The store is making history by launching a revolutionary window display for its 2011 Christmas season. Epitomising this year‟s White Christmas theme, the Oxford Street windows create a true winter wonderland in the heart of the capital. As if this feast for the eyes wasn‟t enough, the windows will also bring music to your ears. Each pane is transformed into an enchanting, oversized music box, some playing re-engineered carols whilst others provide eerie, magical sounds to evoke the feeling of a „crystal clear Christmas‟. Admirers are encouraged to play around with the windows as each pane is equipped with a state-of-the-art touch-screen wind-up system to control the track. We interviewed London College of Fashion student and Selfridges lover Charlotte Butler to find out what exactly it is about Selfridges she loves so much! How often do you come to the store? “Literally like every day, I think I‟m obsessed!” What is it about the store that you love so much? “What is there not to love, clothes and food the perfect combination! Also it‟s good for me to keep up to date with the fashion that‟s in the stores for my degree and Selfridges is the best place for that.” Would you recommend the store to people of all ages or just students? “Oh definitely all ages there is something for everyone, even your dog!” What is your favourite part of Selfridges? “PINKBERRY!” (for people who don‟t already know Pinkberry is frozen yoghurt phenomenon that‟s hit Selfridges-a must if you can‟t resist a brain freeze!) What do you think about Selfridges White Christmas theme this year? “It is truly spectacular, really magical; I even got my mum to come and stay with me at university just so we could go there and see all the pretty lights and decorations.”
