MEET THE TEAM Who are we? Well in short we are a team of regular guys and girls who have a passion for travel, witness new experiences, and most importantly keep our faith whilst doing so. With our experience, we provide your clients with the comfort to explore new destinations they may never have considered. We use only the best teams on the ground, hotels we have approved, and restaurants in which we’ve eaten, to ensure your clients’ journey is as seamless as possible. We try our best to ensure all goes to plan all the time, but rest assured our slightly obsessive attitude means we are on hand should the unexpected occur.

Commander in Chief Nabeel found his love for travel on his solo adventures. Now, his passion for travel is to ensure his clients have an amazing trip to some of the worlds’ most sought after places. Although Asmaa holds the office record for most miles flown in one trip, Nabeel proudly holds the accolade of travelling to the world’s most remote inhabited island; Easter Island. Nabeel’s favourite destination is too difficult to pin down. A true island goer, anywhere where he can cycle around the island in an hour, or take a boat to do a spot of deep sea fishing is a second home to him. With plenty of sunshine hours at some of the worlds’ most beautiful boutique hotels, Nabeel’s the go to person if you’re searching for a luxury hideaway.

Asmaa (also known as Sammy around the office) is our city loving expert. From Sydney to Miami, Asmaa is the hijabi traveller keen to unearth everything a city has to offer. From tips on what to take for a modest beach holiday to how to survive the humidity of the Far East, Asmaa is also most sisters’ point of call for travel fashion advice. Her favourite city is Singapore, mainly because of the bargains to be had in Bugis Junction and the nearby Albert Centre means she can eat her favourite thing in the world...noodles! Asmaa also reminds us on a frequent basis that she has clocked up the most miles in one flight with her trips to Australia...we’re quite competitive when it comes to things like this. Oh, and Asmaa is part responsible for Ted, our flying teddy mascot!

Ehsan provides us with wisdom (and wise cracks) on pretty much a daily basis, whether it’s a dash of poetry or his ad lib inspiring quotations. His knowledge of the Middle East is pretty useful too, and is the go to guy for anything in the UAE from the best places to eat (close to his heart) or an exhilarating experience in the mountains and desert. His favourite destinations are the cosmopolitan Emirates and the gorgeous island of Langkawi. A true romantic (aww), he always looks for those special experiences that make moments memorable.

Abdurrahman is the newest member of our team, bringing a wealth of travel knowledge and experience. From working out complex routes, to sharing his experiences in Australia and New Zealand, Abdurrahman is always on hand to offer some great advice. In his spare time, Abdurrahman follows his beloved Liverpool FC and can often be found trawling through the latest travel news, keeping up to date so you don’t have to!

BOSNIA Tour Code: BODISC

Our private tours of Bosnia are a glimpse into a country of contrasting beauty and darkness. On the one hand, their torturous past is still vivid in many memories, while on the other the stunning beauty of the countryside, waterfalls and even Pyramids are a sight to behold. From Bosnia’s many rivers and fertile land comes its wonderful cuisine, local meat, fruits, cheeses and honey that are organically produced, and giving back to the local economy is an important part of the Bosnian culture. On our tour, we visit sights such as the Gazi Husref Bey’s Waqf, Shehids Cemetery, Travnik Fortress, the Esma Sultana Mosque and the Bosnian Pyramids in the historic town of Visoko, amongst others. We also pay a visit to the beautiful towns of Mostar and Srebrenica, the backdrop for some of Bosnia’s darkest moments.

Day 1

Arrival into Sarajevo and transfer to the 4* Hotel Hills

Day 2

Explore Sarajevo and learn about its fascinating story as you walk through the city, covering over 500 years of history. You will begin in Sarajevo’s Old Town, where the rich Ottoman heritage includes the marketplace, fountains, Gazi Husref Bey’s Waqf (mosque, hostels, madressa, library, food halls and the Clock Tower) and the Emperor’s mosque. In the afternoon visit Shehids Cemetery & the Assassination of Ferdinand, the location of where World War 1 started.

Day 3

Discover the spring of the River Bosnia, a stunning nature reserve, followed by a horse and carriage journey through the beautiful tree lined avenues. Later in the day, you will stop for prayers and lunch before heading to the War Tunnels which tell the incredible story of survival and hardships suffered by the people during the Sarajevo Siege.

Day 5

You will start with a tour of Travnik, a cultured town with a rich history where you will experience the Travnik Fortress & the Coloured Mosque. Your next stop is the Ahmici Memorial, Jajce and the Esma Sultana Mosque. Today you head to Fojnica, home to thermal springs and which has an 800 year old Fransiscan Monastery with an amazing collection of artefacts and extensive library. Next, you head to the mysterious Bosnian Pyramids in the historic town of Visoko, which has recently become world famous for the discovery of 3 large pyramids. In the afternoon, you will join a seminar about Islam in Bosnia-Herzegovina – held in the wonderful setting of Gazi Husref Bey library after Dhur prayers and lunch.

Day 6

Today visit Mostar’s Old Town, including the world famous Stari Most Bridge, Karodoz Bey mosque, Mehmed Koski Pasha mosque and the Ottoman marketplace. You then continue to the UNESCO world heritage site of Pocitelj, followed by Stolac and then Blagaj.

Day 7

Depart Sarajevo to the northeast town of Srebrenica, famous for its tragic role in ending the Bosnian war. After Jummah, you will visit the Srebrencia memorial and sites where the worst atrocity in Europe since WW2 took place, as well as meeting some of the Srebrenica villagers and survivors, learning about their incredible bravery.

Day 8

Transfer to Sarajevo airport for your return journey.

ANDALUCIA

Beautiful Andalucia, on Spain’s southern coast, is home to 3000 hours of sun per year, many kilometers of golden sand beaches and amazing natural and historical landmarks. From the Alcázar castle in Seville, to Córdoba’s Mezquita Mosque-Cathedral and Granada’s Alhambra palace, this amazing tour is packed full of sun, beautiful historic landmarks, and breathtaking scenic views. Arrive at Madrid airport, and transfer to the 4* Luchanar Hotel (or similar) and overnight.

Day 1 Day 2

This morning meet your driver and transfer to Madrid train station for your morning journey to Seville by train. Upon arrival into Seville, transfer to the 4* Seville Center Hotel (or similar) and overnight.

Day 3

Witness the beauty of Sevilla with a half day walking tour of the city. In the afternoon, have the chance to enjoy the Reales Alcazares, one of the most well preserved palaces from the Islamic era.

Day 4

Today, leave Seville and transfer to Cordoba by car. Upon arrival, check into the 4* Cordoba Center Hotel and overnight.

Day 5

Start your day off with a half day walking tour of Cordoba exploring the historical streets of the city. The tour includes tickets to the Cordoba mosque where you’ll have some time to explore. Overnight in Cordoba.

Day 6

Today, leave Seville and transfer to Granada by car. Upon arrival, check into the 4* Gran Hotel Luna De Granada (or similar) and overnight.

Day 7

This morning meet your guide for a two hour walking tour of the Albeycin, the old city of Granada with it’s cobbled streets and Moorish architecture. In the afternoon, head to the highlight of any Andalucian trip, the Al Hambra Palace, magnificently restored and gain an insight into it’s vivid past (please note there is no guide included at the Al Hambra Palace, however audioguides are included in several languages).

Day 8

Depart your hotel in Granada and transfer to Madrid airport for your return journey.

TURKEY Straddling Europe and Asia, Turkey is rich in history dating back centuries, even long before the famous Ottoman Empire. Modern day Turkey is a blend of the old and the new, where one can wander the cobbled streets of Istanbul during the day and cruise the Bosphorus by night. Istanbul can keep you busy for days on end, with the beautiful Blue Mosque, Haigha Sophia and the Topkapi Palace (which holds relic items dating back to Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h) all within easy reach of central Istanbul.

5* BERA ALANYA TKBERA The well established and luxury Bera Alanya halal resort, located on the southern coastline of Turkey, is the ideal retreat for families and couples looking for a halal getaway. Providing Muslim families with a wide array of halal friendly activities during their stay on the Turkish Med, the resort consists of pool areas and spa facilities separate for men and women, and an open air terrace on the top floor of the building exclusively for women. There is also a prayer room for women on the top terrace floor. All food within hotel premises is halal, serving a range of international and Turkish cuisine with breakfast, lunch and dinner provided as an open buffet concept. There are also snacks served at selected times between meals and the in room mini bar is free for guests on your arrival day only. Outside, there is an open mixed beach area for families with modest or Islamic swimming dress code. Free sun loungers and shades are available, as well as free towels provided for use by the pool and on the beach. An authentic Turkish bath and Spa is segregated for men and women. 5* WOME ALANYA TKWOME Located a 90 minute drive from Antalya airport, the Wome Deluxe is a 5* halal friendly resort along the southern Turkish coast. With it’s extensive landscaped gardens, the resort offers guests access to their private exclusive beach and facilities. The entry level Superior Rooms offer 33m2 of space suitable for a couple or an additional child. For larger families we recommend the Family Rooms or Suites which can accommodate two adults and two children comfortably. Arrival into Paris, and transfer to your chosen Paris hotel. In the evening transfer to a local halal restaurant for dinner.

Day 2

Morning pick up from your chosen hotel for your four hour tour of Paris with, your own private vehicle and guide. Your tour begins at the geographical centre of Paris, the Opera Garnier. Here you will drive to place Vendôme (a jewel of architecture from the 17th century), the Palais Royal (former Cardinal’s palace), the Louvre (for an outside visit), then along the Seine River to the Île de la Cité where you will make your first stop to have a guided visit of the Notre-Dame cathedral and discover the Sainte Chapelle, with probably the most beautiful stained glass windows in the world. After visiting the Conciergerie (former seat of the Royal power), cross the Seine River and continue the journey on to the literary Paris and the Latin Quarter, the Sorbonne (university), the Pantheon and the Concorde square. As you drive towards the most famous avenue in Paris, the Champs Elysées, Napoleon’s triumphant Arc de Triomphe comes into view. From here, you will pass the Grand Palais, the Invalides (with Napoleon’s tomb for an outside visit), the Eiffel Tower where you will make a stop for photos before driving to Montmartre, the highest point in Paris and village of the artists including Renoir, Picasso, Braque, Toulouse Lautrec, Gauguin and Van Gogh. Here your guide will take you for a small walking tour to discover its unique scenery, the famous Place du Tertre with its cafés and shops and the eternal white Sacre Coeur basilica before driving you back to your hotel.

This morning, meet your Muslim guide for a full day tour of Florence. The highlights of this beautiful city include the Il Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Santa Croce, The Baptisery and Piazza della Signoria. After lunch at a halal restaurant (at own cost) and a stop for prayers, you will visit the Uffizi Gallery, one of the oldest and most beautiful museums in the world, and home to art works from masters such as Sandro Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raffael. In the evening, dinner will be taken at a local halal restaurant (at your own cost).

Day 3

After breakfast, depart from the hotel for your 1 hour 30 minute train journey to Rome. Upon arrival, meet your guide to embark on a full day tour of the ancient city of Rome. Visit the Vatican City for your first stop, which is the highlight of any trip to Rome. After a stop for prayers and lunch at a halal restaurant (at own cost), the afternoon will be spent exploring the Colliseum and the Forum. In the late afternoon, return to Florence.

Day 4

This morning, depart Florence for your 1 hour 30 minute train journey to Venice. View the Teatro La Fenice (Phoenix Theater) and hear its extraordinary history. Discover one of Venice’s finest architectural jewels – the Scala del Bovolo – a magnificent Renaissance staircase in the heart of Venice. Admire the famous Rialto Bridge, one of the city’s best known landmarks, before you board a gondola for a ‘must do’ Venice experience. Glide along the Grand Canal in time-honored fashion gazing up at the lovely old palazzos along the waterway. Enjoy the reflections and the glorious palette of rich muted colours. Make sure you bring your camera to capture one of the world’s most beautiful cityscapes! One water taxi journey or Gondola ride is included. In the evening dinner will be taken at a local restaurant. Please note there are no halal restaurants in Venice, however you will be escorted to a seafood restaurant where the preparation is halal friendly. (Transfer and dinner at own cost). Return to Florence by train.

Day 1

Arrival into London Heathrow, and transfer to your chosen London hotel. In the evening transfer to a local halal restaurant for dinner

Day 2

Morning pick up from your chosen hotel for your two hour tour of London in your very own private black taxi. Your local London ‘cabbie’ will take you across the city of London and of the most iconic skylines in the world, from the beautifully sculpted Tower Bridge to the historic Houses of Parliament. On this drive across the capital, you will photograph some of the best sites in London including Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square and the River Thames. Dhur prayers will be taken at East London Mosque, with lunch in a halal London restaurant thereafter. This afternoon you will experience one of London’s most exciting attractions, Covent Garden. Spend an hour wandering the iconic streets, enjoy the street performers and end your day with a spot of shopping. Transfer back to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 3

This morning after breakfast depart on a full day trip to Stonehenge and Bath. Stonehenge is one of the wonders of the ancient world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe. Stonehenge now has a transformed visitor experience with a new world-class visitor centre, housing museum-quality permanent and temporary exhibitions. Depart Stonehenge to Bath, located a one hour drive away. Stop for Dhur prayers at a local Masjid and lunch at a halal restaurant (at own cost). In the afternoon proceed to the historic Roman Baths. The Roman Baths at Bath are below the modern street level.There are four main features: the Sacred Spring, the Roman Temple, the Roman Bath House and the Museum holding finds from Roman Bath. The buildings above street level date from the 19th century. Return to London in the late afternoon.

Free days at leisure in London, with a day transport travelcard provided to explore London. Included are entry tickets to the London Eye, Windsor Castle, Madame Tussauds and a Thames River Cruise to use at your leisure during your stay.

SOUTHERN MOROCCO

Whether youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re a foodie, a culture vulture, or sporty bod, Morocco has something to keep you enthralled for days on end. The most westerly country of the Arab world is renowned for its enchanting souks, amazing food and friendly people. Our six night tour covers the three main cities, and can be tailored to your preferences. Tour Code: MASOUT

Day 1

Arrive into Casablanca Airport and transfer to the 5* Kenzi Tower hotel (or similar). Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

Day 2

This morning, meet your driver for a short tour of the ‘White City’. Visit the wonderful Hassan II mosque before heading south to Marrakech. Upon arrival, transfer to the 5* Angsana Riads (or similar). The rest of the evening is at your leisure with dinner at the hotel and overnight.

Day 3

This morning meet your guide for a day tour of Marrakech. During the day, you’ll visit the Majorelle Gardens, filled with colourful walkways, ponds, cacti and plants, a garden estate designed by Jacque Majorelle and maintained by Yves Saint Laurent. You’ll also experience the El Bahia Palace and the Saadian tombs, dating back to the time of the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur (1578-1603). The mausoleum comprises about sixty members of the Saadi Dynasty that originated in the valley of the Draa River. In the mid afternoon, visit the Kotoubia Masjid for Asr prayers and then explore the famous Jemma El Fna, the main square of Marrakech that comes alive after dusk. Dinner will be at a local Moroccan restaurant before returning to the hotel.

Day 4

Leaving Marrakech in the morning, you head south. First cross the High Atlas via the mountain Tizin Tichka pass and have lunch on the way. Following the old road of the desert caravans to Tamadakht, you arrive at Ait Ben Haddou in the afternoon. The old city, classed as a world heritage site, is a good stop for a couple of hours. For the night you can stay at Ait Ben Haddou but we generally prefer to push on to Agdz and a night in the stunning Kasbah Azul.

Day 5

After breakfast you head south to the desert. Pass along the Draa valley and enjoy the views of beautiful palm tree oases and old Moroccan villages. You can visit the village of Tamagroute to see how green ceramic is made. In the late afternoon you arrive in M’Hamid, the end of the road and head off-road to the massive dunes of Cheggaga. Overnight in the comfortable tents in the semi permanent camp after a fireside dinner and maybe a bit of local music. There is also the option to upgrade to the sumptuous luxury desert camp.

Day 6

Wake up to watch the sunrise and take a camel trek if you’re feeling a bit adventurous. Then it is back in the 4×4 for the trip north west across Lake Iriqi (it is dry most of the year) to the frontier town of Foumsguid. Here you will stay at the simple Bab Rimal and if not too late maybe even do a quad bike tour of the dunes nearby.

Day 7

Enjoy the shops and atmosphere of the quaint town of Knysna before joining a lagoon cruise to Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy a trailer ride to top of Western Head and walk back through Milkwood trees. Rest of the day at leisure, dinner at a local halal restaurant and overnight in Knysna.

This morning, discover the Terracotta Warriors of Emperor Qin Shihuang. Widely regarded as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world, the three exhibition halls house an army of 8,000 terracotta soldiers and horses that guard the tomb of the first emperor of the unified China. Back to the city in the afternoon, you will visit the most famous mosque in Xian. The Tang Dynasty (AD618-AD907) constructed the Great Mosque of Xian and its nearby Muslim Bazaar. Meet your guide in the afternoon to embark on a unique walking tour. Visit the historical Wat Ket area, Chiang Mai’s most beautiful market and onwards to the old Chinese Muslim Ban Haw quarter. The walking tour ends at the first Christian Church in Chiang Mai. You will visit Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Chinese and Muslim places of worship and learn about their history as your guide will show you old pictures of locations along the way, bringing the past to life. Day 2

Meet your guide to embark on the highlight of your four-day tour. After breakfast you’ll head to Mae Wang where you’ll be introduced to your tuk tuk for the day to drive through the rural countryside. After an hour of training, hop into the driver’s seat and begin driving the bumpy rural roads. If you don’t want to drive a tuk tuk yourself, don’t worry, there’s also the option to enjoy the scenery - and a nice breeze - by simply riding in the back. In the late morning, arrive at an elephant home to learn more about the significance of these incredible creatures in Thai culture as well as interact with them one on one. After being introduced to these gentle giants, help the mahouts (elephant trainers) with feeding time before sitting down to a Thai feast yourself right next to your new animal friends. After lunch, walk with the mahouts and their elephants through the local countryside to the river to help bathe the elephants. Please note elephant riding is not allowed and we don’t endorse elephant riding in any of our tours. After leaving the elephant camp, you’ll trade the tuk tuks in for bamboo rafts to float lazily down the river. While you won’t find any rapids here, you will get to see a different side of the local surroundings while maneuvering the river’s twists and turns. Then it’s time to jump back into your tuk tuk and wind your way back through the valley enjoying your last moments behind the wheel. As the road curves and sweeps gently down the hill, be sure to have your camera out to catch the surprised look of local villagers when they see you driving your very own tuk tuk! Please note the minimum age of travelers on this trip is 7 years old and above.

After breakfast, board your private transfer from Chiang Mai to Fang and Thaton. Along the way, visiting the Hmong hill tribe village of Huay Luek. Upon arrival in Thaton, which is a small village just a few kilometres away from the Burmese border, enjoy lunch at Mae Kok River Village (at own cost) Depart by traditional long-tail boats for 1½ hour journey down the Kok River, passing tiny hill tribe villages, bamboo huts and jungle. Further down the river, after passing a few rapids, visit a hill tribe village. Arrive in Chiang Rai in the early evening and check into the Le Meridien Chiang Mai in a Deluxe Garden View Room.

Explore the “Golden Triangle”, once a center for trading opium on the border of Myanmar and Laos. Take a one-hour boat trip on the mighty Mekong River before continuing by road to Chiang Saen, a small crossroads town on the banks of the Mekong River. This morning, after breakfast and early start begin exploring the jungles of the Gunung Leuser National Park around the Orangutan Care Centre of Bohorok. Afterwards, hike along a 500m trail, and, if you’re lucky, you’ll spot a few hairy orangutans swinging through the jungle canopy a few meters above your head. It is a marvelous sight to see the orangutans coming out of the forest to the platform by swinging freely from branch to branch. Upon arrival at Kualanamu International Airport in Medan, you will be met by a guide and private chauffeur who will escort you to Medan City. Stops at the Great Mosques and Maimoon Palace will be made before checking in at Aryaduta Medan to rest.

Day 2

After breakfast, proceed with a 4 hour drive towards Tangkahan. Upon arrival at Tangkahan, cross the river by a cable and pulley driven dugout canoe to reach a simple lodge for your overnight stay. Experience the local elephants. A dip in the river and a jungle trek are also included in the day.

Day 3

After breakfast, leave Tangkahan for Bukit Lawang, passing plantation and jungle roads. On the way stop at plantations and several interesting places where you can enjoy the panoramic views and witness the activities of the local people. After checking in at Bukit Lawang, you’ll have free leisure time.

Day 4

After breakfast, leave for the orangutan feeding station through the rainforest of Bukit Lawang National Park. Afterwards you will hike through the jungle for your first orangutan tour. Trek 2 to 3 hours deeper into the park to explore more tropical flora and fauna before having a picnic lunch. Late afternoon return to Bukit Lawang.

Day 5

After breakfast, you’ll leave for Lake Toba and Samosir Island. Along the way you will stop at Brastagi Fruit market, Pematang Purba, Rumah Bolon and Simarjarjunjung. In the afternoon, you will reach Parapat where you will cross to Samosir Island by local ferry. Once you arrive at your accommodation you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the place.

Day 6

After breakfast, start cruising on Lake Toba by private ferry boat. Your first disembarkation will be at Ambarita Village, before proceeding to Simanindo Village. Afterwards, proceed by boat to Tomok Village which is full of souvenir shops. Your private cruise will then take you back to your hotel for the night.

Day 7

In the morning, a public ferry boat will take you back to Parapat, before continuing your trip to Padang Sidempuan. An en-route stop will be made at a pineapple field to consume fresh fruit. Proceed to the market place of Balige at the southern end of the Lake Toba before visiting Sipoholon hot springs. Drive on to Padang Sidempuan to check in to your hotel. Various scenic stops will be made along the way.

Day 8

After breakfast, leave Padang Sidempuan for Bukittinggi, the “Minangkabau Highlands”. On the way, you will stop at Aek Sijornih Waterfall, before procedding to Sihepeng to visit the local mini Botanical Garden featuring tropical plants. Continue driving to Purba Village, the center of a huge Islamic Quranic School before continuing to Bukit Tinggi to check in to your hotel. Various cultural stops will be made along the way.

Day 9

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on a full day city sightseeing tour featuring Fort de Kock, Jam Gadang, and the market of Pasar Atas. Drive to the lovely Sianok Canyon, followed with a stop at the Palace of Pagaruyung. Return to Bukit Tinggi with a chance (if time permits) to stop en-route at Pandai Sikek; a small village famous for traditional gold and silk weaving techniques.

Day 10

After breakfast, transfer to Mingakabau International Airport. The journey will take approximately two hours with an en route stop at Anai Valley to enjoy and witness the beauty of the 40 meters waterfall.

Departing after breakfast, today you’ll head further east and visit Polonnaruwa, which was the 2nd capital city of Sri Lanka, built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD, and is a world heritage site. In the afternoon, visit the spectacular Dambulla Caves before heading back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

After breakfast, you will leave Dambulla and en-route visit the Matale Spice Gardens before arriving into Kandy for lunch (at own cost). Heading inland, you slowly climb into the hills where the temperature drops and the land becomes lush and green. You’re entering the tea country, where you’ll stop for a tea tasting experience and marvel at the stunning scenery of Nuwara Eliya. Overnight at the boutique Warwick House.

Perched 7000 feet (2140m) above sea level, the World’s End stands as the goal for this hike. The viewpoint is spectacular (weather permitting), and an early arrival before sunrise is recommended. Continue to Ella and overnight at the beautiful 98 Acres Resort.

Enjoy a scenic drive this morning through the hill country, heading south to Yala and en-route stop at the spectacular Rawana waterfall in Ella.

An early morning start for your safari in Yala with breakfast served when you return.

At 9pm, you’ll leave on your night safari. Using night vision goggles with infrared technology, the team at Nature Trails have created a ground-breaking excursion in Sri Lanka to offer you a jeep safari in the night. The use of special infrared vision is to ensure that the wildlife will not be disturbed by the artificial lights, therefore reducing the environmental foot print.

Day 10

This morning, you’ll have your final safari before having breakfast and departing to Galle. The afternoon is at leisure, followed by dinner and overnight at the boutique the 5* Shangri-La Hambantota. Today, depart after breakfast to the marina for your whale watching expedition (seasonal excursion from October to March). Sri Lanka’s whales are widely recognised as some of the most varied and undiscovered wild mammals of the ocean. The plankton rich seas offer many whales the opportunity to feed from October to March in the south and from April to September along the north east coast. Return to your hotel in the afternoon with the rest of the day at leisure.

Today enjoy leisure in Auckland. If you’re on a self drive itinerary, pick up your car in central Auckland.

Day 3

Travel south passing Hamilton, Te Awamutu, and Otorohanga and arrive at Waitomo caves. Here you will embark on a boat and cruise into a grotto, illuminated by countless of tiny glow worms suspended from the cave ceiling. In the afternoon, continue across Lake Karapiro, and Fitzgerald Glade, to the famous geothermal city of Rotorua for overnight stay.

Day 4

Today, experience the many sights that Rotorua has to offer. Take a stroll through paradise valley springs to see native flora and fauna in natural surrounding and the huge trout fish that come to spring to breed, after which, is the performing sheep show at the Agrodome farm. Visit the Te Puia - Whakarewarewa thermal reserve and learn about traditional Maori arts and crafts institute.

Day 5

Continue to Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand via Lake Taupo and overnight.

Day at leisure to explore New Zealand’s capital city.

Day 7

After breakfast, transfer to the inter-islander ferry terminal to take the ferry crossing of the Cook Strait to the South Island. The ferry journey is 3 hours and you will arrive at town port town of Picton. From here you will travel south to Kaikoura, the seaside town famous for whale watching.

Depart Mount Cook and follow the shores of Lake Pukaki to the small town of Twizel. The route turns south through the MacKenzie basin and the junction town of Omarama. Then it’s over the Lindis Pass to the old gold workings near Tarras, the township of Cromwell and the “Alpine Resort” of Queenstown.

Day 11

Follow the southern arm of Lake Wakatipu to Lumsden, and onward to Lake Te Anau. Enter the Eglinton Valley and travel through the Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. Enjoy a full length cruise of Milford Sound in modern, purpose built vessels offering magnificent views of the Mitre Peak and Bowen Falls. Commentaries are provided in several languages. Return to Queesntown in the late afternoon.

Day 12

Free time to explore the endless optional attractions available. Queenstown offers bungee jumping, jetboating, white water rafting, gondola rides and much more. Optional activities are payable locally at your own expense or we can organize them at a supplement.

Day 13

Departing Queenstown this morning, travel along the shores of Lakes Wanaka and Hawea to the Haast Pass, gateway to World Heritage Westland National Park. Continue up the West Coast past spectacular mountain ranges, native forests and lakes to the glacier region of Fox and Franz Josef. Spend the afternoon exploring the region at your leisure.

Day 14

Leave the Glacier Region today, travelling north towards the town of Hokitika. From Kumara Junction follow the signs north towards Greymouth and the Taramakau road rail bridge. En route is Shantytown a replica 1880’s mining town set on one of the Coast’s former gold rush sites.

This morning, head out to sea in search of the ocean’s giants on a whale watching expedition, and in the afternoon depart Kaikoura as you turn inland and travel through North Canterbury to reach the ‘Garden City’ of Christchurch.

If you have a rental vehicle, return this to Greymouth Railway Station and check in for the TranzAlpine Train. Board the TranzAlpine train and ascend through lush beech forests past the alpine village of Arthur’s Pass before crossing the spectacular Southern Alps. Travel over the Canterbury Plains to reach ‘the garden city’ of Christchurch. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel and overnight.

Leave the Canterbury Plains behind, travelling over the braided Rakaia River into the MacKenzie Country. At Lake Tekapo visit the Church of the Good Shepherd. From Pukaki, take the road inland to Mount Cook and overnight. Day 15
