Another month has gone by, winter is here and schools have closed. While it’s still business as usual for many of us, we continue to support you, even during school holidays.
In the light of putting a face to a name, we kick off our feature ‘Get to know our Customer Services team’ with our intern Mpho Letsoalo. We also share the top 10 selling titles for the month of May.
Our Let’s Talk Session focused on a very hot topic, ‘How to Sell Readers’. If you missed the session, we’ve got you covered! The recording of the session as well as the PowerPoint presentation have been made available for viewing.
The much-anticipated Bookseller Open Day events taking place in Cape Town,
Johannesburg and Durban from 04 – 19 July are happening and we’re looking forward to meeting you! If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, please do so.
More new titles of our TVET First textbooks are coming out:, the Building and Structural Surveying N6 is coming soon.
International Nelson Mandela Day is coming up on 18 July and in the spirit of giving back, we encourage you to find an initiative of your liking that can benefit, however great or small the effort.

How long have you been at Macmillan, and what is your role?
I’ve been with Macmillan for 11 months and I am an intern in customer services.
What appeals to you about your job?
I’m a people’s person, so working in customer services has always been a natural fit for me. I get satisfaction out of helping to solve problems, so this role allows me to show one of my character traits as a person.
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Funny, Smiling & Go-getter
What is the most fulfilling experience you've had as a consultant?
It’s when customers rate my service as “extremely satisfied”.
How do you define good customer service?
Good customer service is being kind and ensuring that customers have the best experience possible.
What book are you reading now?
Understanding The Purpose And Power Of Woman by Dr Myles Munroe
What is it like to serve customers at Macmillan?
It’s exciting and I have a very good relationship with my colleagues and customers.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
It would be the ability to read minds.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
"Never give up" My dad.
