PUNK

The punk subculture, which centres on punk rock music, includes a diverse array of ideologies, fashions and forms of expression, including visual art, dance, literature and film. The subculture is largely characterized by anti-establishment views and the promotion of individual freedom. The punk subculture is centered on a loud, aggressive genre of rock music called punk rock. It is usually played by small bands consisting of a vocalist, one or two electric guitarists, an electric bassist, and a drummer.

Hardcore punk fans adopted a dressed-down style of T-shirts, jeans, combat boots or sneakers and crewcut-style haircuts. Women in the hardcore scene typically wore masculine clothing.

The punk subculture emerged in the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States in the mid-1970s. Exactly which region originated punk has long been a major controversy within the movement. In the United Kingdom, the advent of punk in the late 1970s with its “anyone can do it” ethos led to women making significant contributions.[28][29] In contrast to the rock music and heavy metal scenes of the 1970s, which were dominated by men, the anarchic, counter-cultural mindset of the punk scene in mid- and late 1970s encouraged women to participate. “That was the beauty of the punk thing,” Chrissie Hynde later said.” [Sexual] discrimination didn’t exist in that scene.” This participation played a role in the historical development of punk music, especially in the U.S. and U.K. at that time, and continues to influence and enable future generations. Rock historian Helen Reddington states that the popular

image of young punk women musicians as focused on the fashion aspects of the scene (fishnet stockings, spiky blond hair, etc.) was stereotypical. She states that many, if not most women punks were more interested in the ideology and socio-political implications, rather than the fashion. Music historian Caroline Coon contends that before punk, women in rock music were virtually invisible; in contrast, in punk, she argues “[i]t would be possible to write the whole history of punk music without mentioning any male bands at all -- and I think a lot of [people] would find that very surprising.” Johnny Rotten wrote that ‘During the Pistols era, women were out there playing with the men, taking us on in equal terms ... It wasn’t combative, but compatible.’ Women

were involved in bands such as The Runaways, The Slits, The Raincoats, Mo-dettes, and Dolly Mixture, The Innocents. Others take issue with the notion of equal recognition, such as guitarist Viv Albertine, who stated that “the A&R men, the bouncers, the sound mixers, no one took us seriously.. So, no, we got no respect anywhere we went. People just didn’t want us around.” The anti-establishment stance of punk opened the space for women who were treated like outsiders in a male-dominated industry. Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon states, “I think women are natural anarchists, because you’re always operating in a male framework.”

To me, punk rock is the freedom to create, freedom to be successful, freedom to not be successful, freedom to be who you are. It’s freedom. - Patti Smith

WOULD YOU USE

YOUR BODY AS A CANVAS?

Why is it more than a trend

W

hen we look at a paint/ sculpture/photography, we know immediately is art, but what happens when we see ink on skin? Do we admire it the same way or we look at it with different eyes. Tattoos are more than a decoration, a rebelious act, or a fashion trend. In early years they were used to describe the Origin, the Ancestors, fought battles, your mission. It is a way to fill an empty hole, and fill it with something symbolic. They could represent a stage on your life, what you love the most or the letter

of someone who marked you. A tattoo is perpetuate on your body a piece of art, which defines what is on your inside. The taboo around it is in decrement, people is slowly embracing the idea that having something oked on your body is actually a compromise with yourself and with your ideals. Once a friend told me that having a tattoo is the less permanent thing to have because the human being is going to cease to exist and with that the art, and I trully believe it, so having a tattoo is just a temporary life decision.

Tattoos have the power and magic all their own. They decorate the body but they also enhance the soul. -Michelle Delio

TIPS FOR BEGINNNING ILLUSTRATORS If you are planning to become an expert in the field of concept art or illustration, it is very important to also study and understand other areas of art. Most sites for artists that I often look at, focus on full-length animation, but for inspiration, it's enough just to observe the designer's work, video game graphics or art advertising.

Also think that in order to find the necessary references, the actions are always the same: you type the query in the search, and this helps to understand better what you are dealing with. But often the best ideas come in favor of unexpected things that inspired during work.

"Great works of art are revered not only because they have a wonderful technique, but also because of the artist's soul, which he puts into his work." Do not be afraid of failure, but be grateful for what you learned from this experience. Remain humble and work up to the seventh sweat. Be curious, do not hesitate to ask questions. Curiosity goes inextricably with understanding, knowledge and inspiration, and this will all lead to freedom of action and new discoveries. But do not worry, artists are not born. We all started from something and at some point worked awkwardly. Your skills and style will develop through practice. places, be patient and determine the methods that help you. Yes, you will be mistaken, everyone passes through it, but that’s how you can become better. Benefits can be drawn from both positive and negative experiences. Learn the techniques and tricks of other artists, but do not forget to try something new. If you chose the path of an artist, you will never stop learning. Last but not least: follow your passion and never lose sight of it. You, after all, became an artist?

DIFFERENT TYPES OF PHOTOGRAPHY

It is a combination of different types of photography

in the form of art.

It’s all about the right angle, correct lighting and great lens. For different types of photos, the lens has to be changed accordingly. If you want more details in your photo, then opt for macro lens. Some people get confused with beauty photography and glamour photography. Glamour photography is like fantasy photography and beauty photography is like shooting portrait photography. Let us look through the different types of photography styles to inspire you.

THE WORLD OF FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY In the world of photography, Fashion Photography is one of the most sought after careers since it is one of the most highly paid jobs. Fashion photographers are sought out to create portfolios for budding and experienced models. Fashion Photographers are like the gateway to the glamour world.

The type of photography that inspires me is romantic and dreamy, almost pre-raphaelite. I admire all the different beauty in people and love sharing that with others in my photos. Many photographers pride themselves on their technical ability but I rely on my creativity and the valuable people that contribute to my ideas. The whole process from start to finish truly excites me.

MOTION BLUR PHOTOGRAPHS Motion blur is the apparent streaking of rapidly moving objects in a still image or a sequence of images. There are two types of motion blur pictures. The first type is where you keep your surroundings static and bring out motion in the subject. This works pretty well with pictures where only a part of the subject is moving, like the arms or legs. The other type of blur is where you keep the subject mostly in focus and get a motion blur effect on the background. This works well when the entire subject is in motion, just like the bike in the image below.
