Equestrians, masters at planning
This industry has so many moving parts. Equestrians have this innate knowledge that you can only learn by living it. Every move, every decision, and every plan revolves around one thing — the horse.
There has always been a special relationship between humans and horses. The passion and love equestrians have for these animals is unmatched, and they predominately have their best interests at heart. But many people in the equestrian industry don’t have someone looking out for them, with the same passion and dedication that they care for their horses.
To fill this void, Greenberg Traurig started its Equine Industry Group in 2020. With the firm’s international platform and diverse practice specialties, Greenberg Traurig is well positioned to serve the business interests of riders, trainers, and owners, and help them plan for a better, and more successful future. Greenberg Traurig’s Equine Industry Group has skilled and dedicated attorneys worldwide to serve the equestrian community.

As someone who grew up in a town that averaged over 200-inches of snowfall per year, is it any wonder I love living in South Florida? We finally dropped off the heat scale of the long hot summer as morning temps are becoming quite welcoming in the 60s. It’s great for the ponies and horses and even better for those of us who ride.
January means everything to the Wellington lifestyle. Grand Prix Show Jumping, High Goal Polo and Rhythmic Dressage dominate the area as beaches and exquisite shopping revolve around charity galas and dinner parties. We packed this issue with things we know you will love.
In “Shhhhh, The Looks That Don’t Tell” we walk you through the world of “quiet luxury” or as some call it, “stealth wealth”, a growing style whose opulence is known only by those who can afford it as they buy and wear items that will last forever.
The New year usually brings new beginnings, so if you are looking for an engagement ring, feast your eyes on a 100-carat ring courtesy of Provident Jewelers, where they will treat you like gold in a salon to die for.
This winter, we are proud to be a Media Sponsor at Wellington International or WEF, as we locals call it, so we thought it would be a good idea to peel back the covers a little and ask ourselves, “What is it about WEF?” that makes this 90-acre playground so special for competitors from the ages of 5-75 and who migrate here from all over the world. While there, you will undoubtedly see a few pairs of Wellies, it’s a staple around the stables… Step inside one of Palm Beach’s most elegant spots, Le Bar, where caviar and champagne are as common as still or sparkling and check out artist
Daniela Pasqualini as she continues to make her mark in the art world on canvas and even cowboy hats!
Our friend, contributor and world-renowned author Aaron Sigmond debuts his latest tomb entitled “Cigars: A Biography”, which brings us deep inside the annuls of a favorite pastime and then we show you how to mend a broken heart with the story of The Love Bracelet from Cartier, an iconic design inspired by weekend browsing in a hardware store in New York.
Enjoy the ride in a classic G Wagon or if your preferred route is on the water, drool over the Lancia Aprea, J-Craft, Hacker and Invictus as they carve through the surf.
Tastemaker Hutton Wilkinson’s grand glamour captivates us as does the idea of buying an elusive Birkin at a Sotheby’s auction. We take you inside both worlds…. “fair warning!”
Socially, we were honored to co-host a reception at Tiffany & Co as we celebrated Elsa Peretti’s 50-year relationship with the iconic retailer, and we can’t wait to welcome the new Cartier AND Louis Vuitton stores in Palm Beach. Finally, let’s toast a new year with a crafted Chrome Horse Tequila and tackle the resolution of being healthy in a Hyper Dissolved Oxygen Tub. The perfect way to pamper yourself.
We’re so proud of what WQ has become as we continue to redefine what a luxury periodical should be: an inviting cover that you’re proud to keep tableside in your home, office, jet or yacht, matched with intriguing features that hold you word for word and photography you can’t stop looking at.
Many are saying that 2025 is the “dawn of a new golden age”. We completely agree. Come along for the ride.
As always, Va Bene!

BEHIND THE WHEEL OF PERFECTION:
A Drive into Banyan Motors
In the heart of Stuttgart, Germany—the birthplace of the automobile and home to the world’s most skilled engineers and craftsmen—Banyan Motors is redefining what it means to restore a classic car. From timeless G-Class models to elegant Pagodas, Fintail Cabriolets, and iconic air-cooled Porsches, Banyan’s work combines old-world artistry with a modern appreciation for luxury and precision. Why Stuttgart? The answer lies in the city’s heritage. It’s the epicenter of the German automotive industry and the birthplace of the car itself. Here, Banyan Motors collaborates with some of the world’s most knowledgeable technicians and artisans—many with lifelong experience at German automakers like Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. This strategic choice ensures that every Banyan vehicle is built with unparalleled expertise and craftsmanship. Although Banyan Motors is an American-founded company, the Stuttgart connection underlines its global vision: to create the world’s best-restored classic cars for a discerning, international clientele. The U.S. foundation provides clients with confidence in the brand’s accessibility and transparency, while the Stuttgart operation ensures the cars are built to exacting German standards.
Here, restoration is more than mechanical—it’s an art form. Each project begins with sourcing a vehicle that is rich in potential and history, whether it’s a rugged G-Class or a refined Porsche. The cars are then stripped down to their bare metal, revealing their essence and setting the stage for meticulous reconstruction.
The restoration process blends time-honored techniques with innovative solutions. Authentic materials are sourced from the original mills and suppliers whenever possible, ensuring that the finished product remains faithful to its heritage. The focus isn’t just on mechanical integrity but on the harmony of every detail, from the precision of the bodywork to the texture of the upholstery.
The interiors of Banyan vehicles are as luxurious as they are thoughtful. Collaborating with some of the most celebrated ateliers in the region, Banyan ensures that every cabin is a work of art. No detail is overlooked. A single crack in a piece of wood isn’t repaired; it’s replaced, ensuring the car’s harmony and perfection. Hand-stitched leather, custom wood paneling, and perfectly aligned trim create an environment that is as inviting as it is beautiful.
Banyan Motors is not only restoring cars; it’s transforming
the customer experience. With a world-class digital configurator, clients can build their dream vehicles in real-time.
From selecting paint colors and interior materials to choosing powertrains and accessories, every option is visualized with stunning clarity. Pricing is transparent, and the process is intuitive, reflecting Banyan’s commitment to clarity and client satisfaction.
Once the car is delivered to the client, the company offers a white-glove ownership experience that goes beyond expectations. From helping clients find trusted mechanics to training service teams on the nuances of maintaining a Banyan vehicle, the team is dedicated to ensuring each car performs flawlessly for years to come.
That is why to own a Banyan car is to own a piece of history. It’s not just about nostalgia—it’s about reinvention. Banyan Motors takes vehicles that were once iconic and makes them relevant again, blending timeless beauty with contemporary convenience.
For those who demand perfection, Banyan Motors offers something truly unique: timeless cars restored with uncompromising quality, ready to write the next chapter of their storied lives.

Turn Back Time
Without the Extreme Measures:
The Mini Facelift You Need to Know About
IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN ABOUT THIS SOONER: THE MINI FACELIFT REVOLUTION
Standing in front of the mirror one morning, I found myself tugging at the sagging skin around my jawline, imagining what it would look like if time had been kinder. I loved everything about growing older—except what it had done to my reflection. I didn’t want to erase years of memories, but I wished my face didn’t tell the story quite so loudly. Like so many others, I assumed that the only way to reclaim my confidence was through an invasive facelift, complete with a daunting recovery process. What I didn’t know was that a simpler, less invasive solution existed: the Mini Face/Awake Lift™.
When I first heard about this innovative procedure at Palm Beach Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, I was introduced to Dr. Barr through a friend, and I am forever grateful to this connection. I was intrigued—and a little skeptical. A facelift without the need for general anesthesia? Back to life in a day? It sounded too good to be true, but the more I learned, the more I realized it might just be the answer I had been seeking.
Unlike traditional facelifts, which can be intimidating and require significant downtime, the Mini Face/Awake Lift™ focuses specifically on the lower face, jawline, and neck—those areas that betray aging most noticeably. It is not just a skin lift, but also encompasses the underlying muscle layer (smas) to improve further long lasting tightening. And here’s the best part: the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, with small incisions made discreetly in the natural creases of the ear. This isn’t about looking drastically different; it’s about restoring what feels like you.
The results are subtle, natural, and long-lasting, and patients often combine the procedure with other “mini” enhancements, such as a Mini Neck Lift, Eyelid Lift, or Mini-brow, all also under local anesthesia. For someone like me—new to cosmetic
procedures—the idea of starting small felt right.
But what really sold me was hearing from others who had undergone the Mini Facelift. One woman shared how her jawline looked like it did a decade ago, and another talked about how the compliments poured in—but no one could quite put their finger on what had changed. And isn’t that what we all want? To feel like the best version of ourselves without it being obvious that we’ve had “work” done?
The recovery time is just as revolutionary. With traditional facelifts, you could be sidelined for weeks. With the Mini Face/ Awake Lift™, most patients are back to their daily lives in just a few days. For me, the convenience of an outpatient procedure was a game-changer.
I can’t help but think about all the mornings I spent wishing for a solution that didn’t feel so extreme or unattainable. If only I’d known sooner that a procedure like this existed—a way to look refreshed, not altered. The Mini Face/Awake Lift™ isn’t just about enhancing your appearance; it’s about restoring your confidence and giving you the freedom to feel like yourself again.
If you’ve been toying with the idea of facial rejuvenation but aren’t quite ready for a full facelift, I encourage you to explore this transformative option. You don’t have to settle for sagging skin, and you don’t have to commit to something that feels overwhelming. Sometimes, a small lift is all it takes to make a big difference.
Take it from someone who wishes they’d learned about this option sooner: the journey to looking and feeling your best doesn’t have to be as complicated as you think. If you’ve ever stared at your reflection and longed for a little extra help, the Mini Face/Awake Lift™ might just be the answer you didn’t know you were looking for.

HOW HORSES HEAL
Written by Natasha Silver Bell
In their stillness, they hold what we cannot grasp: Time without urgency, peace without struggle. Their eyes reflect galaxies of ancient understanding.
"The Healing" ~ Louise Glück
My first job in the mental health field was as a coach for women navigating challenging custody battles. I had never done that kind of work before, but to my great surprise, I was good at it. So, what allowed me to step into these fear and anger-charged spaces and evoke empowerment, competence, and grace without clinical expertise or experience? Horses.
In The Tao of Equus, author Linda Kohanov explains: “Respectful, empathetic interactions with horses also activate the ventral vagus nerve complex in both species, jump-starting feelings of safety through connection… the nervous systems of mammals, including humans and horses, are designed to connect to feel safe, and feeling safe is necessary for promoting wellness, for supporting regulated development of the nervous system, and for encouraging psychological growth and creativity.”
Throughout a childhood spent on and around horses, I forged countless relationships with these powerful - and powerfully intelligent animals - respecting them, befriending them, caring for them, and learning how to keep them clean, safe, and healthy. It turns out they were doing the same for me - and modeling how to create trust and safety with others. While the exact provenance of the quote, “Horses make us better people if we let them,” is unknown, the sentiment
behind it is widely hailed as truth.
Clinical evidence proves that horses facilitate profound therapeutic breakthroughs.
UCLA Health PAC data tells us that Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) lowers stress, enhances recall, quiets our nervous system, and promotes the release of serotonin, prolactin, and oxytocin - hormones that help elevate our mood and encourage social bonding). Equine-assisted Therapy (EAT) harnesses horses' unique emotional attunement and capacity for non-verbal communication. The Journal of Clinical Psychology found that EAT participants showed a 42% reduction in PTSD symptoms, a 35% decrease in anxiety, and a 28% improvement in emotional regulation. What generations of equestrians have intuitively understood is now a well-documented healing modality.
Horses’ ability to mirror our genuine emotions while modeling presence, patience, and acceptance invites us to be more present, fluid, and aware. Kohanov says, “Horses live in the moment, and their influence keeps riders from becoming mired in projections and tricks of the mind. Their nomadic nature encourages a fluidity of thought, emotion, and behavior that sedentary life subconsciously discourages. The simple act of grooming or riding puts people in a state of relaxed heightened awareness conducive to creativity and intuition.”
My daughter Sarah has been riding since she was three and showing since she was 10, but when it comes to horses, her experience goes far beyond technical expertise. “Horses speak in a silent language - they are incredible communicators when they choose to be,” she explains. 'They are amazingly vocal, just not with words. When I ride, I feel how my horses feel that day, and I know what to do with them based on what they're telling me with their body language.”
Sarah says horses keep us honest because they mirror our emotional states. "Until I stopped being nervous about water jumps, my gelding would stop at them,” Sarah recalls. "Once I got over my fear, he did too. They read your energy - they have to feel confident that you're there for them.”
This connection is as grounded as any relationship: patience, trust, respect, boundaries, and humility are key. "Sometimes, they're like little kids testing boundariesthey'll refuse to move until they get their cookie,” she shares. "If you help them when they're scared, they'll help you back. It's a very balanced relationship - but if you break that trust,
they won't try for you anymore. You have to go back to basics and learn together. You can't show up with ego and expect to ride well - horses are too smart for that.”
Horses were my refuge from the tumult of adolescence, and, like Sarah, they offered me more than just companionship – they gave me a masterclass in emotional intelligence. They taught me how to hold space for healing and growth.
Today, as rates of anxiety and depression reach unprecedented levels and we risk falling prey to quick “solutions” and false narratives, horses can teach us to breathe deeper, listen closer, and help us find our way back to ourselves.
“What these magnificent creatures are ceaselessly, patiently teaching us…..[is the]courage and humility, focus and flexibility it takes for a human being to listen to those messages. It's about the quiet pools of reflection we experience in their presence. It's about the transformations that await us when we embrace our seemingly irrational sufferings with the same grace and dignity that horses exhibit in the face of adversity.”

Alexandra Cochrane’s Holistic Approach to Living Well
Written by Margaret Luce
At Wellington Quarterly Magazine, we’re always captivated by stories of individuals who transform challenges into opportunities to inspire others. One such person is Alexandra Cochrane, a wellness entrepreneur who is redefining health and longevity through alternative therapies and innovative technologies.
I was introduced to Alexandra by a mutual friend, Elizabeth Tringali, owner of Tringali Vibrant Health in Palm Beach Gardens. Alexandra was visiting to oversee the installation of the Max Miracle 9600, a cutting-edge red light therapy bed that’s making waves in wellness circles. Her work centers on helping people achieve healthier, more vibrant lives through therapies designed to enhance the body’s natural processes—and she’s a living testament to their effectiveness.
As the founder of Vero Beach-based Scandilabs, Alexandra’s personal health journey has deeply shaped her career. Originally from Sweden, Alexandra spent her twenties as a flight attendant, juggling long hours, constant travel, and a high-energy lifestyle fueled by Red Bull, sugar, and coffee. The toll on her body was significant—she developed fatigue, anxiety, and depression before being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. “The doctor told me I’d be sick for the rest of my life and would need medication forever. That’s when I decided to search for alternative solutions,” she shares.

Alexandra also collaborates with Pneuma Industries, providing access to Hyper Dissolved Oxygen recovery tubs and cold plunge tubs—therapies that help reduce inflammation, strengthen the immune system, and boost cellular regeneration. She’s a proponent of pH Prescription’s innovative water systems, which deliver finely filtered, hydrogen-infused water for optimal health. And, of course, she’s an authorized dealer of red light therapy beds from Red Light Wellness. This groundbreaking therapy rejuvenates cells, reduces signs of aging, and alleviates aches and fatigue. (Trust me, I’ve tried it myself— it’s a game-changer!)
Beyond her role as a distributor, Alexandra oversees the integration of these advanced technologies into private residences, medical clinics, and luxury hotels both locally and internationally. From installation to advising on treatment protocols, she customizes plans based on individual needs, creating a tailored approach to health optimization known as “stacking.”

THE SKIN WHISPERER:
How Milena Segebre Transformed My Skincare Journey
Written by Margaret Luce
For the past 17 years, I’ve had the privilege of entrusting my skin to Milena Segebre, my esthetician, healer, and ultimate skincare guru. Milena’s work goes far beyond facials—she’s the secret to my consistently radiant, healthy skin and has redefined the way I view self-care. To call her just an esthetician is an understatement; she’s a magician in her field, blending science, artistry, and a deeply personal touch. I first met Milena in a doctor’s office, where she worked as a paramedical esthetician. At the time, it was rare to find an esthetician in a plastic surgeon’s office. But even back then, Milena was ahead of her time, proving that skincare isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about wellness and recovery. She introduced lymphatic massages to help patients prepare for and recover from surgery, a practice that’s now widely recognized for its benefits. She saw beauty and health as inseparable, a philosophy that continues to guide her work today.
What truly sets Milena apart is her holistic approach. She doesn’t just treat skin—she treats the person. For Milena, every client is unique, and her approach reflects that. “Assessment is the most important step,” she says. “People often come in asking for a trendy treatment, but I want to know what’s going on beneath the surface first.” Milena is old school in the best way. She relies on her hands, her intuition, and trusted products—not the latest tech fads. Whether she’s shaping eyebrows, suggesting hair color, or giving a signature facial, Milena’s focus is always on enhancing your natural beauty.
Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, Milena trained at the prestigious Ecole Internationale D’Estheticiennes de Direction in Paris in the early 1980s and later honed her craft at the Lia Schorr Institute of Skin Care in New York City. With over 40 years of experience, including two decades in New York and another two in Wellington, she’s built a reputation as a true expert. And now,
with her new location in Palm Beach Gardens, she’s ready to share her magic with even more clients.
Milena doesn’t just provide treatments—she builds lifelong relationships. Some of her clients have been with her for over 20 years and now send their daughters to her. She’s seen me through life’s many twists and turns—health challenges, emotional highs and lows, and the inevitable changes in my skin. Every session feels like a reset, not just for my face but for my mind as well.
One of the things I love most about Milena is her philosophy on skincare. She always reminds me, “Your skin is one of the few organs that regenerates and stays with you forever.” Her approach isn’t about quick fixes or the latest Instagram trend; it’s about understanding the science of healthy skin and committing to long-term care. She’s taught me that true beauty starts from within—hydration, nutrition, and stress management are just as important as any product.
Today, Milena continues to redefine what it means to be an esthetician. “I’m not just here to improve someone’s skin—I’m here to listen, to heal, and to guide,” she says. And she truly means it. Her sessions are as much about therapy as they are about beauty, creating an experience that leaves you glowing inside and out.
If you want healthy, glowing skin, there’s no secret better than Milena Segebre. Her deep expertise and ability to connect personally with her clients make her one of a kind. Whether you’re seeking transformative care, expert advice, or just a dose of her calming wisdom, Milena is the guide you need on your skincare journey.
Her new location, Esthetiques by Milena, is in Palm Beach Gardens, though she still sees many loyal clients in Wellington. With 40 years of knowledge and a track record of stunning results, Milena is in a league of her own. For appointments, call 561.358.0806.
Revolutionizing HAIR RESTORATION
Dr. Martin on Platinum Biologics' Cutting-Edge Approach
Q: WHAT SETS PLATINUM BIOLOGICS’ APPROACH TO HAIR RESTORATION APART FROM OTHER METHODS?
Dr. Martin: Platinum Biologics stands out because of its physician-centric approach and commitment to personalized care. They use high-quality Allogenic biologic products that are tailored to each patient’s needs. Their hair restoration protocols utilize cutting-edge cosmetic products like Wharton’s Jelly-derived mesenchymal stem cell growth factors and umbilical cord derived exosome formulations that both promote and augment the body's natural healing process. These innovative combinations provide a powerful foundation for stimulating hair growth and improving scalp health.
Q: WHERE IN THE PALM BEACHES OR SURROUNDING AREAS CAN WE RECEIVE THIS TREATMENT?
Dr. Martin: Platinum Biologics works with a network of highly skilled physicians in the Palm Beaches and surrounding areas. These treatments are available at select clinics and medspas specializing in regenerative medicine and hair restoration. To find a provider near you, we recommend contacting Platinum Biologics directly for a referral or visiting our website for a list of certified locations.
Q: WHAT MAKES PLATINUM BIOLOGICS PRODUCTS UNIQUE IN THE BIOLOGICS SPACE?
Q: CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHAT ALLOGENIC BIOLOGICS ARE PLEASE WHY USE THEM FOR HAIR RESTORATION?
Dr. Martin: Allogenic Biologic’s are Human Cell and Tissue products (HCTP’s) like Wharton’s Jelly and Exosomes that are sourced from umbilical cord tissue after a C-section delivery. Platinum’s cosmetic biologic’s help create a healthy environment for hair regrowth. At a cellular level, they can augment the body's natural healing process in a number of distinct ways. They contain growth factors that can promote improved blood circulation to the scalp. They contain collagen type I and III that can encourage more robust collagen deposition to support the hair follicle itself. They contain cytokines and signaling molecules that can down-regulate the inflammation caused by peripheral conversion of dihydrotestosterone in the scalp. When taken as a whole, you can start to address the root causes of hair thinning or hair loss. More importantly, patients can avoid more invasive, more costly, and more painful surgical procedures.
Dr. Martin: Platinum Biologics functions as a Physician Centric GPO. They only source products from full-term, consenting mothers at the time of c-section delivery. Their products are only processed in AATB-certified labs that meet the highest quality FDA assurance standards. All of their cosmetic biologics are rigorously tested for communicable and viral diseases. And because patients may have differing reasons for hair loss, Platinum works with a team of outside consultants like myself. We independently collaborate with medical providers through education, peer-to-peer “curbside” consultation, and observational research to help doctors get the best outcomes for the patients in their communities.
Finally, Platinum Biologics is on the cutting edge of New Product development. Just this year they added a GHK-Cu copper peptides complex. GHK-Copper has been used in surgical hair transplant procedures for over 25 years. Platinum Biologics uniquely combined GHK-Cu, Hyaluronic Acid, and Biotin into one amazing product to
support non-surgical scalp restoration procedures. It is an industry Game Changer, and like everything else Platinum Biologics does, takes the therapeutic potential for hair restoration and overall scalp health to the next level.
Q: WHO IS AN IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR BIOLOGIC HAIR RESTORATION?
Dr. Martin: If you are experiencing hair thinning, a receding hairline, or simply lack of hair density in your crown or about the part in your hair, Biologic hair restoration is an excellent solution. The procedure is minimally invasive, requires minimal downtime for recovery, and is a far more affordable solution than local surgery or international travel to Turkey. During a comprehensive consultation, your medical provider can thoroughly assess your needs and determine if this treatment is the right fit.
Q: HOW SOON CAN PATIENTS EXPECT TO SEE RESULTS FROM BIOLOGIC HAIR RESTORATION?
Dr. Martin: Results can vary depending on the individual, but most patients start to notice improvements in hair density, thickness, and quality within three to six months after a series of treatments. Hair regrowth is a gradual process, and multiple sessions may be recommended to achieve optimal outcomes.
Q: IS THE TREATMENT SAFE? WHAT PRECAUTIONS ARE TAKEN TO ENSURE PATIENT SAFETY?
Dr. Martin: Yes, Biologic hair restoration procedures are safe. Platinum Biologics, prioritizes patient safety by using rigorously tested and FDA-compliant cosmetic biologics. Beyond product quality, which should be an industry standard, Platinum prioritizes medical provider support. Their team of medical consultants is available 5 days a week for peer to peer collaboration with clinics and doctors so they have more than just product knowledge. They have protocol knowledge to minimize risks and maximize client outcomes.
Q: WHAT ROLE DOES ONGOING CARE PLAY IN ACHIEVING THE BEST RESULTS?
Dr. Martin: Ongoing care is essential for maintaining and enhancing results. After treatment, patients should follow a scalp care routine and attend follow-up consultations to monitor progress. Platinum Biologics also provides physicians guidance on hair care products and lifestyle adjustments so they can support their patient's long-term
hair health. Diet, supplements, peptide therapy, stress reduction, and routine exercise all play a vital role in scalp health. As such Platinum’s team of outside physician consultants always emphasize a comprehensive approach to hair loss.
Q: HOW DOES PLATINUM BIOLOGICS SUPPORT PHYSICIANS OFFERING THESE
TREATMENTS?
Dr. Martin: For clarity, I am not an owner or employee of Platinum Biologics. I work with a team of outside physician consultants to provide comprehensive support to the hundreds of medical providers that utilize Platinum Biologic’s cosmetic products. As an outside consultant, we have the liberty to talk one-on-one with physicians, medical spas, dermatologists, NP’s, and PA’s both in the field of Regenerative Cosmetics and those that want to transition to the field. We consult 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, and provide honest, clinically based, and evidence-based support because we all use these products in our own clinics. This collaborative approach allows us to continually maintain the highest standards in patient care.
Q: DR. MARTIN, CAN YOU SHARE A BIT ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND AND WHAT INSPIRED
YOU TO GET INVOLVED IN BIOLOGIC HAIR RESTORATION?
Dr. Martin: Unfortunately, the rigors of medical training triggered in me an autoimmune thyroid crisis my first year of residency. This coupled with a family history of male pattern baldness was a relative death sentence for my fragile hair follicles. Despite having a 1000 graft hair transplant in fellowship, I started to lose my hair aggressively in my late 40s. All we had at the time for non-surgical scalp restoration was PRP. As a Board Certified Interventional Pain Doctor, I was handy with a needle and so actually did my own PRP scalp injections. My results were marginal at best, and the procedure was rather painful (a common complaint with dermal PRP scalp injections). My transition to the use of allogenic biologics was born out of necessity, both to achieve better clinical results, but also to achieve less painful results. So I dedicated myself to in-office observational studies as well as daily collaboration with hundreds of physicians from across the country over the past 3 years. Today, I believe we are finally at the point of achieving a formal scalp restoration protocol with predictable, and clinically impressive results. And it is my honor to continue to share those protocols with the hundreds of providers that are using Platinum Biologics cosmetic products across the country and across the globe.

BONDED LOVE, From Cartier
Cartier’s famous Love Bracelet is known the world over as a bonded symbol of eternal love.
Written By Claire-Marie Schkéve
Italian born jewelry designer Aldo Cipullo was new to New York City in the late 60’s, as he was suffering through a bad breakup. To recover,
Cipullo turned his attention to his sketches of rings, necklaces and bracelets that many times contained small industrial nuances he found while walking through a local hardware store on the weekends.
Cipullo was fascinated by the head of a screw, the shape of a hammer, the fluidity of a hose and the strength of a bolt, all which were inspiration for jewelry statements he hoped to create.
He began to center this focus on a bracelet that provided the opportunity to be worn by both sexes but also represented something of a bond between the couples he hoped would wear it. He wanted to create something that could not be taken away. Something he never wanted to lose again: LOVE.
Using the head of a screw to ‘fasten’ the bracelet together was to Cipullo, a way to “lock” the love for one another around the wrist.
Cipullo knew he had designed something “forever” when he found a willing customer in Cartier’s US President, Michael Thomas, who at the time ran the New York Cartier Mansion on 5th Avenue as a separate entity from the famous French Jollier.(In 1979 The New York and London outposts became part of Cartier Paris).
Initially offered only as a set and with an included precious metal, perfectly crafted screwdriver, the Love Bracelet immediately found a celebrity couple following. Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor and The Duke and Duchess of Windsor wore the creation together to show their undeniable love for each other.
The design grew to become an iconic motif for Cartier as Cipullo expanded the offering for Cartier worldwide into rings earrings and more bracelets in 3 shades of gold, some with diamonds and then finally in 2009, when Cartier released a 100-year anniversary collection of the Love Bracelet adorned with colorful stones. This powerful design is one of Cartier’s most important collections and is offered in variations of gold, diamonds and precious stones.
The popularity of the item makes it a fashion focus where it is very common for women to “stack” the bracelet in different varieties on their wrists, thus assembling a cuff look worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The Love Bracelet has become so popular that French hospitals keep a sleek Cartier screwdriver on hand in case an incoming patient needs emergency surgery, and TSA agents worldwide, knowing of the intricate process to remove them from the wrist, now ignore the detection they may cause by first class passengers.
The bracelets have a slight oval shape which helps it to lay flat on the wrist making it comfortable and easy to wear alone or as a compliment to a beautiful gold, two-toned or diamond watch.
Once fastened to the wrist via intricately threaded gold screws, the owner must keep the precious screwdriver in their jewelry box and at the ready or perhaps ignore anyway to remove the piece while enjoying it forever. Very likely what Cipullo intended them to do from the very beginning.

Shhhhhhhhh! Quiet Luxury, The Looks That Don’t Tell
Written by Christina Grazia Poggi
Likely the most iconic brand image is that of a polo player on a horse. Ralph Lauren chose that in 1967 as his masthead and the rest is logo history. But when you slip on a Purple Label 3-ply cashmere sweater or a form-fitting sequin gown with a flowing kick to it, there is no logo in site. There is no need for it. The quality and desirability of the piece is a logo on its own. A vintage Hermes bag, Loro Piano wrap, or Belgian loafers are to those who can afford them, a sign of comfort both in wearability and status. It’s called Quiet Luxury.
Italians call it sprezzatura, defined as ‘a kind of effortless grace, the art of making something difficult look easy, with a style and quality all its own’. The right cashmere scarf, a tweed so soft that you would wear it in the summer if you wanted to or a lambskin
jacket so supple, your friends can’t stop touching it, become as easy as a white tee as you run out the door for the morning espresso.
In the US, it’s also known as ‘stealth wealth’ a way to quietly own the best while not making an “in your face’ statement. This didn’t happen by accident but rather by necessity. Gucci, for one, was known for placing its double G logo on practically everything they offer. To expand its customer base and tap into the younger urban market, Gucci started to exaggerate the logo in ways that screamed “look at me” causing its parent company, Kering, to report a backlash in sales that have negatively affected its bottom line. While other luxury brands were also somewhat guilty of the logo push, they did so in ways that were less evident while also offering several categories with no logo in sight.
Wealthy consumers think of quiet luxury as a matter of investing in fashion or product, rather than spending on them. It involves the consumer having a more mindful approach to making a luxury purchase, or as some describe, “buying forever, not for right now” and “making a purchase that could last a lifetime, not just one season”.
Bottega Venetta, the venerable Italian leather goods brand, eschewed a logo for as long as anyone can remember, focusing instead on its innate quality and unique styling. Its woven leather bags became one of the first quiet luxury pieces to walk the avenues. A relatively young brand (founded in Venice in 1966) Bottega pioneered the art of intrecciato, a complex art of intertwining or weaving strands of soft leather into handbags shoes and small leather goods and offering them at prices some initially found overwhelming. The crème de la crème of luxury shoppers found their products to be an understated way to carry a $5,000 handbag, known as the Hop, going unnoticed in a world of Louis Vuitton Neverfulls, Channel Shoppers and Dior Saddles.
Brands like The Row, Jil Sander, and Loro Piana, have revolutionized ways to wear outfits costing many thousands of dollars while still looking casual, unassuming and under the radar, but no fashion brand currently does it better than Brunello Cuccinelli. Only 45 years in business, Cuccinelli epitomizes the art of dressing softly, stylishly, and without notice. Building an incredible following of high-end consumers who are discreet disciples of pared-down elegance and who can smell real luxury from a mile away, have helped drive the Italian designer’s net worth north of 2 billion dollars.
The immense popularity of HBO’s Succession helped drive attention to the subtle luxuries the costume designer Michelle Matland was after. Realizing that the uber-rich Roy family could afford anything they wanted, Matland embraced the world of quiet luxury by starting with solid, unlogo’d Loro Piana cashmere baseball hats for the male lead played by Jeremy Strong and a deep navy cashmere set by Cuccinelli for Sarah Snook, who played the female star, Shiv Roy.
Matland found that while the uber-wealthy may have the same amounts of monies, they do have different aspirations, so while a Kardashian will flaunt a blingy gown with red-soled knee-high boots, others in that stratosphere will opt instead for crème silk pants, patent leather pumps and a gorgeous velvet blazer from Ralph Lauren.
Quiet luxury often leans into classic tailored silhouettes that typically are in neutral shades of black, grey, beige, and navy. There is very little mixing of colors or even patterns. Along with Loro Piana, Cuccinelli, and Lauren, there are also plenty of options to achieve this style at The Row, Jil Sandler, and Max Mara, amongst others.
Luxury retail consultant Robert Burke may have said it best when asked to comment on the quiet luxury space, “When you know, you know, and that’s sort of the point. The people they care about, the people in their rooms, know exactly what they’re wearing. And they’re the only ones who really matter.”
Christina Grazia Poggi, is an Italian writer from Como, Italy who frequently writes about fashion brands rooted in her native country. She is known in her village as ‘La signora con la sciarpa’ because she is never without her silk scarf.
WELLIE AND TRULY FABULOUS
The Boot That Conquered History, Fashion, and Equestrian Life
Written by Colleen Guilfoile Richmond
The Wellington boot, or “Wellie” as it’s affectionately called, is more than just a practical piece of footwear. It’s an enduring symbol of versatility, steeped in history, and now a cornerstone of equestrian life and style. What began as a military innovation has not only weathered the centuries but also evolved into a chic fashion statement.
The story begins in the early 19th century with Arthur Wellesley, the 1st Duke of Wellington. Fresh off his legendary victory against Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, Wellesley turned his attention to his wardrobe. He desired a boot that could transition seamlessly from battlefield to ballroom,
blending style with function. Enter Hoby of St. James’s, London, the Duke’s shoemaker. At Wellesley’s request, Hoby transformed the Hessian boot—a highheeled, tasseled military staple—into something sleeker. The result was the first “Wellington boot,” made of soft calfskin leather with a streamlined silhouette and a lower heel. It was practical for riding yet polished enough for high society.
The style caught on quickly, becoming a symbol of sophistication among the British elite. But the Wellie’s transformation had only just begun.
By the mid-19th century, Charles Goodyear’s invention of vulcanized rubber revolutionized the manufacturing of waterproof footwear. This
innovation reached British bootmaker North British Rubber Company (later known as Hunter), which began producing rubber Wellington boots in the 1850s. These boots were durable, waterproof, and ideal for working in the damp British countryside. Farmers, laborers, and even soldiers adopted them en masse.
During both World Wars, millions of rubber Wellingtons were supplied to soldiers in muddy trenches, cementing their reputation as the ultimate all-weather boot. Post-war, the humble Wellie transitioned into
civilian life, becoming essential for anyone navigating rainy days or muddy fields.
Though originally designed for military and agricultural use, the Wellie boot found a natural home in equestrian culture. Its waterproof design made it indispensable for stable work, from mucking stalls to crossing waterlogged paddocks. Over time, bootmakers refined the design, creating versions specifically tailored for riders. These included longer shafts for added protection and thicker soles for durability in stirrups.
Today, the Wellie boot is as iconic in the stable as the saddle. From grooms to riders, it’s trusted for its practicality and comfort, ensuring that equestrians can tackle any condition with ease and style.
While the Wellie has always been the go-to for keeping your feet dry, its rise to fashion fame is a story worth telling. The transformation really took off in the mid-20th century, thanks to the British royals—Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana—who showed the world that a boot made for muddy fields could be just as chic as it is functional. Whether they were casually roaming the Balmoral
estate or giving the cameras their best royal poise, they turned these practical boots into the ultimate style statement
Fast-forward to today, and the Wellie is no longer confined to the countryside. Designers have elevated it into a chic urban accessory. Brands like Hunter, Le Chameau, and Aigle offer boots in bold colors, glossy finishes, and even limited-edition collaborations. High-fashion houses, including Chanel and Balenciaga, have introduced their own interpretations of the Wellington boot, turning it into a runway darling.
For equestrians, the Wellie remains a practical staple, but its role has expanded. A well-chosen pair can transition from the stable to casual outings without missing a beat. Today’s boots are designed with advanced technology—insulated linings for winter, ergonomic fits for comfort, and even eco-friendly materials for sustainability-conscious consumers.
In equestrian circles, the Wellie boot has become a status symbol as much as a utility item. A polished pair of Le Chameaus or a custom-colored Hunter boot signals not just taste but a lifestyle rooted in tradition, elegance, and the outdoors.
WHY THE WELLIE ENDURES
The Wellington boot endures because it embodies the best of both worlds: form and function, history and innovation. It’s a nod to the past while embracing the future, a piece of heritage that adapts to modern needs. For equestrians, it’s more than a boot—it’s a trusted companion, a style statement, and an essential tool.
So, the next time you slip into your Wellies, remember that you’re stepping into history. From the battlefields of Waterloo to the barns of Wellington, the journey of this iconic boot is as enduring as its design.
Long live the Wellie!
A Rock Like No Other
Weitten by Joseph Pietrafesa
In the sparkling world of diamonds, exceptional and large stones are often awarded distinguished pedigrees by gemologists. Notable examples include the Hope Diamond, Wittelsbach, Artemus, Apollo, and Venus, each renowned for their unique cut, clarity, color, size, and rarity.
Provident Jewelry in Wellington possesses such an extraordinary gem—a 100.08-carat diamond that remains unnamed. This stone is believed to be one of the rarest of its kind in the world. Its rarity is so exceptional that, once sold, it will be given its own name and pedigree, as per Provident’s GIA adhered to standards.
The custom setting for this diamond was meticulously designed and handcrafted by Provident’s skilled artisans. It features a double-ring structure to secure the large stone, complemented by intricate, diamond-accented filigree at its base.
Geoff Fear, partner and owner of Provident Jewelry’s Wellington location, speaks passionately about this remarkable gem. “There is truly nothing like this stone,” he states. Diamonds consist of carbon atoms arranged in rigid tetrahedrons or triangular pyramids. Pure diamonds are transparent and colorless, qualities that make them exceptionally rare and valuable. This diamond is part of that exclusive category.
The color in a diamond is formed when trace elements, such as nitrogen, sulfur, or boron, interact with carbon atoms during the diamond’s formation, resulting in hues of yellow, green, or blue. This 100+ carat stone features a precise alignment of these pyramidal structures which truly enhances the diamond’s inherent beauty. Despite the possibility of cutting or dividing such a large stone into smaller pieces, this 100.08-carat gem was preserved intact to maintain its magnificent form.
Formed in a pillow cut, the diamond has already attracted significant interest from investors and collectors due to its immense
value and rarity. Large diamonds are considered part of the tangible asset class. They are physical, valuable objects, they can be touched, seen, and measured. Diamonds, especially large and rare ones, can also be viewed as long-term investments due to their intrinsic value, scarcity, and market demand. Like other precious physical assets such as real estate or fine art, diamonds can appreciate over time and are often used as a store of value or collateral for financial transactions. This is why inquiries to purchase this stone have come from Asia and across much of the European Union, yet it remains exclusively on display in Wellington.
Provident Jewelry began its journey as an estate jeweler, specializing in heirloom pieces across various categories. Drawing from this foundation, the founding family expanded their offerings to include prestigious brands like Chopard, Bulgari, Roberto Coin, and Buccellati. As the business grew and new generations took the helm, expansion continued strategically, ensuring each new location was chosen for its experienced and knowledgeable operators.
Geoff Fear, a fixture at Sunday Polo in Wellington and a longtime independent seller of luxury watches and fine automobiles, first joined Provident at their Jupiter store before becoming an owner and partner at the Wellington location. Describing the stores design and layout, Fear said, “We wanted to create something unique for the equestrian community,” referring to the shared passion many have for high-end cars, exquisite jewelry, and fine watches.
“We saw this as an opportunity to provide a comfortable, ultra-stylish shopping experience,” says Fear. The Provident Wellington store boasts an elegant wine room or lounge adjacent to
the main showroom, featuring warm wood tones, equestrian-style seating, decor, and sleek glass enclosures. The watch collection includes rare and collector-quality timepieces from exclusive brands such as Parmigiani Fleurier, Armin Strom, Bucherer, MB&F, and Louis Moinet—brands that few have the chance to encounter—as well as strong partnerships with Breitling, Franck Muller, Bell & Ross, and Cartier. “It’s very common for us to have customers from around the world visit while they’re in town for a polo match or Grand Prix event,” says Fear. “They can enjoy a bottle of wine or champagne as they browse for the perfect piece of jewelry or an exceptional watch.”
Provident takes pride in having on-site watchmakers and gemologists who not only provide exceptional service and repairs but also craft custom settings or a one-of-a-kind “Piece Unique” designed and tailored to each customer’s specifications.
“When you shop with us in Wellington, you’ll immediately feel the difference,” says Fear. “And we do it all at prices much lower than those of national brands. It all circles back to our original purpose of selling estate pieces. Our customers are clients for life.”
DROPPING THE HAMMER
Fine art, jewels and antiquities have always been the most admired items at auction, until recently when the elusive “Birkin” started taking top billing.
Women of stature, grand dames of style and over paid influencers worldwide all have one thing in common. A Birkin Bag, by Hermès. Oh, but not so fast…the coveted accessory is not something you point to and acquire that easily off boutique shelves. Far from it, in fact rarely would you even find an actual “for sale” Birkin anywhere in sight without a serious “spend” history with the venerable Paris fashion house. However, if you can appreciate the enormous appreciation in value or even the status carrying one may bring you, then buying one at auction (sometimes as much as 2.5 times its original retail) is the ultimate “joie de vivre!”
Sotheby’s, arguably the largest auction house in the world, has built this reputation since 1744 selling Masterpieces of art from Warhol, Picasso, Monet, Koons (to name just a few) jewelry pieces such as Marie Antoinette’s pearl earrings and The Zoe Diamond, iconic fine timepieces like the Grand Master Chime from Patek or a bevy of Paul Newman Rolex Daytona’s, but perhaps some of the most serious and furious bidding takes place in the beginning of December during the “Luxury Sales” series. Including a month-long preview, the mid December auctions are held in London, New York, Hong Kong, Zurich and Geneva.
Along with wine, spirits, real estate and jewels, some of the more focused buyers (“…never get between a girl and her Birkin”) are looking for the sculpted leather and polished hardware of a Birkin Bag.
The bag was originally designed by actress and singer, Jane Birkin and Hermès CEO Jean-Louis Dumas in 1984 when (as the story goes) the two met on a flight from Paris to London and she politely suggested that M. Dumas make a more practical purse for a woman but also something that would last for years. Known for its classic elements such as two rolled handles, a flap top, a clochette and four “clou” feet, the Birkin bag remains highly sought after by celebrities and collectors not only due to its exclusivity and impeccable craftsmanship, but by the supply levels so strictly controlled by the company.
Sometime in the early 1990’s Sotheby’s harvested the enthusiasm for the product and sought buyers, many of whom had become private collectors of the accessory in their homes across the world. Still made by hand at a snail’s pace, the Birkin, and especially those lucky enough to own one, rose to headline status during the Luxury Sales put together by Sotheby’s.
Solid color leather bags (pre-loved) with either gold or palladium hardware are typically selling on the secondary or auction market for between $20,000-30,000 dollars, but it is the more rare or limited production pieces that are setting records.
A very lite green matte alligator Birkin 20, described as “Vert D’eau” recently sold for over $115,000.00 and a Birkin 30 constructed of Niloticus crocodile skin dyed in a white and grey gradient intended to evoke the white-capped peaks of the Himalaya Mountains, just sold for nearly halfa million dollars and there doesn’t seem to be an end to the madness as current pre-auction catalogues show several options available at starting bids in the mid-two hundred thousand range.
Sotheby’s ensures the authenticity of each offering after sending the consigned pieces through a vigorous process in its valuations department. Experts from several countries can many times trace the provenance of the bag to the day it was made, a comfort to all buyers of high-end luxury items.
The auction process usually starts with a preview runway where buyers and collectors can browse a printed and online catalogue of the item’s weeks in advance. Buyers from Asia to New York flock to the Sotheby’s showrooms for cocktails and lite bites before taking their seats: paddles in hand and then item by item, a highly polished auctioneer takes the podium and begins with a detailed item description and opening bids of interest, usually taken from earlier online buyers.
Each side of the showroom contains tiered banks of phone operators or private client representatives advising worldwide clients of the bids being enthusiastically mentioned by the auctioneer who is typically a well-dressed man or woman and who physically brings the audience into focus with hand gestures and whimsical banter.
From the high perched podium, you hear sounds of “supple leather, distinctive curves, exceptional hardware and couleur magique” transport through the room and over the phone lines as bids come through in increments of $10,000 at a time.
As interest reaches its peak, the auctioneer often leans out and over the podium almost pulling every incremental bid forward until he/she reaches for a gavel, holds it high into the air citing, “fair warning!” and then, “sold!” capping off a gentle battle for luxury, usually met with light applause from those in attendance.
Christina Poggi has graciously written for WQ Magazine in the past and frequently attends Sotheby auctions in Geneva. Sadly, she does not yet own a Birkin.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT WELLINGTON INTERNATIONAL
Written by Colleen Guilfoile Richmond
The clip-clop of hooves echoes across pristine arenas, the glint of sun-kissed bridles catches the light, and the air buzzes with cheers for athletes—both human and equine. Welcome to Wellington International, a place where world-class competition and vibrant community spirit collide in an epic celebration of equestrian sport.
Founded in 1974 by Gene Mische, the visionary behind Stadium Jumping, Inc., Wellington International began as a dream to bring the glamour of elite show jumping to U.S. soil. Nearly five decades later, it’s a global icon, drawing top riders and horses from over 42 countries to its arenas. Today, Wellington International stands as a unique, world-class destination, hosting Olympic-caliber athletes and competitions. With over 42 weeks of competitions each year, it is considered one of the largest and longest-running equestrian events worldwide.
Think of Wellington International as the Super Bowl of the equestrian world, minus the helmets but with plenty of horsepower. Unlike training facilities, this is where champions are crowned. From January through March, the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) and Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) turn this South Florida haven into a pulsating hub of talent. Over 7,000 horses and 10,000 participants flood the grounds, each vying for glory in a spectacle of skill and grace. For locals, the ESP Annual Series keeps the momentum going the rest of the year, proving that
Wellington International isn’t just for snowbirds. These competitions cater to everyone, from up-and-coming riders testing their mettle to seasoned pros refining their craft.
Spanning 111 lush acres, Wellington International is a paradise for horses and riders alike. There are 14 cutting-edge competition arenas, over 500 permanent stalls, and miles of dedicated trails and paths. Add to that Equestrian Village across the street, featuring a covered arena and a jaw-dropping derby field, and you’ve got a facility that’s second to none.
But it’s not just about the competition. Wellington’s charm extends beyond the showgrounds. The surrounding community offers everything from world-class dining to boutique shopping, all within a golf cart ride of the action. Oh, and did we mention it’s just 30 minutes from downtown West Palm Beach?
When the sun dips below the horizon, the real magic begins. Events like Saturday Night Lights (SNL) and Friday Night Stars (FNS) transform Wellington International into a festival of excitement. Think Grand Prix competitions under the stars, complete with live music, family activities, and gourmet dining.
Marquee events are the heartbeat of Wellington International, showcasing the very best in equestrian sport. These include:
• The Great Charity Challenge, a philanthropic extravaganza that raises millions for local charities.
• $150,000 Nations Cup CSIO4*, a team-based competition that tests the mettle of international riders.
• $100,000 Peter Wetherill WCHR/USHJA Hunter Spectacular, a showcase of grace and precision.
• And the crown jewel, the $750,000 Rolex U.S. Equestrian Open CSI5 Grand Prix*, where the elite of the elite vie for ultimate glory.
Community is at the heart of Wellington International. Its crown jewel, The Great Charity Challenge, pairs equestrians with local non-profits to make a tangible difference in Palm Beach County. Since its inception, this event has raised over $2 million annually, proving that the spirit of giving can be as exhilarating as the sport itself.
At Wellington International, equine welfare isn’t just a priority; it’s an obsession. Annual safety reviews, state-ofthe-art surfaces, and onsite veterinary services ensure that every horse is treated like the high-performance athlete it is. The Official Veterinary Partner, Palm Beach Equine Clinic, is always on hand, while the staff receives specialized training to handle every equine need.
Wellington International rolls out the red carpet for first-timers with free public access, live-streamed competitions, and beginner-friendly guides on its website. Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines or getting up close to the action, you’re in for an unforgettable experience.
The future is looking brighter (and bigger) than ever. Plans are underway to expand south of the existing facility, creating a unified space for jumping and dressage disciplines. This bold vision promises to elevate Wellington International from world-class to downright legendary.
Wellington International isn’t just a venue; it’s a movement, a celebration, and a community rolled into one. Whether you’re a lifelong equestrian, a curious newcomer, or someone who simply loves the thrill of competition, this is a place where memories are made, and dreams take flight.
So grab your sun hat, embrace the excitement, and let Wellington International sweep you into a world where the elegance of equestrian sport meets the pulse of a global community.

CIGARS: A BIOGRAPHY
ACCLAIMED AUTHOR AARON (SIG) SIGMOND HAS DONE IT AGAIN.
HIS WRITTEN KNOWLEDGE (NOW NUMBERING AT OVER 20) ON NUMEROUS TOPICS INCLUDING FINE MECHANICAL TIMEPIECES, HOTELS, AUTOMOBILES—ALL OF WHICH FALL WITHIN THE SOMEWHAT VAGUE “MEN’S LUXURY” CATEGORY—CIRCLE BEAUTIFULLY BACK
TO ONE OF HIS FAVORITE SUBJECTS, HIS LOVE FOR CIGARS. AN ACCOUTREMENT THAT HAS BEEN A PART OF HIS LIFE SINCE COLLEGE.
This explains why he is releasing his fifth book on the subject, which also seems to be his most personal volume to date and titled:
CIGARS: A BIOGRAPHY.
A coffee-table tome that is part history book, part travelogue, part photographic monograph and part luxury reference work. It’s a comprehensive and contemporary survey of cigars that lightly weaves in the narrative tapestry anecdotes from more than 35 years as a notable cigar pundit—travels that have taken Sig to cigar factories and festivals, tobacco farms, cigar merchants and lounges around the world. So, while “Biography” refers to cigars themselves, not to Sig, the book has some autobiographical elements as well.
Partly an anthology, featuring previously published articles and book excerpts that have been thoughtfully updated, as well as previously unpublished images that Los Angeles-based photographer Ian Spanier has shot over the last decade and a half, blend seamlessly with new photographs taken exclusively for the book over the past two years.
This limited first-edition monograph also marks Sigmond’s fourth publishing collaboration with Spanier, who often accompanies him on his cigar adventures. Shot on location in Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Honduras, Mexico, Los Angeles, as well as up and down the eastern seaboard, from Tampa and Miami to New York City and Windsor, Connecticut as well as locations in Europe and Australia.
What sets this book apart from Sigmond’s other literary and photographic accomplishments is simple: It’s the one Spanier and he have long envisioned, their first without others’ involvement or influence. The completion of a passion project in every sense of the term. As Cyril Connolly, the famed English literary critic, once said, “Better to write for
yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.”
“I wrote this book, and Ian shot it, for us, with the hope, of course, that it will find an audience,” says Sigmond. That audience is other cigar connoisseurs worldwide. We hope they/you agree.”
CIGARS: A Biography includes a foreword by Tom Chamberlin, ardent cigar enthusiast and editor-in-chief of The Rake, the world’s leading publication on classic men’s style and good living. All photographs by Ian Spanier. This hand-bound illustrated volume designed by award-winning creative director Liliana Guia, is presented in a handcrafted cigar case–inspired slipcase, is a must-have for any cigar aficionado.
YVONNE CLAVELOUX: The Soulful Palette of Mixed Media
Written by Colleen Guilfoile Richmond
In the vibrant world of contemporary art, Yvonne Claveloux stands as a dynamic force, crafting works that are as bold and honest as they are visually captivating. Her creations span an impressive range of mediums, from acrylic and graphite to gesso and watercolors, forming a signature style that celebrates movement, color, and emotion. For Claveloux, mixed media is not just a method—it’s an artistic identity.
"I’ve always been attracted to mixed media because I think it provides a level of depth and richness to artwork," she shares. "Each piece has its own unique personality, which really defines the essence of my work. I love experimenting with different materials to create a sense of motion within my paintings. It’s a process that’s both fun and endlessly inspiring."
Yvonne’s creative journey began while studying fashion design at Marangoni Instituto in Milan, a city that cemented her love for aesthetics and design. Over the years, her artistic pursuits have taken many forms,
including running her own interior design firm and working as the head stylist for AtHome Magazine. It was during this time that she began to develop her unique style, eventually transitioning to painting full-time.
Though largely self-taught, Claveloux took classes at the prestigious Silvermine Arts Center in Connecticut to lay the groundwork for her craft. This blend of formal study and self-directed exploration has shaped her uniquely uninhibited approach. "While my education ensures balance in my work, being mostly self-taught has given me the freedom to express myself without boundaries," she reflects. "It’s a liberating process."
Raised with Cuban roots and shaped by the kaleidoscopic energy of Miami, Claveloux infuses her work with cultural and environmental vibrancy. "The colorful palette in my paintings reflects my deep connection to my heritage and Miami’s dynamic energy," she explains. "From the pops of color in art deco architecture to the bright beachfront hues, those vivid tones find their way into my art, creating a saturated, joyful aesthetic."
Her artistry is further enriched by a life of travel, a passion ignited in childhood as her father’s career took the family around the globe. "We lived in places like Switzerland, Italy, and California, which exposed me to a variety of cultures and people," she recalls. "Those experiences shaped who I am as a person and an artist. Each city, each culture—there’s a story there that I carry with me into the studio."
Yvonne paints from her home studios in Westport and Miami, two waterfront locations that heavily influence her creative process. "The ocean plays such a big role in my life and art," she says. "Whether it’s a walk on the beach or an afternoon on the boat, those moments fuel my creativity and influence the movement and colors in my work."
Her process is one of intuition and discovery. "I usually start with a color palette in mind, but the process evolves as I work," she reveals. "It’s less about predicting the final result and more about embracing the journey. Sometimes, stepping back for a fresh perspective takes a piece in a completely unexpected direction, and I love seeing where it ends up."
Described as bright, bold, soulful, and honest, her paintings resonate deeply with her audience. "I aim to spark joy through my work," she says. "It’s rewarding when someone connects with the drips, smudges, and colors, and finds happiness through my art in their own space. Authenticity is key—I think it helps create a personal connection."
Yvonne’s works are displayed in galleries and interior design stores, a testament to her growing impact. "Seeing my work in those spaces is such a proud moment," she says. "It’s gratifying to connect with collectors and art lovers in such incredible environments."
What’s next for this multi-talented artist? "I’m transforming my business into a lifestyle brand," she reveals. "Clients started requesting my designs on products like water bottles and towels, so I ventured into apparel, fabrics, wallpaper, and stationery. It’s thrilling to see my work take on new life. There’s so much more to come."
From her early days in Milan to her dual life in Westport and Miami, Yvonne Claveloux’s creative journey is one of evolution and vibrancy. She continues to push boundaries, infusing her art with the energy, culture, and soul that make her work unmistakably her own.

The Chef's Table
Chef Matteo Caboni, Executive Chef at Le Bar, Palm Beach
Writen by Marci Moreau
Achef’s culinary beginning often shapes their entire relationship with food, and for many chefs, it’s the early experiences that inspire a lifelong commitment to celebrating all there is of life, with food. Such beginnings, when graced with a robust gastronomical presence can transform food into a powerful symbol across cultures, transcending its role as mere sustenance to become an embodiment of identity, tradition, community, love, and of course, power.
For Chef Matteo Caboni, beginning his journey on the idyllic island of Sardinia, surrounded by family, food, and tradition, allowed him to realize all of this, but especially, for Chef Matteo, his origins made food’s power to connect, and create, and inspire, omnipresent.
Growing up in the rich traditions of Italian heritage, with an aunt who managed a small, family-run hotel called Piccolo Hotel, located right by the beach, Matteo spent his summers helping out in every department — from housekeeping to the bar, but what was most memorable to him, and the place he first fell in love, was in the kitchen.
It was here that he discovered his deep passion for the culinary arts, drawn not just to the food, but to the creativity and design involved in every dish. Though initially torn between pursuing a career in Architecture and Design or becoming a chef, he ultimately embraced his culinary calling — a decision that reflects his belief that being a chef is not only about cooking but also about designing memorable experiences with one’s hands.
And so he has, actually traveling the world, making a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to savor his work. Chef Matteo Caboni’s impressive culinary career has taken him to several world-renowned establishments, each contributing to his evolving expertise and distinctive culinary style, that has provided him with a wealth of diverse culinary techniques, an innovative approach to ingredients, and a deep respect for tradition. From Italy, to France, Spain, Denmark, and Greece, his global fusion of gastronomical experiences, all have pointed him to his current role as Executive Chef at Le Bar, Palm Beach.
After honing his skills as an R&D Chef for an Italian fine dining restaurant group in Miami, Matteo received a life-changing offer from Le Bar, and the proposal to join one of the notably finest establishments in Palm Beach, with owner and visionary, Ann DesRuisseaux, at the helm, the offer was one Matteo couldn’t resist, and he immediately said “yes.”
At Le Bar, Chef Matteo brings his Italian heritage to life with a menu that masterfully balances tradition and innovation. Honoring the culinary traditions of Italy while incorporating contemporary influences, each dish tells a story of craftsmanship and passion.
Chef Matteo’s artistry shines through offerings like Tagliolini alla Nerano, a delicate harmony of fried baby zucchini, zucchini blossoms, and Parmesan sauce, or the rustic elegance of Cavatelli di Ricotta with fava bean cream, crispy guanciale, and Pecorino.
For seafood lovers, the Chilean Seabass alla Pizzaiola, topped with pizzaiola sauce, crispy olives, and capers, reflects the Mediterranean vibrancy Chef Matteo celebrates. Meat dishes like the Lamb Scottadito, served with cauliflower cream and truffle sautéed spinach, and the luxurious Beef Tenderloin, paired with truffle potato millefoglie, present a sophisticated interpretation of classic flavors we all know and love.
Nestled in the heart of Palm Beach Island, Chef Matteo doesn’t just cook food, and Le Bar doesn’t just serve food, together they curate an experience. The vibrant supper club atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for Chef Matteo’s creations, combining the best flavors of the past with authenticity, precision, and a modern edge. At Le Bar, with Chef Matteo, dining transcends the plate, offering guests an unforgettable culinary journey.
HOW DID YOUR CULINARY JOURNEY BEGIN?
My culinary journey started when I was 16, I remember my aunt was managing a Hotel in my Island, called Piccolo Hotel, which in Italian means little. In fact, it was little, and located right on the beach, in Sardinia, a beautiful escape to stay and relax. Every summer I would go and help in every department. From housekeeping, to the bar, and finally into the kitchen. I was amazed from the rhythm of the hospitality business, and I found the rhythm in the kitchen was my favorite. So when I’ve finished high school, in Tourist and Economy, I was
undecided if I should continue my studies in Architecture & Design, or go back in the kitchen and be a Chef…I guess we know now the answer. Even though I decided to be a chef I do believe my work in the kitchen is similar to architecture and design work. With my own hands, I use food to create and design dishes, that are beautiful to look at.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO LE BAR?
I was working in Miami, as a R&D Chef for an Italian fine dining Restaurant Group, when Antonio Mellino, Patron Chef from ‘Quattro Passi’ in Nerano (Italy), a beautiful 3 Michelin Star Restaurant in Amalfi coast, called me and propose me to be his right hand in his new project, at Le Bar. I said “yes” right away. Having the opportunity to run a fine dining restaurant in the heart of Palm Beach Island, and mentor a 3 Michelin star chef doesn’t happens everyday. Especially when the restaurant is owned by one of the best, Ann DesRuisseaux, the offer was one I couldn’t resist, and I immediately said “yes.”
WHAT ROLES DOES YOUR HERITAGE PLAY WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD?
I think is important to give traditions the right value, because they are very significant to me, and my work. Everything I’ve learned since the first time I stepped in the kitchen, is all part of my work.
I use every detail I have ever learned when I develop recipes and prepare food, even the smallest detail can be very important at the end of the day. I try to remember all of it and apply the old techniques to the newest, in my cuisine.
I’m now more focused than ever, creating old recipes with a twist of modernity. After all, why change something that already works perfectly? You can just elevate it using the best ingredients, and maybe sometimes adding your touch.
ARE THERE ANY NEW FOOD TRENDS OR INGREDIENTS THAT EXCITE YOU RIGHT NOW?
I’ve always been curious to try new foods, and dishes, recipes. I remember few years ago it was my dream to work in a famous restaurant in Denmark called Noma. Noma was the best restaurant in the Top 50 Best Restaurant in the world for 6 times, so I’ve started to read all the books, study the recipes, understand the fermentation world and how food can change with it.
And here’s a fun fact, after all my studying, I received the opportunity to be part of their team and I worked there for a while, trying out all their amazing techniques.
Today, I am interested in plant based foods, after spending some time at Eleven Madison Park. I understand the power and importance vegetables and plant foods can have and I like to reach for them when I develop new dishes.
IS THERE A SIGNATURE DISH THAT REPRESENTS YOUR CULINARY STYLE OR PHILOSOPHY?
I would say that I love traditions when it comes to food and recipes. I came from a place rich with them, from the culture to the culinary, so for me is important respect traditions. But I’m also aware that with the new techniques and new trends we have in the culinary world right now it is possible to modify and elevate traditional foods and recipes to another level. Anytime I cook traditional foods and recipes, and do a little more with it, it is exciting and is my favorite thing to do.
All of the dishes on our menus at Le Bar are part of me and my history and I hope they bring back memories for people. People who love food believe food is evocative, and my style is to make people feel good when they are dining.
PEOPLE WHO LOVE FOOD BELIEVE
Having spent a lot of time working in kitchens around the world, you see a lot of new ingredients, new combinations of ingredients and flavors, and sometimes when you try something new your palate just turns on, making it impossible to forget. For me, today, every time I try new food, I have an emotional reaction, from the simplest foods to the most complicated.
WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A CHEF FOR YOU?
Working in the kitchen is so much more than people realize- it’s not just about being in front of the fires and making something delicious. We make so much more. When you work in a restaurant, you create a kind of family, a synchronism between the team, from the waiters, and the chefs, and everyone working in between.
REACTION TO FOOD?
FOOD IS EVOCATIVE. WHEN WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU FELT AN EMOTIONAL
When I was a child I grew up going every Sunday going to my grandma’s house for the “family reunion.” And I have this memory of my grandma cooking tomato sauce, from scratch. I still remember thesmell of her tomato sauce and how good that made me feel. And, of course, I think I will never make a better sauce than my grandma used to make.
If you think about it, you spend more time at work than in your other parts of your hobbies, at least is like that for me, or for many working in this field. You share your life, your time, your jokes, your personality, creating connections that stay with you forever.
For me, it’s important to transmit the passion I have to the team. I want them to understand how much they matter- when the chef manages every single ingredients, or for the waiters when they serve and present food to guests. I want them to enjoy doing it, because only in this way you can we deliver the best version of your food.
In the end, teaching, and helping my people grow and develop their knowledges is the key to a building a successful restaurant and a great team.
HEY CHEF, WHAT DOES YOUR TABLE LOOK LIKE?
My table always looks like a convivial table, no matter who sits at my table, it becomes a celebration. I like to think food unites people more than anything else, and it’s always fun to discover shared dishes across cultures, even if they go by different names.
I’ve travel a lot during the past years, and one thing I always notice is how often conversations with strangers from different countries always begin with food. There is something very special that happens when people from all over the world, that do not know each other at all, sit down at the same table and they start talking abut what they love to eat-whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner. When we talk about food, it is like we speak the same language and everyone understands each other.
I truly believe through food, and sitting at any table, is one of the most powerful ways to connect with people.
THE REIMAGINED ESPRESSO MARTINI
A Bold Twist with Chrome Horse Society Tequila
The espresso martini, a contemporary classic, has become a symbol of sophistication and energy in cocktail culture. Created in the 1980s by renowned bartender Dick Bradsell, it was famously inspired by a patron’s request for something that would "wake me up and mess me up." The original recipe blends vodka, freshly brewed espresso, coffee liqueur, and a hint of sweetness, delivering a rich, velvety concoction that balances the boldness of coffee with the smoothness of spirits. Over the years, this cocktail has evolved, embracing new flavors and spirits to suit modern tastes.
One such innovation is the use of Chrome Horse Society Tequila, a refined luxury spirit conceived by Jack Morgan, founder of Chrome Horse Society Tequila. Morgan's vision merges his passions for equestrian life, fashion, and world travel with a spirit that resonates with modern sophistication. “Tequila has always been my go-to, yet I found nothing in the market that resonated with the sophistication and forward-thinking aesthetic I envisioned,” Morgan explains. Chrome Horse Society Tequila is crafted with 100% natural ingredients and utilizes advanced triple-distillation technology to create a spirit of unparalleled quality.
Its clean, smooth profile, perfect for both sipping neat and mixing, brings an entirely new depth to the espresso martini. The subtle agave notes complement the boldness of espresso, resulting in a cocktail that is as modern and refined as the spirit itself. By merging the traditional elegance of the espresso martini with the innovation and luxury of Chrome Horse Society Tequila, this updated version embodies the modern spirit of tequila and its aficionados, offering an experience that is both daring and exquisite.

MAXIMAL IMPACT The Divine Vision of Hutton Wilkinson
“If it’s not fabulous it’s meaningless!”
-Hutton Wilkinson
Written by Dorian May
Photography by John Antonini
Both fabulous and meaningful are the homes in Paris, New York and California, a palazzo in Venice, a palace in Saudi Arabia and a Bangkok hotel that are just a few of the design projects that dot designer and tastemaker Hutton Wilkinson’s remarkable resume. As the Owner, Creative Director and President of design firm Tony Duquette Inc, Wilkinson has, for over fifty years, carried on the legacy of lavish and grand glamor, even when popular culture shifted interior paradigms towards minimalism, mid-century and Shabby Chic.
“I’m searching for inner peace through materialism,” laughs Wilkinson and one is unsure if he is being serious or silly. Very quickly you determine that he is both. A perennial quick wit and a lover of all things luxe.
Hutton Wilkinson was born in Los Angeles, California and
practically grew up in the architectural offices of his father and grandfather. At eighteen, he had the opportunity to apprentice under the renowned American designer Tony Duquette, known for his opulent interior decoration of iconic Hollywood homes. After working for Duquette as a volunteer apprentice for two years and then three more as a paid assistant designer, Wilkinson opened his own successful interior design firm while still collaborating frequently with Duquette for the next twenty-five years as they shared an overall aesthetic philosophy. “My motto to live by was Tony Duquette’s favorite expression ‘more is more’”, exclaims Wilkinson. “I’ve also been known to preach that, “I pray every night that people with taste get money and people with money get taste.” Wilkinson pauses before delivering his punchline, “My prayer was answered, and the answer was ‘no’!”
While sourcing one-of-a-kind antiques and creating custom designed furniture ensure that no two spaces are the same, the color green is prevalent in many of Wilkinson’s projects. “Tony Duquette taught me that green was a neutral color and it just happens to be (along with coral) my favorite hue in a strong malachite or emerald shade. Green envelops a room and creates the perfect background for patterns or gilded highlights, it is cool, soothing and solid.” As for white walls, Wilkinson subscribes to the theory that the fewer there are the better. “Never say never but... beige or an all-white room is the sure sign that I had nothing to do with its conception” affirms Wilkinson, who orchestrates a symphony of color and pattern in per-
fect proportion and harmony. He favors almost anything chinoiserie or trellis pattern involving some kind of border. One of his latest design collaborations is a hand painted mural collection with Paul Montgomery inspired by exotic destinations seen in old Hollywood films. “I like wallpaper and where it’s called for, I use it liberally, the more the merrier across walls and ceilings, around moldings and furniture, inside of drawers and closets, if you’re going to wallpaper, do it all and make a statement.
Dawnridge, the legendary Beverly Hills home of designer Tony Duquette has been where Wilkinson and his wife Ruth call home since 1999 when they purchased and refurbished the extraordinary
house and gardens, continuing to use it as the headquarters for the design organization. Now comprised of four different structures, Wilkinson’s favorite spots are the big room and green room at Tony’s house or his wife’s dressing room at Casa la Condesa. Ever in favor of sharing the splendor, Dawnridge is often used for editorial photo shoots and is available to rent for private events
Recently, Wilkinson decided to join the many fleeing LA for another sunshine state, Florida, where so many of his clients and friends already spend winters. He has put the finishing touches on his new residence on storied Singer Island. Apartment overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in a style which he describes depreciatingly as “drunk and disorderly”. The aesthetic was created using a collection of mismatched hand blocked India prints with their borders cut off and later applied around moldings, baseboards and ceilings to fashion the backgrounds that embrace the rooms. Antique carpets from China, Morocco and India along with Nepalese woven animal prints lay the foundation below. The upholstered furniture is comfortable and the armchairs for the most part are antiques. To maximizing leisure time at home, Wilkinson knocked down the walls on the first floor to create a fluid living space with two alcoves nestled off the living room serving as a television room on one side and a library on the other. He purchased another apartment directly
above, connecting them with a circular staircase that spirals up to the master bedroom, boasting his and hers en-suite dressing rooms and bathrooms for himself and his wife Ruth. Originally Palm Beach Island was a very large island and at sometime early on a yacht cut through the middle of it creating two islands; Palm Beach Island, which was developed by railroad tycoon Henry Morrison Flagler and Singer Island, which was developed by Singer, sewing machine heir, Paris Singer. When Singer saw the beach on his island paradise, he wrote a letter to his girlfriend Isadora Duncan and told her, “I have found the most beautiful beach in the world, and it is on Singer Island!” “In my opinion Singer Island is the better piece of real estate,” Wilkinson says thoughtfully, “the lots are all four acres to the ocean with only one street along the inland waterway… This is where the big estates should have been built!” Instead, it’s all hirise condos and his building “Sea Dunes” which is only eight stories tall with twenty-eight owners was the first high-rise built on Singer Island in 1960.
Always one to embrace new ideas and creative challenges, Wilkinson continues to produce signature capsule collections in partnerships with some of the most highly esteemed creators in interior design such as Remains lighting, Jim Thompson, Maitland Smith, Patterson Flynn Martin and Mottahedeh. He finds inspiration through books and travel citing India, South America, Southeast Asia and China to be some of his top visual ports of call.
Circling the globe truly fuels all of Wilkinson’s diverse passions. He is the author of over a dozen books, including four best sellers, and the designer of Tony Duquette Fine Jewelry, a coveted bespoke one-of-a-kind collection seen on runways for designers such as Tom Ford, Gucci, Oscar de la Renta and Balmain as well as waking red carpets on the likes of Sharon Stone, Faye Dunaway, Liza Minnelli, Drew Barrymore and Reese Witherspoon. He likens his jewels to children. “After I send them out in the world it is always a joy to see them again. My jewelry is collected all over the world so in the rare chance I walk into a room and spy a beautiful lady wearing a treasured piece, it is like seeing my children again” he explains. Wilkinson dreams of the opportunity to work his 18K gold bijoux magic on some large and extraordinary precious stones. As for decorating, he is going into business in Palm Beach with Lee Robinson, a talented interior designer from Louisville Kentucky. Wilkinson is currently designing a house for clients in Wellington Florida as well as a duplex apartment in New York City and a house on Palm Beach Island with a grand apartment in Paris and homes in Los Angeles already on the schedule for the new year. The preeminent designer has no plans to slow down and hopes to continue to be enthusiastically open to everything the universe presents to him. “If I ever write my biography,” he pauses and smiles, “I think the title will be Once Was Enough.”
Hutton's dressing room off of the master bedroom. The bookcase holds his clothes in cabinets under the bookcase. The walls and club chairs are upholstered in hand blocked Indian cotton. The cocktail table is an antique Chinese lac burgaute chest on stan from the collection of tony duquette. The giant gorilla heads with their crowns filled with seashells and coral were a housewarming gift from one of Wilkinsons cuban admirers. The ceiling which Wilkinson refers to as the fifth wall in the room is decorated with an Indian painting from the royal art school in Udaipur and framed with silk tassells and decorative fringe from Italy.

RITZY CHRISTENSEN
Reimagining Luxury in Residential Interiors
In the realm of high-end interior design, few names carry the weight of innovation and sophistication like Ritzy Christensen. As the creative force behind Bo Casa, Christensen has built a reputation for crafting stunning, luxurious residential spaces that seamlessly merge style, comfort, and functionality. Her youthful yet refined perspective breathes fresh life into the world of interior design, making her a standout talent in the industry.
We had the privilege of sitting down with Ritzy to explore her journey, creative philosophy, and vision for the future of luxury interiors.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO SPECIALIZE IN DESIGNING LUXURIOUS RESIDENTIAL SPACES?
Ritzy’s passion for opulence and fine craftsmanship began early. “I’ve always been drawn to the elegance of luxurious spaces,” she shares. “There’s something magical about transforming a home into a sanctuary where every detail exudes grandeur and sophistication.” For Christensen, it’s not just about aesthetics but the experience of living in a space that feels exceptional every day.
THE ART OF BALANCING LUXURY AND LIVABILITY
Incorporating luxury into residential design requires a thoughtful balance between beauty and practicality. Ritzy explains, “I love using premium materials like marble, velvet, and bespoke furniture, but I always ensure the space is as functional as it is beautiful. A home must feel lived-in, not like a showroom.”
One of her most memorable projects involved transforming a dated Mediterranean-style mansion into a sleek, modern oasis. “We reimagined the space entirely, from introducing custom furniture to creating unique lighting features that highlighted the home’s architectural details. The result was a residence that felt both timeless and innovative,” she recalls.
EMERGING TRENDS IN LUXURY INTERIORS
When it comes to trends, Ritzy notes a growing emphasis on sustainability in high-end design. “Luxury is evolving. Clients are seeking eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient technology, but they still want that classic, opulent touch. It’s exciting to blend modern innovation with timeless elegance.” Additionally, personalized spaces with unique, one-of-a-kind elements are becoming increasingly popular, a trend that plays into Christensen’s strengths as a designer.
A COLLABORATIVE PROCESS
For Ritzy, the key to success lies in collaboration. “Every client has a unique vision. My job is to understand their lifestyle and preferences while weaving in my design expertise to create something that feels authentically theirs,” she says. This commitment to personalization has set Christensen apart, earning her the trust and admiration of an elite clientele.
ADDING A TOUCH OF LUXURY TO EVERYDAY LIVING
For homeowners dreaming of elevating their spaces, Ritzy advises focusing on details. “You don’t need to redesign everything at once. Start with a statement piece—a stunning chandelier, a custom headboard, or rich fabrics for your upholstery. Quality over quantity is key.” She emphasizes that even small touches, like curated art pieces or luxurious throws, can elevate a space significantly.
WHAT SETS BO CASA APART?
Ritzy’s approach to interior design is rooted in bespoke craftsmanship and exclusivity. “Every project is a reflection of the client’s personality, but I also aim to introduce elements they might not have envisioned themselves. It’s about creating a story within the space that feels both personal and aspirational.”
A CREATIVE PROCESS FUELED BY PASSION
From concept to completion, Ritzy’s design process is immersive and meticulous. She begins by understanding her clients deeply—their tastes, routines, and dreams for their space. “I believe in layering luxury. Each detail, from the texture of the walls to the finish on the cabinetry, contributes to the final masterpiece,” she explains.
THE FUTURE OF LUXURY WITH RITZY CHRISTENSEN
As she continues to innovate, Ritzy remains a designer to watch. Her dedication to timeless luxury, combined with a forward-thinking perspective, ensures her work remains at the forefront of the industry. “Luxury isn’t about trends; it’s about creating spaces that resonate with the people who live in them,” she says.
With her passion, creativity, and unparalleled expertise, Ritzy Christensen is redefining what it means to live luxuriously. Whether she’s designing a serene villa or a bustling urban penthouse, her spaces are a testament to the transformative power of great design.

Players with names like Cambiaso (yes, there are two of them ranked 1st and 2nd in the world), Pieres, Gonzalez, Nero, Ulloa, and others saddle up their strings to compete on Field One every Sunday for a cup, a title, and, of course, a champagne shower.
Over the last 5 years, a young and charismatic player has risen through the international ranks, supported by his father—a former player and now team Patron. His name is Timmy Dutta.
At just 24, Timmy has emerged as one of the sport’s brightest stars. Trained as a jumper from the age of 7, Timmy’s love of horses ran through that of his father, a former player and his mother, a decorated dressage rider. But at the age of 12, “Big Tim”, who has built a global horse transportation business, took his son out to stick and ball and the pre-teen fell in love with the sport of polo. Tim Sr. quickly recognized his son’s growing passion for polo and encouraged him to pursue it to its fullest extent.
Timmy puts it this way: “I am enamored by the art of the game of polo, the horses, and the comradery between teammates.”
By learning from some of the best players in the world, Timmy found himself competing in 20-goal tournaments at Grand Champions Polo Club and the International Polo Center by the age of 15.
“It’s a true pleasure to play at the highest level of the game. Obviously, I was nervous as a kid playing with some of the top players in our sport, but being on the same field as those players automatically makes you think better and improves you every time you play at that level.” Timmy shares.
Typically, Timmy maintains a rotation of around 14 horses. For daily workouts, he carefully selects 5-10 mounts, paying meticulous attention to their physical well-being, nutrition, and overall care.
“I am in love with horses. I am truly grateful to be able to work with horses every day. My favorite ponies are Diamante, Mr. Musty, Adam, and Toscano. They are incredible animals with hearts of gold. They truly take care of me and make me a better person and player”. Timmy explains.
Timmy credits his family for his success: “My father is very passionate about the game. I love my father and without his support, I wouldn’t be playing at this level. He only wants to see me succeed.”
In December, Timmy’s talent, good looks, and undeniable passion made him one of the central figures in the Netflix documentary “Polo”. The series chronicles the journey to the U.S. Open Polo Championship in Wellington during the 2024 season. Filming brought cameras into the Dutta family’s home, capturing their hectic yet focused lives—from the barn to the field and even around the family kitchen table.
“I hope the Netflix documentary brings new people into our sport and allows us to grow and thrive as well as brings a spotlight to our beloved horses in which we care for day in and day out”.
Polo is constantly changing year over year with new sponsors and players emerging in the high goal arena and as it becomes more popular through coverage on not only regional television but across the world on ESPN and now Netflix.
Dutta looks ahead as he hopes to continue improving and becoming the best he can be as a player and businessman, alongside his father.
The 2025 season promises to be another thrilling chapter for Team Dutta as Timmy will once again team up with some of the world’s best players as they compete for cups and championships in their continuing quest for polo greatness— one chukker at a time.

SHELL BAY
A New Era of Golf and Luxury in Miami
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MORE THAN 20 YEARS, MIAMI WELCOMES A NEW PRIVATE GOLF CLUB—AND IT’S NOTHING SHORT OF GROUNDBREAKING. SHELL BAY, A 150-ACRE ENCLAVE DEVELOPED BY THE WITKOFF GROUP AND PPG DEVELOPMENT, ISN’T JUST A CLUB; IT’S A STATEMENT. WITH ITS GREG NORMAN-DESIGNED CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE AND A COMPREHENSIVE SUITE OF LUXURY AMENITIES, SHELL BAY SETS THE STAGE FOR WHAT THE FUTURE OF GOLF CAN LOOK LIKE.
Written by Vivian Ashcroft
Anchored between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, Shell Bay is not only a golfer’s paradise but also a bold new vision for a luxury destination. “This project is a culmination of innovation and the kind of thoughtful development Miami hasn’t seen in decades,” says Alex Witkoff, co-CEO of the Witkoff Group. A second-generation developer, Witkoff grew up immersed in the world of transformative real estate projects, and Shell Bay is his latest pursuit of redefining the limits of what’s possible in luxury living.
At the heart of Shell Bay is its championship golf course, the first new private course in Miami in over two decades. It was designed by none other than Greg Norman, a World Golf Hall of Famer with 91 international tournament victories to his name, including two Open Championships. Known as "The Shark" for his bold playing style and entrepreneurial ventures, Norman has spent much of his post-golf career crafting courses that blend challenge with artistry.
“The course at Shell Bay will be one of the most unique, pure golf experiences I have ever designed,” Norman explains. His design captures the spirit of traditional golf while pushing boundaries, with sandbelt-style bunkers, contoured greens, and a layout that offers a true test of skill. Norman’s vision doesn’t end at the 7,254-yard course; the site also features a 12-acre practice facility and a Par 3 course, showcasing his commitment to innovation and excellence in the sport.
Shell Bay’s appeal lies in its details. Beyond the fairways, there’s The Bays, a practice facility offering advanced technology for precision training and an open-air kitchen that turns a post-practice meal into a refined experience. The forthcoming clubhouse will bring even more, with dining venues, a wellness spa, and elevated event spaces for members to enjoy.
The racquet club is another highlight, featuring surfaces ranging from clay to grass to hard courts, as well as facilities for pickleball and padel. This part of the development has been shaped with input from Bob Bryan, a tennis legend and one-half of the most decorated men’s doubles team in history. It’s clear Shell Bay isn’t just a golf club; it’s a hub for an active, community-driven lifestyle.
The Residences at Shell Bay are more than just homes; they’re a lifestyle statement. Featuring 108 bespoke condominiums and penthouses managed by Auberge Resorts Collection, these residences offer unparalleled access to Shell Bay’s amenities and breathtaking views of the course and waterways. Auberge, known for its impeccable hospitality, will extend its high-touch service to homeowners, providing everything from in-residence dining to personalized fitness and wellness programs.
For Alex Witkoff, Shell Bay represents an opportunity to create something enduring. “This isn’t just a development—it’s about
creating a lasting legacy,” he says.
South Florida has long been synonymous with luxury, but the demand for private golf experiences has outpaced supply for years. In a region where new development opportunities are increasingly rare, Shell Bay stands out as a forward-thinking project designed to meet the needs of a new generation.
“Golf has always been a part of the South Florida lifestyle,” says Norman, reflecting on the project’s significance. “With Shell Bay, we’ve taken it to the next level, creating an environment that’s immersive, challenging, and unforgettable.”
Shell Bay isn’t just a place to play golf—it’s a community built for those who value the finest things in life, from exceptional design to meaningful connections. For Miami, it’s a new chapter in the city’s storied relationship with luxury. For its members, it’s a sanctuary that’s destined to set a new standard for private clubs across the country.

WITH A NETWORK OF ROUTES
ACROSS THE NORTHEAST, SOUTHEAST, AND CARIBBEAN, TRADEWIND AVIATION OFFERS A BESPOKE EXPERIENCE—FROM TAKEOFF TO TOUCHDOWN. IT’S A MUST FOR LUXURIOUS JETSETTERS SEEKING A JOURNEY THAT’S AS UNFORGETTABLE AS THE DESTINATION.
Tired of TSA lines, crowded terminals, and cramped seats? With a 23-year legacy and recognition as one of the top five U.S. airlines for four consecutive years by Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards, Tradewind Aviation believes that every flight deserves to be remarkable. Offering both private and scheduled flights, the aircraft operator connects you to luxury destinations like Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and St. Barths, with new routes from its Southeast base to exclusive Bahamian locales like Marsh Harbor and North Eleuthera.
“Enjoy complimentary drinks, snacks, wine, and beer onboard every flight,” Tradewind Aviation Director of Marketing Grace Richardson says. “Champagne is provided on every private charter. All aircraft feature an air-conditioned and pressurized cabin for the ultimate comfort. We are also pet friendly; your pet gets to sit in the cabin with you!”
Start your journey with ease by reserving your seat
or submitting a charter request through www.flytradewind.com. All domestic flights depart from private jet terminals for a seamless traveler experience, and Caribbean flights offer first-class service and a private lounge in San Juan. Tradewind’s core mission? To deliver comfort, convenience, and confidence to passengers—an ethos driven by founder Eric Zipkin since the company’s humble beginnings in 2001.
“Tradewind started with one plane and Eric as the pilot,” Richardson says. “He did it all from plane washing to reservations to flight operations. Eric still flies today; you may even catch him out on the line flying passengers.”
With a fleet of over 30 Pilatus PC-12 jets and the prestigious ARGUS Gold rating—held by fewer than 20% of U.S.-certified charter operators—it’s no secret that Tradewind is dedicated to safety. The Pilatus PC-12’s ability to land on short runways provides access to airports closer to passengers’ origin and destination. Travelers can board with peace of mind, knowing their safety and convenience are prioritized every step of the way.
Richardson recalls one distinct guest experience, a true testament to Tradewind’s unparalleled service, involving a couple traveling to St. Barths. The pair were delayed on
a commercial flight into San Juan and booked on one of Tradewind’s last two flights to the island. The Tradewind team consolidated other passengers onto one flight, ensuring the schedule remained unaffected, while delaying the second flight by 30 minutes to accommodate the couple.
This gave the couple time to land and refresh in the lounge while Tradewind expedited their luggage for the final leg of their journey.
“While this is something we cannot do every late commercial flight, we strive to make things work whenever possible to provide a seamless experience for our guests,” Richardson says. “As our mission statement says, ‘It is flying personal.’ And it is what we strive for every day.”

HOME ON … THE RANCH
AT ROCK CREEK
Written by Dorian May
Tate Dutton:
“Well, if ranching is so hard, why do we do it?”
John Dutton:
“Because it's one hell of a life, Tate.
One hell of a life.”
If you want to channel your inner “Yellowstone,” The Ranch at Rock Creek is the perfect spot to hang your hat and immerse yourself in a luxurious version of the Western lifestyle. The only 5-star hotel in Montana, the Relais and Chateaux property is set on 6,600 acres of Big Sky Country. As soon as you pass through the tall timber arch marking the entry of The Ranch at Rock Creek, you get a sense that your luxurious adventure has begun. Choose from twenty-nine unique rustic yet elegant accommodations in four styles: lodge room, upscale canvas cabin, historic barn, and luxury home, all lovingly designed with a sophisticated blend of classic Americana and Western aesthetics.
I stayed in “Bull”, a Creekside cabin, which is so chic and thoughtfully designed that I was shocked to learn it was canvas! It truly was “glamping” at its finest. One of my favorite features was the electric hearth, which heats the room and casts a cozy glow, acting as a nightlight. The sound of the water running outside is cathartic and invigorating, immediately reducing your heart rate down and coaxing you into an effortless sleep in the dreamy four-poster bed.
Vistas across the river and over one of the ponds reflect the primary-colored autumn leaves on the incredible specimen trees with verdant mountains dotting the backdrop. Adirondack chairs in front of each residence invite you to gaze into nature or read. All guests are given bicycles, the preferred method of transport between the myriad of activities there are to choose from. Pedaling across the property alongside the burbling river, shaded by towering trees and encircled with sapphire mountains, you can easily lose track of time but won’t want to miss what’s up next.
Luckily, The Ranch provides a detailed schedule for your customized experience. This may include fly fishing, horseback riding, sporting clays, riflery, and fencing all year long, as well as many other seasonal activities for summer and winter. In the summer months, guests enjoy a weekly rodeo, breakfast ride and barn dance. Come winter, The Ranch becomes a snowy wonderland with adventures including cross-country
skiing, ice skating, sledding, snowcat tours, sleigh rides, snow and snowmobiling just outside the door. Alpine skiers and snowboarders can join The Ranch's Ski Concierge to enjoy the nearby Discover Ski Area. Expert team members instruct and help make each endeavor loads of fun. The property's one and one resident sheep, Louise may appear at any time hoping for some affection and to join your fun.
The riding program is robust all through the year, with over 75 horses on the property varying in breed, color and size. So that you truly feel that you are at home, there are boots, helmets and any other gear you should require available. The herd is mostly comprised of quarter and paint horses, with a lovely group of draft crosses and draft team horses as well. One of the most beautiful experiences comes at the end of the day when the horses are let out to pasture, as you watch them roam free, you truly feel you have crossed to the other side and living in the Wild West.
If it is respite you require, The Ranch at Rock Creek is fully equipped to support your self-care journey. It is an ideal setting to explore the terrain on a horse, on foot, or on your bicycle. Climb to the foothills of the surrounding Sapphire Mountains to peer across endless expanses of land or meander alongside the Blue-Ribbon Rock Creek and meditate surrounded by the therapeutic benefits of nature.
The spa is fully loaded with a range of sustainable products that reflect their commitment to the environment. Detox in the sauna or submerge in the tub for Medicinal Springs Mineral Therapy treatments using the same minerals that fill Montana’s geothermal springs. Combat the drying effects of travel and elevated climate with a hydration body wrap or take your massage in Mother Nature, creekside in one of the covered Conestoga wagons--no spa music needed, the running river outside serves as your serene soundtrack.
If all the outdoor living leaves you hungry, you are in good hands with the kitchen here. The food is top-notch and caters to the health-conscious and the hedonist alike. Early risers can start at the breakfast buffet in the Lodge’s reception, enjoy coffee next to a crackling fire with an offering of irresistible baked goods always a special selection for the vegan and gluten-free. Breakfast choices include the most delectable lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes, chia seed pudding and eggs any way you desire. The bacon is cooked to a crisp melt-in-your-mouth perfection and is simply unrivaled. Dinners are various themes each night of the week and paired with suggested wines from the extensive collection. The most memorable ranch cuisine for me was the elevated Northwestern BBQ night serving locally raised Montana brisket, BBQ chicken and ribs with out-of-this-world sides, including white cheddar grits, collard greens, cornbread and unforgettable grilled sweet potatoes in a chilli vinaigrette.
Sink into one of the well-worn leather sofas for post-dinner drinks or head to The Silver Dollar Saloon for some evening entertainment. For some friendly competition, there is a bowling alley in house. Karaoke and an array of musical performances are also popular pursuits. Leanne Rimes, who calls The Ranch at Rock Creek “home away from home” recently performed for lucky guests.
Families, couples and friends will discover that The Ranch at Rock Creek, which began in the 1800s as a silver mining ranch is a special place that offers a real slice of Western lifestyle without sacrificing true comfort.
WEEKEND ESCAPE at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort
Written by Colleen Guilfoile Richmond
Nestled directly on the sand in Fort Lauderdale, the Pelican Grand Beach Resort is a rare gem—one of the only resorts in the area that sits right on the beach, with no busy road separating you from the ocean. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of timeless charm and relaxation, with the soothing rhythm of the waves setting the tone for the entire stay.
The resort’s welcoming atmosphere began with its iconic veranda lined with white rocking chairs, where guests can sip coffee in the morning or watch the sunset in the evening. Stepping inside, the lobby exuded Old Florida elegance with its coastal-inspired decor, high ceilings, and a friendly staff ready to assist.
My oceanfront suite continued this theme with its bright and airy design, plush bedding, and a private balcony that quickly became my favorite spot. Watching the sunrise over the Atlantic from the comfort of my balcony was the perfect way to start the day.
One of the highlights of the Pelican Grand is its variety of amenities, designed to make your stay as relaxing or active as you desire. The resort boasts a zero-entry oceanfront pool, which is ideal for families, and a lazy river where I found myself floating blissfully in the Florida sun. For those who love the beach, the resort’s private stretch of sand offers comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas, making it easy to spend hours enjoying the ocean breeze.
Dining at OCEAN2000, the resort’s signature restaurant, was another standout experience. The evening began with warm house-made bread and a flavorful lobster and sweet corn chowder that was both hearty and comforting. For the main course, I indulged in the seafood risotto—a dish brimming with fresh, local seafood, perfectly cooked Arborio rice, and a delicate blend of herbs. The outdoor terrace provided a stunning backdrop, with the ocean breeze and
the sound of the waves creating an unforgettable ambiance. For some much-needed self-care, I made my way to PURE Spa, perched on the rooftop with breathtaking views of the ocean. The spa focuses on wellness and tranquility, and I chose a deeply relaxing massage that melted away all my stress. The gentle sounds of the waves and the serene atmosphere elevated the experience, leaving me refreshed and renewed.
Between the luxurious amenities, attentive service, and the charm of its beachfront location, the Pelican Grand Beach Resort provided a weekend escape that felt both indulgent and restorative. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, floating down the lazy river, or enjoying a gourmet meal with a view, every moment at this resort feels thoughtfully curated.
It’s where Old Florida charm meets modern luxury, where the ocean is always within reach, and where time seems to slow down. I left feeling completely rejuvenated.
VINTAGE VESSELS
Where Timeless Elegance Meets Modern Swagger
Written by Colleen Guilfoile Richmond
Boats aren't just about getting from A to B; they’re about making an entrance, living the dream, and maybe even pretending you're in a Bond movie. And while modern yachts may boast all the bells and whistles, nothing turns heads like the iconic curves, polished wood, and sheer charisma of vintage-inspired boats. Hacker-Craft, J Craft, and Invictus, three brands rewriting the rules of classic cool.
You’re cruising a pristine lake, the late afternoon sun dancing off a hull so shiny it could double as a mirror.
That's the Hacker-Craft Aquavant, a mahogany masterpiece that looks like it time-traveled straight from the 1940s—but with a 21st-century twist.
This beauty is fully electric! That’s right, no roaring engine to drown out your playlist or scare off the swans. With a zippy top speed of 27 knots and a range of 30 miles, it’s the Greta Thunberg of classic boats—elegantly saving the planet one charge at a time. Need a refill? Plug it in, grab a coffee, and you're good to go in about an hour.
But the real showstopper? Those iconic Hacker-Craft lines. It’s like Audrey Hepburn on water: graceful, stylish, and completely unforgettable. Whether you’re cruising at sunset or pulling up to a dockside soiree, the Aquavant announces your arrival without saying a word.
James Bond called. He wants his boat back. The J Craft Torpedo is what happens when Swedish craftsmanship meets unapologetic glamour. A Boat Fit for a King (literally). Each one of these floating fantasies takes over 8,000 hours to build, meaning your boat builder probably knows it better than their own spouse. The result? A hand-finished marvel that’s equal parts style icon and performance beast.
Don’t just take my word for it—ask the King of Sweden, who’s a big fan, or Hollywood heartthrobs like Jude Law and Roger Moore. The Torpedo isn’t just a boat; it’s a lifestyle. Whether you're zipping across the waves as a chase boat or hosting an impromptu aperitivo at sunset, the Torpedo’s got you covered.
And let’s not forget the design: retro curves paired with state-of-the-art tech make it the perfect mix of yesterday’s
elegance and today’s convenience. Think of it as a classic cocktail—timeless, smooth, and guaranteed to impress.
When it comes to design, Italians do it better. And the Invictus GT280 is proof. With its striking silhouette, stretched lines, and unapologetic boldness, this yacht redefines what it means to turn heads on the water.
But it’s not just a pretty face. Whether you're lounging in the sun or cruising with style, the GT280 delivers a seamless mix of luxury and functionality. Its spacious deck is perfect for parties, lazy afternoons, or—you know—making your neighbors jealous.
Invictus has managed to bottle that quintessential Italian flair: passion, elegance, and a touch of drama. It’s the Vespa of the sea, but way cooler. And while it may channel old-school sophistication, rest assured—it’s packed with enough modern tech to keep even the pickiest gadget-lover happy.
Classic boats aren’t just boats. They’re floating statements, mood setters, and conversation starters. They’re for the dreamers, the romantics, and the rebels who refuse to settle for anything less than extraordinary.
These vessels combine the best of both worlds—handcrafted beauty that nods to a bygone era and state-of-the-art technology that ensures they perform as flawlessly as they look. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or just someone who appreciates the finer things in life, stepping aboard one of these vintage-inspired masterpieces is like stepping into a different world.
So next time you're at the marina, keep an eye out for a gleaming mahogany Hacker-Craft, the Scandinavian cool of a J Craft, or the show-stopping elegance of an Invictus. Just be warned—once you see one, your current boat may never feel the same again.
Because let’s face it: Some boats are practical. These boats? They’re pure poetry.
A CONTEMPORARY WORK OF ART

HOLD ONTO YOUR SUNHATS—A NEW YACHT IS IN TOWN, AND IT’S ABOUT TO REDEFINE WHAT IT MEANS TO SAIL IN STYLE. MEET THE LANCIA APREA, AN ITALIAN STUNNER THAT HAS JUST DOCKED ON OUR SHORES, BRINGING WITH IT A SPLASH OF MEDITERRANEAN GLAMOUR AND A HEARTY DOSE OF LA DOLCE VITA. THIS ISN’T JUST A YACHT; IT’S A PASSPORT TO A BYGONE ERA OF CINEMATIC ELEGANCE, FUSED SEAMLESSLY WITH CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY. THINK JAMES BOND MEETS ELON MUSK—ON WATER.
If yachts could tell stories, the Lancia Aprea would weave tales of vintage Hollywood, starlets basking on sun-drenched decks, and moonlit parties along the Amalfi Coast.
Inspired by the legendary Lancia Sorrentina, a 1950s icon adored by Europe’s glitterati, the Lancia Aprea takes those nostalgic vibes and turbocharges them with 21st-century flair. It’s like taking your grandmother’s pearls and pairing them with a sleek, custom-tailored suit—timeless, yet totally fresh.
This beauty isn’t just about good looks (though let’s admit, she’s got those in spades). Every detail is steeped in history, from her gracefully arched hull—crafted by Italy’s Victory Design Studio—to the sumptuous, Mediterranean-inspired interiors. But don’t let the classic lines fool you; the Lancia Aprea has the brains to match her beauty. Equipped with your choice of four Mercury Verado V12 engines or the efficiency-forward Volvo Penta IPS800 pods, this yacht doesn’t just glide—it flies. Smooth, stable, and whisper-quiet, it’s like riding a Bentley across the waves.
Step aboard, and you’re enveloped in a cocoon of luxury that’s as unique as your fingerprint. Renowned architect Stefano Faggioni has created an interior that feels less like a boat and more like a floating villa. With finishes from Loro Piana Interiors, handcrafted woodwork, and a dazzling array of 11 customizable color palettes, the Lancia Aprea is more than a yacht—it’s an extension of your personal style. Want Corian countertops in your galley? Done. Dreaming of lacquered panels in seafoam green? Say no more.
At the helm of this nautical revolution is the Lancia 52, the crown jewel in a collection of yachts ranging from a nimble 32-footer to a
palatial 72-footer. Whether you’re a speed enthusiast who craves the thrill of roaring across open water or a laid-back cruiser soaking up sunsets, the Lancia 52 has you covered. It’s fast, it’s versatile, and, most importantly, it’s unapologetically fabulous.
The Lancia Aprea isn’t just a yacht; it’s a statement. It tells the world you appreciate the finer things—not just luxury, but legacy. It’s for those who know that true indulgence isn’t about owning the biggest or the flashiest toy—it’s about craftsmanship, artistry, and the stories that come with them. Every rivet, every curve, every stitch of this yacht carries the spirit of Italian shipbuilders who’ve been perfecting their craft since 1890.
With the Lancia Aprea, every journey becomes an adventure. Whether you’re navigating the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean or cruising the rugged coastline of Maine, this yacht isn’t just your ride— it’s your companion, your sanctuary, and your stage for unforgettable memories.
So, what are you waiting for? The sea is calling, and the Lancia Aprea is ready to answer. Bellissima, indeed. www.lanciaapreausa.com
FROM LUXURY TO LEGACY
Danny Bayard’s Journey Through Automobiles, Ancestry, and Haitian History
Supple leather, richly grained woods, and polished chrome are staples in Danny Bayard’s world. As the Chief Marketing Officer for Braman Motors in Palm Beach, he is surrounded by performance machines from Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Porsche. Customers know Danny as an affable figure—welldressed, polished, and always looking for ways to make his clients feel appreciated.
But beyond the glitz of luxury automobiles lies a talent many don’t realize: Danny is a prolific writer, researcher, and multi-published award winning author whose passion for storytelling extends far beyond marketing campaigns.
At the heart of his work is a profound connection to his roots. Since returning to his birthplace of Haiti at age 18, Bayard has been on a relentless quest to uncover and document the intricate stories of his family’s history, dating back to 1710. This fascination with Haiti’s culture and people has inspired him to publish a series of books that blend personal heritage with the nation’s complex and often tumultuous history.
His latest work, Triumph to Tragedy: The Clash of Pétion & Christophe, is the fourth in a chronological series detailing the French colony of Saint-Domingue (modern-day Haiti) and the challenges the nation has faced over centuries.
Drawing from thousands of hours of research, interviews with historians and archivists, and extensive travel, Bayard masterfully weaves together the historical and personal. His future books will delve into into the burdens Haiti endured, from crushing debt imposed by France as war reparations in 1825 to embargoes by foreign powers, political interference driven by bribery, and even the seizure of Haiti’s gold reserves by the U.S. Marines in 1914.
Through the lives of his own ancestors, Bayard paints a vivid picture of resilience and struggle, tracing their journey through these turbulent times. His storytelling not only preserves the history of his family but also sheds light on the broader narrative of a nation striving for autonomy and identity amidst extraordinary adversity.
Bayard’s work doesn’t stop with adult audiences. Passionate about instilling a sense of pride and awareness in future generations, he has started adapting these stories for children, ensuring that Haiti’s heritage is accessible and inspiring to young minds.
From the sleek showrooms of luxury cars to the archives of Haitian history, Danny Bayard proves that his talents are as multifaceted as his passions. Whether captivating a client or a reader, his dedication to excellence remains the same.

PLACE OF HOPE: 25 YEARS OF TRANSFORMING LIVES AND FIGHTING TRAFFICKING
This year marks a milestone for Place of Hope, South Florida’s largest and most dynamic child welfare organization, as it celebrates 25 years of bringing hope, safety, and transformation to vulnerable children and families. Under the visionary leadership of Founding CEO Charles L. Bender I, what began as a heartfelt mission in 1999 has grown into a powerhouse of change, touching over 40,000 lives with programs that span foster care, adoption, transitional housing, and human trafficking prevention.
“Our mission is to honor God by responding to our community’s needs and giving vulnerable children and families a safe, loving place to call home,” reflects Bender. The organization has lived this mission by pioneering life-changing initiatives, including the Villages of Hope, an affordable transitional independent living program for aged-out foster youth, single mothers facing homelessness, and human trafficking survivors. Since 2018, their Human Trafficking Prevention and Awareness Program has been a beacon of support for survivors.
This December, Place of Hope held the 2nd Annual Light in the Shadows Anti-Human Trafficking Luncheon at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach. With over 700 attendees who gathered to break the cycle of exploitation, the event was a testament to the community's dedication to eradicating trafficking and creating brighter futures.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody delivered a powerful keynote speech highlighting her efforts to combat trafficking in Florida, where the state ranks third in reported trafficking cases. She emphasizes that human trafficking remains a dark shadow over our
communities, but we can prevent more lives from being stolen by raising awareness and acting. Moody also acknowledges Place of Hope’s vital role in providing safe spaces and essential resources for survivors.
For Bender, the luncheon was more than just a celebration—it was a call to action. “The Light in the Shadows Luncheon is more than a fundraiser; it’s a rallying point for us to recognize the strength of survivors and the power of a united community,” he emphasized. “We make the community aware of the depths of this crisis and what they can do every day to combat it.” Place of Hope educates that human trafficking is more than people being smuggled across borders and can stem from internet crimes against children and teens and sextortion.
Over its 25-year history, Place of Hope has raised millions of dollars to fuel its mission, growing its impact year by year. Looking to the future, Place of Hope’s growth shows no signs of slowing. Their revitalized Shade Tree Outreach Program is expanding its reach. With services ranging from family intervention to child abuse prevention, the program addresses the community’s most pressing needs head-on.
