The Lakewood Sail & Paddle Club is celebrating its 20th year of providing “On The Water” access for Lakewood residents. To help celebrate our 20th anniversary, the club will keep last year’s COVID-19 reduced annual membership fees. Family – $50/year: Includes personal use for your family and your guests with you. Stitchers Club
The Lakewood Stitchers Club meets the second Thursday of each month in a residential home, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Feel free to bring your knitting, crocheting, needlework, or other portable craft. Join us in a neighborly chat, while seeing all the creative ideas. If you would like to learn to knit, crochet, or learn any other needleart, we are happy to provide personal instruction as well. Garden Club
Wednesday, November 17, 2021 Refreshments - 9:00-9:30 a.m. Program - 9:30 AM followed by Business Meeting Lakewood Oaks Country Club, Banquet Room Looking for safe and effective ways to debug your garden? The November Garden Club meeting will teach you all about how to identify harmful pests and the least toxic methods of eradicating them. Chris Veach, an Advanced Master Gardener, will be leading this discussion on this topic, and diving into how you can preserve and benefit from the 95% of insects that are beneficial in your garden. Veach voluntarily speaks to concerned audiences across the metro area about important gardening topics such as these. Join us for a vital conversation on being more in sync with your garden’s environment.
Tennis Club
Drop in Tennis We are winding down the Drop In program this month. If the weather is playable look for us on Thursday evenings at the Main Courts at 6:00 pm.
Yoga Club
Yoga will meet live in the Augusta Room in the Lakewood Clubhouse. Please bring your own mat and props. You will be asked to sign a waiver on the first visit. Consult your health care provider for approval before starting a new activity such as yoga and follow any restrictions recommended. All levels of experience including beginners are welcome. Monday 5:30 - 6:30 PM medium level class Wednesday 5:30-6:30 all levels Saturday 9:00 -10:15 AM active level class Masks required while Jackson County mandate in place.
Bass Fishing Club
Lakewood Bass Fishing Club upcoming tournament dates and times: September 18: 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. October 23: 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. November 26: 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. December 11: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. All tournaments will be $50/boat and will launch from West Lake Marina. Basic tournament rules apply. Participants must have a functioning live well and no-puncture cull tags. Water Aerobics Club
Water Aerobics looks forward to seeing you during our season, Memorial Day (beginning at Lakewood Oaks Pool) until Labor Day. Two sessions: 7:15 and 8:15 a.m.
Pilates Club
Tuesdays, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. Meets in the August Room, downstairs of the Clubhouse Check availability prior to attending check first with Cathy atlakewoodpilatesclub3@gmail.com as pre-registration is necessary. While class size is limited due to space and to maintain some distance, there are often spots open in a particular class. While all fitness levels benefit from the barre Pilates method that we follow, please check with your physician for approval - a waiver is required prior to attending the first session. Clubhouse protocol are to be followed with respect to masks.
Moms Club
New Tennis Courts The LPOA Tennis Club would like to thank again the LPOA Staff for resurfacing both the Main courts on Lake Dr. and the courts at Eastlake. The courts are level and we now have consistent play on the courts.
