Some history 1914—2012 1925—1936: construction of the new, and more modern airfield "Sknyliv", situated at 6 km from the city center. Prior to 1939: through “Sknyliv” flew the longest air route in Europe: Helsinki — Tallinn — Riga — Warsaw — Lviv — Bucharest — Sofia — Thessaloniki — Athens — Rhodes — Lod — Beirut. 1914—1921: there functioned “Levandivka”, the first Lviv airport. It was built as military by Austrian authorities. 11 000 passenger flow and no aircrashes during its functioning. 760x700 m2 was the area of the airfield. 130 kg, the max carrying capacity of the first aircrafts that were mostly used for the transportation of light mail and money. March 20 — November 5, 1918: Ukraine's first regular mail flight route Vienna — Kyiv (duration — 1 day). Since August 2, 1922: first regular civil flight Warsaw — Lviv (totally 4 passengers). 14

April 1955: opening of a new terminal at the airport (now — Terminal 1). April 12, 2012: grand opening of the new Terminal "A" with the participation of UEFA President Michel Platini. It was built for the 2012 UEFA European Championship.
