Downpour Aliya Cross
Darkness, shadows dancing, light prancing,
the only source of light the flickering glare blinding me. The roar of the rain,
deafening the relentless ringing in my ears. A clean crisp smell calming me
and a reminder that even on the bad days there’s something good. Indecision and irritation in the back of my throat, about to dribble out as a low moan. Sopping hair and soaking clothes cling to my shivering body as I stand, the downpour matching my mood. All my worries ebbing away
as the rain washes away the pain.
