How did I end up in Charleston... It began as a vacation – a theme you hear over and over from “transplant” Charlestonians – in October 2009, when my family spent a week at Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms. Truthfully, this coastal city had me at its gorgeous beaches, but once we experienced the historic district of the peninsula and got a peek at the idyllic Lowcountry life on Daniel Island, we were irreversibly charmed. Three months later my wife and I packed up our three children and our lives in Breckenridge Colorado and came home to Daniel Island, SC. Today, we happily wear short sleeves in February and spend our hot and humid summer days at the ocean or community pool on Daniel Island. I’ve been a licensed real estate broker (not to be confused with an agent) for 18+ years. Ten of those years were in Breckenridge, Colorado and the past eight (8) years have been in Charleston. I have successfully closed over $175,000,000 in sales throughout my career, while navigating over 230 closed transactions. Growing up as a son and grandson of architects, I soaked up an understanding for design flow and smart design functionality, walking the numerous structures they designed. My father also educated me in aspects of renovation in his rental properties. Over the years, a further affinity for dwellings and real estate developed as my father taught me the unexpected reward of re-purposing special finishings. I found this to be especially useful a few years ago when our family built a home on Daniel Island and we were able to use some of these refurbished items from the home I grew up in.
