What an INCREDIBLE place! Everything about our experience staying at Hideaway was top notch. From the house itself (STUNNING) to the little things like having all the proper dishes and cooking utensils to make you feel as if you were at home. This rental experience was the BEST I’ve ever had. There was a welcome basket upon arrival with a house guide to help with connecting to WiFi. There were kayaks that we used and the hot tub was on and ready to go. I felt there wasn’t one thing the host did not think of. Again couldn’t be happier and would love to come back again in the future.

John-Mark M. Mitchell: Mitchell P rime P roperties Helping redefine the Luxury Real Estate Market in North Carolina, USA and consistently educating the public on the Art of Selling Well. How did you star t in real estate?
Upon completing college, it seemed a great idea to take a year off before continuing my educational journey. Having had a real estate license, I thought that was a natural place to rest and enjoy a little downtime from the books. I was wrong. By joining a local company, I developed a fever for selling and became the top company producer in a few months. I was then recruited by the largest firm in the area and worked my way to the top again. After realizing this was more than just a few years’ rest from law school, I never looked back. I made the decision to invite my mother into the business and built a large team of brokers; which broke every record in marketing and selling homes for 12 consecutive years. Wanting ownership in a company, I partnered with an 80-year-old luxury firm until they sold to a large corporate franchise 3 years later. This gave me the opportunity to begin my own company, which we took on April 1st, 2014. Since then, Mitchell Prime Properties has been the Only Company in North Carolina to be selected on the Board of Regents, which is the Premier Division of Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate. They have won International Awards for their Marketing and Social Media when competing against Sotheby’s, Christie’s International, Rodeo Realty, Harry Norman, & Coldwell Banker to name a few.
What are the keys to your success in luxury real estate?
I believe there are a lot of keys to success, but the most important one is who you associate with in business. We select our associates very carefully because they need to be proud of our company and ultimately that selection is passed on to every one of our customers and clients. They need to be engaged with what luxury means in all areas of life and be a participant in constantly raising the bar in our industry. I am always excited to learn from each of our brokers, and while the firm supports and supplies the environment to help them grow their business, we never encourage them to just follow the leader but to be their own leader in our community and state. By encouraging our leaders to create their own path with our firm supporting them, we have strengthened their power in the marketplace and have brought more power to our luxury market.
W hat are your favorite par ts of your job?
Working on and negotiating a challenging deal and bringing it to the closing table. Better yet, watching one of our brokers sell a property that is extremely unique and getting better results than our sellers or buyers expected. Another part I enjoy is marketing our brand and the constant effort to remain fresh and more relevant in our market place. Bringing happiness to our customers and clients is what we review every day. Our mission statement is as follows: “We feel honored to represent our customers and clients, helping them make smart and

W hat makes your company stand out?
We, on average, interview four or five brokers and select one. We stand out because we are careful not to hire brokers based on their production alone, but also on their goals and whether their personality will be one that fits in our environment. We support each other and while we are very aggressive in business, we are respectful to our fellow brokers in the company. This makes for an extremely positive environment and an ideal atmosphere for helping each other break records in our industry.
W hy is your company successful?
We believe that being different is better, that being boutique doesn’t mean closing fewer properties and that standing out and changing the rules of luxury real estate is what makes us the leader. We have just introduced a new luxury division, MitchElite, that starts at $1M and up. Since our firm already controls over 70% of the ultra luxury market in the Triad Area, we are using this as a way to grow our market share in other price ranges.
