How did you get started in Real Estate?

After grad school I moved to Nashville for a corporate sales position. I was in sales for 13 years and loved the process and my clients, but I didn’t love the tech industry. I have a passion for architecture, interior design, and landscaping—and I’ve felt like an ambassador for Nashville since I moved here in ‘88—so real estate seemed like a natural move. My business partner Robert Stutts grew up here, and we worked in corporate sales together previously. He joined me about six months after I started my career in real estate 25 years ago.

What makes the Stutts Miller Team stand-out?

The biggest thing about working with us is that you’re always working with us. Robert assists our buyer clients, custom-designs our marketing pieces, and handles general administrative duties. I primarily work with our seller clients, and assist some of our buyer clients as well as business development. We don’t have assistants or team members we delegate business to. We pride ourselves on working with select clients and providing a truly boutique experience.

How important is it to work with a Realtor who has luxury experience?

Understanding the dynamics of luxury buyers and sellers—and the properties themselves—are as unique a skillset as understanding land & farms, commercial, multi-family, or any other specialized segment of the market. This becomes readily apparent when you work with a broker who isn’t experienced at this level. I think most luxury buyers and sellers understand how important this is, which is why our clients typically seek our services. I highly recommend any agent who is interested in selling luxury homes to take the course offered by the Institute of Luxury Home Marketing and

to secure the designation offered. It’s a terrific class and organization. I was recently invited to co-host the Institute’s monthly national podcast with their lead trainer, Tami Simms, who works St Pete’s Sun Coast and this is also a valuable resource for agents [Search “Estate of Mind - Jack Miller” on Apple iTunes or youtube.com].

What are some ways you serve the community beyond real estate?

Robert and I support any fundraiser initiated at PARKS, and there are many. Two of my favorites are our annual “Angel Tree” and Make A Wish. We make contributions to our local Make A Wish chapter at each closing and have done so for almost 20 years. We also both served as foster parents and youth mentors for many years. In fact, we adopted our 16 year old son when he was barely four years old as a result of our foster care experiences. He’s a very loving kid who truly cherishes his friends and family.

When you’re not showing properties and closing deals, what would we find you doing for fun or travel?
