DINING AMONG THE STARS: A Culinary Journey to the Stratosphere
In the realm of luxury dining experiences, Alchemist’s Chef Rasmus Munk is known for pushing boundaries. From his Copenhagen-based restaurant, which boasts two Michelin stars and a perennial top-five spot on the World’s 50 Best list, Munk has consistently amazed diners with his innovative creations. Now, he’s taking his culinary expertise to new heights—literally. Teaming up with luxury space travel companies SpaceVIP and Space Perspective, Munk is set to host what can only be described as the world’s most exclusive dining experience: a meal served aboard a space balloon in the stratosphere. This isn’t just dinner; it’s a journey beyond the bounds of Earth’s atmosphere, a once-in-alifetime opportunity to dine among the stars.
Space Perspective’s Spaceship Neptune, designed for luxury space tourism, will serve as the venue for this extraordinary dining experience. With seating for just six guests, each accompanied by a made-tomeasure space suit courtesy of Ogier, the exclusivity of the event is unparalleled. And with a price tag of $495,000 per person, it’s certainly not for the faint of heart—or wallet.
exploration over the past 60 years.
“I want to highlight food as a common thread in our human existence,” Munk explains, “and it will be truly meaningful to serve it while gazing down at the Earth’s curvature.” For Munk, who has been fascinated by space since childhood, this dining experience is the culmination of a lifelong dream.
But this isn’t just about indulging in gourmet cuisine; it’s also about giving back. Proceeds from the Spaceship Neptune trip will be donated to the Space Prize, an organization dedicated to promoting gender equality in science and technology, including space travel. It’s a fitting tribute to an experience that is as groundbreaking as it is luxurious.
But for those lucky enough to secure a seat at the table, the experience promises to be nothing short of magical. As the capsule ascends at a leisurely 12 mph to an altitude of about 100,000 feet, diners will be treated to breathtaking views of the Florida peninsula and the curvature of the Earth. And as the sun rises over the horizon, Chef Munk will unveil a series of dishes inspired by space
As the countdown to launch begins, anticipation is building among foodies and space enthusiasts alike. With test flights set to commence later this year and commercial flights scheduled for 2025, the future of luxury space tourism looks brighter than ever. And for those lucky few who will have the opportunity to dine among the stars, it promises to be an experience they’ll never forget.
So forget dinner reservations at your favorite Michelin-starred restaurant—this is dining at a whole new level. Get ready to embark on a culinary journey to the stratosphere, where the only limit is your imagination.
SAILING INTO UNCHARTED LUXURY
Four Seasons Yachts Set to Redefine Seafaring Opulence
In a bold move to reshape the landscape of luxury travel, Four Seasons is embarking on a new chapter with the introduction of Four Seasons Yachts. As a strategic pillar for future growth and brand distinctiveness, this visionary project aims to deliver immersive luxury experiences at sea and on land.
Alejandro Reynal, the President and CEO of Four Seasons sees Four Seasons Yachts as a cornerstone of their strategic vision. He states, “The inaugural Yacht is a manifestation of this vision, offering a world-class Four Seasons experience, at sea and on land, marked by the genuine, personalized service that our guests know and love.”
Scheduled to set sail in late 2025, the inaugural vessel signifies the debut of the Four Seasons Yachts fleet. The success is evident, with a signed contract for a second vessel with Fincantieri, worth over EUR 400 million and set to be delivered in late November 2026. Larry Pimentel, President and CEO of Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings Ltd., and Joint Owner and Operator of Four Seasons Yachts, reflects on the tremendous response to the project, saying, “When we launched Four Seasons Yachts in Monaco this time last year, we were humbled by the tremendous response and excitement about the offering.”
What truly distinguishes the first Four Seasons Yacht is its commitment to ultra-luxe design innovations. The vessel features 95 suites with custom designs, aiming to erase the boundaries between guests and their surroundings. Each suite boasts extensive terrace decks, ranging from 100 square feet for the deluxe suite to nearly 5,000 square feet for the Funnel Suite – the Yacht’s most expansive accommodation.
The Funnel Suite, a marvel of design, spans four levels and offers over 9,500 square feet of combined indoor/outdoor living space. With floor-to-ceiling wraparound curved glass windows costing USD 4.5
million, this engineering masterpiece provides stunning 280-degree panoramic views – a true spectacle at sea.
Breaking away from convention, Four Seasons Yachts introduces a bespoke onboard transverse marina, granting guests easy access to exclusive water sports adventures in traditionally private yacht ports. The cutting-edge marina design features expansive openings across the vessel, offering large platforms and tiered lounging decks on both sides to maximize light and sea views. It’s a visual and physical connection to the magnificence of the sea.
With an overwhelming demand for the inaugural voyages, only priority access is granted by invitation. Loyal Four Seasons guests and valued travel partners are given preference, acknowledging their commitment to the brand. A dedicated private client service division equipped with high-touch and high-tech tools ensures personalized service for those interested in this exclusive yachting experience.
The 2025/26 inaugural season promises extraordinary yachting itineraries in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Voyages range from seven days to back-to-back journeys of 21 days, covering 33 countries, 137 unique destinations, and 76 late-night evenings and/or overnights. The yacht will explore iconic locales from the French Riviera to the Greek Isles.
In a groundbreaking move, Four Seasons has appointed Damien O’Connor, a veteran cruise executive, to manage the vessel’s hotel operations and land excursions. With collaborations between Four Seasons, Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings, Fincantieri, Prosper Assouline, and Tillberg Design of Sweden, the luxury yachting experience is set to reach unprecedented heights. The journey promises to be a symphony of opulence, seamlessly blending Four Seasons’ renowned service with the thrill of high-seas exploration.

TIMELESS Elegance MEETS MODERN Mastery
THE ARES WAMI LALIQUE SPYDER CHRONICLES A RESURGENCE OF 1950S AND 60S GLAMOUR
Images provided by LALIQUE
In the enthralling fusion of classic charm and avant-garde craftsmanship, behold the Ares Wami Lalique Spyder—an automotive masterpiece that transcends the ordinary, morphing into a captivating mobile work of art. Born from the ingenious collaboration between Ares Modena and the illustrious French luxury crystal artisan Lalique, this spectacular vehicle is a symphony of design envisioned by the visionary minds of Waleed Al Ghafari, Executive Chairman of Ares, and Silvio Denz, Chairman and CEO of Lalique.
Transporting us back to the enchanting era of La Dolce Vita, the Ares Wami Lalique Spyder pays homage to the iconic roadsters of the 1950s and 60s with its handcrafted carbon fiber body adorned with 13 bespoke Lalique crystal elements. A visual ode to timeless elegance, the car's aesthetic mirrors the carefree spirit of a bygone era, drawing inspiration from classics like the Maserati A6GCS Frua and the Ferrari 250 GT California.
A total of 13 handmade Lalique crystals adorn the car.
Beneath its captivating exterior, the Ares Wami Lalique Spyder boasts modern engineering prowess. Fueled by a 3.0-liter naturally aspirated straight-six engine, it promises an exhilarating yet smooth driving experience. The lightweight yet durable carbon fiber bodywork ensures unparalleled performance, reminiscent of the golden age of roadsters. With only 12 cars produced, each available in one of four striking colors, this bespoke creation is rare and the epitome of exclusivity.
“Thanks to the perfect marriage between Lalique’s bespoke crystal design and Ares’s high level of excellence in car design and technology, the result of this collaboration is the ultimate luxury accessory,” says Lalique’s chairman and CEO Silvio Denz.
Stepping into the luxurious haven of the interior, one is enveloped in a rich tapestry of English oak and fine Italian leather—a perfect complement to the 13 handcrafted Lalique crystal elements that adorn every inch. The iconic motifs, including the Masque de Femme and Coutard, are seamlessly woven into the car's design, offering a sensory experience that transcends mere transportation. The cockpit, a blend of simplicity and sophistication, amplifies the joy of opentop driving.
Lalique breathes life into the Spyder with a touch of its storied past, while Ares Modena's expertise propels this collaboration into the future. For collectors and automotive enthusiasts alike, the Ares Wami Lalique Spyder stands as a tribute to the past and a testament to the art of luxury car making. In this exceptional creation, history gracefully dances with the future, yielding an automotive masterpiece that captures the essence of beauty on wheels.

Unveiling the Wellness Wonders
Embracing the Heat for a Healthier You
Step into the inviting warmth of a sauna, where temperatures soar between 150 and 195 degrees Fahrenheit (65 to 90 degrees Celsius), and embark on a journey to discover a multitude of health benefits.
Originating from the age-old traditions of Finland and Russia, this therapeutic practice has transcended borders, offering remarkable advantages to people worldwide. Recent scientific inquiries have unveiled a treasure trove of benefits associated with regular sauna use, turning this age-old practice into a modern health phenomenon. Let's dive into the enticing world of saunas and explore the scientific wonders that lie within.
DETOXIFICATION BLISS AND RADIANT SKIN
In the serene heat of a sauna, your body undergoes a profound detoxification process. Sweating becomes a powerful mechanism for expelling toxins, a phenomenon substantiated by a study published in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health in 2011. Researchers Stephen J Genius, Sanjay Beesoon, and Detlef Birkholz found that infrared sauna sessions effectively removed various toxins, including heavy metals, through sweat.
As your body perspires, pores gracefully open, releasing impurities and paving the way for healthier skin. Sauna enthusiasts can revel in improved skin elasticity, texture, and tone. The increased blood flow to the skin stimulates collagen production, contributing to a vibrant and youthful appearance.
HEARTWARMING BENEFITS FOR CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH
Sauna aficionados can take heart in the news that regular sauna use significantly contributes to cardiovascular health. A groundbreaking study by Laukkanen et al., featured in JAMA Internal Medicine in 2015, revealed a striking correlation between frequent sauna usage and a reduced risk of fatal cardiovascular events. Over a span of 20.7 years, the study followed more than 2,000 Finnish men, indicating a nearly 50% lower risk of cardiovascular-related death for those who used the sauna four to seven times a week.
In another enlightening study published in the American Journal of Hypertension in 2017, Zaccardi et al. found that regular sauna sessions led to a notable reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure. This holistic approach to cardiovascular well-being is undoubtedly a heartwarming revelation.
HEAT-INFUSED TRIUMPHS FOR ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE AND RECOVERY
For fitness enthusiasts and athletes alike, the sauna unveils its prowess in enhancing performance and expediting recovery. Exposure to elevated temperatures induces heat stress, a phenomenon explored by Jay et al. in a study published in the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport (2017). Heat acclimation was found to enhance endurance and overall exercise performance, presenting a compelling case for incorporating sauna sessions into fitness routines.
Beyond performance enhancement, saunas facilitate post-exercise recovery by promoting increased blood flow and delivering vital oxygen and nutrients to muscles while flushing out waste products. This dynamic process expedites recovery, alleviating muscle soreness and enabling athletes to swiftly return to their training regimens.
SOOTHING THE SOUL: PAIN RELIEF AND STRESS REDUCTION
Saunas emerge as therapeutic havens for pain relief and stress reduction. The sauna's radiant heat triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain-relieving compounds. This effect extends its soothing touch to conditions like arthritis and chronic pain, providing respite.
The tranquil ambiance of a sauna creates a serene escape, offering a haven for reduced stress and anxiety. Scientifically substantiated by a study conducted by Laukkanen et al. and published in Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice (2018), regular sauna use is associated with decreased stress and an overall improvement in mental well-being.
IMMUNE BOOST: FORTIFYING THE BODY'S DEFENSES
In a surprising twist, sauna use emerges as a secret weapon in fortifying the immune system. As the body's core temperature rises, mimicking a fever, the immune system springs into action. This heat-induced process stimulates the production of white blood cells, crucial defenders against viruses and bacteria.
The research by Sutkowy et al., featured in the Journal of Human Kinetics in 2018, underscores that regular sauna use correlates with a higher count of white blood cells, lymphocytes, and monocytes. These findings suggest that saunas play a vital role in strengthening the immune system, offering a compelling reason to embrace this practice for overall well-being.
In conclusion, saunas weave a captivating tapestry of health benefits, ranging from detoxification and radiant skin to cardiovascular health, athletic prowess, and immune system fortification. With a growing body of scientific literature supporting these claims, sauna use emerges not just as a time-honored tradition but as an invaluable component of a holistic health regimen. So, step into the warmth, embrace the heat, and let the sauna unveil its wonders for a healthier, more vibrant you.

UNVEILING THE RADIANT REVOLUTION: Redefining Wellness with Red Light Therapy
In a world where innovation constantly pushes the boundaries of what's possible, one groundbreaking technology stands out for its ability to illuminate the path to better health and vitality. Enter Red Light Therapy (RLT), a captivating treatment that has gained the attention of wellness enthusiasts and health professionals alike. But what exactly is this luminous wonder, and why is it causing such a stir?
Bathing your body in a soothing glow of red or near-infrared light ignites a cascade of cellular rejuvenation from within. It's not magic—it's science. Red light therapy operates on the principle of photobiomodulation, where specific wavelengths of light penetrate the skin, sparking a symphony of biochemical reactions within our cells.
At the heart of this radiant revolution lies the mitochondria, the cellular powerhouses responsible for producing energy in our bodies. When exposed to red or near-infrared light, these mighty mitochondria kick into high gear, churning out adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the fuel that drives our cellular functions. But that's not all—red light therapy also triggers the release of nitric oxide, opening up the floodgates of improved blood flow and oxygenation.
The benefits of red light therapy are as diverse as they are extraordinary:
• RADIANT REJUVENATION: Bid farewell to lackluster skin and embrace a luminous glow as red light therapy works its magic to stimulate collagen production, banish wrinkles, and restore youthful vitality to your complexion.
• PAIN-FREE LIVING: Say goodbye to the shackles of chronic pain as red light therapy swoops in to ease discomfort, reduce inflammation, and pave the way for a life of newfound freedom and mobility.
• MUSCLE MASTERY: Whether you're a weekend warrior or a seasoned athlete, red light therapy is your secret weapon for turbocharging muscle recovery, enhancing performance, and keeping you at the top of your game.
• WOUND WONDER: From minor scrapes to stubborn wounds, red light therapy accelerates the healing process, minimizing scarring and restoring skin to its pristine state.
• MOOD MAGIC: Elevate your spirits and brighten your outlook with the mood-boosting effects of red light therapy, as it taps into the brain's neurotransmitters to chase away the shadows of depression and anxiety.
In a world where wellness is the ultimate luxury, red light therapy shines bright as a radiant reminder that the path to health and vitality lies within reach, illuminated by the captivating power of light.

HOLISTIC HEALING
The Uss Wellness Approach to Personalized, Holistic Care
At
Uss Wellness, Dr. Brian J. Uss integrates functional medicine and physical therapy to provide personalized care, guiding patients toward optimal well-being.
Through advanced diagnostic tools and tailored wellness programs, Uss Wellness empowers individuals to embrace holistic healing.
Written by Madison Bailey
If you’re not focusing on your health in the present, you will eventually be focusing on your sickness in the future," says Dr. Caroline Mazza as we discuss the importance of prioritizing one's well-being. Nestled in Southport, Connecticut, Uss Wellness understands that beginning your journey toward holistic well-being can feel like venturing through a maze of healthcare choices. In an era where chronic diseases are increasingly prevalent, the need for innovative, preemptive, and customized medical approaches has never been more evident.
Uss Wellness takes that approach. Their team embodies the fusion of functional medicine principles with the expertise of
physical therapy. There, Uss Wellness is able to craft a bespoke roadmap for those seeking transformative healthcare solutions for those who often "fall between the gaps" of conventional medicine. Bridging in over two decades of seasoned experience, Dr. Uss specializes in unraveling the complex factors influencing illness, thereby laying the groundwork for personalized treatment strategies tailored to each individual's unique needs.
"We attract individuals struggling with fatigue, weight issues, hormone imbalances, gut problems, mental health issues, and more," Dr. Uss affirms. "We delve into the intricate connections between physical and mental well-being, recognizing the brain as a vital indicator of overall health."
BACKGROUND
Dr. Brian J. Uss has dedicated over two decades to providing naturopathic care, driven by a passion to impact his patients' lives profoundly. Starting his career as a physical therapist, he recognized the limitations of traditional healthcare in addressing the root causes of illness. "I started my career as a physical therapist, but I wanted to be able to do more for my patients. I was drawn to naturopathy because of its focus on whole-patient wellness and addressing the underlying cause of the patient’s condition," he says.
Today, as a doctor of naturopathic medicine specializing in functional medicine, he emphasizes personalized treatment plans that target the root cause of disease rather than merely alleviating symptoms. With extensive experience treating various mental health issues, Dr. Uss has witnessed firsthand the remarkable improvements that can occur with proper brain support.
FROM BRAIN TO BODY
Central to Uss Wellness's methodology is the comprehensive evaluation process. Through a blend of advanced techniques and diagnostic tools, including brain scans and physical assessments, Dr. Uss and his team gain insights into the intricate connections between brain function and bodily health. They utilize cutting-edge technology like WAVi Brain Analysis, which provides detailed measures of brain power, reaction time, and more, offering invaluable insights into cognitive performance and overall well-being.
Dr. Mazza elaborates on their approach: "Especially coming out of COVID where everyone seems to be dealing with some sort of issue, whether it's anxiety or depression or autoimmune issues, what I'm able to do is an evaluation, finding where there is an imbalance in the body. I look at the brain and
assess: Is there an imbalance between the left and right side of the brain? How is their issue specifically showing up in their body?"
Dr. Uss continues, "Our approach is akin to treating the brain as the canary in the coal mine. When the brain begins to falter due to factors like poor nutrition, inadequate sleep, or lack of exercise, it serves as an early warning sign. Through cutting-edge technology like quantitative EEG, we pinpoint areas of brain dysfunction, often revealing issues that traditional medical tests overlook."
LAB-BASED WELLNESS PROGRAMS
Lab-based wellness programs at Uss Wellness offer personalized and detailed support over three months to a year, guiding patients toward optimal health. "By addressing root causes and removing obstacles to health, such as infections and toxins, we pave the way for preventative and transformative care, ensuring optimal well-being from the inside out," Dr. Uss affirms. Beginning with a personalized and extremely detailed questionnaire, followed by an in-person consultation to address specific concerns, these programs delve into different biochemical pathways to identify areas of imbalance.
The practice integrates advanced techniques such as functional neurology, manual therapy, and electric muscle stimulation to enhance healing and promote functional restoration. Dr. Uss explains, "Our lab-based wellness programs, personalized to each individual, aim to restore vitality and energy, empowering individuals to embrace healthy lifestyle choices tailored to their unique needs."
EMPOWERING LIFESTYLE CHANGES:
Beyond the confines of the clinic, USS Wellness advocates for holistic lifestyle changes that support long-term well-being. Dr. Uss and his team provide guidance on nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sleep hygiene, recognizing the integral role these factors play in overall health. Dr. Uss enthuses: "Through lifestyle interventions, dietary adjustments, and targeted treatments, our patients are empowered to take control of their health and vitality."

A DARING DECADE
Rhone celebrates its ten-year anniversary with a debut women’s collection and the title of Exclusive Official On-Course Apparel Partner of the LPGA.
Plus, the co-founder’s reflections on brotherhood, running the London Marathon in a Rhone button-down, and what it means to build a legacy brand.
SWritten by Katelyn Rutt
ported by celebrities like Matthew McConaughey and Bradley Cooper, Rhone is known for its flexible Commuter Pants and button-downs that free you from trips to the dry cleaner for good. Yet, the performance-inspired company isn't just about apparel; Rhone proudly identifies as a “wellness brand that just so happens to sell clothing.” Founded in 2014 by brothers Nate and Ben Checketts, Rhone caters to an audience beyond traditional athletes, attracting buyers that want to look and
feel great in every moment—from a demanding workday to 18 holes and beyond.
“Ben is more creative about clothing and I’m the natural entrepreneur,” Nate says. “So when this idea began to form in my mind while I was working at the NFL, he was the thought partner. Ben was working at the former Learfield IMG College, so we would spend our commuting hours, nights, and weekends talking about what’s missing in the market and what a brand could look like.”
Having run a lucrative sports camp in their backyard throughout high school, the Checketts brothers seized the chance to re-enter the world of entrepreneurship. The pair observed that menswear clearly fell behind the womenswear industry, which emphasized innovation, high-quality materials, and consumer relationships. Whether it was the commuter braving the weather on their way to the office, the busy parent squeezing in a workout during naptime, or the dedicated golfer, Rhone aimed to be a brand that resonated with all walks of life.
“Wellness has been a journey for me so it was important to highlight that mind and body connection,” Nate says. “Mental fitness is not only about preparing for a crisis; it means daily maintenance, building resilience, and having that storage to draw from. We wanted to build a clothing brand that would help you do that.”
After 18 months of dedicated development, the brothers' vision swiftly gained momentum. A surge in post-launch sales, boosted by a feature in The Wall Street Journal, propelled them to fully commit to their project. Nate highlights this article as Rhone's "defining brand moment," prompting Ben's relocation to Connecticut, the establishment of an office, and a concentrated effort to get product into as many hands as possible.
“Word of mouth was our only form of marketing at first,” Nate recalls. “We couldn’t afford models, so we modeled our own products. Ben and I have always been scrappy and were hyper-focused on having the best product in the market. It was when celebrities started showing up in the media wearing Rhone, without being sent or paid to wear it, that we knew we were making a great product.”
As with any new venture, some aspects of the brand flourished while others were slower to gain momentum —notably the early popularity of the Commuter Pants while the complementary Commuter Shirt required some more innovative marketing. At the time, Nate was training for the London Marathon and recalls a conversation with the brand's head of finance who suggested he compete in the shirt to showcase its capabilities.
“My first reaction was that it was crazy, but I had a 14-mile training run scheduled the next day, and decided to just put it on,” Nate says. “I remember thinking miles in, ‘Wow this shirt might be the best shirt I’ve ever run in.’ Cars were honking and people were asking why I was running in a button-down. I ran the London Marathon in the shirt and it turned into a marketing moment. Sales picked up by 300% and it’s still one of our best-selling products.”
Given their affinity for the unconventional, it’s not surprising that the Checkett brothers are now making a bold foray into womenswear with their East Coast-inspired line. Nate reveals that he was apprehensive about entering the competitive space, but entrusted the project to their chief product officer—best known for building Athleta from the ground up and eager for another opportunity. After 18 months of creation, extensive wear-testing, and feedback loops, the collection exceeded all expectations.
“The women this is developed for are powerful and capable and it would be an insult to design something for a single workout modality,” Nate says. “The cherry on top was that LPGA approached us when they saw the line. We couldn’t be more thrilled about our launch and this distinct honor.”
Despite Rhone’s immense growth in the decade since the brothers turned their side hustle into a dream career, Nate says their brand goal remains simple: to motivate a “Forever Forward” lifestyle through performance-inspired clothing that supports the diverse goals of its wearers.
“In a way, it’s been a love story, as cheesy as it is to say,” Nate says. “People warn you about going into business with family, but Ben and I are proud of the way we live out brotherhood and I’m grateful to have him along for the ride. When you have a 50-year mindset, you take care of your vendors, team, and customers in a way that reflects that. Even ten years later, I’m more excited about Rhone than when we started. That’s pretty rare and we can’t wait to see all we’ll accomplish in this next decade and beyond.”
CHRISTIAN SIRANO ADDS HIS CREATIVE TOUCH TO DELAMAR WESTPORT
AMERICAN DESIGNER CHRISTIAN SIRIANO IS SET TO BRING HIS CREATIVE TOUCH TO KEY INTERIOR SPACES OF THE NEW DELAMAR WESTPORT. THE LATEST OFFERING FROM THE DELAMAR HOTEL COLLECTION IS POISED TO BECOME THE PREMIER DESTINATION FOR TRAVELERS SEEKING A LUXURIOUS EXPERIENCE IN A COASTAL SETTING.
Written by Katelyn Rutt
Designing the lobby and key suites for Delamar Westport, the newest addition to the esteemed Delamar Hotel Collection, is no small task. The boutique hotel brand is known for its bespoke approach, industry accolades, and dedication to locally sourced cuisine, cutting-edge spa services, and opulent accommodations. For Christian Siriano—acclaimed American designer, owner of a comprehensive interior design studio, and Connecticut local—the project is a natural fit, fueled by passion, expertise, and a love for sparking conversation through design.
“The goal for this project is to foster a cozy space for guests to unwind and connect but feel like they’re in a space that’s exciting and very style-forward,” Siriano says. “This pays the perfect homage to Westport, a town that holds so much history yet spearheads contemporary fashion, art, and interiors in Connecticut. I want this to be a type of space guests have never interacted with before and to shape their unique visit to Delamar Westport. This hotel will be a sophisticated and fashionable addition to the Westport community.”
Siriano will oversee the interior design for the lobby and three signature suites, including the Presidential suite. The hotel will offer 86 guest rooms, a full-service restaurant, and a bar with outdoor dining and lounge space. Additionally, there will be meeting areas, private function spaces, a fitness facility, and a state-of-the-art indoor pool with a retractable roof.
“I’ve been a regular at the Delamar Southport since I moved to Westport in 2020,” Siriano reflects. “Delamar Southport’s restaurant Artisan is such a fabulous place to get drinks and dinner, especially with their incredible outdoor space in the summer! I feel like I visit it at least once a week.”
Familiar with the charm of the East Coast and having immersed himself in the vibrancy of major cities like New York, London, and Paris, the designer has a deep appreciation for diverse historical styles. Siriano says he observed a noticeable void in Westport’s hotel scene, igniting his excitement for the debut of the hotel and his involvement in the project.
“Westport is a town full of so many chic people, restaurants and stores,” Siriano adds. “Yet there really isn’t anywhere chic to stay which is such a missed opportunity for the town. We’ve worked on some other incredible projects in Westport, which is a fun change from our typical New York projects; more space to incorporate more design being the best difference!”
In both his red carpet creations and residential and commercial interiors, Siriano’s signature approach revolves around sculptural elements and historical aesthetics, perfectly complementing the elegance of the Delamar brand and the essence of
Westport. The designer is renowned for his skill in harmonizing aged woods and organic textiles and he frequently combines these elements with modern geometric shapes to create a timeless aesthetic infused with depth.
“The primary challenge in the Delamar Westport will be finding a design concept that will resonate with the various guests that walk through the door,” Siriano says. “Designing someone’s home is one thing, because you only have one person, or family, the design needs to resonate with the space. But designing a space that hundreds of people will see and resonate with every week will be a challenge for sure. One that we’re excited for, though! The main opportunity is that, as a Westport resident, I’m excited to create something that I personally want to see for the community.”
The designer's excitement about the opening of Delamar Westport is palpable, reflecting the anticipation shared by the Westport community for the anticipated growth and cultural enrichment it will add to the area.
“I hope people feel excited about their stay the moment they step through the front door,” Siriano adds. “My key advice with designing hotel spaces like this is to have fun with it. Remembering that this isn’t a home where people have to eat, sleep and breathe in on a daily basis, it’s actually an experience we’re here to curate. Being bold and having fun helps shape that positive and memorable experience!”
Delamar Westport is slated to open 2024. Learn more at www.delamar.com and www.sirianointeriors.com.

EPICUREAN
MEET GLAM GOURMET Romilly Newman
Written
That is my mission in life, taste,” explains twenty-something New York-based chef and food stylist who has been working in the culinary industry for more than a decade after gaining attention as the youngest competitor on Chopped at the tender age of thirteen.
Her delicious taste in food, fashion, art and design belies her age and are with increasing momentum, propelling her to the top of the domestic goddess food chain.
“I wanted to figure out a way to combine all of my interests while still being taken seriously as a chef,” muses Newman, whose carbonara recipes and cocktail choices are creating as much of a stir as her style. Known for her platform heels and feminine maxi dresses from her go-to designers like Vampires Wife and Doen, she is as well dressed as her favorite shaved brussels sprout salad at Via Carota. “People always say: ‘Oh, you don’t have to get so dressed up for me,’ and I’m like, it’s not for you, it’s for me! It’s a coping mechanism and how I escape some of life’s bleak realities.”
With the lifestyle brand she is building, Newman hopes to spread the joy of satisfying the senses while reiterating that her taste doesn’t have to be yours. She wants to teach others how to find things that make them happy and strategies to implement them into their own lives. “I’m not telling everyone they have to be a Victorian widow,” she laughs, looking ever the part with her flawless porcelain skin and poof-sleeved frock.
For Newman, real luxury is all about intention, time, and attention to detail. From the way you prepare your egg in the morning to the bubbles you put in your bath or rituals around sleep, these are ultimate luxuries she can help curate. “I think a lot of influencers tend to repeat what’s trending but I’m not about telling people what they have to buy at this exact moment, it’s truly down to lifestyle and learning to express individualism.”
Some of these critical laissez-faire lessons were imparted by Newman’s Parisienne Mother, who taught her the party is only as good as how much fun your guests have, something this haute hostess takes to every table with a collection of vintage silver and table linens to prove it. She treats every guest as the VIP at an event, even if the Martha Stewart is snapping Instagram photos of her artfully arranged acorn-fed ham nestled on a table terrain of butter mountains between an archipelago of sterling bowls brimming with baguette. Working the room is part of the party giving process.
Despite her serene exterior, Newman admits she is always anxious before her food is served and is incredibly self-critical, no matter how much recognition or validation she receives. “I will always have that nervousness, and I thank God for that. It’s what keeps me good at cooking because I am constantly pushing myself to make it one percent better, to learn new skills, and further my understanding of flavors.”
So how does a woman constantly surrounded by lavish meals, size two dresses, five-inch heels, and society photographers maintain a healthy self-image? “I am very much an aesthetic person, so I do hyper-fixate on the way my body looks, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t care…” confesses Newman. She eats everything (except red peppers) and rather than dieting, finds balance by keeping to simple foods like roast chicken, raw fish, and salads on days she isn’t working.
“I am someone with zero self-control as a human being across all boards, but I focus a lot more on how my body feels now instead of how it looks. There are times I know I’m eating way too much fat or gluten, and I know my body feels sluggish, and I know this decadent hedonistic lifestyle can’t be every night.”
Working on more practical ventures like a partnership with her favorite French heritage cookware brand, Staub helps keep her balanced while manifesting her next high-heeled steps. Hoping for her dream would be food collaborations with fashion houses like Hermes and Chanel and working with hotel groups hosting unique experiences and curating culinary programming. Food for thought.

A TOAST TO Celebration
A SPARKLING WINE TO UNITE ALL RELATIONSHIP STATUSES
Written by Katelyn Rutt
When Irena Patar envisioned creating a celebratory wine, she always knew it would be more than a bottle on a shelf.
Originally from the Republic of Georgia, the cradle of the wine world, Patar grew up surrounded by family, bubbles, and celebration. After a career in computer
science, with college on the horizon for her two kids, she knew the moment was right to merge her love for sparkling wine with her passion for human connection.
The idea behind the founder’s Single Married Divorced Sparkling Wine concept? A result of her keen observations from friendship and travel.
“In the early days of idea development, I realized that so many people are unhappy because they let their relationships define who they are,” Patar says. “I wanted to create something that could serve as a reminder for people to celebrate instead of going to the bar, drinking, and grieving. Whether that is toasting to a second chance to meet the right person, commemorating renewed love, or creating the life you want now.”
Patar’s brut trio is crafted in the méthode champenoise style and rooted in a fruity, floral, and memorable drinking experience. The wine is yellow-gold with aromas of apricot and peach that carry deeper undertones of brioche and hazelnut. Patar says her goal was three-fold: To craft a high-quality wine, educate her consumers, and offer a beautiful product at an accessible price point.
“I sampled about a dozen wines,” Patar says. “I have amazing relationships with very respected individuals in the wine world who were kind enough to assist with blind tastings and help
narrow down the options. I love that Single Married Divorced Sparkling Wine drinks like champagne but doesn’t exhaust your palette. It opens you up for more.”
The wine, refreshing and elegant, pairs best with seafood like oysters or caviar, pastry hor d'oeuvres, and desserts with caramel flavors. However, Patar’s creation, like a celebration, is intended to be enjoyed in any moment of life.
"It's a tribute to the myriad of ways we experience and navigate love, commitment, and growth,” Patar says. “Whether sipping in solitude, toasting to shared futures or raising a glass to new beginnings, each relationship status holds its own significance. Through our wine, we aspire to recognize and celebrate these distinct phases, inviting consumers to connect with the wine on a deeply personal level.”
Patar hopes Single Married Divorced Sparkling Wine will connect family and friends and serve as a means to form new bonds.
“What better time than this season to pop a bottle to the embodiment of life’s journey, encapsulating the laughter, tears, and everything in between,” Patar says. “As consumers pour a glass of our sparkling wine, they’re not merely indulging in a drink; they’re indulging in a moment of reflection, a chance to embrace the memories and emotions that define their relationship stories.”

FROM TIDE TO TABLE: Oysters: Connecticut’s Gem
Written by Georgette Gouveia
In the face of historical depletion, Connecticut's oyster industry has experienced a renaissance through aquaculture, turning coastal communities like Bridgeport, Mystic, and Norwalk into thriving hubs of oyster farming. Spearheaded by pioneers such as Norm Bloom of Copps Island Oysters, this sustainable practice has not only restored the oyster population but also enriched the local cuisine scene, with Frederic Kieffer’s Delamar restaurants leading the charge in celebrating these gems of the sea.
Once when Frederic Kieffer was savoring Oysters
Rockefeller at a Charleston, South Carolina, restaurant, he came upon a pearl – not the kind that adorns Mikimoto strands, mind you, but an irregular thing of beauty. And doing what any sensible husband would do, he immediately gave it to his wife, who kept it for a long time.
But then, Kieffer has no need of pearls himself. As corporate chef and partner in Connecticut’s Delamar Hotel Collection, he has long regarded the versatile mollusk as a gem in itself for the way it sustains both humanity and the planet.
“Oysters are very popular from l’escale to La Plage,” he said, referring respectively to the restaurants at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor and sister property The Inn at Longshore in
Westport (believed to be an inspiration for Jay Gatsby’s estate in “The Great Gatsby.”)
The oyster’s sustenance was well-known to the native peoples of Connecticut and New York, who found all the nutrients they needed in the once plentiful oyster beds and the so-called Three Sisters – corn, beans and squash. But with the arrival of the colonists, natural oyster beds were soon depleted and both regulation and importation proved less than fruitful.
In the 19th-century, experiments in cultivating oysters in artificial beds would make Connecticut the New York-New England leader in oyster production only to see a variety of factors – everything from climate change to economic depressions to a greater emphasis on coastal living – once again threaten the oyster in this area a century later.
In our time, the Connecticut oyster has bounced back, thanks to the rise of aquaculture – the farming of aquatic plants and animals in underwater beds in such coastal communities as Bridgeport, Mystic, New Haven and Norwalk, which holds its 46th annual Oyster Festival Sept. 6 through 8. Kieffer has two “go-to” sources for the oysters served in the Delamar restaurants – Copps Island Oysters, founded in Norwalk in 1994 by Norm Bloom; and Noank Oysters near Mystic. He’s also fond of Canadian Malpeque oysters. Indeed, cold-water oysters are said to be crisper and sweeter than their fleshier, brinier warm-water cousins.
At such restaurants as L’escale, La Plage and the Artisan at the Delamar Southport – there’s also an Artisan at the Delamar West Hartford – Kieffer likes to serve a chef’s special of raw oysters, four from New England and two from Canada. Oysters might also pop up in crudos, dressings and chowders. (See accompanying recipes.)
Though they are associated with the tastes of summer, the best months to enjoy oysters are those that end in “r” – September through December – Kieffer said. For newbies, start with the Noank or
Malpeque oyster, which are less fishy, then skip the cocktail sauce and the mignonette (vinegar, shallots and pepper) and go straight for the cracked black pepper to bring out the flavor.
As for the shells, they along with the mussel and clam shells used in the restaurants are cleaned and collected regularly by Connecticut’s Collective Oyster Recycling & Restoration (CORR) to nourish the ocean floor.
No doubt, oysters will have their moment when the Delamar Collection debuts the Delamar Mystic and its La Plage restaurant and oyster bar and the Delamar Westport, later in the year. The Delamar Westport will feature global mediterranean in a restaurant called Dandelion, after the misunderstood plant.
“What people here consider a weed is one of the world’s most consumed plants,” Kieffer observed.
Wonder how dandelion greens pair with oysters.

LA PLAGE OYSTER CHOWDER
Directions:
Ingredients:

• 1 cup Chardonnay
• 2 cups heavy cream
• 8 ounces fingerling potatoes
• 4 sprigs thyme
• 50 to 60 Copps Island oysters or medium oysters of your choice

• 3 pieces small green onion or 6 pieces scallion
• Salt and pepper to taste
1. Peel and slice the fingerling potatoes into 1/8-inch pieces. Set aside.
2. Pick the thyme leaves off the sprigs. Set aside.
3. Open the oysters, remove them from the shell and place them in a bowl with their own liquid (oyster juice). Keep them refrigerated.

5. Peel and dice the onion into ¼-inch pieces.
6. Wash and dice the fennel and celery sticks into ¼-inch pieces.
7. Cut the leeks into ¼-inch square pieces, mostly the white part, then wash them.
8. Peel and smash the garlic cloves.
9. Cook the Vidalia onion, leeks, fennel, garlic and celery with the olive oil over medium heat for 5 minutes, till they are translucent.
10. Stir in the gluten-free flour and cook for 1 minute.
11. Add the clam juice and bring to simmer.
12. Add all the other liquids, heavy cream, fingerlings and thyme leaves.

14. Check the seasoning, salt especially.
To serve the chowder:
Place the oysters in a shallow pot and heat them up to a light simmer for about 15 seconds.
Place 5 or 6 cooked oysters in each soup plate, arrange the crackers over the oysters and sprinkle the green onion.
Serve the plate as is, then ladle the chowder table-side. Serves 10 to 12.

9. Taste the tartare for salt and spiciness. It should have little bit of heat but not too much.
10. Finally, fold in the chopped oysters delicately.
11. You can free form the tartare on each plate or use a ring mold to shape it.
12. Add the remaining oysters on top of each tartare.
13. Garnish the tartare with micro green.
14. If using the quail egg yolk or caviar option, simply add these elements on top of the tartare alongside the oyster.

BRINGING Vision to Life
Designer Claudia Ricciardone’s
masterful transformation of a New England home redefining luxury and comfort in Avon, Connecticut
Photography: Laura Sumrak | Photostylist: Kendra Surface
Designer: Claudia Josephine Design
In the picturesque town of Avon, Connecticut, luxury and comfort unfold within the walls of a stunning New England home reimagined by Claudia Ricciardone of Claudia Josephine Design. Amid the challenging circumstances of a global pandemic, Ricciardone's talent and unwavering dedication to her craft brought a vision
to life for attorney Michael Day, of the Day Law Firm, and psychologist Dr. Joyce Day, alongside their two children and three feline companions. This remarkable project not only showcases Ricciardone's creative skills but also highlights the harmonious integration of in-person design and virtual design services.
Acquiring their beautiful Avon residence during the pandemic, the Days reached out to Claudia, whose firm is headquartered outside of Charlotte, NC, during a time when in-person consultations were virtually impossible. Ricciardone, undeterred by these possible challenges, commenced the process of transforming the family’s new house into a home that boasts elegance and comfort while preserving functionality. The project began with several virtual consultations, in which Ricciardone began to explore and understand the family’s lifestyle, preferences, and hopes for the future of their living space.
“Claudia has excellent style and is also incredibly patient, resourceful, and practical with all her suggestions and recommendations,” praises Dr. Joyce Day. These words encapsulate Ricciardone’s approach of blending aesthetics with practical solutions, ensuring that every design decision affirms the clients’ needs and desires. The virtual design phase saw Ricciardone expertly navigate the complexities of remote collaboration. Utilizing the firm’s client portal, detailed mood boards, and physical samples, Ricciardone was able to present design concepts that captured the Day family's vision. From selecting updated color palettes to choosing furniture that balances luxury with durability, every detail was carefully considered. Claudia’s ability to translate ideas into tangible designs virtually is a testament to her adaptability and expertise in the field of interior design.
Once circumstances allowed, Ricciardone and her team brought the project to its delightful conclusion with in-person styling. This phase was about adding personal touches that virtual design could not fully capture. Walking through the Day residence, one is immediately struck by the harmonious blend of sophistication and comfort. The living
spaces are adorned with custom furnishings that reflect the family's unique style, while decor elements, treasured heirlooms, and art (both new and vintage) infuse the rooms with the family’s unique personality and charm.
The Day Residence is more than just a home; it showcases Ricciardone’s ability to bring ideas to life, even amidst the
most challenging circumstances. Her design not only meets the practical needs of a bustling family but also provides a stunning haven that reflects their tastes and personalities. Ultimately, the collaboration between Claudia Ricciardone and the Day family demonstrates what can be accomplished when patience, creativity, and artistry meld.
SCULPTING GREENWICH'S LANDSCAPE: Artistry in Outdoor Design
With Vasilka Bukov's deep-seated roots and extensive experience, Vasilka Landscape & Design has become synonymous with excellence in the industry. Her commitment to personalized service and meticulous attention to detail sets her apart, ensuring that every client receives tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
Written by Madison Bailey
One of the jewels of Connecticut’s Gold Coast, Greenwich boasts stunning homes, expansive properties, charming New England character, and a gorgeous natural landscape. Amidst this picturesque backdrop, Vasilka Bukov, owner of Vasilka Landscape & Design, embodies a legacy deeply rooted in family tradition and a profound connection to the land. Reflecting on her upbringing, Vasilka shares, "Growing up in Greenwich with both sides of my family in the landscape contracting industry is just a part of my roots." With a lineage spanning generations, her journey into the world of landscape design was inevitable.
Upon our first meeting, Vasilka's passion for landscaping was palpable. She excitedly talked of old school farming, her own abundant (and all organic) vegetable garden, and the many animals that roam her land. It’s evident that her connection to the landscape industry runs deep, with both sides of her family contributing to her green thumb. Her maternal grandfather, Din Gospodinoff, laid the foundation with Greenwich Landscape in the 1930s, shaping some of the most iconic estates in Greenwich, Connecticut. On her father's side, George Bukov's tenure as the minister of agriculture in
Bulgaria during challenging times instilled in her the resilience and determination to carry forward her family's legacy.
This legacy, the art of landscaping, blends creative vision with design expertise, transforming outdoor spaces into captivating, functional, and eco-conscious environments. Vasilka’s process involves careful planning, design craftsmanship, and ongoing maintenance of gardens, lawns, and hardscape elements, all aimed at enhancing a property's overall allure. By carefully considering the objectives behind landscaping endeavors, one can cultivate tranquil retreats or backyard sanctuaries filled with both beauty and practicality.
Despite initially pursuing a career in fashion, Vasilka's own path took an unexpected turn during 2008. Spending time with her father, tending to his gardens in Bedford, New York, reignited her passion for the land. Inspired by her father's expertise in growing specialty plants and hard-to-find perennials, Vasilka made the decision to step into the landscape design and contracting business. "I planted my seed that day and have enjoyed every day since," she recalls. "I’m blessed with creating some of the most beautiful landscapes for my clients."
Vasilka Landscape & Design specializes in curating outdoor lifestyles that resonate with individual tastes and preferences. From cozy backyard retreats to vibrant rooftop oases and sprawling estate gardens, Vasilka and her team collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision and bring it to life. "We redefine property care with precision, excellence, and personalized service. Our mission is to elevate the maintenance experience by delivering bespoke solutions tailored to the unique needs of every property." Their dedication to personalized curation ensures that every project is a reflection of the client's
unique style and desires.
At the heart of Vasilka Landscape & Design lies a commitment to personalized service and attention to detail. According to the founder of JerMar Designs—the award-winning, full-service luxury interior design studio on Connecticut’s Gold Coast—every home possesses a unique energy. Jeanne Collins’ portfolio is brimming with dynamic executives and entrepreneurs, driving her commitment to instilling wellness and emotional bonds within a home. The studio’s latest undertaking, the interior of a luxury rental apartment in Stamford, showcases the power of intentional design in sparking rejuvenation, rekindling passion, and offering a sanctuary for new beginnings.
“This apartment was designed for a newly divorced woman who had moved from Florida to Fairfield County, to be where her sister lives,” Collins says. “My client is a stylist for Saks and has a glamorous and sophisticated personal
style that she wanted reflected in her new home’s interiors.”
The design palette of choice? A “jazzy” blend of greens, golds, and pink, reflective of the new Stamfordite’s love for Paris, Palm Beach, florals, and luxury accents. As an homage to her client’s daring relocation journey, Collins infused the apartment with boldness through patterned rugs, eye-catching window treatments, and accent pillows.
“I stuck to one primary color palette but varied it based on the spaces and hues of those colors,” Collins says. “For example, in the main living area, the green is a richer, darker green as the space is very large and can accommodate the more bold green. In the office, the green is a lighter, almost blue-green color as the space is smaller. Plus, with the large amount of light and sun, it was designed to be more serene.”
Aware of her client’s penchant for redecorating, the designer selected versatile lights and solid-colored furniture to ensure a harmonious aesthetic, no matter the home’s arrangement. Holly Hunt custom dining chairs, upholstered in mauve velvet with green piping, were set on casters for movability and easy entertaining. However, Collins’ design strategy also expanded into wall art—a key element of the project’s aesthetic narrative.
“I sourced all of the artwork,” Collins says. “I needed pieces that were soothing, calm, and glitzy, yet classy and interesting as well. The pieces tap into the use of different materials, canvases, and design styles. The walls are large with high ceilings so I wanted to fill the spaces and create focal walls for every guest who entered. I found pieces that would complement the furniture designs I had already selected, so the artwork became the jewelry for the rooms.”
The designer, well-versed in navigating interior complexities, notes that the project had one primary hurdle: the building’s regulations allowing only one supplementary lighting fixture near the dining table. Collins and her team relocated the fixture’s electrical box above the table’s center, seamlessly blending it into the ceiling with a coat of paint. Collins adds that her client was very flexible throughout the process, making the collaboration “seamless” for both parties.
“My client was in tears when we professionally photographed the home,” Collins says. “She couldn’t believe it was actually her home after all she had been through with her divorce and the move to Connecticut. She finally had a home that completely represented her style, her passions, and her energy!”

FROM ICONIC SOUP CANS TO RELIGIOUS ICONS:
The Multifaceted Art and Commerce of a Pop Art Legend
Written by Georgette Gouveia
For many artists, art and commerce have always been Shakespearean “mighty opposites,” with the artists finding it hard to market and thus make a living from their work. But for Andy Warhol (1928-87), commerce was art and art commerce as he used a background in advertising and illustration not only to promote himself and his creations but also to comment on marketing, consumerism, and the media. Campbell’s Soup cans, early muses, may have been obvious commodities, but then so were the celebrities he captured in jewel colors.
These subjects and more are explored in “Andy Warhol: small is beautiful” through Oct. 13 at The Bruce Museum in Greenwich. The show – which features almost 100 individual paintings, some of which, in keeping with the title, are as small as 5 by 5 inches – ranges from the portraits of products and people that helped define the Pop Art movement in the 1960s to a late-career consideration
of abstraction, with stops along the way at the themes of commercialism, nature, sexuality, and Catholicism. Warhol’s Byzantine Catholic faith was key to his upbringing in Pittsburgh as the fourth child of immigrants from a part of Austria-Hungary that is today Slovakia. It would inform his work – the multiple portraits of Alexander the Great, Jacqueline Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and Elizabeth Taylor gleaming like icons; prints of Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper” awash in camouflage and Dove soap and General Electric logos – along with his life in New York. (Warhol was an attendee of the Byzantine-style St. Vincent Ferrer’s Roman Catholic Church in Manhattan, and at his memorial at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on April 1, 1987, he was eulogized as a “Christian gentleman and a Christian gentle man,” one who financed a nephew’s education in the priesthood and served in soup kitchens and homeless shelters.)
CAMPBELL’S SOUP CAN
But if there were a sacred aspect to Warhol’s life in New York — where he moved after attending St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic School and what is now Carnegie Mellon University to work in advertising and illustration – there was also the “profane.” Warhol would explore sex, gay and straight sexuality, and celebrity culture in various media; in Interview magazine, which he founded in 1969 with British journalist John Wilcock; and at The Factory, the studio and hangout Warhol created in
1963 and the infamous nightclub Studio 54.
Through all of this, the artist was at a passive remove.
To some, he was a keen observer; to others, a classic voyeur. Warhol himself described his life as if he were watching TV, even when he was shot on June 3, 1968 by separatist feminist Valerie Solanas, and seriously wounded.
For five and a half hours, Dr. Giuseppe Rossi worked to save his life at Columbus Hospital (now Cabrini Health Care Center), where he would remain for two months. A
grateful Warhol would nonetheless always feel as if he were living on borrowed time, that his resurrection, as it were – he was pronounced clinically dead – was a debt that would have to be paid. That notion would prove to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. He died on Feb. 22, 1987 after a seemingly routine gallbladder surgery that was anything but, given a family history of gallbladder trouble, his fear of doctors and what his family charged was inadequate care. (Their suit was settled out of court.)
“In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes”: It’s a quote that people misattribute to Warhol, because it sounds like something that the man for whom the medium was truly the message should’ve said, anticipating the digital age in which we’re all voyeurs and stars. But with artworks that earn hundreds of millions of dollars at auction and the Pittsburgh-based Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and Andy Warhol Museum, time shows no signs of running out on Warhol’s renown.
THE GRANITE THEATRE, Where Legends and Artistry
Thrive
Discovering the Magic Beneath the Stage and the Passion Behind the Curtain
Written by Marci Moreau
There is something truly magical about being a part of a world that blends artistry, imagination, and emotion, where stories come to life right before your eyes.
And for the Granite Theatre, majestically perched upon the highest point in downtown Westerly, Rhode Island, there is much more than magic in the air, and quite literally, in the ground.
According to folklore, the Granite Theatre is built upon a magic rock, and, as a big fan of urban legends and a bigger believer of magic, I couldn't resist ventur-
ing into the tiny rubble basement to find out more. And yes, while I can substantiate the presence of this ”magic rock,” I also discovered the real enchantment happens when the remarkably gifted artistic director, Nicole DiMattei, with her devoted staff and board members, come together to produce community theater at its best.
Reminiscent of an off-Broadway gem, the historical charm of this restored Greek Revival Church sets the stage for the various genres of entertainment and educational programs that make up the compelling mission of the Granite Theatre.
With each performance, from the moment you enter the theater, there's a sense of anticipation, an unmistakable energy that fills the air. Whether it be the dimming of the lights, the hush that falls over the audience, or the pure enchantment of a live performance, it all builds a sense of collective wonder.
Even more awe-inspiring, the wonder of the theater is endless through a child’s eyes, and with the new Youth Theater programs, every child gets to experience the
power of the stage, creating a treasure trove of memories, and, at the Granite Theatre, whatever role they play, they know what it feels like to be a star.
Nurturing a love for the arts and bestowing gifts of entertainment, education, and outreach, along with pure joy, celebration, and, of course, magic, the Granite Theatre is an iconic source of creative expression, cultural enrichment, and a collaborative community spirit that is making our world a better place to be.
The Granite Theatre is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and rely on the support of generous contributors. Visit www.granitetheatre.org for more information and to get involved.

GREENWICH POLO CLUB returns for another season
Written by Georgette Gouveia
Tickets are on sale for Greenwich Polo Club’s 2024 season, which plays out on Sundays amid the town’s verdant backcountry.
The season begins with the American Cup on June 9. Then on June 16, 23 and 30, it’s the East Coast Silver Cup, followed by the East Coast Gold Cup on July 7, 14 and 21.
Undoubtedly the high point of the season is the East Coast Open, sponsored by Audi, which will be contested Aug. 25 and Sept. 1 and 8. The season concludes with the Greenwich Cup Sept. 15.
Since it was co-founded by businessman, philanthropist and art collector Peter M. Brant, Greenwich Polo Club has become one of the world’s top venues for high-goal polo. (It’s also home to the White Birch team, which bears the same name as Brant’s neighboring White Birch Farm and White Birch Paper company. One of the most successful teams in polo history, White Birch has won the most high-goal matches in the past 25 years, including the U.S. Open Polo Championship in 2005. Among those who have led the team are Brant and the Argentine superstar Mariano Aguerre.
Other luminaries who have thundered down the field include his countrymen Nacho Figueras, Facundo Pieres and Hilario Ulloa and the United States’ Nic Roldan. In 2013, Figueras captained a team against one led by his friend, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, for the Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup. The Greenwich Polo Club match raised funds for Sentebale, the charity the prince and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho founded in memory of their mothers to raise funds for the mental and physical well-being of HIV-infected children and youths in Lesotho and Botswana. It was a magical day that drew New York luminaries and the press alike for a taut match in which
Prince Harry’s team prevailed.
But then every Sunday is an enchanting one under the high clouds of Greenwich’s soft seasons as more than 3,000 metro-area spectators enjoy tight, thrilling matches in which players, horses and mallets tangle, then suddenly open up, taking off down the field; along with exhibits at the Brant Foundation Art Study Center; vendors selling related wares; picnicking; and refreshments from gourmet food trucks, The Pony Bar by The Cup Bearer and the Polo Bistro by Marcia Selden Catering. There’s also the Players’ Lounge VIP where you can meet and greet the two-legged athletes.
Delamar guests receive an exclusive rate for all ticket types this year. To learn more, please ask the front desk to secure your special rate. Tickets begin at $50 for a car pass for matches that start at 3 p.m.
The gates open at 1 p.m. For more, visit https://www.greenwichpoloclub.com/tickets

FROM JAMAICA With Love

“Never say no to adventures, always say yes, otherwise you will lead a very dull life.”
- Ian Fleming
Sound advice from the legendary James Bond author who fell in love with the country while on a mission with British Naval intelligence. He subsequently penned the entire series of novels from his beloved Jamaica estate, GoldenEye.
Now, 007’s sites of adventure and tranquility on the azure coast of Ocho Rios can be reached with facile on direct two-hour flights between Miami International (MIA) and Ian Fleming International Airport (OCJ). Take your swimsuit in your carry on as in only half hours’ time you can be embarking
on your holiday at the newly renovated Sandals Dunn’s River. Originally designed by legendary architect Morris Lapidus, the adults only resort still maintains the legacy of “Miami Modern” style. Smiling staff greet you in the open-air lobby with warm hand towels and a personal welcome song while whisking your bags to your room, explaining the room key is the key to your new home in Caribbean idyll.
Whether in one of the luxe private villas or a suite, there is no shortage of aquatic options on this property. Sea views beckon from the spacious balconies where you can have a dip in your outdoor soaking tub or a private a glass sided plunge pool overlooking the largest pool on the island. Bond’s “A View to a Kill” is simply a killer view.
Each guest is given a phone and assigned a private butler who upon receiving your text will do everything from reserving your favorite lounge chairs, keeping your cold drinks on refill, planning water sports, booking dinner reservations at one of the 12 restaurants on property or organizing spa treatments.
Sandals Dunns River
The spa is a retreat within the retreat where calming scents of the island’s native botanicals jasmine and lemongrass waft through the air. After a hot stone or aromatherapy massage, take a cold plunge or a steam. Some of the spas unique therapeutic products are produced by Jacana, a local organic farm with a completely clean line of botanicals.
Don’t miss a day of excursion with Island Routes Powerboat Adventure who will pick you up on the property’s pier. Jump into spectacular snorkeling en route to climb Dunn’s River Falls, one of the few travertine waterfalls in the world that empties directly into the sea. After the exhilarating adventure, the next stop is Laughing Waters, a private beach which is the very spot where Bond spots Honey Ryder emerging from the shore. Sip from giant coconuts before sitting at the swoon worthy table set with tropical flora on the golden sand. Wash down Jamaican delicacies like Ackee and codfish, jerk chicken and fried plantain with rum punch and reggae before boating back.
One of the most unique opportunities the resort offers is through the Sandals Foundation. The Reading Road Trip gives visitors the opportunity to volunteer and become immersed in Caribbean culture by visiting local schools and reading to children. For me personally, this experience stamped Jamaica in both my passport and heart forever.

Lancia Aprea breathes new life into the famed Lancia Sorrentina boat, a symbol of the 1950s, with its debut Lancia Aprea 52.
Written by Katelyn Rutt
For over 130 years, the Aprea brothers’ vessels have ruled the seas with a blend of power and elegance— the embodiment of Sorrento’s seafaring legacy. The latest creation, a collaboration with the esteemed family and Michael Sinacola, Is the 2023 Lancia Aprea line and its initial 52-foot model. The craft took center stage at three prominent boating expos in September, the Cannes Yachting Festival, Genoa Boat Show, and Monaco Yacht Show, clinching a coveted nomination for the “2024 European Powerboat Award” in the 20-meter class.
“This is a prestigious nomination for any boat, let alone for one in the year of a new brand,” Fratelli Aprea USA President Michael Sinacola says. “This design is a new evolution. It features a blending of the timelessness of a historical model with the artisanal characteristics and innovation we’re known for.”
The source of inspiration referenced by Sinacola is the Lancia Sorrentina, a vessel that served as a carrier for port-bound lemons from Capri and Sorrento and a means of transportation
for celebrities and seasoned jetsetters. Drawing from this iconic boat, Sinacola explains that the team undertook a meticulous two-year process, infusing it with contemporary elements while preserving its soul and giving careful consideration to every detail.
“This was a distinct opportunity for us,” Sinacola says. “Some modern designs are harsh, lifeless, and almost sterile. Being able to infuse modern design with old world passion for this deeply-rooted Italian art was a really wonderful opportunity—to produce something that people will appreciate from all perspectives.”
The debut of the Lancia Aprea 52 marks the initiation of a comprehensive series, spanning from 32 to 72 feet, meticulously crafted to cater to the discerning preferences of yachting enthusiasts. Capable of achieving speeds ranging from 34 to 50 knots, contingent upon the chosen engine package, this model presents a walkaround style characterized by sleek, robust lines, emphasizing both cruising capability and comfort.
There are multiple layouts and options for the Lancia 52. Variations in propulsion type, deck layout, and interior design allow endless choices to optimize the owner’s experience onboard. The Lancia Aprea 52 boasts up to three cabins and two bathrooms and is adaptable for use with MANi6 800 shaft inline diesel engines, Volvo Penta Pods IPS800, or four Mercury Verado 600 V12 outboards.
“Our Mediterranean market tends to favor light woods and colors, while our U.S. clientele leans more towards high-gloss mahogany finishes and cabinetry,” Sinacola says. “The boat features three Garman GPS touch screens, full JL Audio sound
system, plus joystick controls and a Sea Keeper.”
Yet, the craftsmanship of the boat transcends mere adherence to the requirements of its two markets. Lancia Aprea’s collaboration with esteemed design houses, such as Loro Piana, for interior finishes and fabrics holds significance in forging a connection between Italy and the U.S. Another pivotal partnership, established over four decades, involves Naples/ London-based Brunello Acampora and Victory Design Style Center. This enduring relationship reflects a shared vision to spotlight the pinnacle of Italian design, enhanced with American flair and features.
“This boat has such a rich heritage, and we wanted to pay homage to that through our partnerships with other multigenerational Italian businesses,” Sinacola says. “It’s a blending of two different worlds that are one in the same, focusing on fine Italian things, beauty, elegance, and unparalleled quality.”
These purposeful collaborations and the fusion of Italian and American craftsmanship were an ideal synergy for the brand’s venture into this phase of boatbuilding—as the team navigated the intricacies of spatial functionality, refining prototypes, and establishing permanent molds. Today, the Lancia Aprea 52 stands as the boatbuilders’ pioneering venture into crafting a vessel from the ground up using high technology and computer-aided design.
“It’s a floating, dynamic piece of art,” Sinacola says. “Experiencing the sensation of being out on the water, smelling the salt, and feeling the breeze is the deepest connection you can have with a boat. Creating that with a team of people who are beyond passionate—it’s their life’s work—is a very special and humbling experience. This new line is bold and filled with Italian passion and soul, and we are thrilled to bring it to the world.”

Past, Present, & Future
The Greenwich psychic and spiritual worker, renowned for her celebrity and Wall Street clientele in Manhattan, shares the story behind her divine gifting.
Written by Katelyn Rutt
Unlike most vocations that require the honing of new skills, Janet Lee’s foray into the world of psychic and spiritual work was incredibly innate.
“I am a born-gifted psychic with an Indian background,” Lee says. “My entire family has the ability to look into a person’s past, present, and future and help them shed light on troubling issues in their life. My grandmother was a handson healer, my mother was a born-gifted psychic with vision, and I have the divine ability of both gifts.”
This dual-ability, Lee says, is very unique in the industry. It’s arguably what brought her from northern Connecticut to Greenwich decades ago—a charming area she has now called home for nearly 25 years.
“I was approached by Saks Fifth Avenue to do a promotion,” Lee says. “They asked me to come in and do psychic readings for any $100 purchase at the Lancôme counter, so I came across to Greenwich.”
On the morning of the promotion, the line zig-zagged and Lee was booked with readings for most of the day.
“The second request I got from Saks Fifth Avenue was to return and work for Chanel, doing readings for each $500 purchase,” Lee says. “Once again, the line wrapped around the corner of the store.
In the third conversation I had with Saks Fifth Avenue they said, ‘Janet, can you please be our VIP psychic for the store?’”
From that moment forward, the “Greenwich Psychic” was born. Lee worked at Saks Fifth Avenue every weekend, prompting her to eventually open her own shop on Greenwich Avenue where she could specialize in psychic and spiritual work.
Since then, Lee’s psychic work has expanded to include a luxurious office suite in Manhattan where she conducts most of her readings for her Wall Street clients. Both of her office spaces blend luxury with comfort and feature a home-like atmosphere.
“In a typical reading, people will come in, sit down, and I will do most of the talking,” Lee says.
“The reading starts by going through a person’s past, present, and future. Most of the time, the reading concentrates on the mind and heart, what’s going on in the present, and healing any broken parts.”
Confidentiality is highly important to Lee, who has a list of high-profile clients she guards carefully. No matter the client or the unique struggles they bring to Lee, the psychic finds deep fulfillment in her calling.
“When they enter, clients are broken and hopeless,” Lee says. “After working with me, we’ve picked up all of the pieces and put them together again. Clients always leave feeling whole and happy.”
