Of Lakewood

Myth #1 Common Ground

“I can walk all the way around Lakewood Lake if I want to, the entire shoreline is common ground.” & “I can fish from the bank all the way around the entire lake on the common ground.”

BOTH FALSE

Although there are vast areas of the common ground that are shoreline, many areas are private property. For instance almost all of the shoreline in the Shores parcel is private property. Lakewood residents are welcome on common ground areas, but cannot use private property without the owner’s permission. If you have questions about a particular area it’s a good idea to ask the LPOA Community Services. Look up the Jackson County Parcel Viewer for a closer look (https://jcgis.jacksongov.org/parcelviewer/).
