1966 - We refuse…

What happens around me? a whole group of people can clearly see that modern art does not communicate and becomes more and more a problem of elite. They turn to popular art hoping to fill the gap that separates them from the majority. As a result they break the ties that united to the development of universal art and embrace an art which is only local and provincial. I see another group of people that vividly feels the crisis of modern expression: they try to deny art but find nothing to express this negation works of art. I belong to a third group of people that tries to provoke the participation of the public. This participation completely changes the meaning of art as we had before: and that is why: We refuse all myth external to man. We refuse the work of art as such and give emphasis to the act of making the proposition. We refuse duration as way of expression. We propose the act in itself as a field a field experience. In a world where man became a stranger to his own work

We refuse…

we provoke him via the experience to be conscious of the alienation in which he lives. We refuse every transference in the object-even if the object would pretend only to show the absurd of all expression. We refuse the artist who intends to transmit through his object his object a complete message without the participation of the spectator. We refuse the Freudian idea of man being conditioned by his unconscious past and we emphasize the idea of freedom. We propose the precarious as new concept of existence against all static crystallization in duration.
