Supplier Analysis Mexico: Cualquier Lavado, S.A. de C.V. - fabric and final manufacturing They use state of the art equipment to more efficiently produce their denim. They also have a lot of experience with cotton, produce trendier styles, and expect high quality results. They’ve been in business for over 20 years and they take their privacy policy very seriously. Bangladesh: NCVI Private Limited - dyeing and refining This supplier is known for their natural indigo dyes. We chose this because even though there are other suppliers there that focus on denim, we appreciated the natural and more sustainable aspect of this company. Not only do they use natural dyes, but they have experience with natural materials such as silk and cotton as well. It’s owned by the workers and artisans, is fair trade, the workers get fair wage and also democratically manage and run their own businesses. China: NINGBO NCJN Import and Export Co. Ltd. - buttons and zippers We needed things like buttons and zippers from China, and we chose this one because they have all natural options made from materials such as bamboo and coconut shells. They have years of experience, the workers own the factory themselves and they also do quality control themselves to guarantee the best quality possible.

Strategy Publication We chose to use Mexico for our main denim supplier because they are established and experienced with denim and it’s a duty free country to import from. We also made sure to find a supplier that has experience with producing 100% cotton denim. We noticed Bangladesh was making changes to become more sustainable and decided to use them for dyeing and finishing mills. We found a supplier that has a lot of experience with all natural, plant based dyes as well as all natural textiles, specifically silk and cotton. We chose China for our buttons, threads, and rivets because of their technological advances and their quick production time. They also have established suppliers that can make things in an efficient way. The supplier we found also has sustainable practices by producing products that are made from all natural materials such as bamboo and coconut shells to make things like buttons which we needed for our jeans. They also have great prices (the ones we would get would only cost a couple cents each) https://nbnewcentury.en.made-in-china.com/product-group/eqMJyBcYbGTl/1-Button-catalog-1.html

Conclusion ·

Values and Guidelines

I think that our suppliers align with our values and guidelines because they all offer more sustainable options either in technology or in all natural materials. ·

Margins and Quality

They maximize our margins and quality because they are all reasonably priced and have experience in their industries. They have established production systems in place which helps to create better quality in a shorter amount of time. ·

Timing

With the final production taking place in Mexico, the fact that it’s so close to the U.S. can be really beneficial for our lead times. ·

Flexibility and Value

It offers us flexibility because we don’t have to sacrifice our values in order to find people that can produce what we want. It also adds value because transparency and sustainability are something that people are looking for more right now and we can be transparent about our production process because it’s actually fair and sustainable.

·

Growing and Future Advantages

It offers us room to grow because we still plan on owning our own farms and incorporating vertical integration into our business one day. For now this just makes us connections and gives us reliable suppliers to help produce our products. ·

Minimizing Risk and Maximizing Opportunities

Working with established suppliers minimizes risk and the fact that we can be transparent with our consumers allows us to be more confident with our business decisions ·

Are you proud to tell anyone in what countries and in what suppliers you produce your product?

We’re proud because countries like Mexico and Bangladesh are currently making efforts towards sustainability which is a great part of our company and China has a reputation for well established suppliers. ·

Factories and Matching Company Profile and Costing

Paying more for sustainable products is something that we were willing to do, so pricing isn’t an issue, and as mentioned before our supplies and supplies match our mission to have all natural, plant based jeans for our consumers
