T

hat’s what Young-Pyo Lee said of Vancouver Whitecaps FC in 2014 after retiring from professional soccer the year prior. Turns out he was onto something, as it was announced today that the South Korean soccer legend is returning to Whitecaps FC as a club ambassador. “I am very excited to be back with Whitecaps FC in a club ambassador role,” said Lee. “I enjoyed every moment that I spent playing with this club and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to be a part of its history. I love this city and the

fans of Whitecaps FC.” As a club ambassador, Lee will make appearances at various Whitecaps FC events, including club executive, partner, community and promotional events. Lee will make his first appearance at Sunday’s season opener against Montreal Impact at BC Place. He will also be signing autographs at the WFC2 season opener on Sunday, April 10 at UBC Thunderbird Stadium. Lee joined Whitecaps FC in advance of the 2012 season, following a highly distinguished club and

international career that included appearances for his country South Korea at three FIFA World Cups. The former Tottenham Hotspur fullback also spent time playing in Saudi Arabia, Germany, England,. Lee made an immediate impact with the ‘Caps and was named the club’s player of the year in his first season. In total, he started 63 of his 65 Major League Soccer appearances, recording one goal and 10 assists. He played two full seasons in Vancouver before concluding his storied 14-year professional career in 2013 with Whitecaps.

Even though you can’t see your effort immediately, it eventually comes out. That’s why I am never frustrated whenever I have a hard time. – Lee Young Pyo Frill Magazine • April 2016  5

H OROSCOPE April 2016

Aries This is your month and your time to shine, Aries (happy solar return!). The sun will shift from Pisces into your sign on March 19, which is an astrological new year and also Spring Equinox. Focus on yourself, what you want to cultivate and create. Take time for an adventurous vacation if possible or splurge on something that brings joy to your heart.

Cancer On the Pisces new moon in your house of mental exploration and truth you can set intentions around how you want to live in your fullest freedom, what your higher education goals are, and any travel longings you have. Eclipses bring sudden and unexpected changes, so in this part of your chart, you may find yourself taking off on a travel adventure or enrolling in graduate school. 14  Frill Magazine • April 2016

Taurus During April you will have many planets settled in Pisces, your house of friendship and teamwork. Your conversations and thoughts will be centered on group work, working toward your goals, alliances and Venus, the planet of love and money, moves there on the 12th, so connecting with friends and creating harmony in the relationships you have in the groups you belong to will become important.

Leo The new moon and solar eclipse in Pisces can bring swift and unexpected changes, and any intentions that you plant now will unfold for the next six months. You could find an investor for your business during this time, or get a large tax refund, or decide to commit to or move in together with a partner.

Gemini Everything will be up for review and big changes could be on the way. You could change career paths, get an important promotion, or there could be dramatic changes in your income. Important men or father figures in your life play a role in this area as well, or your relationship with parents. You could find yourself relocating and moving your family across the country for a work opportunity.

Virgo Eclipses shake things up and bring sometimes unexpected changes. And new moons are perfect opportunities to state your intentions for how you will move forward in this next cycle. This eclipse for you could bring changes to your current relationship; maybe you will deepen your commitment, decide to get married or handfasted, or possibly decide to part ways.

Libra This is a time of letting go of some aspect of your interactions in relationships and developing and refining better ways to communicate and engage authentically. Look clearly into behaviours you employ that harm.

Scorpio This month is full of action and depth. We have two eclipses in April.

How have you dealt with partners in the past? And how have you handled business relationships? Think about what is most important to you.

Eclipses always either dissolve or materialize. For this new moon and eclipse, your emotions and passions could run high.Try not to overreact to things or look for something that isn’t there, Scorpio. This is the part of your chart that rules your heart, seduction, romance, and fertility.

Capricorn Set intentions for what you want to materialize in the next six months of this cycle.

Aquarius You could receive a surprising financial gift, or you could find yourself needing to pay a large expense.

Pay attention to the people you come in contact with — you could meet someone significant. You also may have an important conversation with someone, maybe a family member, that gives you insight and valuable, much-needed information.

It’s possible that you will change careers altogether. Set intentions for this new cycle and be open to all of the opportunities and possibilities unfolding.

Sagittarius New moons are always times to set intentions for a new lunar cycle that lasts for six months, and eclipses are power portals that shake things up. Sudden changes and surprises often accompany eclipses, so you could find yourself relocating for work or love or to be near family, or you could move in with someone, or you could have a surprise pregnancy.

Pisces Set intentions for how you want to proceed in the next six months of this lunation. This new moon is a powerful new beginning for you, like your own personal new year, and with the eclipse there’s an added potency. Let yourself stay open to all possibilities, and trust that the direction your life takes is part of your transformation and evolution.
