November Programme 2010 An English Boarding School Experience
FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AGED 9 - 16
Two week programme (Monday 22nd November - Monday 6th December 2010)
About UK2Learn UK2Learn is an established provider of educational programmes for international students. The UK2Learn experience is about much more than just improving English skills, it is about students having a wonderful time during their stay in the UK and building long lasting friendships. If you are aged 9 - 16, have a good level of English, a thirst for knowledge and a desire to integrate with local English students by immersing yourselves into boarding school life, the English Boarding School Experience is just for you!
Royal Stamp of Approval HRH Prince Michael of Kent is patron of the programme, which has welcomed more than 100 students since its launch. In a thank you letter received by UK2Learn following Prince Michael of Kent’s visit to one of the courses, he commented on how he found the children a real source of inspirations and was impressed with the students’ progress and how at ease they were after just a few days into the course. UK2Learn is honoured to receive the royal seal of approval, which reflects the standard of its courses.
I would like to thank everyone who gave us such a great opportunity to feel the atmosphere of a traditional English boarding school. Olga, Russian student
Boarding Schools Typically historic buildings set in magnificent grounds, English boarding schools provide a unique and exciting educational experience. English students enrolled on courses in boarding schools not only study there but also live at the schools, and are provided with meals, lodgings and activities. This is student life at its best! UK2Learn has partnered with a number of the most prestigious and beautiful boarding schools in England, and every year more schools opt to join us. These include; Prior’s Field School, Royal School, King Edward’s School, Copthorne Preparatory School, St Catherine’s School, Royal Wolverhampton School, St Teresa’s School, Luckley-Oakfield School, Kings Hall School and Rodborough Technical College.
Your Home From Home UK2Learn allocates international students to the most appropriate boarding school. International students are accommodated in single or multiple bedded rooms within the schools, with all meals served in the school canteen. Alternatively, students may be given the option to live with a local host family who have a child attending one of our partner schools. This provides an equally unique experience.
An English Friend Students are matched to classes appropriate to their learning abilities. During the programme individual students are given the opportunity to shadow an English student of the same age and attend the same classes as their new English friend. This is a fantastic way to not only enhance your English skills, but also to develop long -lasting friendships.

Excursion Day A full day excursion to London invites students to explore the world-famous history of our capital city. We visit Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards, and wander around Trafalgar Square. It’s then time to hit the shops and cafes at Covent Garden, and see if we can spot the Prime Minister in Downing Street as well as visiting other exciting London tourist attractions.
Sports and Activities Whichever boarding school the student is allocated to, the sports and activities’ programme keeps students busy from dawn to dusk! From football, swimming, basketball and volleyball to badminton, rounders and tennis, there is something for everyone. Evenings are just as exciting as students are invited to enjoy a mix of entertainment. Film nights, art and craft workshops, music evenings, a choice of clubs all provide a great way to finish the day.
