AR GLASSES STORE Upon entering, users are equipped with lightweight AR glasses. They will be required to register themselves online via the gallery’s app to initiate the journey.

The essence of CraftConnect is storytelling. It's not just about the final crafted product but the stories of the artisans, the tales of generations, the history of the craft, and the journey of its evolution in a digital world. The narrative is two-fold: Preservation: Documenting the techniques, personal stories, and histories of these crafts.

3 3 2

Evolution: Modernizing these crafts, not by changing them, but by integrating technology to enhance their reach and appeal. CENTERED PLATFORM 1

The atrium is an expansive space, bathed in soft, dimmable ambient lighting to draw attention to specific exhibits. Centered in the room are several raised platforms, each housing an artifact or replica of a traditional craft.

AR GLASSES STORE The walls are treated with high-resolution projection surfaces to accommodate crisp visual playback. A series of floor panels, equipped with pressure sensors, align with the footprints guiding visitors, ensuring that their steps trigger specific relevant AR overlays and animations. SOUNDSCAPE Specific zones trigger ambient sounds associated with each craft—chatter in a market, the humming of a boatman’s song, the rhythmic beating of a weaver's loom—immersing users further. MOMENTO DOCK Designated docks to play AR effects and allow visitors to connect their mobile devices wirelessly and save their favourite pieces instantly.

2. TACTILE TRADITIONS WORKSHOP

Emulating a traditional Terengganu workshop, the room features rustic wooden beams and rafters. Wide wooden tables serve as the centerpiece, equipped with built-in digital sketchpads.Adjustable overhead glass ensures optimal illumination for both hands-on crafting and digital work. B A A B 1

CENTERED PLATFORM Drawing or sketching on the table surface triggers instant feedback from the overhead projectors, guiding users in their craft pursuits. Engaging with shelved tools allows them to appreciate the tactile essence of craftsmanship, bridging the tech-tradition divide.

DIGITAL CANVAS These interactive canvas allow visitor to digitally design crafts. As a pattern is sketched, the system offers real-time tutorials on how the craft can be created traditionally.

INTELLIVUE GLASS The room's lighting dynamically adjusts based on activities, with spotlighting capabilities for focused tasks and soft ambient modes for presentations.

3. FUTURECRAFT LAB

FutureCraft Lab epitomizes the innovative convergence of past craftsmanship with futuristic technologies. Envision a space awash in metallic sheens and sleek glass panels. the design exudes a minimalist yet state-of-the-art atmosphere, promising a dynamic experience where heritage and innovation intertwine seamlessly.

FINAL YEAR EXHIBITION

REFLECTION Embarking on the CraftConnect project as an interior architecture student has been a profound journey of creativity and problem-solving. Crafting Heritage Horizon to blend digitized exhibits, the lively Marketplace of Traditions, and the cutting-edge Innovation Illuminated, became a narrative in spatial design. Each space, like Craft Creators' Cove's vibrant activities and Echoes of Craftsmanship's serene echoes, was a brushstroke in the larger canvas of preserving tradition amid modernity. Striking a balance between aesthetics, functionality, and cultural resonance emerged as the essence. This odyssey has deepened my understanding that architecture is not merely about structures but a dynamic storyteller, where CraftConnect stands as my masterpiece—bridging generations through the art of spatial design and fostering a harmonious coexistence of tradition and innovation.
