The highest sales price so far in 2022 was $23.5 million, for a property in Fauquier County. The second highest sales price this year was in Fairfax County ($11 million). The most expensive home sold this year in Alexandria went for $5.1 million.

Luxury homes in the region continue to sell faster on average. The average days on market so far in 2022 (January through October) for luxury homes was 51 days. This is nearly three weeks faster than this time a year ago (-19 days). So far this year, luxury homes have sold the fastest on average in Falls Church (1 day), Prince William County (40 days), and Alexandria (48 days). Luxury homes have remained on the market longest on average in Fauquier County (119 days) and Loudoun County (114 days) so far this year.

Within the local markets, luxury homes sold 1.5% above list price on average in Arlington County, and 1.3% higher than the list price in Falls Church.
