Why do you love Real Estate?

It's a natural fit for me. I enjoy the challenge of finding the perfect buyer or seller and bringing them together. I saw a quote years ago that said "A realtor is not a salesperson. They're a matchmaker. They introduce people to homes, until they fall in love with one. Then they're a wedding planner." ​And I think that is a great explanation.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Austin?​ I grew up in southern California, on the coast outside of LA. I moved to Texas to go to SMU and moved to Austin in 1989. I've been selling homes in Austin since 1991.

Tell us what you love about Austin? There is so much to love! The hike and bike trails, the outdoor concerts, the weather, the music and theaters. Everything from rock and roll to the symphony and Eeyore's birthday party to UT football games. The lake, the festivals, the micro breweries and of course the food. It's a wonderful place to raise a family, be single or retire, there is something for everyone.

Comments made by the sellers when walking through their home prior to listing it can tell you a lot about how they lived in the home and what made them fall in love with it and/or the neighborhood. The change in body language (positive or negative) a buyer makes when looking at potential new homes, along with comments about the homes features let me know what is truly important to them and helps me find the best house for them. Looking at pictures online is a great way to get started, but nothing can compare to standing in a home and imagining living there.
