THREADED DISCUSSION Learn to Learn Online Getting students actively involved in classrooms discussions could be just a website away. Using a threaded discussion platform gives each student in class an opportunity to respond to an open-ended question. Students have the opportunity to analyze the question and prepare a thoughtful answer and then respond at anytime, within a set time period. Threaded discussion can also integrate digital citizenship in the classroom by teaching students how to respond to classmates and accepting and responding to the ideas of other students.

TODAYSMEET One quick and simple platform for threaded discussions is TodaysMeet found at http://todaysmeet.com. This is a free website to be used by the classroom teacher. As the teacher you create the name of the room, how long you want the room open, the time ranges from two hours to one year. After creating the room, Communication the teacher is prompted to ask pose a question to the class. Then, simply give the class the address that was created and the class will then have the from Collaborize opportunity to respond. A downside to Todays Meet would be that the teacher Classroom does not have the capabilities to monitor the thread prior to the thread being published for other students to read and respond.
