Letter from the President This past quarter has been a very long one. There has been many changes within the chapter that have served as lessons to every sister. We all have now experienced the feeling of raising a sister, as we all have taken part in the New Member Education Process. If anything this has brought us even closer. I am happy with the work the chapter has done, and what we have achieved this quarter, and am looking forward to a very busy, exciting spring quarter with new members to help us out. As always, if any alumni ever have any questions or advice, please feel free to contact me. Georgia “La Alexander #18

We were asked to help them with this program by being in charge of the L.D.A. happy to be reunited. advertising. They provided the flier, we posted them and handed out handbills wherever we could. Most of us were unable to attend the actual events due to prior commitments.

The 4th Annual Dove Ball with our cousins, Phi Beta Sigma was a great success and turn out! Some chapter alumni made an appearance, as well sisters from Bowling Green Omicron chapter. We sold 156 tickets which included a buffet- style dinner. We started off the evening with a jazz band and door prizes. Our speaker was Deb Benton, speaking about her experience with March of Dimes. She showed a touching video of her family and her premature triplets, of which only one survived. We finished off the evening with Gammas and Sigmas pose for a a date auction and DJ. District Retreat

Community Service Sorors Lizz and Laney participated in the 7th Annual Walk for the Homeless January 17th. The goal was to raise awareness of poverty and homelessness in SE Ohio and to raise funds for Good Works Timothy House, which is the only shelter for rural homeless in nine SE Ohio counties. We participated in the homeless simulation walk and experienced being homeless. Soror Selina was there facilitating the walk. We were given only a few supplies each to get through each day. We were also given specific tasks that we had to do in order to survive. At first it was okay, but by the end of three days of trying to live somewhat comfortably with what little we were given, it was very challenging. We hope to participate next year. Our chapter volunteered with Americorp to host a lockin at Trimble High school with girls ages 8-15. Sisters helped prepare food for the girls, as well as supervised them in the many activities they took part in such as dancing, learning about women’s history, and self-defense. Some assoicate members volunteered at the event as well. Overall, it was a very fun experience and the chapter hopes to be involved with this again in the future.
