Beauty guest artist with nicole randelman

Bridal makeup for 2010 is all about ballerinas and sugar plum fairies. Most designers opted for makeup in elegant shades of pink, all sweet and demure. Others, sent models down the runway in a rebellious but soft smokey eye in pale shades of shimmery plum. Both are perfect makeup looks for your wedding.

Nicole is a New York City based makeup artist, specializing in makeup for High Definition print and TV. She discovered her passion early in life and after a brief stint as a makeup artist for the venerable Estee Lauder company, she went on to receive her certification as a master makeup artist at the famed Studio Makeup Academy at Sunset Gower Studios in Los angeles. Soon thereafter Nicole became a full time freelance makeup artist performing her magic on the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey and for countless editorial shoots. Nicole has recently finished a book on makeup for young adults and has begun her new makeup book for women over 35. 1. A fresh lipstick/gloss for retouching. (Make sure its new or close to new so you don’t risk running out.)

Beauty Top 5 Congratulations, your wedding day is finally here. You’ve earned it, having gone through the arduous task of planning your ideal wedding. Today is the day that pictures are taken and memories created. You want to be sure that you’ve brought the proper tools to keep yourself looking fresh and picture perfect at all times. Here are the top five beauty “must haves”:

2. Compact blotting powder with clean powder puff for touching up the t-zone.

3. Blush with compact blush brush.

4. Mini mascara for reapplying after the occasional tears of joy.

Sugar Plum Fairy The sugarplum fairy is for those brides who want to make a bolder statement. This is where the smokey eye gets a bit of a make-under. Instead of using traditional dark colors this look calls for a silvery tinged plum shadow to be placed above the eye up to the crease. Then a dark plum liner is used on the upper lash line and lower bottom half of the lash line. This line is then blended in to give a smokey look. Curl lashes and add black mascara to top and bottom if desired. Blush is kept matte and very soft in a mauve shade and lips are either very sheer pink or sheer plum. Definitely an eye catching look. * Note: If plums just aren’t your thing, its perfectly okay to use a shimmery bronze shadow and dark brown eyeliner in its place with soft peach blush and sheer champaign lip-gloss. Both looks are trendy but classic at the same time, offering even the most fashion forward bride a look that will stand the test of time!

Ballerina The ballerina look entails using soft pinks around the eyes, cheeks and lips. This is perfect for someone who wants a more natural look but with a little lift to it. Use a soft shimmery shadow around the eyes and then pencil in plum eyeliner just in between the top and bottom lashes. Smudge this with your finger so the line remains “whispery”. Don’t forget to curl your lashes and then add one coat of mascara to top lashes only. If you want a little extra punch you can add two or three individual lashes to the outer corners of the eye and a bit of a gilded or cream colored shimmer at the inner corner of the eyes (very dreamy). Blush is either soft and matte (if you’ve used shimmer around the eyes) or if you’ve opted for more matte shadow, use pink blush with some shimmer mixed in for an ethereal touch. Lips are left with just a hint of soft pinky gloss (no defined liner). If this is a bit too soft for you, go for a fuchsia colored matte lip, blot it with a tissue and then apply clear gloss on top to make it sheer. Talk about a fairytale bride. * Note: Make sure brows are softly filled in. Leaving brows “naked” can make this look seem unfinished in your photos.

My wedding... Best piece of advice I received before my wedding was to take the time and enjoy the day, I remember sitting down in a quiet spot and watching my wedding happen, and I am so glad I did. I got to see my family and friends enjoy a once in a lifetime experience, which to me was the best wedding gift.
