Eastside Market Review* Greater Eastside The Eastside housing market in 2018 shifted, transitioning towards a balanced market. There are a multitude of factors affecting this change, several worth noting. First, inventory levels are at their highest since 2008/2009. From January to September last year, the number of homes for sale shot up 214%. Second, buyers are cautious due to political volatility and uncertainties around economic policy. Lastly, foreign investment is down substantially compared to 2016/2017, due to international government restrictions. This has especially impacted the Eastside, where foreign investors have contributed significantly to the Buyer pool in the last 5 years.
