EVERSON — There was a time in Whatcom County when swing dancers could dance to their hearts’ content five nights a week at five different Bellingham clubs.    Times are different now, but Wylin

Tjoelker has Monday nights covered.    Tjoelker has been dancing swing for about three years, and he has heard his fellow, more long-time dancers speak fondly of those times when swing was in its heyday.    “I decided that something has to be done so that swing doesn’t die out in Whatcom County,” he said. “Something has got to be done for these students.”    Tjoelker was working with Western Washington University’s Swing Kids club, which teaches swing at county high schools prior to major dances, and he quickly learned that many high schoolers who are initially shy about dancSee Swing on C4
