Argyle Lake State Park - Known as a fsherman’s delight, Argyle Lake State Park has a full complement of recreational opportunities. Just seven miles from Macomb, Argyle Lake also offers picnicking, camping, hiking and boating facilities in a scenic, natural setting. With its 93-acre lake for boating and fshing, fve miles of rugged foot trails through picturesque forests and full-service campgrounds, this heavily wooded, 1,700-acre site is the ideal place to spend time in the great outdoors.

Chandler Park - Established in 1893 through the generous donation of Macomb business leader C.V. Chandler, historic Chandler Park sits at the heart of Macomb, in the center of McDonough County. With its original brick sidewalks, iconic gazebo and century old trees, this scenic park is home to several historic monuments and host to many of the town’s festivals and events.

Dudley Skate Park - Enjoy Dudley Street Skate Park! Featuring a “streetscape” design the site mimics the natural street terrain, with elements such as stairs, railings, benches, and a fun box (a table component in the middle) surrounded by ramps. The idea behind this design is to give the skate park an urban feel, offering a plaza style design that incorporates texture, color and the local architecture.

Everly Park - With over 30 acres of naturally cultivating green space, Everly Park is a perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and grind of the day. Located in Everly Park are four shelter houses fully prepared to make any celebration or occasion a special day to remember. Throughout the park one can enjoy a variety of recreation and leisure opportunities, including three volleyball nets. Everly Park plays host to the back nine holes of the Everwood Disc Golf course

Glenwood Park - Immersed within an Oak Hickory Forest, with over 150 years of history in their roots, sits Glenwood Park. Among 22 acres of rolling hills and towering trees one can enjoy the escape found in engaging in the natural calm and wonder of the outdoors. Glenwood Park plays host to the opening nine holes of the Everwood Disc Golf course, a volleyball net, a playground, several picnic areas, and the Glenwood Stone Shelter.

Horn Field Campus (HFC) - Located just one mile south of Macomb, HFC is part of Western Illinois University’s Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration (RPTA). The 92acre feld campus includes woodlands, prairie and several miles of nature trails. HFC is available for campus and community use year-round upon request and reservation. Do you have a wedding, meeting, retreat or family gathering coming up? Whatever your event, the staff at Horn Field Campus can work with you to ensure your guests have a great time enjoying the natural beauty and quaint facilities of west central Illinois. Lakeview Nature Area - Lakeview Nature Area encompasses 80.3 acres of land including prairie, wetland, and woodland systems in Macomb. It features 55 acres of restored tallgrass prairie including native grasses, forms, and wildflowers. Lakeview Nature Area is home to deer, turkeys, groundhogs, and a wide variety of insects and birds, as well as the Lakeview Prairie Labyrinth, Community Apiary, StoryWalk®, and the Lakeview Nature Center. With diverse outdoor seating options, extensive hiking trails and public parking, Lakeview Nature Area truly offers something for everyone.

Patton Park - Home to the Jackie & Dave Thompson Dog Park, Patton Park hosts a variety of recreational experiences for all to enjoy. Featured amenities include a Pathway for Play (four nature themed play pockets), pond, two softball diamonds, multiple picnic shelters, with so much more to come as Patton Park is currently undergoing many exciting renovations. Spring Lake Park & Campgrounds - This park is home to the 230-acre Spring Lake, with areas for camping and three mountain bike trails. Spring Lake is the freshwater reservoir for the city of Macomb and is noted for superb bass fshing which draws several regional fshing tournaments. The lake is a perfect place to hike, bike, camp or rent a boat or cabin. You’ll also fnd a cross country running course. The country setting is a wonderful place to get in touch with nature.

Veterans Park - Stretching over 80 acres of open land, Veterans Park is the largest outdoor sports complex in Macomb. One can almost always fnd a league or event happening at Veterans Park in the spring and the excitement stays steady through the end of late fall, featuring state of the art baseball diamonds and numerous multi-use felds. Veterans Park also has a playground located next to the multi-use felds, over 1.7 miles of walking trails, QR ft trail, and a designated ftness area with multiple exercises of varying diffculty.

Other Recreation Opportunities

Ball Fore Family Entertainment Center - Ball Fore Family Entertainment Center has something for everyone including eight batting cages, an eighteen-hole miniature golf course, driving range, sand volleyball pit, basketball, playground, picnic area, and concessions. Open seasonally from Spring to Fall.

Ceramics Studio - Nestled inside of the park district offce is a fully functional ceramics studio. The Macomb Park District Ceramics Studio features six electric potter’s wheels and four large hand building tables. For each course offered there are dedicated individual student shelving. Pieces are fred in an electric skutt kiln on a weekly basis. Adjacent to the studio is a dedicated glazing and kiln fring space to add the perfect fnal touches to your pieces!

Everwood Disc Golf Course - Everwood Disc Golf Course offers beautiful scenery throughout a variety of holes that start tight with a moderate covering of mature trees and change in relief and obstacles, fnishing with long challenging open holes. The front nine, located in Glenwood Park, offer shorter holes with a mix of birdie chances with tight approaches. The back nine, running through Everly Park, are longer and much more open. The length provides a greater, enjoyable challenge for the veteran disc golfer.

environmental and ecology studies, prairie topics and more. Check out their list of seasonal programs for specifc topics and age groups. They are also happy to tailor a program to better ft your group’s needs. In addition, they also offer year-round programs perfect for any time of year.

Fishing - Everly Pond and Patton Pond house opportunities for fshing without leaving Macomb city limits. Everly Pond, located on the north edge of Macomb, is a two acre expanse of water surrounded by the beautiful ambiance of Everly Park. On the southwest edge of Macomb, off of Grant Street, is Patton Pond. It encompasses three acres for one’s angling enjoyment. Both ponds are stocked with a variety of fsh for any level of angler.

Glenwood Pool – A fun, safe, and affordable place for families to cool off on hot spring and summer days. The Macomb YMCA staffs the pool with lifeguards, administration, and employees for the Snack Shack. The pool also offers cabanas for rent. Glenwood Pool is open to the public.

MCSRA - The McDonough County Special Recreation Association (MCSRA) is a community therapeutic recreation agency that serves individuals with disabilities who reside in McDonough County. It is structured to provide people of all ages and ability levels with the opportunity to enjoy recreational experiences. The MCSRA emphasizes recreation, leisure, culture, the environment, community integration, and family centered activities. Their goal is to provide skills-based programming to help further develop each individual’s profciency in specialty areas as well as developing skills for daily living.

WIU Sipolt Memorial Disc Golf Course - Check out Western Illinois University’s Sipolt Memorial Disc Golf Course, a beautiful 9-hole course located on the southeast corner of Western Illinois University. Gold Hills Golf Club – This 18-hole course, which is open to the public and located just seven miles from Macomb, has a driving range, practice putting green, and a full-service bar with patio.

Harry Mussatto Golf Course - This 18-hole golf course on the WIU campus is open to the public and features the Oscar Champion Nine and the Eric Gleacher Nine. It also includes a practice area and pro shop carrying a full line of quality golf equipment, apparel, and accessories.

Macomb Country Club – This course, which is for members only, features 18 holes of golf tucked among fve lakes, bent grass tees and greens, and blue grass fairways and rough. There is also a pool, clubhouse, Mulligan’s Restaurant, and full-service pro shop.
