A major overhaul

In 2020, BISON began a major ‘planet first’ overhaul, including fifty-eight solar panels on our

roof, making us 85% off grid/100% renewable energy, electric vehicle/ chargers, an upgraded heating/ cooling system that has reduced our carbon by 75% and we are currently working on our ‘BISON Village’ at the rear of BISON HQ, which includes a nature area, outdoor living/ working/workout.

We have also reviewed all of our products, services and packaging – our printing uses vegan inks, our materials are ethically sourced, we are zero to landfill and we have reduced plastic in packaging by over 95%.

Interesting fact:

One of our most prestigious projects was producing a 24m2 timeline about Shakespeare to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death. This was installed in Shakespeare’s gardens and has been viewed by several million visitors.

TEMPORARY SIGNAGE

A sign does not have to be forever. BISON can produce photo quality, temporary signage to fit your campaign.

From corrugated lightweight boards, to self-adhesive vinyl graphics that can be used on a huge range of surfaces, including windows, walls, floors, brickwork, tarmac and concrete. They can be cut to your customised design and completed with specialist finishes that make them quick to fit and remove, including eyelets and Velcro. They can even be magnetised.

Award-winning Town & Country Mortgage Services have been giving expert advice for over 20 years.

Getting frustrated with their brand assets not all working well together and feeling that it was time for a refresh they reached out to BISON for some support.

Part of the process was encouraging them to step outside of their comfort zone and explore a new simplified, bolder identity. We suggested a simple ‘+’ brand icon and a memorable tagline ‘Advice that moves you’ to sit next to two strong colours.

Following approval of the chosen concept, we rolled out the design across deliverables including super-

imposed ‘imagine it’ office graphics and signage visuals. From there, we went on to produce and install the office graphics as well as make beautiful printed asstes including tactile Business Stationery and Brand guidelines.

Working in collaboration with their website company, we also produced a website skin that carried their brand online effectively. Finally, we created a set of brand guidelines to ensure that future work did not carry brand erosion.

The project was all about creating a brand that would stand out in a crowded marketplace while making it friendly and approachable. They stepped out of their comfort zone and have a brand to be proud of.

The Big Cat Sanctuary Director of Big Cats & Conservation

The Big Cat Sanctuary in Smarden, Kent is home to over fifty big cats. The charity’s core objectives are welfare, breeding, education and conservation and they offer exclusive experiences at the sanctuary to help support their fundraising.

They had two strong identities, their founding name The Wildlife Heritage Foundation (WHF) and The Big Cat Sanctuary; created to provide a more approachable, public facing name. The two logos were in conflict with each other and did not give the Sanctuary a clear, defined brand with which they could grow their outreach and fundraising.

It was important to create an icon that would be instantly recognisable and incorporate both identities into one

graphic that could be used for all their marketing collateral. We achieved this through the subtle inclusion of ‘WHF’ within the shape of the tiger, ensuring their heritage is still proudly included in the new brand, but keeping The Big Cat Sanctuary as the public identity, so people in an instant would know who they are and what they do.

We produced print collateral, exhibition graphics and park signage to support their new branding.

The new brand gives The Big Cat Sanctuary an identity to be proud of. They have since been the focus point of BBC documentary ‘Big Cats About the House’ and are splashed across Formula E racing cars. Developments that didn’t seem possible just a few short years ago.
