he Gill Group, operate from their headquarters at Church Road, Ballina Co Mayo. Since this family run organisations' inception in 1972 the group has seen a whole new suite of businesses added as well as diversification within the group. Initially, the company was set up as Gill's Driving School in 1972 by Tiernan Gill Snr with just a Ford Anglia … but how things have changed in those forty years and the Gill Group now encompasses five very successful business entities. With the help of Managing Director Tiernan Gill, we profile the Gill Group and the companies that make up this family run business. Starting with Gill's Driving School, Tiernan reveals that they cater for all types of vehicle training. “Today we have a whole new fleet of vehicles offering licence acquisition in cars, jeep and trailer, rigid lorry, artic, minibus and coach in Ballina, Castlebar & Sligo as well as car tuition in Belmullet and Castlebar. All instructors are ADI qualified with the Road Safety Authority,” said Tiernan “First of all, we provide license acquisition training for learners in cars, rigid trucks, articulated trucks, buses, IRISH TRUCKER & LIGHT COMMERCIALS
