Artist Pass Make mac birmingham your creative destination with our flexible Artist Pass scheme, offering affordable access to our Dance, Music and Visual Art and Design studios. Develop your individual ideas and practice using our excellent new facilities. mac birmingham’s Artist Pass provides an opportunity for creative individuals who are experienced and confident in their own practice to work without guidance in our studio spaces. Those with less experience who are interested in what the pass scheme has to offer can, after taking a course, and discussing with their Artist Tutor, be recommended to apply to the scheme.
All successful Passholders must attend an induction before using the studios. A limited number of passes for Painting & Drawing, Sculpture, Textiles, Music & Performance Studios are available and, following a successful application process, will be issued on a first come first served basis. Application forms can be downloaded from mac birmingham website and are available at the Sales and Information desk.

We are inviting you crafties, artists and makers to offer up your neglected creations and join us in making a new piece out of these collected fragments. The Unfinished Workshop offers a place to bring your work, a space to share the stories behind them, and an opportunity to explore ways of connecting the pieces together. By submitting your work you will be allowing other participants to have a hand in its completion. It may be re-imagined, distorted, or fused with other pieces. The project will culminate in an exhibition of the final piece.

Using mac’s exhibitions, performances and spaces as inspiration, participants will engage in a series of creative and sensory activities that are artisic and fun. • We aim to make all participants feel welcome and relaxed. • Sessions will be designed in consultation to accommodate your group’s particular requirements and preferences. • Workshops are delivered at mac and additional spaces can be provided for relaxation and lunch. We recommend group sizes of up to ten, depending on the needs of the group, and supported by appropriate staffing ratios from the booking organisation.
