Mientras GM anuncia el fin del Camaro y existe un signo de interrogación cari revelado con respecto al Charger y el Challenger, Ford ostenta el renovado modelo del Mustang 2024. Representa esto una política de total hegemonía por parte del pony de Ford entre los deportivos norteamericanos o también el fin de una muerte anunciada…?

Lo que sí sabemos; es que los Dodge Charger y Challenger dirán adiós en el 2024 y con ellos el poderoso V8, a la vez que la marca confirma la llegada de un híbrido enchufable. Recordemos que el Hellcat no es un simple motor. Este V8 sobrealimentado con sus 707 HPs. se ha convertido en el tiempo en todo un icono y un símbolo entre los “muscle car”. No obstante’ desde febrero sabíamos que tenía fecha de caducidad.

Por otra parte; GM anuncia que el nombre “Camaro” seguirá utilizándose en series de carreras como NASCAR, IMSA, SRO, NHRA y Supercars Championship, pero desaparece del mercado como auto de calle.

La gran pregunta entonces nos obliga a mirar el nuevo Mustang 2024, presentado con cierta algarabía por la marca del óvalo. Sin embargo; muchos expertos aseguran que este miembro de la séptima generación sea el último Mustang a gasolina y se adoptaría una estrategia EV completa como Dodge.

What we do know is that the Dodge Charger and Challenger will say goodbye in 2024 and with them the powerful V8, while the brand confirms the arrival of a plugin hybrid. Remember that the Hellcat is not a simple engine. This V8 supercharged with its 707 HPs. it has become in time a whole icon and a symbol among the “muscle car.” However, “since February we knew it had an expiration date.

On the other hand, GM announces that the name “Camaro” will continue to be used in racing series such as NASCAR, IMSA, SRO, NHRA, and Supercars Championship, but disappears from the market as a street car.

The big question then forces us to look at the new Mustang 2024, presented with a certain fuss by the oval mark. However, many experts ensure that this seventhgeneration member is the last gasoline Mustang and a complete EV strategy like Dodge would be adopted.

Si este es realmente el caso; entonces Ford ha hecho un gran trabajo sobre la creación final de su producto insignia, por cierto, bastante especial, actualizando y refinando su icónico muscle car. Pero cuál es su futuro…? porque si repasamos el nuevo Mustang Mach E, poco o nada tiene que ver con el modelo recientemente presentado.

A estas alturas; no es menester ratificar que el futuro está predestinado al auto eléctrico o al híbrido enchufable y la lucha por la supremacía en ese sentido es cada vez mayor. Sin embargo; en nuestro país existe una cultura histórica, ligada desde siempre con los motores V8 y su rugido que será muy difícil descartar. Por otra parte; esa disputa desmedida por la supremacía en la nueva tecnología ha producido una aparición casi fantasmal de vehículos EV, sin una infraestructura acorde, lo que ha provocado severos trastornos en las recargas con el agravante de pobrísimas autonomías.

Entonces; la desaparición de los “muscle cars” en el horizonte es una verdadera solución o se convertirá en el tiempo en otro de los grandes errores de la industria…?.
