CASE STUDY Jackie and Tyrone had considered moving from their home in Whitefield and searched for a more open-plan style property. Having not found quite the right new place, they decided to stay put and extend their home. An extension to the rear of the property would add a huge amount of space and more flexibility. As soon as they had the plans from their architect the couple were keen to involve Diane Berry Kitchens. Their previous kitchen was in fact installed by Diane’s company and they wanted to draw on the company’s expertise for the second time. Past experienced had reassured the couple and Jackie explained that ‘what you get far exceeds anyone else.’ They were pleased they had Diane’s involvement at an early stage. The company contributed to the plans and made helpful suggestions along the way. Diane was involved not just on the kitchen but on the entire project, helping with flooring and the layout of the whole room, even structural areas too. Diane dealt with the architects on where the beams should go and recommended a lighting firm and worked with them directly making it even easier for her client. The couple have had projects done on their entire property, from bathrooms to furniture and despite it being the biggest undertaking, Jackie found that the kitchen caused the least aggravation. She explained that ‘everything was thought through, people talk about attention to detail but Diane’s is in another league.’ The photographs speak for themselves but along with a stunning kitchen, Diane’s company is able to visualise the end-result and advise on the smaller detail which may not spring to mind when thinking about a new kitchen. Instead of skirting boards at the base of the walls, the space has a tile trim to finish off the contemporary, streamlined look. They also advised the couple about suitable radiators which are not just functional but contribute to the overall aesthetic of the space. Jackie commented that ‘what we have now is perfect’ she agrees that it has totally changed the way the couple use the kitchen and their home. When Tyrone returns from work they’re able to spend time discussing their day whilst cooking. Equally Jackie can keep an eye on her four visiting grandchildren, whether they’re sat at the generous granite table or playing elsewhere in the large, open space. LUXURY HOMES & INTERIORS
