Maybe there was a sign alerting you to the current obstacles? Maybe you could have seen it coming? The vast majority of issues that compromise transactions down the road could have been addressed much earlier. Preventing fraudulent transactions are the title insurance industry’s biggest priority. Industry watchdogs are aggressively educating real estate professionals and agents to recognize the red flags of fraud. This knowledge will help everyone manage risk and detect fraud before it happens. Get to know the red flags and ask the right questions. 1 HR CE Real Estate Related

Bylaws Change – Rationale Shortening the time period to complete the new member requirement of an ethics class/orientation Members are asked to vote yes or no on the following change to the Association’s bylaws. The rationale for shortening the time new members are given to take the required ethics class/orientation session is so they receive the valuable information about the Code of Ethics and the advantages and requirements of membership soon after application. If the majority of the voting members vote yes, a new member will have two opportunities to attend the ethics class/orientation within the first 120 days, NOT 180 days as a FAAR member. Vote YES or NO… Y___N___ Section 4. New Member Code of Ethics Orientation: Applicants for REALTOR® membership and provisional REALTOR® members (where applicable) shall complete an orientation program on the Code of Ethics of not less than two hours and thirty minutes of instructional time. This requirement does not apply to applicants for REALTOR® membership or provisional members who have completed comparable orientation in another association, provided that REALTOR® membership has been continuous, or that any break in membership is for one year or less. Failure to satisfy this requirement within 120 days (180 days) of the date of application (or, alternatively, the date that provisional membership was granted), will result in denial of the membership application or termination of provisional membership. Note: Orientation programs must meet the learning objectives and minimum criteria established from time to time by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®.(Adopted 1/01)
