Ferris Wheel is a 3-level course designed to give teachers all the tools they need to successfully teach groups of energetic pre-primary learners. With the engaging stories that students will instantly fall in love with, cooperative projects, enriching cultural content and practical teacher support, teaching becomes both effective and enjoyable.
FLEXIBILITY SO TEACHERS CAN MEET STUDENTS’ NEEDS
THE MORE CHILDREN PLAY THE MORE THEY LEARN
A unique Hop on & Hop off approach allows teachers to follow the unit sequence or cover the units in the order they choose.
Practical classroom activities such as pretend-play, games with rules and resources such as story cards and songs, encourage children to learn through play.
CLASS MANAGEMENT AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
LEARNING AND TEACHING POWERED BY NAVIO
Learning routines, a bank of teaching ideas and activity suggestions support teachers in managing their class positively and effectively.
Immersive 3D worlds and engaging language games keep students learning while Tap & Teach lessons allow teachers to deliver clearly sequenced lessons requiring minimum preparation.
Dear Teacher, I’m delighted to welcome you to Ferris Wheel. Get ready to hop on with your children for what I hope will be a truly enjoyable and successful learning journey! Before we start, I’d like to introduce you to the imaginary world of the meerkats. The delightful Mimi and her family accompany us through the course and provide a rich source of engaging, and often humorous, stories which young children will want to hear again and again. Ferris Wheel, with its brightly coloured pods, represents the course’s innovative Hop on & Hop off approach to learning. Ferris Wheel takes into account the priorities and everyday concerns of classroom practitioners, as well as applying what we know from academic research about young children’s overall development and language learning. It also incorporates many practical techniques from my own experience of teaching young children.
Written by Carol Read, the award-winning young learner expert, Ferris Wheel guarantees sound pedagogy, with fresh, easy-to-implement teaching ideas that make learning effective and pleasurable for students and teachers alike. Carol Read’s expertise as a teacher, teacher trainer, author and academic consultant, gives teachers the confidence that teaching will be both straightforward and successful.

Flashcards and Story cards
Learning routine songs and chants allow teachers to create a safe and caring learning environment while providing the opportunity to expose children to the English language in a meaningful context.
Flashcards for every key vocabulary item in the course help to present and consolidate new lexis. Story cards facilitate the presentation of the story and allow teachers to check children’s understanding of the content.
