanthropists, restauranteurs, and retailers who thread a beautiful tapestry known as Palm Beach.
As she embarks on the 2022 - 2023 season, I look forward to the exciting line-up and tuning in to experience Perfectly Palm Beach as with Jayne, make that latte, matcha, or pour a glass of Rosé and feel like a part of the conversation.
As a businesswoman, seasoned media reporter, mother to two adult sons thriving in the entertainment industry, and loving wife, our Jayne Chase of Perfectly Palm Beach is a glistening jewel. Stay tuned as rumor has it that her novel will be debuting on a bookshelf near you soon.

INTERCOASTAL TO OCEAN, THE PALM BEACH PAR 3 BY THE SEA
By Margaret Bastick Luce
Florida, home to more than 1,200 golf courses and many of the world’s top golfers, it’s no surprise that the game is a draw for locals and visitors alike. Lush fairways, greens and bunkers of all shapes and sizes are a common sighting across the landscape. As you make your way along the Eastern coastline, the mix of mansions and nature slows your pulse and elevates your mood all before you reach the first tee. Pulling into the parking lot, one can’t help but notice the location of this special track, perfectly laid out between the Intracoastal Waterway and Atlantic Ocean.
To think you can have it all in a round of golf is well what makes this spot so very special. Taking a pause in my work week, to enjoy a morning on the links with three girlfriends where we made the most of our irons. And regardless of missing a few shots, we laughed and rolled through the round. As our focus shifted to lunch, we made our way to Al Fresco. This sister restaurant to Renato’s and Acqua Cafe Palm Beach serves up sublime cuisine with sweeping ocean views and warm breezes.
The true secret ingredient that is present at every turn is the staff. Starting with Tony Chateauvert, the head professional and manager. Having served as the prior head of The Bedford Golf and Tennis Club in New York, a property known as a family club with deep roots in tradition., you get a sense of heritage and luxury. One of the best kept secrets although not for long is Bob Hite. His enthusiasm is something you have to experience to describe. He has improved many a game and is capturing the attention of those looking to uplevel their play. Palm Beach Par 3 is a must visit for golf or just the views so grab your clubs and some friends and head to this public 18 hole course by the sea. 2345 South Ocean Blvd., Palm Beach, FL 33480 | +1 561.547.0598
