Designer’s Statement “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”-Thomas Merton As a designer and artist, everything I do is for a purpose, with much passion and perseverance. I believe design has to capture your attention. Art has always been a massive part of my life. I remember when I was two years old my parent gave me my first paints and easel for Christmas and ever since then I have had my hands in some form of art. Even as a child I strived for the best from my work. I enjoy being creative and I view Art as a natural way for me to express myself. I prefer Fine Art to anything else, as fine art to me has more potential in it to embrace the artists’ emotions and can contain more depth and concept than any other media. My education on the subject of art thus far has allowed me to be both versatile and inventive. Because art is a passion to those who choose to study it, I believe that however chooses this field puts their hearts and souls into their work and push themselves that extra mile. Throughout this course I have been able to explore software such as Photoshop and Illustrator and to experiment with colors, textures, different mediums/effects. Curiosity is the reason I choose to study art. Studying art has made me more aware of the world around me. There is no right or wrong in art, and it can be translated a million different ways. I aim to make my work expressive and visually interesting. Art is a love affair that I will never leave. I choose the word AMENABLE for it definition is of a person who is open and responsive to suggestion, I try to be a person who is open mined and always there.
